OOC: This RPG is set before Anthor and Gornath know anyone. But after they leave the North mountains to come back and fight for Alagaesia. Also, in this one, it is set before Gornath knows any of his light abilities.

IC:
The man rode smoothly through the clouds. His grizzled beard was swept too and fro across his face as he and his dragon hurtled through the clouds. The sun was just beginning to rise over the mountains and the man sighed.

It had been many years since last he and his dragon had set foot on this land, too mand years. It had also been many years since last he had seen flowers, green grass, or other people for that matter. The only thing that had kept him sane was the bond between his dragon and him. He sighed again as he saw a few birds fly by. He looked at the earth beneath them, how it had dulled since their absence, it was as if the land itself had become tainted. Galbatorix... thought the rider angrily. He was not the same man as before. Years in the harsh cold of the northern mountains had hardened him into a powerful man. The years in the extreme cold had also hardened his heart. He was no longer the boy who had been taken away by his dragon from the evil man. He was now, or would now have been an elder, one who would sit beside his master in the council, but that was not to be. His master had been taken captive. Anthor would have his vengance.

Gornath looked at the earth below him with dangerous red eyes. It had been many years, more years than he had cared to count, and his friend-life-rider had been with him that entire time, and between them their bond had grown to massive proportions. However, that was not all that had grown. They had become tough, and hard, much like the mountains they had lived in for so many years. They had also become powerful, much more powerful than before. Gornath was ready for his match with Shruikan, they were close to the same age, size, and since last seeing him, strength. The fall of his masters, Bascth, and Voenth would be repayed in full....

OOC: Anyone is welcome, particularly riders, and humans. Tehy are not quite ready for elves, but about mid-way through elves came come in, and remember, Anthor and Gornath do not know you, and you do not know them.

BTW, Kit, this is a few months before Dark Stirring, so we can still make that new thread, or whatever.

OCC: I'll join with Violeta. This is right after she has returned to Alagaesia as well.

IC:
Violeta stood among the trees looking up at the early morning sky. She thought about how Alagaesia had completely changed in her absence. It was like a completely different land, not at all like the one she and Natagath had fought for all those years ago. Now Galbatorix's minions lurked everywhere and everyone she had known was dead. The dragoness was not sure exactly what had drawn her back here. Perhaps she was just homesick. Whatever the case, Violeta was home now.

As the violet dragoness stood there thinking, she saw the form of a dragon soar overhead.

Hmm, I wonder who that is., she thought as she watched the strange dragon fly away. I guess there is only one way to find out.

Violeta walked into a clearing, spread her wings, and took off into the sky, following the strange dragon. She glided over the puffy clouds, her fur fluttering in the breeze as she soared along. As she got closer, she could see a man riding on the dragon's back. Neither of them looked familiar to her but they didn't appear to be a threat. Throwing caution to the wind, Violeta lowered her altitude until she was level with them and with a few beats of her wings, Violeta was flying alongside the strangers.

She looked over at them and decided to try starting a conversation.

Hello there, fellow travelers. Do you mind if I fly with you for a bit? It's been a while since I've been in the company of another dragon and rider.

Violeta said, It is nice to meet you, Anthor and Gornath. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who survived.

She flew along for a bit, just enjoying having company. Finally she asked, So, where did you two go during the Fall? I've just been traveling from place to place. After I left Alagaesia, I went to the frozen northern lands where the strange lights dance in the sky and the ground is frozen all year. After that I went to the land far to the south called Danthuania. Neither one was very welcoming for a dragon. I came back to Alagaesia because I was homesick and I wanted to help stop Galbatorix.

OCC: I'm gonna try and see if I can find another player to join this one, if that's alright with you. We could use a third person.

Violeta laughed and rested her head on her front legs.
I guess he does. She replied to Gornath. Well, I do not wish to keep your Rider awake any longer so I suppose I'll try to get some rest. Good night, Gornath.

The dragoness closed her violet eyes and thought about the old days. She looked back through her rmemories and found one of herself and Natagath flying over a mountain valley. It was a memory from so long ago that she couldn't remember exactly what they were doing. Usually thinking of Natagath made her sad but this one brought a warm feeling to her heart. She fell asleep happily remembering the good times she had spent with her Rider, rather than brooding over the fact that he was no longer with her.

OOC: That sounds good, I will wait until either a week ends, or someone else joins. That way we will continue the order as it is.

OOC: Ya, F-14 Ace asked me to join. I need to know a few things first: How far back is this set? I was considering bringing in one of two charries: One is 40 and the other one is like 950 or something. As soon as you let me know I'll join!

