Raign
Raign had just escaped from twenty urgals he had been running for hours and was already tired from exhausting his magic and fighting. He sat down to take a drink from his wine skin when he saw the Hadarac dessert. He crawled into the dessert and sat in the warm drying sun. He took a nice long swig from his wine skin and layed back. He heard a clumping of feet but ignored it then he heard two more feet. He rose and saw an urgal and a kull the urgal said though a raspy voince "there he is" then Raign realized itwas the urgal he stabbed back in the forest. He bolted runnin as fast as he could he needed to find a place to hide but the dessert was bare. "A fine mess i got my self into this time.

Raign started running but the kull was on him in no time. so he swung his short sword at the kull but it smashed him in the head before he cut it through the jaw. Raign awoke with a dry mouth and a piercing hunger. He was tied to a pole in a pile of bones which made him want to throw up. The kull who knocked him out came in with the urgal and a shade. The shade named arzol approched Raign he knew who this shade was because it was the one who burned his skin. "Now what"?thought Raign

The shade raised his palm and started prying at the mind of raign, raign who had been used to this shielded himslef quickly let go and said brisingr trying his hardest to burn the shades heart no matter the cost

I groaned as the throb in my head increased, then I saw the Kull lean to the shade and say "We got them both, He," The kull said Jabbing a finger at Raign "took out alot of urgals before we caught him in the hadarac desert." Then in a vioce that made my head hurt even more, said, "And we found her near the same place, she manged to kill two kull before we could get her and drug her." The Shade started to walk in the room, then I passed out again...

I woke with the sound of thumps hitting the wall beside me then they stopped i looked out of the hole in the door and saw a women being dragged through the hall as she struggled. "Who is that" I thought

I had woke up from the feeling of being pulled. As I became awere of my surrondings I saw a kull leading me out. Then we stopped I looked up and in front of me stood Galbatorix. I screamed. "What do you want with me." I said terrified. "Your loyalty." Galbatorix said with a evil grin on his face. "Why, what could I give you. I don't even know my own race."...

Raign reached under his bandages that covered his arm obviosly the shade missed the vial he hid. It was a potion he made to nuetralize the poison wich clouded his mind he drank the potion and instantly he could remember his spells raign raised his hand and launched a pebble through the lock. Raign opened the door and walked outside into the hall he followed the trail of feet into a door he looked through a knothole in the door and saw Galbatorix standing in front of the girl, suddenly the door swung open and Raign felt a pull on his body, he was being pulled right up to galbatorix "ah Raign the wizard I have a use for you too."

I turned around and saw the man pulled in the room by magic. "Why would you need us." I said trying to control myself, "Whats so special about us." "There is more to both of you than you know," Galbatorix said as the shade rechained up Raign...

"If you have sided with the shades and the urgals then i can have nothing to do with you" said Raign with powefull spite. "leave" said galbatorix to the shade. After the shade left galbatorix said " i hope you know i am just using them to get what i need." "does that mean you are jsut using us" exploded the girl. Galbatorix looked un suprised and said "no I need you" Raign looked at the girl then to galbatorix. "first i need you to tell me what i am so important for then i will decide wether or not i will allow myself to join you" said Raign

"And tell me," I shouted at Galbatorix, "I am nothing why in the world do you want me. All my life I have been wandering around, because nobody wanted some girl who looked like an elf but wasn't, Why now does the most powerfull person in the world want me." I had yelled at the top of my lungs. It was a stupid thing to do becuase it used so much energy I passed out cold.

