Anteya Wildflight ~ COMPLETE
Name: Anteya Wildflight [known as Teya]
Age: 14
Gender: female
Skills: - music: Teya sings and plays a stringed instrument not dissimilar to a sitar, called a zeitra. She has been learning it from her mother since a young age, although she much prefers to sing than play. - dancing: Teya loves to dance, and has been doing so since she was young. She feels above the world when she dances, and her mother locks the door in the evenings to stop her from going outside and practising in front of their house for hours into the night. Due to her strength from this, she has found fighting skills relatively simple to pick up, although she hates them. - magic: although everyone appears to have some connection with magic, Teya's connection is from her father's side, and she can only easily control some spell types. She finds the mental control from magic easy to control, and also loves to sing into things, particularly the trees; it is certain other skills she finds more difficult, and her youth obviously prevents her from her full potential, as she is still really a child.
Race: elf
Hair: very dark brown, dead straight, falling to her waistline
Eyes: green, although the pupils are ringed in pale gold, and the outer edges of the irises are a very dark blue
Home Village: Ellesmera
Parents: Marielle [nee Woodward] and Starnin Wildflight
Siblings: none
Character Personality: Teya is rather quiet and reserved, but laughs just the same as all the elves, and loves to do so. She is rather quick of temper but struggles to control it and stay polite within her society, where this is most important. It is only when her ideas clash with others that she loses her temper, and she always thinks she is right. Although often true, she knows she must learn to control herself more carefully. She is very dedicated to the things she pursues and hates to be anything but perfect. She is not overly self-obsessed but she is adamant about her appearance being unmarred by anything she can avoid. She is very thin, but this is no magical spell cast upon her but rather a gruelling reigime of what she eats, when she eats, and the exercises of both her dancing and fighting training that keeps her staying this way. Even though she could easily control her appearance through magic she prefers to control it herself through petty rules. The elven race do not have children lightly, and so Teya is often quite lonely, having nobody of her age with which she can talk. Although she likes to discuss things of a more grown up nature with her parents and other elves, she would like to have someone nearer her age which with she could just laugh and talk about anything, disregarding social rules and regulations.
Character History: Because she is young, Teya's history is not long, nor is it complex. She was born to her parents, Marielle and Starnin, perfectly healthy and happy. She did not know, that her mother was not an elf, but rather a human woman blessed with magic, who altered her appearance and skills with the help of her husband. The elves eventually found out and were horrified that this had escaped their notice, but they eventually agreed to let her stay in the forest, because she had blessed Starnin with a child, and they saw Teya to be a blessing, like all children. So Teya has been raised in the elven world, and is really more elf than human, becuase her mother had already applied her 'transformations' before giving birth to her. Growing up, Teya gradually discovered her love of music and dancing, and even at her age now she performs at the festivals in Du Weldenvarden. By all the elves, hers are considered art forms that will only last while she does, and so they value them all the more. Now, Teya learns fighting from her father on the days he is not in court, where his place is, and practises her magic at home with her mother, as well as her zeitra, her singing and her dancing. She is also at the age where she can read and write, and has begun to write simple poetry, although she finds it difficult, and wants to exhibit some at Agaeti Blodhren the next time it occurs.
Weapons: - a bow: sung from an oak, and inlaid with silver filigree around the grip and the bowtips, she received it for her twelfth birthday. The arrows are sung from the same tree, flint-tipped and flighted with grey goose feathers rom the seashore. - her mother's sword: her mother no longer fights properly, and Teya cannot wield her sword properly, but her father has started to teach her. She hopes to eventually fight as well as him, although she hopes she will never have to.
Likes: cold weather, dancing, singing, writing, laughing
Dislikes: hot weather, confined spaces
Weakness / Fear: - she has a great fear of fire and of the dark, and often has nightmares about them. She also find spells to do with fire very hard to control, and they terrify her - her youth; because she is so young, her training is very difficult, and she does not yet have the right strength that will put her 'on par' with others of her race, but she still tries hard
Animal Companions: none
Character's Physical Description: Teya stands at around 4'9" and really only looks like a tall eight-year-old girl, because she is very thin and is still childlike in stature. Being an elf, her appearance is rather stunning, and her overly-pale skin is almost luminous against her dark hair and deep green eyes. Her hair falls untied and uncut down her back, save for a straight fringe edged by longer strands that frame her small face. Her hands and feet are rather small, so she is unlikely to grow much taller; strange, as the elven race are usually quite tall. Teya usually wears the russet gown of the elves, and goes barefoot, but for celebrations she likes to wear a deep red, belted in white. She is never seen without an assortment of plaited bracelets and anklets adorning her limbs, in assorted colours dispersed through many black cords. She usually ties her hair back with one or more of these to keep it from tangling or getting in her way when she is dancing.
Dreams for the Future: - to see Galbatorix overthrown. - to travel Alagaesia and lands beyond
Reason for Dreams: - it is her parents' dream to see the King overthrown, and she feels it is best for her people, although she is yet to understand the full extent of Galbatorix's tyranny. - her curiosity can never be satisfied and, although she loves Ellesmera, she wants to see other places
Alignment/side: with the elves, against Galbatorix