OCC: I'm not sure of the exact timeframe. All I know is that this takes place shortly after our characters have returned to Alagaesia. I'd say this is about a month after Violeta returned and in my other RP, she has been living in Alagaesia for about three years. Voenth could tell you more.

OOC: Ok, this RPG is set roughly 1 year before Anthor met Kit. So, about 2 years before Anthor & Gornath met any of your charries Ben.

OOC: Alright, since I'm not so sure Abrza would fit in that timeframe, I'll have a go with Vlad (before vampire powers).

IC: Vladimir awoke slowly. It his regular sleeping pattern: Sleep in the day: Run around in the night. If needed be he could change it in a few days, though. It was just one of those things he kept in the back of his head. He casually got up from his hiding place and started walking. Up ahead he sensed two Dragons and a Rider. He decided to quietly swerve around them and hope none sensed his presence.

He quietly approached the camp. He started going around it as slowly and quietly as possible. When he was almost past the camp, a twig broke under his foot. He cursed himself and stood still...

OOC: Welcome to the RPG Ben.

IC:
Anthor fell into a deep sleep that night. It was much nicer here than it was in the cold north. He did not even have to curl up under Gornath's wing to protect himself from the biting wind, and the freezing snow and sleet, however he was still very alert throughout the night, having spent several years hiding from the occasional dragon, or forsworn that passed north of the Empire. He listened closely throughout the night, waiting for something, anything that he might hear. It was late that night that he did hear something, but it was very small, as well as descreet. He managed to catch a smal glimpse at the "it" but to his annoyment, the "it" moved too fast for him to see it. He then decieded to leave whatever it was alone and to go back so sleep. It was not often that he got to sleep this comfortably, and he was not about to waste it.

Gornath soon fell into a deep sleep, one of those sleeps where the land of dreams and reality seem to mix in ways that are almost inconprehensible(sp) to the normal mind. However in this dream, he was flying alongside his masters, Voenth and Bascth. They were flying high over the Beor Mountains, and were traveling fairly fast. There was a danger about them, an air of nervousness. Something was happening, just then three of the forsworn flew out of the clouds at them, and the fight was on. Voenth and Bascth hurtled toward the forsworn, but were soon overpowered and were baken away, that left only Anthor and Gornath to fight the dragons and their riders. He growled angrily and hurtled toward the evil men and their steeds. However he was hit from behind and Anthor knocked from his back. Then, one of the men pulled out a bow and shot Anthor as he fell. Gornath woke up in the night and roared loudly saying, NO! then he realized, it was a dream. He looked at Anthor and Violeta who were both blinking owlishly because of their rude awakening. He said, I am sorry, I had a nightmare.

OOC: I have a feeling this is going to be a fun rp...

IC: Vlad mentally berated himself even more when one of the Dragons noticed his presence. Since he figured turning into an animal would waste all the energy he needed for the night, he decided to take evasive actions. He quickly ran behind a large tree. Then, he started on his run away from the place. The wind whipped him across the face as he ran on and on. He already had a plan: Find a place to hide, stay there until they stop searching, and then be more careful of where he walked at night. If he couldn't find a place to hide, it would be all over. They would find him, probably not trust him, kill him or hurt him in some fashion, and then dump him off in parts unknown. He knew he couldn't take on all three of them, especially the dragons. He hoped that he wouldn't have to..

OOC: That is the goal, Ben. =)

IC:
Anthor looked for what Violeta was talkin to, but couold not see. He instead streached out his mind to look and see what it was. He soon found it, it was a humanoid creature, that much was certain. He began to sleepily run after it. He was now about to let it get away from him. He caught sight of the humaniod ahead of him, but it was moving too fast to be a dwarf, or a normal human. Elf... he thought to himself as he ran after it. Soon, however, the rider was tired. He put his hands on his knees and panted for breath. He said, Violeta, Gornath, it is up to you to catch him, or her, its too fast for me, I am getting too old for this kind of thing. said the rider as he struggled to regain his breath.

When he heard that Anthor's attempt at capturing the intruder was a failure, Gornath leapt into the air with a small grunt. He used his huge wings to cut through the air like a knife, and used his eyes to watch his prey below. He followed the elf as fast as it could run through the forest, always flying high above it so that it knew that he was there, watching, waiting on it to weaken...

Violeta slowly drifted off to sleep again, dreaming once again of happier days when Natagath was still with her.

This time she could see herself lying under an apple tree while Natagath climbed all the way to the upper branches and picked the ripe apples. Violeta watched as her rider climbed down with a sack full of ripe, juicy apples slung over his back.
The elf smiled as he held up one of the apples.
"Here you go, Vi!" he shouted and tossed the apple to her.
The dragoness caught the apple in midair and made short work of the juicy piece of fruit.

