Blood Brothers
OOC: This RPG is mainly for myself and Aeraldi, however, anyone is welcome to join as long as you will stay active.
IC: Eroth flew over the hot sands of the Hadarac Desert. He had left hsi home in the mountains of Du Weldenvarden, for one reason, and that reason alone. He was in search of his brother, Aelir. Eleven years ago, he, his brother, and his sister were blown far from theit home in a powerful hurricane, and had been unable to return home. On that day, Eroth had lost his brother's egg to the seas, and ever since he had searched, but his efforts were unfruitful. Until now.
There were rumors of a blue male dragon named Aelir, in the land. It was said that he had a rider, and that he was mated to the green dragoness, Emrhyst. So, he was searching once again. Teh red male flew over the sands as fast as his wings would carry him, hopefully toward his brother, and maybe even an adventure...

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Sorry for not joining sooner.
Something strange was rising, that much Aelir could sense. Occasionally, instinctual memories ran through him and told him parts of what it meant to be a dragon. This time, it told him something familiar was coming, something he had to face. Keralin felt it too through the link. "Do you need to go?" He asked Aelir. I think I do. Aelir said back, eyes looking unfocused to the south. Something went past us and I can still feel it to the south now. Aelir took a deep breath and released it. He had been living in Du Weldenvarden for most of his life now, ever since he met Emrhyst and had Taliear. I must go, I can feel the threads of fate coursing through me now as they once did through you. He was referring to the time when Keralin was alone and without Aelir. It was a big accusation to make. "Do you want me with you?" Yes. I wouldn't have it any other way. He looked down at his rider, the bond between them more than just that of a rider and dragon. But of friends. "Then we will go." Keralin said, gathering his belongings. He brought nothing too special, just his swords and food. Everything else he wouldn't need. He was actually happy that his armor in the corner was gathering dust. Keralin jumped onto Aelir and they both took off, heading south.
When they reached the Hadarac Desert, the sense deepened. There was something here, calling them both. The hot sands beneath them spoke of the barrenness of this land, and the animals spoke of something big that had passed not too long ago. Aelir could see it already, but Keralin couldn't. There is another Dragon here, he is over there. Aelir said to Keralin, indicating to his left. Keralin looked through Aelir's eyes and saw the dragon, a red. Aelir flew towards the obviously male dragon, who seemed more and more familiar the closer he got. This Dragon would answer his questions, and more were growing by the second.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Eroth is a red dragon, with tan under-belly scales.
IC: Eroth continued to fly over the hadarac, when he saw a blue dragon. It looked very familure, however the rider on its back was slightly unsettling, he had never seen such before. He flew closer and said, Hello there, I am called Eroth, who are you ... and why is that elf on your back? asked Eroth as he slowed his speed to fly at the same rate as the dragon and the elf on it back. He looked at the dragon and something, deep within his memory stirred. It was like a flasback.
There he was, Eroth was flyign about over the large rocks in the center of the royal gardens, there were two eggs, both blue laying on a beatifully carbed rock, which looked like the outstreached wings of a dragon, when the sky got dark. He heard paicked roaring, even some screaming, he dove toward the eggs, and luckily grabbed them, then ... all was darkness, he woke up with sand in his face...
Eroth shook his head vigoriously, to rid himself of the daze. He looked at the dragon and rider and said, Sorry, had some sort of flashback. laughed the red dragon.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir sniffed Eroth, his scent sending familiar pangs through his mind. This was no ordinary dragon, at least not to Aelir. My name is Aelir, and this is my rider Keralin. Who are you Eroth, and why are you here? Everything in his body was telling him that there was something about this dragon, Aelir just couldn't place the feeling. "Hello Eroth." Keralin said as well.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth's face turned very pale when the dragon said it's name was Aelir. He looked at the dragon, his face a mask of disbelief, and said, You are the one I have been searchign for. He thought to himself, then said, Sorry, that may have sounded somewat odd. What I meant, was I have been looking for you for some time now. See, I used to know someone named Aelir, but they got ... lost, and I have been searching for them ever since ... he was my little brother. said Eroth looking for some gleam of recognition from the dragon. Then Eroth began to answer the questions, I am out here searching for, well, you. I am Erith, the son of Vega and Merak, the rulers of the Islands. said Eroth prodly to what he thought might be his little brother.

Re: Blood Brothers
All of a sudden, the feelings that Aelir had been having were so clear. A brother? Neither Keralin nor Aelir had a brother, and now... Little brother? I... I have an older brother? Vega, Merak? I... The whole thing was too preposterous to believe, yet the feelings wouldn't go away. Keralin felt Aelir's distress and relief and a cacophony of other emotions, and decided to make a suggestion. "Maybe we should land, this might go better on the ground." Aelir agreed, letting himself fall from the sky. A brother? But... How? I thought you found me in a forest.. "I did, but who knows how long you were in that egg for, I only came to know you after that. I don't know anything before." Keralin admitted. The land was solid, which was good for Aelir as his legs couldn't support his weight. What... What happened to me? Aelir asked Eroth.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth flew down after the dragon and elf, and when eh was asked, he sheepishly said, Well, I will tell you the whole story ...
I was playing in my, I mean our mother and father's courtyard, while mom and dad sat you and Syrca on the large stone in the center to get some Sun, and hopefully warm you up, when a powerful storm came up, it was no ordinary storm, it was one of the most powerful I have ever seen, well, the winds began to blow fiercely and I heard roars and screams, so I went for you two, knowing you needed to be safe. I got you two, when yet another powerful gust of wind came. It blew the three of us far from home, over the seas, then, I blacked out. When I woke up, Syrca's egg was beside me, but yours was gone, I assumed you were around so I searched, I finally decieded that someone either got you, or you fell into the sea. So, I continued to search, for eleven years, and I finally succeded. said Eroth with downcast eyes, dissipointed in himself for failing to find his brother sooner.

