I have a problem with some of the censors. s.u.c.k is NOT in any way bad in normal usage. You can say someone sucks, but won't that person just report the flame? Most of the time it is harmless. Same with O.M.G. I don't see how anyone is going to honestly be offended by that.

oh yeah. I need to do something nerdier with my time. not to mention MORE time consuming. seriously though, we are almost all good people here and there will always be a mod or someone to report.

Well, then. perhaps you could just use a different word? For example, instead of s.u.c.k you could say "drat", or 'dang' or "this drags"? For O.M.G you could use oh my gosh?

i think o.m.g was an accedent in the first place, or as louis sayd 'inside joke'

look, Sauron. it just doesn't have the same feeling as s.u.c.k. and no one says drag anymore. it sounds like the English Dub for Shikamaru from Naruto (don't ask me why that popped into my head. probably because that is the only regular use of the term. NO ONE USES IT).

i dont know why iyts censored, i mean it doesnt have any relegios meaning or anything, it just expresses shock and surprise, nothing even a close to being in a long shot of being inappropriate.

uhh rpm... what do you mean it has NO religous meaning. I quote "Oh my God". The word "God" its self implies religion, and while some in the younger generation, excluding me, think it is no big deal, It is offensive to people of certain religions to use what they consider a holy name like that.
I have said "Oh my God" three times in my life. once i didnt know about the beleif that i shouldnt say it, once i was copying someone, and once i slipped.
while yall may call me stupid for believing it, i take personal offense when someone says that, as do others, so i have no problem with it being blocked.

same here. it does have religious meaning: The Ten Commandmants, for one. and i do beleive its wrong, but so few do. i've probably slipped once or twice, but i try to avoid it.

The word censors are here to stay and they will most probably never be removed. They are our one tool in trying to keep the forums ordered and peaceful. By ignoring them and continuesly continue to try and avoid them the list of words that will be censored will continue to grow and we can give warnings, but we prefer not to.

yeah. i know people who were on sites that totally descended into absolute chaos. that was cus they had no user mods, but still, having censors in place helps a lot. SF is a very clean site: we have very few problems with spammers, exceptionally rude members, etc. Which is great.
