They had just defeated a bill that would have let students carry guns on school grounds- as long as they had a permit. So guns werent allowed..

It is a great tragedy, and is THE WORST in American History. Columbine was technically the worst, but this one had the most loss of lives.

No one shoots their family by accident(except reall dodos). THey do it for no reason, mainly because theyre on drugs or something. Or they hate them so much that they kill them.

that was really sad. i couldnt imagine what it be like being in tha school at the time.

ya i couldnt imagine what it would be like for my brother or one of my parents to die.

In one the classrooms on the second floor (where the gunman was shooting) The students heard shooting and screams...two of the students recognized it clearly before the others (this account comes from one...I beleive his name was Eric Calhoun). He began to flip desks for cover, while his counterpart bailed out the window along with others. Eric stayed to til the last moment and headed for the window. Just as he jumped out the window, he glanced back...and there was his professor, a Serbian-a brilliant mind in his field, a leading researcher, as I understand. Then Eric escaped. That professor was found dead, killed by the gunman that he was to delay in order to save his students.

Give that man a moment.

im crying so much . why would someone kill some one else? thats horrible! if u wanna kill someone, kill urself, not someone else. or better yet, dont kill neone atall. dotn mess up others lifes cuz of ur problems.

At least 33 people died and more hurt,, that's terrible!! I got a goosebumps when listening to the news.. it's just like sicko movies,, a mass murderer, except,, the horror becomes real.

Is anyone know the shooter identity and motive yet?

The shooter is a South Korean exchange student that was majoring in English. Can't pronounce his name tho. Motive remains a mystery, but the Virginia Tech police department is trying to figure it out now.

I dont mean to get racist or anythign, but they think he was Muslim..

If you know anything about the history of Islam, you'll know that Ishmael was the 'founder' of the countries that would follow Islam.

(that is mainly what the world does to Islam, and Islam to it.)

The shooter had on his arm written something along the lines of "Y'ishmal"

this is all so depressing...

that is the healing process. aye, it is depressing. but it will help some people try and cope with it and help others understand why it happened. i apologize if this is a depressing topic, but it will help those on SF cope with this disaster, myself included.

i apologize beforehand, but that is bs. he was not sick in the mind. he just wanted immortality and he wanted revenge. so he thought, "hm, why don't i go and kill 32 people? i'll get my vengeance AND i'll become famous."

btw,, the killer is an American citizens (with South Korean ethnics, FYI -- not that it matters, but I don't think a Korean is a muslim, really small percentage of that). All the evidences found suggested that he was 'pissed off' with rich kids and.. not very clear,, but the guess is that man had some rage against the system, so he killed many ppl.
One of the 33 victims was from my nation, Indonesia The victim was doing dissertation (to be Ph.D or something). So unlucky...

It makes me really mad when people waste life when so many people out there are struggling to hold on to it from having some sort of illness.

The media skews EVERYTHING, so they dont want something coming out that isnt the truth.

The media in the U.S. is bias toward anythign that might give anything good to Bush or wahtever(sorry for the politics but im just saying)..so its all skewed, lol

agreed. i saw this forensic psychologist on GMA yesterday and he said that we need to stop talking about him because with all this publicity, he is achieving what he set out to do: immortality. the media should definitely focus more on the people hurt by this, not the guy who did the crime itself.

well can you really blame people for wanting to have a little privacy to mourn without the media constantlly reminding them what theyve gone through??? They have enough pain to sort out. they dont need it prolonged by the media bringing it up over and over and over...

I don't know what to say about it... it's really sad.
