Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I have it! It has no flaws that I've found.
I have every character on the list at GameFAQs except Sonic, Wolf, and Toon Link (Link from WindWaker).

I like Game and Watch, he is fun because he is so different compared to the other characters. The frame by frame movement is neat. Yeah, my friend got it on Sunday, and he has about two characters left. With SSBM it took me about a year to unlock all the characters... Of course, I wasn't playing it nonstop. I don't have it, because playing it would require a Wii, which I do not have the money for

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Well, my friend doesn't sleep, so that might have something to do with it. I know I wouldn't play it all the time, because my head would start to hurt. I mean, to do all that stuff they either have to be ridiculously skilled, or stay up all night. I have only done that a couple of times with friends, and I wanted to kill myself the next morning.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I'm really close to unlocking all the characters, but maybe that's because I already beat Adventure mode. You get everyone except Toon Link and Wolf from that, so you can get all the characters pretty quickly.
God. I've been playing this game with every spare moment I have. The only reason I'm not playing now is because my brother is playing Classic mode at the moment.

WE ARE OPENING BRAWL TODAY!!!! I can't wait to play it! It looks soooo fun! I heard Ike is the best player in the game according to some magazine thing, I think he got a 9/10 which was the highest out of all the players. That thing was prolly just saying that cuz they like Ike, though, because I kno there are plenty of other sweet players in that game who are def gonna b a challenge

and the Subspace Emissary addition was an excellent one! it's a whole new exciting adventure! it's so cool to see all the new characters come in at different times! i cant imagine how the game wud be w/o the S.E.! wow, Melee is so boring compared to this game! and another thing that surprises me is the graphics! they're just amazing!!! they're the best i've seen in my life! every single level has a unique background and detailed designs! it must have taken so long and hard to make! now i know why they kept on delaying the release date..... by the way, this is the best game i've ever played!

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Confirmed: GanondorfSmash Bros Site wrote: "The demon thief Ganondorf has returned! He’s the largest and bulkiest of all human-type characters.
His movement, his attack capability—everything feels weighted. Ganondorf’s attacks land with heavy thunks, which gives him a very unique feel.
How to unlock
• Play 200 matches or more in Brawl • Using either Zelda or Link, clear Classic on Hard difficulty or higher • Get Ganondorf to join your party in The Subspace Emissary (To do that, save Link and Zelda in Subspace toward the end of the adventure. Ganondorf appears after you clear the stage.)
With the exception of the last of the three methods listed above, you’ll need to face Ganondorf in a brawl and beat him after satisfying the above conditions to unlock him.
In the last game, Ganondorf appeared with a stout build, so he’s got a middle-aged guy’s body here, as well.
His techniques are rendered with his stoutness in mind—they’re bitter and tough.
He runs while panting... "Uff uff uff!"
A piercing kick! He blasts the opponent sideways.
Down Taunt: Ganondorf draws a sword.
He takes out the sword he stole from the six Sages and takes a look at it.
... Then puts it away.
What are you putting it away for? Use it! People tend to make fun of Ganondorf for this.
<Side Special Move: Flame Choke>
On the ground, he grabs the opponent’s head and thumps it down.
In the air, he immediately slams the foe earthward!
As you end up close to the opponent lying on the ground, neither you nor your foe should let your guard down. Try a follow-up attack, or get up and fight—if not, dodge away from your enemy and unleash your counterattack.
It’s relatively easy to make successful standard attacks against bulkier, larger opponents.
<Up Special Move: Dark Dive>
Jump here...
If the opponent stays close, you’ll grab and electrify him.
If the opponent is far off, hit him with the Darkness from your hand.
Attacks that burn the opponent like charcoal are classified as "Darkness". If a sticker has a Darkness effect, it refers to any attack that Ganondorf uses to char the opponent. His standard special move Warlock Punch and down special move Wizard’s Foot are also Darkness attacks.
<Ganondorf Final Smash: Beast Ganon>
He transforms into a massive demon beast and charges!!
Beyond the fleeting moment of its effect, it’s a visually striking and terrifying attack.
Trans...FORM!!!
Roarrrrrrrrrr!
Charge!
The effect lasts only a split second, but what an impact. Whoa.
Those who have used Ganondorf may have noticed this... His roar has the effect of paralyzing enemies who are right in front of him.
This affects only those who are standing on solid ground. If you want to dodge this, I’d suggest using a jump or something to keep your feet off the ground.
He can bury opponents as a result of his transformation. Seriously?"