"well since the girl is not ready to hear the truth i will tell you what i need you for" said Galbatorix " I need you to be one of the first of my army of dragon riders not only will i let you kill all of the shades and urgals you want but i will give you the power to do it too" Raign was suprised he wanted the power to destroy the shades and urgals who tortured him for so long but yet he knew it wasn't right this was a big choice what would all the people he met over this time think of him like oomar Raign didn't know what to do. " I will give you one day to think about it i warn you though i will not tolerate you saying no" [/quote]

As I came round I stood up and heard the last of the speech Galbatorix made. "Now that your here with the living again." Galbatorix said, "I am pretty sure you heard most of what I said to Raign, You have a scar on the under side of your left wrist." I gasped "How did you know." I said with a surprised look on my face. "I know all about your egg. I need you, Because you part dark elf, and becuase you will be almost as power full as me some day," he said with an even more evil grin, "You will have the same amount of time that Raign has, to answear me." Then the Shade walked back in, "Take them to the room," he said pointing to us, "And make sure they don't get drugged," Then I started shouting at him again, "But you still didn't say what I am supossed to do." "Child, If you swear loyalty to me in the anceint language then you will go along side with him and destroy the ones that oppose me." Then the shade took us away...

the shade took Raign and Erais back to a larger cell with a table of food and wine. "Okay you know my name what is yours" said Raign Erais told Raign her story and Raign told her his. "your not really planning on joining him are you Raign" said Erais. "For years the shades tortured and demented my soul and body if i must i will join him" said Raign. "But you can not truly beilieve what he is soing is right" "It sounds like the first right thing he has done his whole life he is trying to correct his mistake by bringing back the dragon riders and he is giving me the power to exact my revenge what is so wrong about that" said Raign "Are you that foolish don't you see he is planning on destroying the elves" said Erais "So be it" said Raign, and he lay down on a bed in the corner and went to sleep

"OH," I said frustrated, went over and sat on the opposite bed then sat glarring at Raign. After awhile it got dark outside the window, I fell asleep. I woke up and saw Raign eating at the table, "You can't be serious about joining him," I said as i sat down on the other chair by him, "I refuse, I would rather die. He has caused so much grief. Can't you see that." I said then I got up and went to the window, while Raign thought about what I said...

"look" said Raign as he unwrapped the bandages on his face to reveal a burnt and scarred face. "Do you think that I would put down the oppurtunity to get revenge on the people who did this to me the ones that made me unlovable, I can't show my face anywhere without being cast out as the devils child or a monster if it takes evil to destroy evil than so be it. You can give your life up for what you think, but i would rather live and get revenge I am sorry you feel this way but i would not give up this chance.

I glared at him and stuck out my tonuge. Later the shade entered and dragged us out, and put us in front of Galbatorix. "What are your answears." He said and turned to Raign to get his answear first.

"my answer" said raign stalling for time. "Is...No he screamed" he sthen said brisingr setting ablaze the whole room in order to incapacitate Galbatorix. Galbatorix screamed and threw his hand to the side. Suddenly all of the smoke and fire were gone Raign quickly grabbed Erais and ran. Raign had reached the door when the shade came out of nowhere and stabbed Raign with a small dagger right in the side. The shade missed any vital parts, but soon Raign felt sick and tired. He realized the dagger had been poisond Raign fell to the ground in a haze and then he blacked out.

"NNOOOOO" I screamed I turned a dark purple aoura came around me I drew my sword and stabbed the shade through the heart. I felt a little weak but I helped Raign up and started to run blasting everything out of my way. It seemed like forever but we made it safely in the spine I started to feel weak so with my last bit of strength I made the poisen Raign got not fatle so he would recover. Then I passed out, and a huge massive amount of pain shot through me and I thought I was going to die. Then I heard a voice calling me back to the light...

"Wake up" Raign shouted to an unconcios Erais you will not die if i can help it Raign was mad he could not have helped her while he was asleep but the poison was to strong. Raign readied some snow Erais was burning up he put her in the snow and then tried to make soem nurishment for erais. "What cna i do" thought Raign "I shouldn't have been so foolish i would have been able to help her when she still okay. I am such a fool"

A calm voice started to calmly bring me back I felt cold. "Were am I." I asked since my vision was a bit off. I then reconised Raign, he turned around, I smiled. "Thank you." was all I could say. I then Went to sleep.

OOC: I have to go now.

