Of course, he taught it as a way for them to fend off attackers, but the children immediately went out and tried to play the hero or villian and killed each other.

Shapeshifting: After drinking the blood of Aeron, Wil absorbed his powers and can now shift his shape to that of a grand phoenix whose skin is covered by a layer of pure obsidian flame in place of feathers. He has never had training in shifting his shape, but oddly enough, is very proficient at it.

Personality: Wil is a new type of challenge to Alagaesia. He's got an extremely dark personality. Because his mom died when he was three, he's taken on a sarcastic, almost sadistic sense of humor. His father died later when he could remember, but he was only six even then. Due to his unique breed, he has been known to undergo almost manic mood swings. Most of these have to do with rage or sick sadness. He has successfully found love, but lost it and so it does little for evil he holds in his heart from the past. He got very sick with depression, and couldn't even speak to his friends after she disappeared. He's very...distracted at times by thoughts, and if he doesn't answer the first time, he's lost in a thought(and usually a good one, a deep trance that separates him from his mortal pains). Sometimes he pretends to be happy, but he's just faking it to create the illusion. His mood has been known to lighten slightly when in the presence of friends, and he relishes the slaying of his enemies, but at the end of the day when he's lying in the dark, his mind sinks into the surrounding veil of black with memories of the pain.

History: Wil was born in Carvahall, but his parents moved him across the oceans, shortly after his birth, during a tough time for the opposite shore. It wasn't long after the third World War of that land, and it was about a generation since the Vampires and Wolves there had started showing themselves. His parents were originally from this other land and had found each other in Carvahall. His father, Max, was a Vampire-Human halfbreed who married Helen, Wil's mother, who was a Pureblood Wolf. She was shunned from her family, which was still extremely racist against the Halfbreeds and Tribloods, and lived in solitude with Max. When Wil was born, Max was going through a hard time. When Wil was three, his mother was killed in a car accident. When he was six, his father went to raid a few bars, and ended up killing about four Pure- or Halfblood bartenders and desecrating the corpses with the rest of the mob. He ended up getting shot and desecrated himself by the police, and then he was hung upside-down four days later on his own doorstep. Wil was taken in by a foster family, moved back to Carvahall, and raised as a normal kid. When he was fourteen, he thought he found love and was torn to pieces by a girl he felt for. At that point his heart turned black with rage and he fell to his emotion, living life as a shell of the boy he'd been at the loss of the man he could've become. Then he found love again, a stronger, more powerful type of love. The true type. They had their difficulties with each other but he knew they would grow up to be together. This ended in tragedy as she disappeared one day without note or trace.

Weapons: Llaryandyl, a katana that is imbued with Wil's proficient ability to control fire. The blade was a gift to Wil from his godfather after besting the elder man in a mock swordfight. Wil eventually found the blade's true name, and now has the power to create a devastating firestorm by using the blade as a focal point. He merely has to say or shout, "Llaryandyl thrysta brisingr vaudhr!" and a torrent of flame bursts forth from the blade's tip, wreaking havoc on all in its path.

Appearance: He's about five feet, eleven inches tall. His weight is about 156. He's thin, but not deathly thin. He has medium-high cheekbones which make him look somewhat smug. His eyes are a bright, intelligent blue. His hair is blond. It's long for a boy, and the style is sometimes referred to as 'emo style'. It hangs down in one eye, but it doesn't get in the way much. He normally wears a dark sports jacket, a light t-shirt, and a pair of comfortable jeans or slacks.

History: Cinaed started as an egg created by Andep, Danagon's dragon, and Eliza, Drenor's dragon. He was laid in a creekbed and hidden from everyone so that the egg would be safe. One day the wheel of fate spun and Wil found the egg while he, Andep, Skolirio, and Danagon were travelling through the empire. Wil kept the egg for quite a while. One day, while he was in Uru'baen trying to strike with a group against Galbatorix, the egg started to pulsate faster, and Cinaed was hatched minutes later. Wil touched his forehead and linked their minds, and started the companionship between the two.

Personality: Cinaed is still figuring himself out. He's curious about the big-bright-mother-earth around him and knows he's one of a very rare race. He loves fighting tall-things-with-horns, and loves the energy he gets from the four-legged-brown-furs when he catches one. Above all (literally) he loves soaring in the sky. When Wil is on his back, he feels invincible and knows that he and his rider can do almost anything.

Appearance: Cinaed is midnight black. He is full grown after the year he's been travelling with Wil, and can support Wil and one other, lighter person (an elf, maybe) with little trouble. His right eye is pure ebony, but his left eye is the opposite: a bright, intuitive ivory color. He also has a birthmark that looks surprisingly like his father's scar running down his right leg. The birthmark, and his fangs and claws, are also a pure white color.