Personally, I can't stand Ganondorf. He moves way to slow for me, and he can't jump for crap. But that's me.
Those of you who have it, who's you're best character? My brother and friends tell me mine's Sonic, so I'll go with that.

LINK!!! he's just my player no doubt about it. i hate Sonic and Olimar!!! oh gosh those Pikmin annoy the hell out of me........Meta Knight's actually really good too. Ganandorf is definitely too slow to use in my opinion lol
what levels do you guys like? or what's your favorite? i simply CANNOT choose, they're all really good. and i was like whoaaa when i first saw the graphics! like every level has some kind of background/design and you can just tell how much work was put into making the game. i'd have to say my favorite is Bridge of Eldin and Delfino Plaza. and Pokemon Stadium 2 is so cool and improved from the first one also Ice Climber's level is really cool, MUCH better than Icicle Mountain

lol true that! My best character is Marth, but I also use Captain Falcon. My favorite stages are Spear Pillar, Lylat Cruise, Final Destination, Battlefield, Delfino Plaza, and many more! lol They're all so good in this game! And I like playing in the Melee stages too! Except they haen't improved the graphics of them!
P.S. Did you see the graphics for the background of Final Destination?? They're ridiculously amazing!

Ya there are tons of awesome levels in this game! In Melee we only used to play in like 2 or 3 stages, but now we can hardly pick so we have to put it on random! Lol

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
My favorite new stage is definitely Spear Pillar. I don't know, why, I just love that level. I also like going to the Castle Siege level.
I thought the Melee stage's graphics were improved quite a bit. Not like completely redone, just enhanced.
We don't use random, though, we set it on turns, so my brother doesn't whine that he never gets to pick a stage.

Did anybody here beat the whole Subspace Emissary yet? We haven't yet, but we're about 70% done. It's pretty fun! I can't wait to get Wolf, Toon Link, and Jigglypuff! I hear Wolf's stronger than Fox and Falco. Alphabetsoup, are you able to battle people online?

i use Pikachu (w/ the green headband ) most of the time. but the problem is, there are so many good players in that game, i'm constantly changing!

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
@Arya: Do you know how to get those three?
Wolf- replay Ruins stage in SSE after beating it and fight him at the end. Toon Link- replay Forest stage in SSE after beating it and fight him in the end. Jigglypuff- replay Swamp stage in SSE after beating it and fight her in the end.
I guess anyone can use those!
@Sokka: Yeah, Wolf's stronger, but his jump lacks a bit and he's somewhat slower. My Wii won't hook up to the internet, so I can't play online yet.
I have all 35 characters and... uh, 41 stages. I was never big on trophy collecting, but I'll try and collect a lot of them. I have over 200 songs, but I don't know how many there are. And I don't like stickers that much.

Yeah, we have to beat Subspace Emissary first, so we can't rly get those 3 players yet. We're about 75% done tho.
Does anyone know what those random papers that are always appearing are for? Like, you know, when ur battling, and then this random piece of paper falls to the floor, like what's it for? To get u trophies or sumthing?
P.S. @alpha (the new name I'm going to call u lol) Is there hope of u getting Wifi soon?

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Those papers are stickers. Here's the smashbros.com page on it.Those aren't the only way to get the characters. Well, if you haven't beaten SSE yet, the only one you can get is Jigglypuff- beat events #1-20. I cleared SSE with about 80%, so you're close. The last level is The Great Maze, and I completed the whole SSE in about 7 and 1/2 hours. And no, I don't think I'll get Wifi soon. I might see if I can hook it up this weekend, but maybe not. My network is frustrating. (And the name's fine! XD)

Sounds like you guys didn't fight him on easy! I did, and was... easy. But me and my friend did Boss Battle Mode afterward on Normal, and he was a lot more difficult.
Good Luck!

Wow...i'm so far behind. I've only got about 1:30 minutes into Subspace Emissary and about 15% done.
I put a lot of my time into normal brawls. Also I beat all the challenges on easy and normal.

@Toph: No, I didn't find Ike either. Neither did my brother when he went through a second time.
I've beaten all events on easy (co-op included). I did a few other things, but mainly I was trying to get all the characters and stages.

