Help Please
Ok I am trying to create a character but I have a few questions. 1. How do people generally become magicians. Can we just say that they were born with that power or do we have to describe some way that they learned or what? 2. Are there shapeshifters other that werecats allowed? I was kinda hoping to do like a falcon or something.
I appreciate your help.

Quote: 1. How do people generally become magicians. Can we just say that they were born with that power or do we have to describe some way that they learned or what? Almost all magic-users are born with their abilities. I'm sure you could train someone with absolutely no talent, but they could barely do anything. They can discover their magic and a little of the ancient language on their own, but they would most likely need someone to teach them. I'm not saying it has to be another magic user, really. I have a bio somewhere for a character that got abducted by the grey folk; use your imagination. Quote: 2. Are there shapeshifters other that werecats allowed? Well, I just approved our second werewolf. So I suppose the answer would be yes.

Wait, he only has a few skills? He could have discovered them on his own, or just known naturally I guess. I thought you meant an actual mage.

Okay, what I'm saying is, he doesn't nessecarily need a teacher to teach him his one ability, but if he was a full magician, like eragon is, or brom, or something, then he'd probably have needed someone to teach him the parts of the ancient language.
