To answer an earlier problem...

Eragon wouldn't necessarily have to carry the Eldunari with him. He would just have to stay close enough to contact them with his mind, because when he gathers energy with his mind, that's what he's doing. He draws it into himself with his mind. (Which is why he freaked the first time he did it, because the nearby animals were hard hit by the energy loss.) But if he was drawing it off of a large group of Eldunari, he wouldn't need the energy from the animals.

What if the RoK and VoS are in the Spine?

The one place I'm sure the VoS might not be is in the Beor mountains, because the dwarves would have found it.

I don't think so although it's possible. Your right about the Beors though. The dwarves would have found it if the RoK was there. The Spine, maybe. Du Weldenvarden, probably. RoK sounded familiar to Arya when Eragon told her what Solembum said.

i don't know if this has been mentioned or where you guys are at in your conversation, but Oromis, I beleive it was, said that in order to the Elduari to assist a person they have to agree to help. So maybe Eragon and Saphira and Glaedr will convince the ones helping Galby to stop helping him and assist them. Because maybe that was their only way from going completely insane inside their crystal

they dont have to agree, they can be broken into and be forced to your will, which happened to galbys eldunaris. eragon will probably find the RoK and speak his true name and get all of its eldunaris

Who will tell him his true name? Quoting Eragon the book, "'Riders usually went on quests to discover it-or found an elf who would tell them, which is rare, for elves don't distribute that knowledge freely,' replied Brom." So if an elf won't tell him who will, unless he stumbles upon it himself, not likely though. And to get the Eldunaris away from Galbatorix, Eragon would have to enter Uru'baen which is nigh impossible unless he got Brom's talent for disguising himself and even if he didn't have to enter the capital of the Empire, Eragon wouldn't dare probe Uru'baen with his mind, for fear Gallbatorix would take a hold of him. So how would he get the Eldunaris from Galby unless he killed Galby? The only option I see is the RoK/VoS. But he has to have his TN, which he doesn't know as of now. How, how, how? Tell me.

Once again, how could it mean something else? Quoting Eragon book again, "Then, when all seems lost and your power is insufficient, go to the Rock of Kuthian and speak your name to open the Vault of Souls." That is exactly what Solembum said. What else could he have meant?

"When the time comes and you need a weapon, look under the roots of the Menoa tree." Solembum told Eragon that, and when Eragon needed it, he found the brightsteel. The only other thing that I can think of that Solembum could have meant is just to say, "Eragon Shadelsayer, Bromsson." idk but that's the only other thing I could think of. Or to make Eragon say, "Eragon (his TN), Bromsson." Other than that, I don't see anything else he could have meant.

"...speak your name...." That's what Solembum said. I just copied that from my edition of Eragon. It should be correct. But yeah, Solembum said, "...speak your name to open the Vault of Souls."

he could actually speak his name *eragon walks to RoK "eragon bromsson" and a huge vault opens up, eragon could guess his TN, he could mentally go through all of his memories and then guess, or have arya do it

idk. But I do know that Solembum didn't tell Eragon which name to say, like he didn't tell Eragon what was under the Menoa tree. But I do like your theory, ruben-elda.

she could, with his permission, look through his memories, and the need will eventually b great, according to solembum's prophecy, and she would tell, him, elves dont distribute THEIR OWN TN's freely, but arya knows and likes eragon enough to tell him anyway so. . .

if she looked at his memories, then she would "know" him better and b able to guess

@ruben-elda: Oromis is dead. Glaedr wouldn't tell him unless the name was great and he was over Oromis's death, that's assuming Eragon can contact him in the Eldunari.

Anyway, Arya wouldn't tell him his TN unless the need was great. That's what I think. And about the elves not distributing their TN's freely, I suggest you reread the part in Eragon the book where Brom and Eragon are talking about the significance of names, eragonrules990.

i read that part the day b4 i posted that, the elves keep their names a secret, but would only tell someone that they were close to the name of that person (eragon and arya)

i dont think eragon will steal galby's eldunaris, theyre probably super protected with spells to prevent stealing, and i think that the VoS has a bunch of eldunaris in it, enough to over ride galby.

Yeah, but Eragon1 lived thousands of years ago, who knows, he might have used a super powerful word from the al to make the RoK and VoS completely undetectable unless somebody like Eragon2 tries to open it.

OK about the VoS=eldunari thing pay attention to the name vault of SOULS

Eldunari contain souls of dragons... so if anything you are proving it does conatin eldunari. I like the Idea that the original Eragon sealed the vault maybe they share true names as well as normal names.

I think it is unlikely that he will succeed in stealing the egg from Galby I recall in one of the books someone possibly Brom saying that after the first egg was stolen Galby made the other two so secure that it would be sucide to try to retrieve them or something like that. Please don't ask me for the page number I have no idea which page it would be on or even which chapter it would be in.

i think eragon have to smash all the eldunari's in galby possession coz dragon are wise, smart and strong so galby had definitely used dark magic to control their minds and there energy to bid his evil wishes, so i think dragon are so deep in this that they will tell eragon to smash it so no one in future will use it coz idea is already there thanks to evil galby so we cant be sure that after a while people wont be greedy and want to control the world so its best that he should smash it.

i know i am talking abt when they are doing the final battle and everything is choas and galby is busy with other things eragon or arya or the new dragon rider can go and smash it. may be joed can help them by finding the secret way in his castle they had already done once so they can do it again i agree it will be dangerous but they can.

may be but oromis did tell eragon that to make shrukian ( sorry for name if i misspelled it) that he used some magic to gain control in eldest. so he did use some unspoken or evil magic to gain dragon, coz dragon have immense strength and power so he has to use the dark magic to control someone as ancient and wise and powerful.

i agree. but galby cant have all the true names of the dragons. and they were bonded to there riders even if they are dead or being killed by him. thats my point, he may be guessed the true name but i think he had used some dark magic.

You also have to remember that Galby is an expert at breaking into people's minds and at guessing true names.

in the books it says that the riders where warned about Galbatorix because he passed his training so quickly and that when he launched his attack on the riders he was already a master at breaking into other people's minds.

rider's training does not include breaking into people's minds he may have just been naturally gifted, though I agree he would get better with experience like breaking into the minds of hundreds of dragons.

may be galby get his experience when he was secluded and conjure a shade or some evil and learn from them, because its pretty clear that riders didnt teach him how to break ones mind and guess true name. i still believe that eragon will just have smash them all.

Eragon came across Sloan's name by pure chance when he had gone off on a tangent it was not a process he had been taught. Rider training is specifically structured so that riders where aware that breaking into people's minds without good reason would be met with the strictest consequences.