I prefer to do everything on easy first, because then I can go through on medium and hard aswell. It makes it last longer. I'd rather take my time with a game then rush through it and get bored with it right away.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Smash Bros. Site wrote: The Subspace Emissary: The Great Maze
As you play deeper into The Subspace Emissary, you’ll at last confront the Great Maze. This is the vast space that the final boss created. Clear this stage and you complete the entire adventure! This is truly the very last fortress.
You’ll brawl against bosses and shadow characters of the fighters while proceeding through the areas.
Pause in the Great Maze to see the map.
On the map, the spots blinking in pink or yellow are the save points.
There are four pink spots and five yellow ones. They’re all crucial, since they’ll serve as your bases of operation.
If you enter this gate, you can go to a save point.
This is a save point.
You’ll restore your health, and if you overlap with the Smash Bros. logo in the middle, you can either save, manage your stickers, or select different characters.
The warp zones on both sides will allow you to warp to other save points. They connect you to pink save points in the upper right, lower right, upper left, and lower left of the map. The area where you are now, or any area you haven’t found, will not be displayed.
You can also go right into the Smash Bros. logo in the middle to warp.
As you see here.
Caution. The yellow save points can’t be used for warping.
You can’t even choose the Back to Map option.
Right after you enter the Great Maze, the entire map will not be visible to you—it gradually fills in as you trek along. As such, sometimes you may find yourself at a loss as to where your next foe is.
Don't think too hard about things, though—just keep moving forward. Once you've taken a full lap around the place, the positions of your foes should appear.
That’s where they are!
Each one of your foes serves as a key to the final gate located in the middle of the map.
If you go in there, you’ll meet the final boss at last. More power to you!

Oh yes, the Great Maze! Man that was a long and grueling part of the game!! Took so long lol...and a lot of skill, too. It's so dumb tho, where on earth is Ike??? It's impossible to find him!!! Is he like locked or sumthing? I mean, come on, he's my player!!!

I can't believe i'm saying this but...I love Olimar!!! He's probably one of my favorite characters. Great variety of attacks, in like 30 seconds I can get a level 9 character 200 damage.

I didn't find Ike in The Great Maze either.
I like using Olimar, but I completely s_uck with him.
I've used Ike, I'm just not very good with him. I usually use Link or Sonic. (Speaking of which, how do you guys like Sonic now that you have him?)
I don't usually use Captain Falcon, but I'm okay with Pikachu.
And is it just me, or is Snake a completely lousy character?

Lol, I guess Snake is OK, I don't usually use him though. My main character is Ike, but sometimes I also use Meta Knight or Pit. Even Pikachu, Marth, Link, and Captain Falcon. Have u guys used Wolf? He's rly good too! I think he's better than both Fox and Falco combined!
Ok, so no one on here has found Ike again in Subspace, so where is he?? This is so dumb! Maybe that's why we're only 84% done...

I like Wolf, but I'm not really good with him. Love his taunts though!
In SSE. the green flag on a level means you fully completed it. So I'm guessing to get 100%, you have to get the green flag on every stage.

yeah on our map some of the stages have this like glowing crown or something. does that mean we haven't finished those yet? because we have green flags in all the other stages....

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I'd guess. I don't really know.
Did you guys notice that Falco sounds Italian when you use his taunts? Like "Hands off my prey!" He sounds like he's from the Italian mafia.
Have you guys used Ganondorf yet? If you have, you probably noticed how he runs. His run (and G&W's) cracks me up every time I see it.
And do you guys get any kills in Cruel Brawl? As soon as go in there, I get gang beat for about 30 seconds and then I die.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Use Falco's down taunt (2 with the Wiimote/Nunchuk). He'll say it.
You know, Ganondorf does run like CM! I still don't like to use him.
King Dedede is weird period. His Final Smash is just stupid. It's good, but stupid. He's so slow he's almost useless. The one thing he has going for him is power. If you hit someone once, they take, like, 40 some damage. I guess, Ganondorf is the same, but whatev....
I was just thinking: now that co-op is available, Cruel Brawl might not be as difficult.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Yeah, it's in Multi-Man Brawl. Gonna try it now... (I'll edit this post)
Okay, that was hard (big understatement). I tried it twice as Sonic and killed one guy, and twice as Link and killed no one. It's not even funny how hard it is! It's like your damage ratio is on 2.0 and theirs is on 0.5. And one of the rewards is kill five people in that! I hope it works on co-op...