Re: Blood Brothers
As much as Aelir wanted to believe, this was all too much. Not only did he have a brother, but a sister too? Was his parents still alive too? He had grown content with the knowledge that he would never know anyone from his family and now this dragon said he was a part of his? He had seen too many plots against him and his rider to believe any story that would bring him to trusting someone, and now... He wanted to trust this dragon, he could almost feel it in his bones but still... Do you have proof? Are my parents still alive or have they conveniently disappeared? "Easy, we're not trying to start a fight here." Keralin patted Aelir on the neck, near the saddle. It always soothed him, and this time was no different. I'm sorry, its just... I want to believe, but I after what I've been through, its hard to trust such a claim on nothing but a gut instinct.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth looked at Aelir and said, As far as I know, yes, our parents are still alive, and I also have the egg of my ... our sister. said Eroth in a happier tone. Then he said, It is a long flight to our homelands, I have tried many different times, but have yet to even come close to home. But, maybe with your help, we can make it, that is if you are willing to try. said Eroth as he stared intently at the dragon and rider, becoming more and more sure wach moment of who they were.

Re: Blood Brothers
You... You're not worried at all. I guess... I suppose you are my brother. The words sounded strange to Aelir, to know that he wasn't the last of his family. And that makes you an uncle. Aelir smiled at the thought. "Just how far away are you from anyway?" Keralin asked.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth smiled when hsi brother believed him more. he looked suprisedly at the dragon when he heard that he was an uncle. He said, Excellent! What is his, or her name, I would love to meet them! and when Keralin asked how far away they lived, he said, My family lives on a huge island. If is many day's flight from the coast, it is, I think directly east of here. As I told you earlier, I cannot get there alone, even with some of the advantages I posess, but anyway, it is excessively far, and very hard to reach. When I was blown from the island, with you, I lost consciousness, and with the force of the wind, it could be more than twelve leagues from here, maybe we could make it together. said the dragon hopefully, excited that he might get to go home.

Re: Blood Brothers
Then we'll have a try at it, after you meet the rest of my family. Aelir said optimistically. Life went on for me and before I knew it, I was happy with my family. But come, let me introduce you to my son Taliear, and his rider Hayren, who happens to be Keralin's son. Aelir took off into the sky, about to head back to Du Weldenvarden to show Eroth. Keralin could sense his eagerness and could feel it himself.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth took to the air after his long lost brother and when he saw that they were heading toward Du Weldenvarden, said, Excellent, after I meet your son and his rider, I will show you to your sister. said the dragon as he flapped his wings hard to keep up with his brother. Not long afterward, he landed in a heavily wooded area. He looked around and watched Aelir and Keralin, waiting for them to move.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir and Keralin led Eroth to their home, a house made of the trees that stood three stories with a large Dragon roost on the top, big enough for three large dragons. Behind the house stood a forge, a place for Keralin to do his work with ease. "Hayren, Taliear?! Are you two here?" Keralin called out, looking around the house for any sign of life. Two heads poked out the top, from the Dragon roost. One human, the other a dragon's. "We're here dad!" Hayren called out, his hand holding onto Taliear for support. "We have a guest, or family if you will." Hayren climbed onto Taliear and they both jumped down to the ground, both of them looking quite young. Taliear looked at the dragon standing next to his father, who looked a lot like him. Hayren jumped off of Taliear, almost hesitantly, and stood next to Keralin. So what's your name? Taliear asked, sniffing slightly at the new dragon. You smell like Dad. Keralin smiled, then introduced his children to Eroth. "This is my son Hayren. He has a special gift with metals, able to change them to his whim." And this is mine, Taliear. Aelir said, lowering a wing over Taliear. I'll let our new friend introduce himself.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth looked proudly at Aelir, then at Tailear. He bowed to them and said, Tailear, I am Eroth, older brother of your father, it is indeed an honor to meet you. then he repeated the jesture to Hayren. He said, Hayren, I am Eroth, the brother of Keralin's dragon; Aelir, it is a great honor. he looked at Aelir and Keralin and said, You should br proud, you have fine sons. said the dragon happily. He said, Tailear, did you know that you are part of a royal family, as a matter of fact, the grandson of a king? asked the dragon happily.

Re: Blood Brothers
Really? No way! Taliear exclaimed before looking at Hayren. Call me Prince Taliear. "Only if you call me Prince Hayren. We're in this together." Bah, not worth it. Taliear and Hayren still had smiles on their faces. "We are proud of them, they are everything to us." Keralin ran his hand through Hayren's hair, who pushed Keralin's hand off and began to adjust his hair. "I'd like to introduce you to the rest of our family, but I can never find them on short notice." A strange family to say the least. Aelir added, his neck rubbing against Taliear's. But I wouldn't trade them for anything in this world or the next. Tell me, what are my parents and sister like?

Re: Blood Brothers
Well, out sister has not yet hatched, but her egg is a stark white color, but mom is a very quiet and reserved, and SUPER smart. She is a deep purple color, with amazingly white teeth and claws. Dad is the typical father. Large, powerful, and he is a golden color. He is very smart, and strong, now, lets go see our sister. said Eroth as he jumped into the skies. He said, If you want, Aelir, Keralin, you goung ones can come to see their aunt, but I don't know if they shoudl try ot see our home land, just yet. said the red dragon.

Re: Blood Brothers
"Can we come?" Hayren asked, exited. "You've never let us go anywhere before and we're ready!" You've seen me fly, I can stay in the air for a very long time now. Keralin and Aelir looked at each other, worried looks on both of their faces. Should we? Keralin asked telepathically. I'm not sure... I mean, he is a good flier now. Besides, this shouldn't be too dangerous. If we need to, we can take a break. There are many thermals above the water where one can rest while in the air. The argument wasn't too convincing for Keralin either. Maybe they should, it would be good for them to see the world and I haven't heard anything from Nilarek for a while. At least nothing Aeraldi couldn't handle. Keralin made up his mind. "Gather your things, you're coming too." He said to the both of them. "Really?" Hayren said, disbelief and happiness beaming from his face. "Cmon Taliear, let's find your saddle." And with that, they both ran off inside. "They should be fine." Keralin said to Eroth. "By Elven standards, they should be staying here, but I taught them like humans. Live like tomorrow won't come. They are definitely ready."