Raign stood up and said"Your welcome" He then went to find food he was following a deer when he heard someone following him he readyed his knife and jumped behind a large tree "Whoever this is they won't find me easy to defeat" thought Raign

A cloaked figure walked passed Raign. He could not see his face, but took the oppertunity to attack. he stabbed at the strangers back, but the dagger shattered. It turned around and grasped him by the neck. "who are you," asked the stranger darkly, his golden eyes glowing in clash with violet skin. a strength so powerful burst through Raign's mind that even galbatorix would not have been able to block it. He punched the stranger in the face as hard as he could, but it didnt even hurt him. It grinned,"u cannot defeat me. Me, Serias dark elf ancient guardian!" he threw Raign into a tree, who fell unconcious with pain...

Raign woke to the cloked figure sitting and talking to Erais. "I'm just getting thrown around by everyone today" groaned Raign. "This man says you tried to kill him" said Erais. "Yeah and he owes me a new dagger because of it" said Raign. "Who are you I didn't catch your name before you hurled me into the tree?" asked Raign

"Serias," he grinned and pulled back his hand to find a hand covered in roots. the roots grew into a dagger. he tossed it to Raign. "i am sorry.just dont try to attack me anymore." Raign grinned. "thanks" Serias nodded."do u mind if i join ur little company?i too am agaisnt galbatorix."

I started to giggle as they just stared at each other. "Boys" I mumbled, "What?" Raign said in a paranoyed tone, "Aren't you two going to talk to each other." They looked a bit emmbarssed. I started to laugh.

Serias swiftly got up. He looked alert,"stay here. i will be back soon." he turned into a panther and leaped between 2 trees, covering himself in darkness.

"well I am going to fetch myself some dinner" said Raign he walked into the woods. Several minutes later he came back with several rabbits. "Here's my dinner where's yours?" Raign chuckled as he sat down and started a fire.

"Well," I started to say as-a-matter-of-factly "I don't eat meat." I then pulled out some bread and apples. "Want some," I Said. "Sure." Raign replied. I broke off some bread and handed him some apples. "I don't want to be rude or anything, but," I broke off. "But what." Raign asked, "What are you." "What do you mean." He said with a chuckle, "Never mind," I replied then went quiet.

"Oh you are refering to my race are you not?" asked Raign "Yes" mumbled Erais. "Well I am a distorted Human, saddly it is hard to tell, and i thank you for asking" said Raign. "I don't mean to pry but it seems as though you two have met already" Raign said to Erais "Have you?"

"Do you mean Serais and I." I said, "I don't know, all I can remeber is throbbing pain and then I am 14 in Galbatorixs castle." I then grew quiet and then said, "Maybe before that. I don't know." Then we sat in silence and ate. "Were do you think Serais is." Raign asked me, "I," then stopped "No, hes been gone so long." I then started with a sad expression...

"Well maybe we should scry him" said Raign. " I don't know said Erais he may be somewhere he doesn't want us to see" said Erais "I'll scry him" said Raign. He pulled out a waterskin and poored some water into a bowl he then said the magic words and the pool cleared. Raign jumped back he was shocked by what he saw.

blood. lots of blood is what they saw.Jack quickly took off the magic. "Something is wrong,"he said."teribbly teribbly wrong."

Serias lunged forward and caught the Urgal across the jaw with his sword. blood of the enimies ran down his cloak. he turned into a panther and ran back to his allies.

After awhile I could see Serais coming back. As soon as he got to the egde of camp a huge Kull (2 times bigger then normal) came behind him and was about to stab him in the back, then I grabbed my sword and ran up to it and gutted it. Serais turned around and saw what happened. They both looked stunned at the dead kull. "We have to leave now," I said with a commanding tone. "And fast." As I finished, Kull and Urgals came out of now were and surronded us...

Serias grinned,"showtime" He dashed at 5 of the 25 urgals killing 3 with magic, and 2 with magic. Erais and Raign quickly beginning to attack. they were finished of quickly, and all the party had gained was Raign with a sword sticking out of his shoulder. they healed hin and burned the urgals. Serias quickly grabbed both of their arms and dashed with the wind in the oppisite direction.

