I got tired of people cussing (even though it's abbreviated) on SF because their are people who come on here that are under 13. This is my personal vendetta to get abbreviated cussing banned from SF. If more people vote that they would prefer ppl not do it, then I think the mods and admins should seriously consider banning it. It teaches kids that it's okay to cuss when it's not. And I'm sure y'alls parents wouldn't like knowing that you ppl do it. I would like to know what other opinions are out there on this subject, so please, cast your votes and post your opinions. If more ppl choose not to have an opinion, I won't be able to do anything about it, but I will be seriously worried. It might seem small, but it's still a bad habit.

I see no problems with for example "wtf". Younger kids probably wouldn't be able to discern what it really means, and it could mean more than what you think. Unless, the person is actually cussing or disguising the actual word but still using the whole word, then it isn't a problem.

I'm not trying to force my views on anyone. It's just that sooner or later if the younger kids on here don't know what it means they will eventually figure it out. They probably hear enough of it at home and at school, so why make a wonderful forum like SF look bad to parents who actually check up on what their kids are doing on the internet, just for the sake of looking cool? That's one of the main reasons that kids swear (taht was for you, nutta) : to look cool. Another couple of reasons are so they appear grown-up and responsible. I can think of a dozen different ways for a kid my age to appear more mature and responsible than to swear. For instance: Older teenagers could get a job, kids of all ages could do their chores and homework, etc. I believe that adults who swear look like, and sound like, idiots. Most of my family swear. To tell the truth, I wouldn't care for most of them to be on SF. That's my opinion and what I believe, but y'all are all entitled to your own opinions and beliefs. I just figured it was high time I said something about what I believe.

yeah alot of people put stars in the middle of each letter or use subtitutes *cough************cough* i also think some sexual terms should be blocked.

Lol this si kinda childish. If there is some serious problem with swearing member where's the problem with reporting him to some of our great moderators? Most of 'em are here everyday so i guess PM with name and neccesary info (like some links to rude posts...) can solve this "problem".

I'm going to have to agree with Firetounge. I don't see how having my teachers swear with me is going to make me comfortable with them.

And what was the point of telling us that famous people have come from your school? Congrads on that, but what has it to do with the agrument?

Exactly. If a teacher at my school was caught swearing (for you, nutta) they would find themselves out of a job. And my school might be small, but its one of the best in the district. So it would look kind of bad for them if they got fired for swearing.

I don't mean to say that I don't do it to. But the fact is, whenever I do say a curse word, I apologize to the person I said it to. And it always makes me feel embarrassed when I say one, because I feel like it makes me look just a little stupid. I'm not calling anyone who curses stupid, that's just how it makes me feel whenever I do it.

Personaly Im against it. Abreveated cursing is no diffrent from regulare cursing, becuase it means the same thing. (Im not one to talk though I curse from time to time. I think we all do.) But people should be able to control them selfs and not go out of thier way (whitch is what I think they do) to abreveate curses. Don't make much sense to me. That my opinion Y'all and if you say other wise please tell me why. I would wish to know why.

No I didn't mean that all people curse. But there are people who just say it because, not saying there are many here. But if you give them permision to use abbreviated cursing some people (I truely don't know of any here) would start useing them all the time just because.

Oh when I was in public schools most of the kids in my school cursed all the time just to try and look cool.

I went to a small school in the middle of nowhere. Most every one there were wannabe gangsters and stuff like that. They were all idiots except for a select few. I normal got cused out and yelled at because I wore wragglers and boot. lol It always made my day when I got a chance to show them up, didn't happen often because numbers wernt on my side.

That's how it is at my school. People try to fight you because you dress like a hick and try not to curse. I'm what I call a "gentle giant". No, I'm not enormously large, the way I use the term is somebody who knows that they can cause a lot of damage in a fight, yet chooses not to fight for that very reason. Even with every reason to fight.

Some kids at my school can't say more than two senctences without cursing. I even made a bet with my brother about it. I bet $10 that he couldn't go ONE day without cursing at all. He didn't make it.

I don't swear ...... If older kids or adults swear around me (even if it's not at me) I get scared.
I don't know why. I'm really wierd.

Well, my mom is major hard core Christian (not saying I aint) and is against any kind of cursing or obscenities.

I have a picture of my mom when she was like eight....... She so cute! But then again most little kids are cute.

My mom had two husbands before my dad...... I have two 1/2 sisters: One from my mom and one from my dad.... My mom married at the age of 17 too, or at least to her first husband.....
