Peace ppl, it's really me she doesn't want to talk to. I would like to know more about that little exclamation mark button at the bottom of posts. If I push it it reports that person for spamming or what?

Well, actualy to tell the truth i haven't really been looking through the new features (I mean by wanting to discover them), but I have come accross nearly most of the board features just by scrolling through the forums.

hey i just reallized the coolest new feature; you know how sometimes you post at the same time as some one and things get confusing? now when that happens when you press submit it shows you the post and asks you if you want to submit that

ya there was some times when that would have been really helpfull

Yeah and if your hidden it doesn't tell people if your online, like how you see some users posts and it says online over thier name, if your hidden it won't say online, it'll just be blank.

Why do some names have italics? Ive noticed that and I have no idea what it means...

the names in italics are the people that are currently set to be invisible

I don't know about mods, but admins could see everyone that was invisible on the old phpbb2

All this chatter about how coolthe new features of the board are just goes to show what cool stuff PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) can do. That's why it says that it can do pretty much anything.

Does php only work for computers?

well ya considering its for the world wide web

It's a programming language, so yes it only works on computers, but you the php program and a web deamon on your computer to be able to run the files and get the right output. I have all of that running on my laptop, so that I can test out changes on the forum or site before I make it live

I can't help myself but add to what louis is saying (if I'm correct), just to go inot a little more detail. php is server-sided which I have mentioned before so it can't run just on a browser. To view it via your computer (I upload it to my private domain on the internet usually to test out my scripts) you need to install the programmes called "apache, MySQL database and the actual PHP program to create a php environment, then you have to configure the three programmes to run properly to view the scripts. phpbb team has a bigger database than your average one because its a bigger company and needs to store more data.

one thing i really like is that the veiw who is online thing updates imediatly and is a lot more spesific than the old one.

also i notieced that the view last post for sub topics doesnt work

no i mean at the bottom if you click who is online you can see what everyy one is doing

i saw one composing a private message once too. since its ran by a computer it will just check every singly page possible

rpm is correct. Bots can't actually write a private message (the thought of a program doing tht is hilarious! ), and they can't actually reply to the topic, they just test things out as rpm stated, to help gain data for the search engines. (The search engines work by a series of algorithims, and mathmatical equations, very complicated stuff)