"Now what," I said bewilderd. "Hush." Was the only reply I got.

they continued through the forest, Erais and Raign exausted, Serias as energized as ever. "there is a town up ahead. we are no longer in alagaesia. we are in Coronia, empire of the dark elves. we should make it there by noon."

I was stunned and slipped through his grasp and triped behind. I screamed as 5 ra'zac binded me and took off fast. Serais and Raign turned around frightened as they saw me taken away. But it was to late. They saw them force a drug in that made me faint.

Serias was thinking. then he let out a gasp and grasped Jacks arm."what the-"he began. "no time, i know where she is! come i know the way." they dashed through the everbinding forest and at last they came to the place. a small cave in a cliff. the dark elfs vision allowed him to see the 5 raz'ac, all guarding a cage. "lets go,"he told Raign. He nodded and they ran into the cave, blades drwan.

I groaned, I raised my head then I couldn't hold it up anymore. I heard war cries, and screams of pain. For a minute I thought I saw Raign and Serais. Then all was black again.

Erais woke up on a field. a fire blazed to the right. and endless forest lead to the left. And there were Serias and Raign, both sitting down calmly eating bread and drinking stew.

I guess they noticed me awake, "Why does this keep happening." I said in a shakey voice. The drug started to were off and I was weak. Raign replied, "I don't know, do you." He turned to Serais, "What could I offer him. " I said before Serais spoke, then he said...

"i am not sure my self. raz'ac work for galbatorix, so they must want u 2 after what happened. but that doesnt explain why they didnt capture Raign. it is a bit strange." Serias walked up to her with a cup of a foamy liquid. "drink this, itll wear the drug off." she did so gratefully and felt her self come back to normal, for she remembered the ancient language.

"Were are we now." I asked Serais, "I don't know yet." He replied, "We should go don't you think." Raign said. So after putting out the fire and packing up, we left. "Shouldn't we stay near a wooded area." I said, "Yes," Serais said then started a diffent rout.

this route was harsh for the non darkelves. It was rocky, and many obstcles were in the way. finally, Serais teleported them 5 leagues forward, into a wasteland with large outcroppings of rock, where volcanoes blew and lava rivers flowed."we are in the Sinkdroyo Mt.s in eastern Coronia, home of the dark elves. there is a town to the west. we are almost there!" and by noon, they made it.

"Why are they staring at me," I asked Serais "Its making me uneasy."...

"It's because you hold some amount of importance wich I hope as was I because all I am getting is stares of hate and anguish" said Raign. They all walked down the road leading through the city where they came upon an inn Serius asked the innkeeper" May we have 3 rooms." "You may have two fooms but that freak has to sleep outside" said the innkeeper pointing at Raign. Raign though hurt and angered turned to leave the inn.

"Wait," I said I then said something to the innkeeper handed him something, then he said "Fine but he has to share a room with someone." "He can have my room," I said "Besides I prefere out doors." I finished saying and winked at Raign. I then headed for the door with Erador...

"I would rather it if you stayed outside" said Raign " if you sleep outside and i sleep in your room they will probably do something rash just let me stay outside" continued Raign "No I will i am used to staying outside" replied Erais " Yes but have you ever been tied to a pole in a thorn bush with bones and rotting bodies scattered around you for four days? This will be like sleeping in a mansion to me don't worry." said Raign "Fine, but only for now" replied Erais.

"Yes if you remeber I was there to." I said, "No you sleep here. I told him if he touchs you there will be a bad consiquince." "What?" Raign said "Don't worry about it they won't do anything to you." Then I walked outside. Later Raign came up to me and asked, "Weres Serais?" "I don't know," I replied, then Serais walked up. "Where were you." Raign began, "Never mind. I am a bit hungery you." "Yes," we both said...