Short post. Not much to say really. She's asleep.

OCC: Would it be alright if I brought in paito and Seroc?
Morning finally came and Violeta awoke just as the sun began to light up the clearing. She was not hungry yet and did not wish to disturb the others by moving about so she just lay awake, silently watching the nature around her. It did not bother her because she was a patient dragon. She spent a little bit of time preening her fur, as lightning dragons liked to keep their fur clean. However, as she lay there, Violeta thought she heard something creeping about in the forest nearby.

Surely that is not our mysterious guest again.

Violeta stood up as quietly as she could and made her way toward the source of the sound. Much to her relief the culprit turned out to be a wandering deer. The deer spooked and ran off when it saw her but Violeta did not pursue. She was still full from her previous meal and did not feel like causing a scene.

Vlad glared directly into the eyes of the dragon for a few seconds and then took off. He would follow them. They seemed interesting enough, and this could supply him with knowledge that he could later use in the future -- against their will of course. It was always more fun if it was against their will...

OOC: Sorry, I usually reply faster than this! There's just a lot of stuff going on in my family right now..

Violeta replied, I will back you up in case he tries to pull anything.

She descended into the forest a short distance from where Seroc had vanished, landing silently on the forest floor. She could smell the smoke of a campfire nearby. Quietly, the dragoness crept forward, making her way to the edge of the campsite. She could see the tan dragon curled up on the ground with a young man sitting by his side. The young man, who Violeta assumed was the rider, was dressed in tanned buckskin. He certainly did not look like a Forsworn. Still, looks could be deceiving. She decided to remain out of sight and wait for Anthor and Gornath to arrive before making a move.


Paito sat with his back against his dragon's side. Suddenly Seroc became alert and let out a growl as he heard the sound of someone approaching. Before he could do anything, a man with a dragon by his side entered the camp with a bow and nocked arrow.

Unsure of who the stranger was, the young ride reached for his own bow, but a voice in his head suddenly stopped him.

That is not a wise move. I wouldn't do it if I were you., Violeta said as she emerged from the woods and bearing her venomous fangs.

Seroc got to his feet and stood protectively over his companion.
Paito pulled his hand back away from his bow as Violeta spoke and his eyes darted nervously from Anthor to Gornath and then to Violeta. He and his dragon were hopelessly outmatched. His biggest fear was that the Empire had finally caught up with him.


Who are you? What do you want?Seroc demanded with a growl, his green eyes fixed on the newcomers. Though he tried not to show it, he was afraid. Both of the other dragons were bigger and stronger than him and the young dragon knew he could not take them. He was afraid not just for himself but for his unarmed rider.

Anthor frowned and looked at Violeta and Gornath and said, "What kind of a rider does not know the Ancient Language?" asked the rider rhetorically. He sighed and said, "Repeat after me." and when he had finished the sentence saying that he did not serve Galbatorix in the ancient language, he waited on the two of them to repeat it.

OOC: I am too lazy to look up the entire sentence, you can just say that they said it.

Paito replied, "It is nice to meet you. I've never met another rider or dragon before."
nodded and replied to Gornath's question, "I know how to ride. In fact, it is probably one of the few things I can do. My saddle is over there. he pointed to the saddle, which rested against the tree.


Seroc added, We have been living alone since I hatched. We have never had anyone to teach us. We have been surviving by instinct these past few years.

Paito explained that his family had been traveling traders and how his father had been kidnapped by slavers. He told how he had found Seroc's egg in an abandoned Rider outpost along with a spell book.

Violeta nodded and looked to her companions, who she addressed privately. [b][i]Perhaps we could teach them some basic rider skills, at least enough to survive. I don't want them to end up in the hands of the Empire.

Curses!!! Seroc shouted in frustration as Gornath escaped once again. The dragon watched as Gornath climbed high into the sky and at Paito's urging, gave chase. As they climbed higher, the air became cooler and thinner and before long, Paito began to have trouble breathing in the increasingly thin atmosphere.

Paito quickly thought of a solution to the problem. using an air gathering spell, he created a bubble of breathable air around himself. It was a simple spell that did not require a large amount of energy, but every bit of energy was going to count here. Seroc, being a dragon, did not seem to be having a problem breathing in the thin air.

It took a long time, but Seroc finally reached the altitude where Gornath was. He flew toward them but the thin air did not seem to cooperate. His broad wings were not generating much speed or lift at this high altitude.

My what a grand view there is from up here... Violeta mused, looking at the mountains below, which looked like nothing more than anthills. She did not want to admit it, but even she was finding it difficult to fly way up here. Lightning dragons were definitely not built for extremely high altitudes.