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth smiled widely and flew higher into the air. He said, Our sister is in a special part of my home. It is in this forest, and is partially on the way, so here we go! roared the male dragon happily as he sped away toward his home.
OOC: Seven Hour Time Skip.
IC: Eroth landed in front of the solid loking block of stone that made up his door. The mountain itself was hollow, but there were very few external ways in. He called upon his magic for the small door to the room that held the egg of his sister. He said, Go on in, it is safe enough, I have been careful to protect her from evil eyes since I first got here, but family is always welcome, I shall have to alter the ways in fro you should any of you ever need it. said the red dragon throughtfully.

Re: Blood Brothers
The journey was uneventful, and Taliear did prove himself to be a capable flier. Thank you Eroth. Aelir said, keeping an eye on Taliear. Keralin was watching the egg in the middle though. Another Dragon egg unharmed. His hand hovered over the top of it, afraid to actually touch the egg. Keralin swore he could feel the same type of energy in the egg as he did in Aelir. This one was definitely related. "So how is she supposed to find a good time to hatch if she stays in here? Maybe she is destined for a rider." Hayren offered. "I mean, the reason Taliear hatched so early was because of me so why should she suffer in this cave?" Dragons feel more at home in a cave. Taliear said to him. It's where we were born to begin with, and where we live in the wild. "But how do you know she isn't waiting for that special human or elf?" Keralin smiled at his two children arguing with each other, so much like he did with Aelir when he first began to talk. He sensed that Aelir felt the same way. "So does she have a name yet?" Keralin asked.

Re: Blood Brothers
Actually, yes, she does have a name, mother named all of us at the same time, her name is Syrca. said the dragon happily. Then he said, She may have a rider one day, but I am takign no chances, dragons, especially those in their eggs are very vulnerable. She could easily be stolen and bent to the evil of some one, and if she does have a rider, eventually he or she will get to her whether I hide and protect her or not. laughed the dragon. Then, to onyl Keralin and Aelir he said, The island is somewhere West of us, do you want Talear and Hayren to accompany us over the ocean, I can use magic, and I am sure you two are powerful, it is also their ancestoral home, and I am not trying to convince you wither way, you as their fathers have to be the ones to choose.

I do want them to come and, despite what you might think, my strength comes from my sword for my magic. Keralin said back. The strength I have is the one granted to me by my rider bond. "Let's go, I think we've spent enough time here." Keralin waved Hayren and Taliear to come out of the cave and climbed on top of Aelir once again. I wonder if we'll ever see her born... Hayren wondered. I'm sure we will, she can't stay in her egg for too long. Taliear said, listening in to Hayren's thoughts. Hayren climbed into Taliear and touched Sorrael, the metal shifted slightly beneath his touch but kept it's shape as a staff. "Let's go." He said, comfortable on top of Taliear.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth looked at the elf and said, Despite how weak you think to be, an elf can easily defeat any human, and most dwarves. You are stronger than you think. said the dragon to Keralin alone. He waited until everyone backed out of the small cave, released the magic and closed up the hole with the mountain. He looked up at the sky and said, Is everyone ready to go? asked the dragon as he flapped his wings and jumped into the air. He began to fly at a moderate pace toward the ocean, and hopefully his previous home.

"Let's go then." Keralin said, climbing on top of Aelir. Aelir looked at his children before taking off into the air, Taliear behind him.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: No problem.
IC: It was not long after that Eroth, Aelir, Taliear, Keralin, and Hayren were high in the air over the vast sea. He flew strongly, though the winds blew against them. Eroth continued to fly until the land behind them was lost to sight, even from the altitude they were flying at. Eroth was enjoyimg himself a lot, until his wings began to beat more and more slowly. He was not meant for lond distance flying, and he got tired easily when in the air for extended periouds of time. He looked at Aelir and the others and said, Now ... you see why I never made it back to my ... our home, I get tired when I fly for long periouds of time ...

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir flew calmly, easily, taking in the currents of air to keep him afloat. They were hard to find over water, but they did exist. You obviously haven't been around the Dragon I know. Aelir said amused. They love to fly, and to keep up with them you need to learn how to use the air to your advantage instead of pushing yourself over the top of it. See that wave to the left? There should be a large current of air rising from there, just sit on top of it. He looked back at Taliear, with Hayren sitting on top of him. It isn't as hard as I thought it would be. Taliear said when he saw his father looking at him. But I am getting tired too. I kind of wish that Aeraldi's children were here, they can find anything. Keralin had to say he had completely forgotten that his children had met Polaris and Saiph. But he did go about looking for some land. Aelir sighed and put images into the minds of both Taliear and Eroth, showing them the types of things they should look for when flying over the ocean.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth listened closely to his brother and found flying much easier when he wasn't actively flapping his wings to stay aloft. He continued his flight over the waters, in wonderment. He continued his flight until he came to some rocks which stoof up out of the water. He gladly slowed his progress and landed there. He panted slightly and said, If it is all the same to you, I think that I will rest here, at least for awhile. said the exhausted dragon. He said, This has always been the limit of my progress, I have never gotten much further than this on my own. There are some animals who live on these rocks, some friendly, others not so much, but there are a few who are good to eat.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir sat atop one of the rocks, wrapping his tail around the base for more stability. That's ok, I could use a break myself. He neglected to mention that every time he did fly with the others, he was always extremely tired at the end. Keralin sat still, holding a position that would allow himself to rest while not putting any strain on Aelir. He watched Taliear try to land on top of one of the flatter rocks, only to slip and take off into the air again. How did you manage to sit on there like that? Taliear asked of his father. It's hard enough to sit on this flat rock. Use your claws to dig into the rock, then use your wings and Hayren to help stabilize you. Aelir instructed. The rocks weren't too difficult after that, but they did chip a small part of Taliear's claw off. Hayren climbed off, taking his own steps very carefully. He grabbed Sorrael and morphed the end of the staff to spikes, which he pushed into the rocks to make himself stable. He then morphed the rest of the Staff into a cradle-like chair and sat upon it. Keralin saw his son and also climbed gingerly off Aelir, moving over to his son. He had a little more experience with rough surfaces, but they could still be treacherous. Eroth, shall we go fishing? Aelir said to his newly-found brother. I hope you can swim.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth looked at his brother and smiled widely. He said, How else did you think I got back to the mainland? asked the red dragon jokingly as he released his grip upon the rock and dove head first into the water. For some unknown reason, it had always been easy for him to swim, though he never really knew why. He dove straight to the bottom and waited on his brother, though the idea of a particularly large fish nearly caused him to leave the blue draogn behind...