...Raign. Serais drew out a bag of coins and walked over to thebar tender. "3 ales" said Serais. "You get two that freaks evil lips will never touch one of my mugs or any of my ale" grunted the bar tender. Serias grabbed the bartender and shook him. "you will give him his ale" he growled then Raign walked up and loosed Serius's grip. Then Raign spoke" Leave him they have reasons to treat me this way" "What reason would that be?" said Erais. "Years ago when there was a solider who was a dark elf he went to destroy a pack of urgals he killed most of them but they followed him home when they attacked him a shade used my mind to trick me into killing the hero by stabbing him in the back." Raign paused "The problem is I did it out of my own free will. I had learned to put barriers around my mind but the idea of killing him reached my mind and it sounded so good to me that i killed him. Now i will tell you my motive for this. I killed him because he didn't save my parents because i was selfish and evil that is why they hate me."

"But..." Raign broke me off "Whats done is done." Then he walked away. I looked at Serais "Is this true," I asked "Unfortumatly yes." Serais replied. And then I took off after Raign. After awhile I caught up to him. "Are you okay," I asked, "Please answear truthfully." We just kept walking. When it started to get dark we headed back to the inn. As we aproached they stared at us, and muttered things like, "Your walking with an evil one, Your a trater to want to blend with him, Your a dark elf to you should hate him." I then would turn around and put a spell on there mouth so they can't say another word in tell were out of ear shot. "There you two are," Serais said. We just walked past him and entered the inn...

Raign sat at a table in a dark corner. All the while people whispering and mumbling just where he belongs, in the darkness. All Raign could do was drink his ale and think "Why me?"

I started to walk to the door, "Wait," Raign said as he walked up to me, "Are you going to be okay. I mean they might start to sneer at you since you've been seen walking with me." "No I am fine. Serais. Why haven't they done anything to mock me? Why do they do slight bows even when I am walking with Raign."...

"u are part dark elf.'said Serias with his eyes closed."u are one of them." Raign, tell me if they hurt u. i shall have a talk with the village." he leapt toward the town hall.

Raign returned to his corner after getting another pint of ale. "Why don't you stop drinking you will get drunk, and if we have to leave fast you will not be able to travel fast enough." said Erais "Because i can not get drunk, you know how when you are drunk everything feels good well the shades took that from me. I am not able to feel anything but pain and annoyance because of a curse." replied Raign

Erias went silent and sighed. 'thats sad."



OOC:i dont want to use her char too much. thats why its short. i cant do it till she posts.

"But I still think you should stop." I said then muttered something and Raigns drink evaporated. "What did you do that for." Raign said angrly. "Because they drugged it so you would move slow."...

"Thanks" groaned Raign "When will we leave this place Serais?'

at that moment Serias came back. he didnt slow down when he was close. "the mayor has just been killed. i found him lying on the floor in a pool of blood. come, i will protect u." he grabbed them and dashed toward the exit. but before he could make it, a elf with pale skin and green eyes appeared.

"Who are you?" I said, Then I got an urge and said, "Run." I grabbed them both and started to run faster then wind. The elf started to follow us...

Serias grinned. "u are learning my ways quite well. but i must leave u now. meet me by the river up north." and with that he let go. turning to the elf, he said,"it has been a long time, Drakos." "the elf smiled and took out a 7 foot long flamberege. "dont try,"continued Serias."u cannot win.""i dont intend to to," answered the pale figure but dashed at him all the same.

When Raign and Erais arrived at the river there was noone there "Where is he" said Erais "Don't worry he'll come, I hope" replied Raign. Mean while Serias danced blades with the green eyed elf. all they could do was block, parry, stab, and slash, but it did no good.

finally Serias caught the elfwith his foot and knocked him to the ground. he put his blade to Drakos' neck. "ill let u go, for old times sake, but beware;if u prove to be a foe, i will kill u." with that he turned into a panther and ran to the river in the north.

There was a rush of wind passed the trees. Someone blindfolded me grabbed me and was gone. "Nooo." Yelled Raign. Serais heard him and ran faster...

