 Galbatorix doesn't really knows murtagh's true nameis it possible that galby doesn't know murtaghs true name, only ordered to say that so that eragon would not try to find a way around his oaths? if galby knew murtaghs name, he would want to be controlling him while he was fighting eragon.

This is a really good topic
 I think that galby was just blufing and made mughrta swear that he would tell eragon that. This would {he hopes} put eragon at a mental dissadvantage in hopes he would change sides. |

i don't know, i think murtagh is torn, he has tasted power and likes it, but he hated galby, i think its possible that galby knows his name, but HOW i dont know, and i think that murtagh may be more evil than good, he doesn't care for anyone more than himself or thorn. i dont' know if Galby does, becasue HOW is hard

maybe he knew thorns real name somehow as he has had the egg for so long or something and then once the egg hatched for murtagh this dragon was in a bit of a weird positon as he had to be loyal to his rider but galby knows his true name, then maybe i dunno somehow a dragon knows there riders true name even if its just subconciously and he got murtaghs that way
bit of a complecated theory i know , and its a bit of a random one , but does anyone think there could be any truth in it? |

we dont know... but i think that elves just know a way to find you true name... and maybe glaby discovered it... something they can do instinctively he has learned to do...