Re: Blood Brothers
Keralin sat down next to Hayren, enjoying the fresh air that came from the sea and Aelir joined Eroth in the water, motioning for Taliear to join as well. Taliear hesitated a second, taking a look back at Hayren, then jumped in as well. The cold water on Aelir's scales felt refreshing, then he dived deep into the water. Taliear following a second later. Eroth, Aelir asked in the water, what are the lands that I come from like? Are there trees? I'm so sorry, but I can't help but be curious about it.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth swam powerfully through the water, and as he dove at one of the large fish, a grouper, he had heard it called said, Yes, there are trees, the lands we came from are very mountainous, and in the valleys, there are trees, waterfalls, and many other things. But, there are a lot of storms there, especially in the fall and in the spring. said thered dragon as he finally caught his prey. He killed the fish and used his magic to send it up to the surface where Keralin and Hayren could easily get it.

Re: Blood Brothers
Keralin saw the fish that surfaced and used magic to bring the fish to him. He skinned it with his knife while Hayren used his own magic with his ability to morph the rock into a bowl to cook the fish. Aelir had to admit he was ashamed he didn't give a fish to Keralin and Hayren first, but since it was done he continued to fish. At least until he ran out of breath and had to surface. He caught three fish already, all of which were a decent size. Taliear didn't have such luck though, finding swimming in the ocean a lot more difficult than swimming in a lake. Help dad? He said finally, surfacing for the third time. Aelir smiled and caught a few fish for his son. He was full enough anyway, and the rocks were warm. Aelir jumped out of the water and landed on the rocks once again, fanning his wings to the sun. Keralin ate the fish supplied by Eroth, adding a few spices that he had brought with him. He had to admit that being alone and on the move for a hundred years had made him quite the cook. Are there many other dragons there? Keralin asked telepathically.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth fished and ate what he caught under water, when he saw done, he flew up after Aelir and Taliear. He answered the elf, Well, yes and no, there are some, but I don't really know anymore, especially since the storm, it may be that none of the others survived the storm, but I prefer to think that they did. said the red dragon as he shook himself vigoriously to get the water off of his scales. He said, I think it would be best if we were to stay here for the rest of the night, since there is no telling how far we will have to fly tomorrow.

Re: Blood Brothers
"Probably for the best." Keralin said, though he was uncomfortable on the rocks. He smiled at Hayren, "Would you mind making a bed for us Hayren?" Hayren looked surprised for a second, then smiled as well. "Too easy." He stood back up on the rock, then used his magic to alter Sorrael again. He forced the metal into the ground, twisting it through the rocks. He had to hold on to one part of it to make his magic work, so he held on by a thin strand while the metal underneath worked to make the ground beneath them a little more comfortable as well as safe enough so they wouldn't roll off. Taliear landed next to them, sitting as close as he could to Hayren. He would keep Hayren safe at least. Aelir found a nice place a small distance away, he knew that Keralin would be fine for the night. Eroth... Aelir asked Eroth only, unsure if he would want to hear the answer. Do you... Do you sense anything different about me? I know I have grown, but... Do you think that Galbatorix did anything to my egg? Am I the same as you knew before?

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: If I answer wrong, let me know, because I can edit.
IC: While everyone was prepairing for sdleep, Eroth did the same, though he used his magic to form a large depression in the rock which was just as comfortable as home ... well almost. When Aelir asked him about how he changed, Ereoth began to think long and hard about it. He said, Hmm, well, outside of your egg, I didn't really know you, I simply knew you were my brother, and that Syrca wasmy sister... Why do you ask, do you think that Galbatorix did something to your egg, is that why you are asking, because I do not know very much about him either, other than that he is evil, and the elves hate him, as well as the dwarves, and the Varden, but I am sure that Keralin would know if something were done to your egg, but if you changed it does not mean that it was Galbatorix, it could have been any number of things, you could have been through some tramatic experience, having no idea who you are, would suffice for that, or maybe you lost someone you loved?

Re: Blood Brothers
What I mean is... Aelir hated himself for asking such a stupid question, but he had to know, Galbatorix twisted the Dragon he has now to his will with magic. What I want to know is if my spirit, or what ever you would call it, has changed. Did Galbatorix use his magic on me or not? Keralin could feel the anxiety coming from Aelir through their connection, something was bothering him. He could feel Aelir talking alone with Eroth, but he thought best not to interrupt unless Aelir asked him to join. Besides, he could always ask later.

