Post Is there a book on the Ancient Language of some sort?
I was just wondering whether there was some sort of book or guide released on the Ancient Language. Would just be nice to get a vague understand of some of the words and be able to make my own sentences in the language, other then what C.P gives us at the back of the books.
Any ideas?? or does C.P plan on releasing a book about it i wonder...

Anyway, would just like to say aswell this is my first post on this forum, and hopefully one of many too come!!
:D

And as you can probably see, i like elves :)

Maybe, but you never know. It's always possible, but I don't think so.

Your thinking of Eragon DE (deluxe edition). There is no Eldest DE, you mean Eldest LE. You can probably get Eldest LE on Amazon.com

Hmm, nope. Follow this link: http://play.com/Search.aspx?searchtype= ... &pa=search leads you to play.com
I can buy a copy of Eldest DE of it, but there does not seem to be a LE version for some reason. Still, anyone out there who knows the differences?
thanks for helping me anyway :)

Oh I guess it must be different *goes to check book* I guess the books must differ because on mine it only says Limited Edition. Whatever, it makes no difference.

One other thing, when the Ancient Language is taught, it is taught like a usual language? Starting with the alphabet first. I was just wondering whether the ancient language was split down into the alphabet or whether it was just phrases etc.

That's a very good question. I think it's just phrases.

Ok. Because i was thinking, and i know i'd probably never get round to doing it, but wouldn't it be easy then for the reader just to make his own guide on the ancient language? Of course it would take time, looking up every single phrase. But that still leaves me wondering how they invented it, if they do not have an alphabet for it....

I think they do have an alphabet, it's called "ancient runes" if I'm not mistaken.

Brom started teaching Eragon the regular old alphabet, like we're using now. He needed to because Eragon told him in Teirm that he didn't know how to read and they needed to find the shipping records for Seithr Oil quickly. Then Oromis started to teach him the elven alphabet. I can't remember the name of it. Ancient runes is a subject that Hermione studies at Hogwarts. I hope I didn't offend anybody with all of that.

There's a possibility that the ancient language alphabet will be released at the back of Book III or the third books L.E edition.

I read somewhere that he used the Old Welsh language for the ancient language. I don't know if he used that alphabet for the elven alphabet, however.

He used several different old languages to create the ancient language but he also made up and altered some words.

If you could get your name in the ancient language. it depends on the alphabet.

Because not all alphabets follow the English alphabet. Like the Russian alphabet, we were trying to spell/sound out our names in Russian the other day in Humanities class and the it didn't really work for my name. The Russian alphabet doesn't have some of the sounds that we have in the English. I imagine it's the same way with the Ancient Language alphabet.