@Cruel Brawl- really hard (check my post up there ^).
I've made my own stage. It's pretty stupid, but it's there. And I built dome stages out of my Nintendo Power Magazine they had diagrams of, and those are pretty good. But mine s_ucks.

You don't have to do Classic to unlock anyone.
And All-Star is the same as the last game, pretty much.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Yeah, I've played All-Star. It's basically the same as it was in Melee. Only there's groups now. Like, you'd fight the 4 Zelda characters in one arena, two at a time. Then you'd move on to Mario, or something like that. Other than the grouping aspect it's the same.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
This concludes the final character of all the Veteran Fighters out there! Only two more Newcomers to be announced!
Confirmed: Jigglypuff
How to unlock:
• Play 400 brawls • Beat 20 or more Events after clearing The Subspace Emissary • Pass through the hidden door in The Swamp area after completing The Subspace Emissary
In order to unlock Jigglypuff, you must satisfy one of the above conditions and then beat Jigglypuff in a brawl.Smash Bros Site wrote: "Jigglypuff, the Balloon Pokémon, is one of the few characters who has been in every game in the series to date.
Float, roll, and sleep your way to victory using a fighting style completely unique to Jigglypuff.
Jigglypuff has neither a long reach nor a lot of power to its attacks. On top of that, it’s not a particularly fast runner and is extremely easy to KO because of how light it is.
At a glance, Jigglypuff seems like an utterly flawed character, but the truth is that Jigglypuff has a few abilities that balance things out, like its superior midair capabilities.
On top of the ability to jump five consecutive times in the air, Jigglypuff’s midair acceleration and top speed are in a class by themselves, making Jigglypuff the ultimate midair brawler.
It’s faster than running, so jump, jump, jump. Small jumps are best.
<Standard Special Move: Rollout>
Charge up your spin in place...
Then roll out at top speed!
It’s really easy to KO yourself with this move if you don’t know how to handle it, but the intense speed of Rollout makes it a move worth mastering.
If you’re vigilant in guiding Jigglypuff by pressing forward and backward, you shouldn’t have to worry about flying wildly off the edge of a stage.
And did I mention it’s a great recovery move?
<Up Special Move: Sing>
Most up special moves are recovery techniques. Jigglypuff’s up special move won’t help you recover, but it does have the power to put your enemy to sleep.
You can’t put airborne enemies to sleep, so watch where you sing.
The more damage your slumbering opponent has taken, the longer they’ll remain asleep. If you’re lucky enough to land Sing on an opponent with relatively high damage, you’ve got a free pass to follow up with Rest.
<Down Special Move: Rest>
Pwaaaang!
This is Jigglypuff’s other saving grace. Unleash Rest on an opponent when you’re overlapping him or her and watch ‘em go flying!
Not only does Rest hit hard, but connecting with the attack will sprout a flower on the opponent’s head, causing damage to accumulate for a short while.
It’s...true.
Ah, but compared to the last Smash Bros. game, Rest has had its power reduced, hasn’t it?
<Final Smash: Puff Up>
This is Jigglypuff’s saving grace number three. This move can be devastating if you fire it up in the right spot!
Break that Smash Ball!!
Jigglypuff puffs up!!
Then puffs up bigger still!!
And then one massive hit!
This one’s a real killer. If you’re playing on a smaller stage, you can expect stunning results from Puff Up. It’s also quite a stunner visually.
The attack does, however, lose a little of its potency on larger stages."

Toon Link's Basically a Link clone, but I think Wolf's different enough that he's not a Fox/Falco clone. Didn't they sat there weren't gonna be more clones? Maybe I'm thinking of something else...

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
@Wolvie- Oh, I forgot you already knew all the unlockables, that's why I didn't say lol
Toon Link is pretty much a clone of Link, except that he is sort of weaker, and there are slight differences in his moves. I think his A down is different, like he can't hold it for too long or something? Wolf is really different from Fox/Falco. He is much stronger, but still fast. The final smash is really the same, but his B move has a lesser range and his B up move is different...
I think Captain Falcon=Ganondorf, they had really similar moves in Melee, but I think that's changed a bit in Brawl

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
They changed Ganondorf. His moves attack differently, but espcially his up-B.
All the ones listed are pretty much clones though. Well, at least we didn't have Dr. Mario again. He was practically an exact clone.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Did you guys try any masterpieces? God most of those games are pathetic compared to the ones we have now. Ocarina of Time was still fun for its five minute trial, though.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
i tried the F-Zero masterpiece, and it was actually slightly entertaining for it's 30-second trial.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
lol It gives you barely enough time to play it! Oh well, they aren't even fun anyway! They're such old games! And why would you want to play them when you're playing such a good game- Brawl! lol