Re: Blood Brothers
Hmm, I don't really know, I was young back then, and was too busy flying and burning things to really notice, but mother and father were with you, both of you almost constantly, heh, they were determined to see the two of you hatch. So, I thing that maybe mother would be the best one to ask about this, since she did know you better than I did, but that is just my opinion. Also, my ability is to use magic, not sense it, I could not any more tell you that Keralin did magic, than I could how many fish are in the sea, that is unless they use their magic on me and I physicaly feel, or see the affects, but mother would be the one to talk to aobut this, she will recognize you instantly and will see about you, you will know in no time.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir sighed, he supposed he should tell the real reason he wanted to know but he couldn't. It was something that had always been in the back of his mind since he was old enough to understand what little of his past he knew. At least before Eroth. He thought to himself, Will I suddenly feel drawn to him? Will I commit atrocities because I am compelled to?
Keralin couldn't hear Aelir's thoughts, but he knew all to well that distinct pattern of emotions that ran through him. When he had recovered from the Shadow Realm. He talked to Aelir telepathically, not wanting to wake Hayren or Taliear. Aelir, what are you thinking about? I know that string of emotions, and I think you do too. You've never had any reason to doubt yourself, so why now? Disappointment ran through their link, as well as shame, and Aelir's voice was so soft Keralin almost missed it. I don't know... There was always something, something missing in my life. I thought it was filled with Emrhyst, Eriel, Taliear and Hayren, but now... I don't know. I guess I was content with the fact that I would never know my parents and now I am actually going to meet them. What if I don't live up to their expectations? Keralin almost laughed. He included Eroth in his talk now, It doesn't matter if you meet their expectations. You have me and your family, we will never expect more from you than what you are now. You've braved Nilarek, braved having children, and have made friends who love and care for you. Sure, these are you parents but even if they don't approve of who you have become, it doesn't matter. You have us, and you always will. Gratitude filled Aelir, who then spoke to Eroth. I'm sorry about these questions... I'm just nervous.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth gave a rumble of laughter and said, I doubt you would dissapoint them, especially since they probably think that you, me, all three of us are dead, that is. laughed the red dragon, then he got a very somber look on his face, What if they, ... what if they are dead? asked the red dragon with a tone of despair about him. He looked up and said, What if all of them are gone, all of them, our family, our friends... everyone... said the red dragon, who was working himself into a deep depression...

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir sent what comforting emotions to Eroth. I'm sure they're fine. If they can fight half as hard as I can when my friends and family are in danger, then they will be alright. If his parents were anything like him. Keralin smiled at Aelir, having that hope.

Eroth smiled back at Aelir, as well as Keralin hopefully. He said, Well, as far as I know, we have a long flight tomorrow, so I am going to rest, I don't think there will be any need for someone to stay up and watch, because, well, we are in the middle of nowhere. said the red dragon as she moved about until he found a comfortable stop, then fell asleep.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Gonna skip to the next morning.
Aelir agreed and went to sleep as well, Keralin opening his mind to him as he did at the end of every day. Their thoughts becoming one, their dreams, hopes, loves, fears, everything. A peace settled between them, neither wanting to leave the other's mind.
Keralin and Aelir woke up at the same time, as they did most mornings. They troubled themselves separating their thoughts as the sun shone gently from the horizon. The water glimmered with a thousand points of light that shone off Aelir's scales, warming them once again. A breeze drifted slightly over the top of the water, bringing new scents. Keralin thought to himself that he would have to take Eriel here one day to experience the truly beautiful sunrise. Aelir took a moment to feel the sun's heat before jumping into the water once again, just for a swim his time though. He had caught enough fish yesterday to keep him filled till he reached land next. Keralin opened his backpack, taking out a few rations of fruit and vegetables and spread a few seasonings over them. He watched Hayren and Taliear with a heart full of nothing but love. He took a look over at Eroth too, still coming to terms that he was Aelir's brother.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth woke the next morning to the sound of a large splash. He looked down over the cliff to see Aelir dissappear under the waves. He yawned loudly and stretched like a cat. He said, Goodmorning all, when Aelir gets back, I think we should try to make some progress toward the island, I hope we aren't too far, but if we are far away, I am sure there will be other "rest-stops" like this out there, well I hope so. laughed the dragon. He walked to the far side of the rocks and used his magic to manipulate the water over his body to clean the dirt and grime off of his scales.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir could hear the voices coming from the surface through his link with Keralin and decided to surface. Poking his head out of the water, he used his wings to hold himself above the water. "Well, I'll wake the younglings." Keralin said, shifting to nudge Hayren awake. He knew how dangerous it was if you woke a Dragon while he was having a bad dream, so waking Hayren was the better choice. "Hayren, wake up." The dream that Hayren was having faded quickly in the light of dawn, the confusion of where he was passed quickly as he remembered the past couple of days. "Morning." He said drowsily. He saw the meal that Keralin had prepared earlier and began to eat. Wake up Taliear, we're leaving soon. Taliear woke up quickly, shaking himself of the sleep of the previous night as was soon ready to go. Keralin ate with Hayren, then packed up what was left of their meal and climbed on top of Aelir and Taliear. "Alright, let's go." Keralin said.

Re: Blood Brothers
When everyone was ready, Eroth leapt into the air. The moment he did, he began to put into practice what Aelir had told him. He flapped his wings hard, and soon was high enough that the air currents could easily carry him. He looked at the dragons around him and asked, Do you do much flying, Aelir, Taliear? as he flapped his wings in one slow, but wite sweep to keep his altitude level. He peered through the clouds that were not too far below him, and watched the water as it frothed and boiled.

Re: Blood Brothers
I do as much as I can, I love the sky. Aelir said, But not as much as I used to now since the lands have quietened down for the while. Taliear flies when he can, but he has nowhere to fly to. Because you won't let me out of the forest! I want to see this land that you keep talking about but you won't let me! 'It's too dangerous.' Taliear said mocking his father's tone. Because it is! Do you remember that time when Nilarek found you? The world is more dangerous than that! Yet you let me fly to some strange land you have never been to and cannot even tell me the danger of what could be there. What if it is worse? Because we feel that you are now old enough to protect yourselves from that danger. Keralin had not realized he had said those words with Aelir until he spoke them.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth listened to them fight amongst themselves. He laughed and said, Well, Taliear, your father is right, also, if you will notice, there are two fully grown dragons, some with at leaat some experience in fighting, as well as Keralin, so it is not as if they are letting you two out on your own, also, this mission is just to get somewhere, not fight. laughed the red dragon as he continued to fly. He looked at the clouds on the horizon and did not like what he saw. He turned his head to try to see the rocks, but they were long gone. He said, Keralin, Aelir, have you ever flown in a storm, because I amafraid that you will have to learn how to today. said the dragon as he prepaired himself for the dangerous flight through a tropical storm.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: How much longer do you think we'll be flying?
I usually avoid them, but I suppose we have no choice this time. Aelir said, watching the storm uneasily. And I'd much rather find a place to stay until it blows over, especially for Taliear. Hey, I can fly perfectly fine! Taliear said defensively. He could fly just as good as any other dragon. At least that's what both Taliear and Hayren thought. This is no time to be trying to impress us, I avoid storms at most costs. Nothing is more dangerous when you're in the air. Aelir said, hoping Keralin could find some sort of quarry to land in. Keralin had no such luck, although he did know a few things about storms. "When I was working aboard a ship, I think it was called 'Merry Way', storms were a part of life. When we saw a storm coming we angled ourselves to the out-skirts of it. It gave us lots of wind to propel us, but we still had to be careful because we could find ourselves in the middle of the storm easily. I think we should try to fly around it." Keralin had never been one for sailing, but he did remember everything he was taught about it. "When did you learn that?" Hayren asked, surprised that his father knew about sailing. "A life-time ago, during years I would rather forget."

