Is there a way that I might be able to become a moderator here? I was just wondering. :oops: :?

I think you'd make a fine mod... but im not sure if they need anymore mods at the moment ... idk maybe for when the movie comes out they might need more for the mad rush of new comers

Hmm... *thinking* apart of do we need another mod or not.. I think there're several ways to give a shot...

1. you should make friends to the admins (louis, glenwing, or hitnrunner) to the level of regular PM, or regular msn chat --> but pleeasee do it sincerely !

2. more importantly,, show your value in your posts by:

* following the rules
* show a responsible behaviour
* encourage other folks to follow the rule (without being bossy—tricky, huh :P )
* 'famous' amongst members ^^
* the rest of the members somewhat listen to you (eventhough you're not a mod)
* post interesting things (or be creative)
* not post just because the sake of posting (if you know what I mean)

Well.. overally,, just do your best,, and hope the rest of the existing team (mostly the admins) will 'recognize' you and your potential.

However.. it is not something we can "act" on... It has to be already in you. The whole package.

Anyone want to add ?

No, I think you got it all, and there are some people that I think would make great moderators. And im not really "famous" among the members lol, I think it was because i RPed a lot.

The point is, u have to be truly dedicated on the forum. :D

well i'm not advising specificly for Pomfret,, literally my opinion (if I were an admin I would chose moderators based on some criterias)

It's true shade,,.. and dedication is not something we can 'fake' :o

Precisely, but don't be pushy either- you know, don't keep asking. Just casually be helpful and all that, and you may well get chosen if more mods are ever needed. :D Personally, I think you would make a great mod, but of course, you can't apply for the job or anything- you get asked by Louis and the other admins. So... be nice :megreen: (Yah, I have no clue how I ever got the position lol)

This his one think that I don't like talking about here.

You can complain, tell how you hate me, how bad the forum his and I will most probably listen, but mod questions I am not so good.

The reason is that I don't have guidelines, rules, or anything. I just choose with the advise of glenwing and HitNRunner who I think would help SF

maybe you could be one of the mods that accept bios, because there are only two right now and there are alot of aplications to go through.

Joining the fashionably late group as usual...

Pomfret would make a great mod. First going through Fathskie's list, I can put a large, red check beside everything listed. From the time that he joined, I can never remember him really breaking a rule. Or at least, not any more than the rest of us do. I also have yet to see a post from Pomfret that appears irresponsible; actually, most of his seem to be very responsible. Most of the time, just following rules is the easiest way to suggest it indirectly; in this way, and probably several others, Pomfret has definitely encouraged others to follow the rules. Among our members, Pomfret is certainly one of the better known members (no further elaboration needed). He is also a very influential member, and as far as i can tell, gets the least resistance of any of the people who probably want to be mods. Pomfret is always creative. Not just in RPs, but also in chat, and other topics. He's one of the few that I would say posts original ideas, not just what everyone else posted first. We don't really need to "act" on it. From past experience at forums, Pomfret already has it it "in" him.

Going through what I would look for were I a staffing director...

√  Courtesy
√  Responsibility
√  Ability to be strict if nessecary
√  Sense of what is and isn't against a rule
√  Composure if unnexpectedly challenged. (e.g. out of nowhere, someone starts shouting
             [explicit language] at you. Do you return the language, or ask them to calm down?)
√ Sounds Educated
√ Isn't overly aggressive; doesn't accuse when nothing or very little actually happened.
√ Won't abuse power
√ Will continue to post as they used to. In other words, just because you are hired doesn't
             nessecarily mean that we want you to become an old grouch, or stop posting regularly.
√ Acts like a mod. (Not "hy u guy pls need 2 stop spamming plz")
√ Would probably still be friendly, or unchanged, when not fullfilling a duty of moderation

All I can think of for now.

By the way Pita, that's the RPG team. It's quite different from being a mod. The RPG team has authority over the game, but is generally just a normal member elsewhere. A global mod has authority over the regular forums, but isn't really supposed to preside over the RPG in any way.