Serais arrived at the river to see Raign kneeling on the ground with a broken leg. "Where is she" said Serais "A giant creature cmae out of the water smashed my leg with a club then he grabbed Erais and ran" said Raign

I woke up. I was still blindfolded. 'Whats that smell' I thought as a horrible stench filled my nose. It made me feel sick. 'Serias, Raign were are you.' I thought then to my surprise I got a reply. 'Were are you.' Someone or something said. 'I don't know' I replied. 'Never mind.' Then I felt someone grab me and run. I heard shouts behind me. He took the blindfold off. "Who are you?" I asked abit scared. He just kept running...

"stupid urgals,"muttered Serias as he raced after the person with Erais, in his panther form with jack on his back. "that was Drakos, the elf i fought. i dont know what hes doing but i cancatch his. and dont worry, im the best at magic around here. itll be no prob.' Raign smiled.

I thought. 'Serais weres Raign.' 'Right here don't worry' then I saw the figure fall to the ground unconcios...

IC: "i am lucky that blast hit him," laughed Serias as he inspected the body which was smoking. "Erias are u ok?"asked Raign. "im fine, who is it?" "come and look," said Serias grimly. she did, and she knew at once who it was.

I just stared. "What," Raign said, and then shook us. 'Serais, Who is he?"...

"i will let Eriasexplain,"he murmmered slowly.

"No." I said while shaking my head, then walked away crying....

"i thought it was Drakos at first, but it looks like someone took his shape. that, person is-" he was cut of by an Urgal, 2 of em, who bashed himand Raign across the head. 'run Erais,' he said with his thoughts and faded away.

I turned around and drew my sword. "You'll pay for that." Then lightning fast they fell to the ground. 'Erador get here now.' I said then both dragons appeared. I tied Serais and Raign on them. When they woke up they saw a glowing fire. I put some wet cloths on there heads then bandaged them. "Are you two okay." I said worriedly. "Yes." they replied...

"im bored,"said Serias as he got up quickly. 'Chronum, i need to check something. come down.' "ill be back soon,"he said as they took off into the night.

I thought 'Your in no condishon to go flying you know that.' 'Since when did you become my mother.' 'Sorry.' I replied.

OOC: I have to go eat. I will stay looged on. I will be back fast.

Serias chuckled ,'im fine. i heal very fast' then he saw it. fire and smoke in a village of dark elves. "Drakos,"he growled and shot downwards

'Were is he' I thought as I paced back and forth. 'What did he need to finish.' I saw a speck in the sky I grabbed my bow. I fitted an arrow I was about to fire...

Serias heard it before he saw it. a huge black dragon coming towards their camp. 'its galbatorix! put out the fire!' he sent his thought, then continued to descend

"Adurna." I said. The Fire went out. 'Were are you' I felt something on my arm. "Here." he said smiling. "Now what?" I whispered.

"hide in the trees and wait" they did, and the dragon flew over them. "that was close."said Erais. "not close enough,"growled Serias as Galbatorix stepped into the area.

"Serais what are you doing." I asked as he walked torwards Galbatorix...

"come out, hes not real...someone cast an illusion that-" a huge, muscular figure with metal hands ran out and punch at Serias, who cave a laugh and stopped the blow with his index finger. then he flicked and it went flying into a tree.

'Who is it.' I thought to Serais...

'dont know' came the answer as the man got up and attacked again. Serias sighed. 'they say learn from your mistakes u know,"he said to the man as he repeated his previous combo

I walked out. "You." I said, "Why are you here?" "You know him." Serais said. "Well sort fo I talked with him once in Galbatorixs castle."...

'oh, well, who is he," asked the dark elf curiously.

I said something then his face was uncovered. "You shouldn't be here." I said and advanced on him sword raised, "Erais wait." I turned around vilantly. "Serais please stay out of this one." Then there was a crash of metal as our swords met each other...

u should not kill him,"said Serias. "always question first. ur startingto remind me of Galbatorix."

I felt hurt by what Serais said. I Binded the stranger with magic and walked away frustrated tears running down my face...

Serias caught up with her. "im sorry. i just had a teribble flashback. i didnt mean it."

"Your okay." I said wipping tears from my cheek. "Lets go back, and forget about this." I said smiling. "Okay." Serais said...