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth listened to the wisdom of the elf and flapped his wings to do so. He looked back at the others and said, That is a good idea, Keralin. Also, not to get anyone's hopes up, but the land where we come from is known for its storms, they have storms a lot liek this almost constantly, but the mountains usually stop the largest of them, it was merely odd that the storm came through the one pass leading to the capital city, the one that blew you, Syrca, and myself from our comes. But, other than that, we have storms all the time, it keeps our island quite warm and keeps the plants very healthy, but for now we need to think about this storm in particular. And, it looks quite powerful. said the dragon as he flew higher to get out of the main part of the wind and flew slightly to the side to keep from flying into the eye of the storm.
OOC: It will not be much longer, I am trying to draw this out so that after New Year, I can apply with Leonitus and Syrca, and that will be a nice little twist at the very end fo the story, but after we try to get past the storm, but sadly fail, we will be there, but there will be some sort of catastrophe and we will have to fix it, of course, then we will journey back, and then my twist will come into play.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Why wait till next year to apply with the characters? We (The RPG Team) can probably have it accepted in a couple of days.
Aelir sighed at the mention of more storms at the place of his birth. His least favorite thing about flying was definitely storms. He listened to Keralin's explanation of the storm's pattern and angled himself off the to same side as Eroth. Hayren could feel Taliear's apprehension about the coming storm and shared it. Neither had ever flown in a storm and both could feel the strengthening winds. They followed Aelir and Eroth closely, afraid that they might not be noticed if they suddenly disappeared. A foolish thought. Hayren said to Taliear, after thinking on it for a minute. So how long should this storm be around for? Aelir asked, feeling the strain on his wings now.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Oh, I know that, I just want to get more used to Circe, and Ara before I post Leonitus and Syrca.
IC: No telling, some last a few hours, soem weeks, it all depends on the winds, and the watercurrents. said the red dragon as he tilted some more to get further form the storm. His entire body shook as a large gust of wind his him head-on. He, being more at the front of the roup was hit the hardest. He said, This one is goign to be a large one and I am afraid that our only choice is to try to fly around the side, meaning that we have some serious wind ahead of us, so be prepaired, there is no turning back now, especially since the storm is probably moving faster than we are, it is all or nothing. said the male as he flapped his wings strongly and wove in and out of the gusts of wind.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir took a deep breath and prepared for the gusts of wind that would surely follow. He flicked his eyes back to Taliear and Hayren for a second before returning to Eroth. He was worried, no he was downright scared. He had never thought that they might encounter a storm they couldn't avoid and now he was scared for Taliear. I'll keep an eye on Taliear and Hayren, Keralin said, you keep an eye on Eroth and where we have to go. Aelir sent his acceptance, glad that he had a rider to look in two places at once. Taliear flew as hard as he could, trying to keep himself level for Hayren's sake. The entire effort was becoming a strain. The winds were picking up, pushing him forward and pulling him back at the same time. Hayren held himself close to Taliear as much as possible and joined his mind with Taliear. They both felt the currents of the wind, both flapping their wings to keep stable and push forward. Their only goal was to keep up with Aelir and Eroth, not to lose them in the decreasing visibility. It was only a matter of time before the rains started. Eroth! Aelir said as loudly as he dared. We need to find somewhere to land! This storm is going to throw us off course and most likely kill us if we stay in the air much longer! As if to accentuate his point, thunder sounded off in the distance. It wouldn't be long before lightning became visible.

Re: Blood Brothers
I know, but there is nowhere to land right now, we will simply have to fight it out, stay behind me, Taliear, stay behind Aelir and myself, we at least can block some of the wind from the two of you. said Eroth as he roared his defiance to the winds and pumped his wings even harder. Then, he remembered, he could use magic! He casted a small spell, for he could not focus for but only so long in the uneven winds and the spell began to strengthen himself, he did not know if it would work on the others, but he did repeat the same thing on them, hoping to have good affects. He then went to a steep dive, in an attempt to gain speed and momentum, he did so, and circled up to re-gain his height. His face was haggard and his muscles ached, but he would not stop, he had to make it to the isle of his birth, the isle of his family, then the storm intensified too much, he lost control and was hurled into the waters.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Sorry it took me so long to write. Had a large block.
Eroth! Aelir yelled as he saw the Red Dragon thrown into the water. He didn't know what he felt then, but at that moment every single doubt in his mind evaporated. His brother was in danger and he had to save him. Keralin, stay with Taliear and Hayren. I have to save him. With that, Aelir flew over Taliear and let Keralin jump off from him. He dived into the water without hesitation afterward. "He'll be fine, don't worry." Keralin said to both his children and himself.
Aelir swam, looking for his brother, to make sure he was still conscious. He had never felt such a sense of urgency, so different from when his son or mate was in danger, yet still the same. Eroth! He called out.
I can't hold myself here, Taliear said to Hayren and Keralin, You're too heavy!

