What did Eragon say to Elva in the first book that made him feel so much fear that he asked if their was a counter curse? What exactly did he say in teh first book?

This topic has been taken up a great deal of my study. Eragon said to Elva ' Atra gülai un ilian taught ono un atra ono waíse skölir frá rauthr. ' Which translates to 'Let luck and happiness follow you and may you be a shield from misfortune.'

In Eldest when Oromis asked him what he said, he was shocked for he used 'skölir' which means shield when he meant to say sheilded which is 'sköliro'.

Eragon was meant to say 'Atra gülai un ilian taught ono un atra ono waíse sköliro frá rauthr.' Which translates to 'Let luck and happiness follow you and may you be shielded from misfortune.'

Can you see what Eragon did?

Now he wants to try and fix his mistake and if you had caused that on someone, for them to protect someone from misfortune even to the point of death, like she does when she protects Nasuda, wouldn't you want to remove or null the spells affects?

Although Oromis and the other elvish spellweavers don't know what the gedwëy ignasia, that Saphira placed on Elvas head will do in terms of counter acting the curse he placed on her, or maybe given her extra magical ability. I doubt anyone knows apart from CP.

I didn't give any theories there only facts from what we already know. What do you see as a theory there?

3. What saphira did with elva was not the gedwëy ignasia according to what brom told eragon the gedwëy ignasia is a mark of a dragon hatchling and makes them a rider. Saphira chose eragon not elva.

no in eldest is says that the mark on elva's said is identical to the gedwey ignasia, it may not be called the same thing but they look alike

eragon said let luck and happiness follow you and may you be a shield from misfortune and may u be a shield from misfortune not shielded

so elva has 2 act as a shield 2 protect people from misfortune if eragon had said it right misfortune would not cross elvas path

and oromis said "1 who bears the sign of a rider, and yet is not a rider" and dat it is neither good nor bad

im not sure id call that a theory. its a possibillity, but he has no basis to back it up, so its just a possibillity/speculation. But i think its entirelly possibble. in another thread i posted tha i didnt think that Elva used magic conciouslly, i now consider it. Maybe, and i am goinng out on a TOTAL LIMB, THIS IS COMPLET SPECULATIION that just hit me. maybe she uses magic without the ancient language. like the magicians a LONG time ago did. Gleadr explained that before the whole making the ancient language what it is, people just controlled magic, most times it would over come and kill them, but maybe she is strong enough to controll it. ill move this to the another thread...

Besides the ones i stated in the thread about elva which i know you posted on and voted that she did have magicall powers, there is one that i just realized. every person who has ever bore that mark has been a magician. thats gotta account for something...