"Oh this was a very bad idea indeed..." Paito muttered as the dragon went into a steep dive and began picking up speed. Paito held on for dear life as Gornath accelerated. Cursing his stupidity, Paito rabbed hole of one of the dragon's spikes and didn't let go. This was the only vertical object that he could hold on to.


Seroc followed Gornath into the dive and watched the dragon's movements carefully. He knew that Gornath would have to pull out of the dive and when he did, Seroc planned to make his next move. However, things were now complicated by the fact that his rider was on Gornath. Seroc folded his wings back to increase his speed. He would need perfect timing and accuracy to make this work. A blur of violet zipped past as mysterious furry dragonss caught up with Gornath.
Violeta had mentioned a rider but Seroc could see no rider with her. Then he decided to return his attention to Gornath and prepared to make his move...

Violeta let out a growling chuckle as she saw the young rider trade dragons. It reminded her of something foolish and rash that she would have done in her youth. Being a dragon, she wouldn't have attempted a stunt exactly like this, however, it would have been something equally as foolish. The lightning folder her wings back and let her streamlined body slice through the air with incredible speed, allowing her to keep pace with Gornath's dive. She quickly passed Seroc and wanted to make a witty comment about how slow he was, but decided against it.

Paito fired an arrow back at the archers that were shooting at him. He managed to take down two in rapid succession but was forced to duck when another volley of arrows were sent his way.


Violeta released another firebolt upon the soldiers but she knew she couldn't keep it up for long. Every firebolt she used consumed ten times more energy than even her regular lightning bolts. The ball of hot lightning instantly killed several soldiers outright and set more on fire as it exploded. Violeta opened her jaws again and began to fire regular lightning bolts at individual targets. The crackling sound of electricity filled the air with each burst of lightning and the soldiers appeared to be losing their nerve. Gradually their numbers were thinning. The dragoness looked around to see if there were any soldiers still hiding anywhere. The ground around her was littered with chard and smoking bodies.

"I must say, I wasn't expecting to find three dragon here." the magician, who had recovered from Violeta's attack, said with an overconfident smirk as he confronted Anthor and Paito. "I came here for that female, but I'm sure the king will find use for you as well."

Natagath Looked up at the man who was now pointing an arrow directly at his eye. The elf took a deep sigh and stated fluently in the Ancient Language, "Peace, Rider. I serve no one. I am called Natagath and at one time I was a rider just as you are now."

The elf made an attempt to sit up but his exhausted body could not support the weight of the suit.

Natagath explained, "This city was my home before Galbatorix and his ilk destroyed it. I fought here during The Downfall of the Dragon Riders. I was captured but my dragon escaped. Galbatorix was furious and he tortured me without mercy but still I tried to resist. He placed me in this metal suit for my defiance and sealed me inside with magic. He branded me with his mark because he wanted people to hate me. Then that monster cast me aside like yesterday's rubbish to face the world alone."

"So, you can't just take the suit off?" Paito asked, looking at the strange man who had identified himself as a Dragon Rider.

"No, I can not. Galbatorix sealed me inside this monstrosity. However, I think I may have figured a way out of it. I can not do it alone though. I will need your help. I have been trapped in this armor for over fifty years!"

Natagath sighed and spoke again, "It may be hard for you to believe, but I am an elf underneath all this metal."


Paito looked at him sympathetically and asked, "if you truly are a Dragon Rider then I would be glad to help any way I can."

Natagath explained, "These glowing orbs on my suit contain magic energy. I believe that they also contain the spells that bind me to this suit. When you smashed one of them earlier, it broke the spell that allowed me to carry the weight of this suit. I think if you smash the rest of them, you will break the spell binding me to it."

Why can you not simply destroy them yourself if it is that simple? Seroc asked.

"Because, dragon, the evil king forced me to swear not to destroy the suit. That doesn't mean that someone else can't do it though. Look, I know that none of you owe me anything, but I would be eternally grateful if you helped me. I want nothing more than to be free from this horrid prison and to find my beloved dragon. I know she is alive out there somewhere.

Paito then asked out of curiosity, "What was your dragon's name"

"She is called Violeta. She is a lightning dragon and I would be lying if I said I didn't think she was the most beautiful dragon in the world.

"I know her! She traveled here with us!" Paito shouted in surprise. He turned to Anthor and said, "We should tell her about this. She has a right to know that her Rider is alive. If you help him, I'll go and find Violeta."

Antho nodded to the young rider and asked the elf who was encased in armour, "So, what does it take to break these bonds?" asked the rider as he pushed his sleeves back. He was prepaired to use magic, blade, or arrow to help this elf.