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Ok, good, I have an idea for this, how about Aelir reach Eroth, but they get swept away by the turbulent waters, while Hayren, Keralin, and Taliear, fight the storm, but lose control, and end up on another part of the same island Eroth and Aelir end up on?
IC: Eroth saw his brother in the dim light beneath the water and the storm. He said, I am here, Aelir, it is fine, the storm did naught but throw me in here, the only problem will be getting back out. said the dragon as he painfully moved hsi legs, tail, and wings to propel himself toward the surface. His entire body throbbed from the force of being hurled into the choppy waters. He looked at Aelir with a pained face as he worked his muscles to get to the surface and get a deep breath of air. When he did so, he looked up to see Taliear, Hayren, and Keralin still fighting the storm, but this time, they were further away. It too a second for it to register in hsi brain, then he roared to Aelir, The currents and the winds are blowing us away from Keralin, Hayren, and Taliear! We have to get in the sky!!

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir sent his agreement and pushed through the water to get to the surface. The water was so strong, still trying to push him down to the ground. He had to get to the surface, he could feel the terror in Keralin, the terror for his children, he had to make sure they were ok.
Keralin held on tightly to Taliear, placing his other hand around Hayren. He yelled over the roaring winds; "Hayren, merge your mind with Taliear! Make your strength his, spread your wings and hold them tight! The air around us can hold us up!" As a rule, Keralin had never touched his children's minds, feeling that it was an invasion of privacy. He had never even attempted to brush against them to know their touch, but this was a special circumstance and he had to give his energy to Taliear so he could fly. "Open your mind to me! I will give you what strength I can!"
Hayren had never thought about using his mind to contact his father, he had been taught that to merge your mind with another was a personal matter. So he had always kept it to Taliear alone. To open his mind to Keralin was a strange thought to him, but Taliear needed it. Okay father, my mind is open. He brushed against his father's mind. Immediately, he felt the love his father held for him, the terror of losing him, he need to give everything he had to keep them safe and finally, the power he held within himself. Brace yourself. He heard his father say in his mind. The amount of energy Keralin was sending through Hayren to Taliear made Hayren realize how strong the others must have been to come close to killing him. How arrogant he had been.
Taliear felt the energy flow into him, the strength. He felt his wings strength in an instant and could feel the air-flows around him. It still wasn't enough to control his flight, but at least he wouldn't fall into the water.
Keralin dimly felt the strain on Taliear, keeping it at a distance as he gave his energy to Taliear. He knew Aelir would be alright on his own for now, they would be able to find each other later if they got separated. Aelir, stay with Eroth I'll find you after the storm is over. The hatchlings will be safe with me. He noticed later at the use of Aelir's language. Taliear, we need to find a place to land and wait out this storm. Land on anything you see!
Aelir broke the surface, breathing in a deep breath of air. Rain pelted his nose now, making the surrounding area hard to see. He would never be able to find Keralin or the hatchlings until the storm was over. He heard the message from Keralin, yet the connection between them grew dimmer by the second. He tore himself from looking to the sky and spoke to Eroth, We need to find a place to rest but I can't see a thing in this storm!

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth growled his agreement to the blue dragon and roared loudly in his attempt to get back into the air. His wings and legs churned in the water with all their might, but despite his best efforts, he could not free himself from the powerful grip of the water. He looked at Aelir worriedly and said, We have no other choice, I cannot get free of the waters, so, I will have to swim for it. Remember, we came from Alagaesia which is somewhere to the southeast of here, and my homeland is somewhere to the west. Also, Keralin, Hayren and Taliear are likely going to try to find my homeland, meaning that we need to swim West to find them. Good luck. said the red dragon as he dive beneath the waves and swam as strong as his weary legs and wings would carry him, he was heading due West.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir looked in Keralin's direction one last time and grudgingly followed Eroth. It was one thing to talk about it, another thing to actually do it. As he tried to swim in Eroth's direction though, he found that he wasn't actually moving anywhere at all. He tried to dive underneath the water like Eroth did, but all he managed was to move a couple of inches before he had to re-surface for air. Eroth wait! He called out in vain. He swam against the current as best he could, but he was no swimmer. The air above him was still turbulent as ever and he wouldn't be able to fly anywhere in that wind. EROTH! He growled angrily, furious that his own brother would leave him to the depths. Suddenly, Aelir reasilzed he couldn't feel Eroth or Keralin anymore and knew he was alone in this unforgiving storm. West... I have to find Keralin and the hatchlings. He thought to himself as he looked around for any sign of where west was. He wished he could see the stars, he knew how to guide himself with them thanks to Keralin.
"There!" Keralin yelled as he spotted an out-cropping of some kind in the distance. "We see it!" Hayren yelled back as he looked where Keralin was pointing. Come on Taliear, you can make it! He gave what energy he had left in him for Taliear to make the flight. Taliear flew hard, panting heavily against the ever-blowing wind that constantly tried to push him into the waters. The out-cropping that Keralin pointed out was just another pile of rocks that seemed to emerge out of the water from nowhere, yet they were sturdy and had a cave that Taliear could see with his eyes. He felt Hayren go limp against his back as he recieved the last of his energy, Keralin also giving what he could without falling unconscious. Taliear flapped harder and harder, the rocks coming closer with each flap until Taliear managed to grip the rock face with his claws. He let his instincts guide him in scaling the rock until he entered he cave. Then he fell to the ground as gently as he could, though he still fell hard. He panted hard as the air wouldn't get into his lungs fast enough. Keralin grabbed Hayren by the waist and helped him off Taliear's back, laying him down the shivering dragon. He then unfastened the saddle on Taliear's back and threw in further into the cave. "Well done." He said to Taliear, laying a hand on his son from another mother. He was out of breath too as he gave what energy he could before. "I'm so proud of you, but now you have earned a rest. Sleep, I'll keep watch." Keralin was tired, but he knew he had to keep an eye out for anything that might call this cave it's home. Soon enough though he heard the deep breathing from Taliear that said he was sleeping. Keralin took out a few things from his pack, an apple and a few fruits, and promptly ate them. He had to stay awake, and he also had to find Aelir. He hoped that the storm would end soon. He prayed.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth continued to swim, however it was not long after that, that the exhausted dragon lost consciousness and was washed away by the powerful winds and strong current. The red dragon was pulled about until he became stuck between two large boulders on the edge of an island. The red dragon was thrown about by the sea, between the large rocks until he woke when a particularly large wave hit him in the face and woke him up. He looked about at the high cliffs around him, as well as the trees on the top of the cliffs and sighed. He had no clue as to where he was, nor to where Aelir, Hayren, Keralin, and Taliear were. He managed to get free of the boulders and began to move toward higher ground. The storm had lessened by much and seemed to have mostly passed on. He continued to travel inland.