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
A few of the games showcased are quite good. (Ocarina of Time for example : that's probably my favorite game - or tied with Brawl.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Confirmed: Toon Link
"It’s Link’s other incarnation—Toon Link. He has a slightly comical expression and big, catlike eyes.
But with his light footwork and variety of colorful weapons, he's not to be trifled with!"
How to unlock:
• Play 400 brawls • After clearing The Subspace Emissary, clear Classic mode • After clearing The Subspace Emissary, enter the hidden door in The Forest
Toon Link will appear as a challenger for all of these conditions. You must defeat him to unlock him.
Smash Bros. Site wrote:
Those who have played Link should enjoy playing Toon Link, too. As a rule, the special moves are the same.
The abilities themselves have various differences, but in the main, the only things that have changed are the following:
He runs fast!!
His attacks are speedier, but at the expense of more modest strength.
He’s lighter in the air—like a feather!
His head is bigger, but his body is smaller!
He doesn’t use kicks!
Well, I guess his legs are a little too short... All he can do with his feet is throw people judo-style.
His most distinctive midair attack is the downward strike. This down midair attack causes him to dive onto opponents, so it’s great in battle.
Strike from above!!
Also, he’ll take a step forward when he does a second side smash attack. Ah, it feels so good.
His range of attack to the rear is good too.
<Side Special Move: Boomerang>
You can change the way the boomerang travels with this attack. Aim up or down by tilting the Control Stick up or down. That much is the same as Link.
However, this isn’t the Gale Boomerang, so it doesn’t wrap foes up. It does have the ability to go extremely vertical, so it’s a more adaptable throwing weapon.
Of course, the design is different, too.
<Down Special Move: Bomb>
Toon Link’s bombs are also a little different from Link’s.
Look at the smoke from the explosion!
The attack strength of Toon Link’s bombs is lower than Link’s, but the big difference is that since no one can see them well, they tend to take a brief glance and think they’re weak attacks.
But since the blast radius is greater than many people judge, it's easy to hit with these bombs...and easy to get caught in their explosions yourself. Use them with care.
The blast radius is twice as big as Link’s.
<Final Smash: Triforce Slash>
This move doesn’t differ much from Link’s, so use it in the same way.
The Triforce effect also gets a kind of Toon-ish feel.
As with Link, there’s one secret to hitting with this Final Smash.
The beam that shoots out and launches the attack has a long range, so in order to reduce the risk of losing the Smash Ball, many people try to put some distance between themselves and the opponents before using it.
However, if an enemy is right in front of you, it’s easier to aim and the attack can also cause momentary paralysis, so you may want to close in. Plan to use it as you would a counter move or strong attack.
The enemy gets caught and the beam flashes out!
Don’t think you have to use it as soon as you get the Smash Ball. If you use the boomerang or something to stun an enemy first, you'll surely be able to hit with ease.
Also, I think Toon Link is good to use against bosses, but other people don’t seem to think so. A matter of taste, perhaps?
Deal with the likes of Duon and Porky with downward strikes!
Waiting for just one more newcomer...: Wolf!

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
No, not yet. I haven't really been trying to get it up and running though.
So, did you guys find a new best character? I'm still good with Sonic, but now I'm quite good with Link, too.
The weird thing is, I'm no good with Toon Link. They're basically the same, but I can't play as Toon Link.

I'm best with Link, I just can't use anyone else lol. Honestly, I think Toon Link is horrible. He's the same as Link only smaller and s.uckier!

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
My brother prefers Toon Link to Link. The thing I hate about him most is his aerial Down-A. I can't hit anything with that! Link's aerial Down-A is better to me because you can maneuver it in midair and if you're off course, you can move and you're not screwed.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Oh yeah, that downward-stab-like-thing? That's my cheapest move
oh woooowwww....we just figured out that a green flag means you beat the level but a crown means you beat it completely. so we have to go through each level again and kill every single enemy now.....

Re: Super Smash Bros. Brawl
You should, it's awesome!
And I know I already told you, but to clarify for everyone else, the PM is being written. It's a lot of typing.
@IMNC: I can't connect at all, so...
