someone who joins for the sole pupose of being a perv or advertising their own site

U will see them every once in awhile, posting MSGs such as "come see me at _____"

Oh, I haven't seen many but I have seen a couple.

The mods try and delete them as soon as they come on

what are "Crawlers"? are they different than bots?

thous things at the bottom are things that gather imformation for search engines and other things, spam bots post advertisments and sometimes other in-ipropriate things and other things throuout the forum, but we havnt really got any after we got bbprotection, but before that they were every where and it was so annoying.

Not quite, spam bots well post spam all over the board and pollut the board will all kinds of unwanted things. thos things that we allways see on just gather infromation to put on search engins. we dont have to worry about them really

well yeah... crawlers dont post a bunch of crap all over the place... but they are both just programs that repeat the same sequence over and over...

They have always been there. In the older version of SF and everything, but in this version, you can just see them in the "logged in" position.

great...is there a way to make them invisible again? it's really annoying. it says that there are 7 people logged in, for example, and then there are just 3 really, including myself!!!

I think the admins can make it invisible...