Re: Blood Brothers
Keralin watched as the storm died down, he was grateful that no creature decided that this place was home. As the sun began to rise, he looked out at what was around him and where he was. He almost laughed at the absurdity when he looked upwards. Above him was a large cliff face, riddled with different types of coastal trees that held the bankment together. They had arrived at their destination. He moved over to Hayren and gently shook him awake. "It's time to wake. You need to regain your strength." Hayren rolled over and looked up at Keralin, sleep still heavy in his eyes. "Wha? Where?" He was confused, he didn't recognize his surroundings. The ground felt harder than his bed, what the heck was going on? The sudden rush of memory erased any tiredness he still held. "Dad! Where are we? What happened?" He asked, feeling out with his mind for Taliear. He put his hand on Taliear's side when he soon found him. "I remember the storm, but where are we?" "We're here." Keralin said with a smile. "In a cave on the side of a continent, which I'm pretty sure is the land we want to be at."
Aelir's claws touched sand, he had no idea where he was only that he had been struggling to keep his head above water for the duration of the trip. He noticed then that the waves were different than from in the ocean. He was on a beach, and he was grateful to know that he had arrived at land. Wherever you are Keralin, I'll find you. And with that, he crawled his way onto land and into the scattering of trees.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth continued to walk along the beach until he came to a narrow ravene, which seemed to lead higher into the mountains. He entered it and waked onward. He would have flown, but flying was still a dangerous thing to do, especially since the creatures that lived on this island, if any, may not like dragons very much and he did not need to dray any more attention than a half drowned red dragon could.
He continued on his walk until he came to the edge of a overly thick forest. It did not seeme familure in any way, and even seemed a little ominous, but still he entered. He walked forward, quietly whispering, If anything is out there, I mean you no harm, as long as you mean me none. and quietly walked on. He became aware of eyes watching him from somewhere in the trees, and after a while dismissed it, thinking, If they havn't attacked me by now, I don't think they will.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir was tired, he needed to eat and sleep, mainly sleep. Or maybe eat? Aelir shook his head of the thoughts and tried to find Keralin, the bond between them still not showing any sign. If he was thrown about like me then he should be near the water's edge. Which way though? He was so tired, his thoughts jumbled together. His stomach growled, the fish eaten a number of hours ago now gone. He searched out with his mind, eager to find any sort of animal he could feed upon. He chanced upon a group of deer that were grazing in a field now far from here he stood. Aelir ran on the ground, unable to find the energy to push himself into the air. He ran through the trees as nimbly as a cat, yet he still grazed a few of the trees. He jumped on two of the deer while he watched the others run off into the distance. He wished he had more claws to grab them too, but he already had his meal in front of him. He tore hungrily into the two deer, leaving not a scrap. When he was done, he wished he also had a source of water. Keralin can get me some water. He thought, looking off into the distance. I'll find him somehow. Aelir took off into the air, flying high across the water-front. He scanned the land below him to find anyone.I'll find you Keralin, I won't stop until I do.
"So what are we to do now?" Hayren asked as Keralin Taliear and himself managed to climb the rock wall. All he could see was trees, and not much else. "We wait." Keralin said, moving deeper into the forest. "Aelir knows that we probably have washed up on the same shore, so he will fly along the water-side to find us. If we stay here, then we most certainly will be found. After that, we need to find Eroth. I'm not sure how he might find us, since we don't share a connection to him, but we'll have to keep an eye out for any dragon we see. "Till then, let's eat. I'm sure you're all hungry, and I need some sleep." Keralin dropped his backpack on the ground, pulling out the materials to make a tent. What do we do if someone approaches that isn't a dragon? Taliear asked nervously. Keralin just smiled, "Just wake me, it shouldn't be too hard." Keralin unrolled his bed-mat under the make-shift tent, several pieces of cloth strung between a few branches, and lay down. "Keep your minds open, in case you see them and they don't see you."

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth continued into the forest and came to a small pool of water. He sniffed and watched the creatures beneath it. They did not seem overly scared of the large red beast above them, so he took no more notice of them and began to quench his great thirst on teh fresh water. He drank and drank, until his thirst was satisfyed, then walked away. He continued to walk until he came to the bottom of a large chain of mountains, which looked oddly familure. He did not think though and took to the air, soaring high over the mountains, as well as the lush green valleys below, however he soon came to a stop when he saw another figure far below.

Re: Blood Brothers
Hayren saw a shadow pass over him, though he wasn't looking at the sky but the ground. He immediately looked upwards at the sky, hoping to see either Aelir or Eroth. He did see a dragon, though he couldn't tell whether or not it was him or not. Taliear can you see that dragon above us? Is it Aelir, Eroth or someone else? Taliear looked to the sky, his own vision much better than Hayren's, though not good enough to see whether it was friend or foe. He decided to be brave like his father and call out to him. Who is that above us!?
Aelir was thirsty, there was no denying that. The deer he ate before was juicy sure, but it didn't quench his thirst. It did the opposite in fact. He rubbed his tongue around his mouth trying to moisten it up, but that did no good, it was just dry over dry. He needed water, and he needed it soon. Aelir looked down at the ground, trying to find anything that could satisfy his thirst. He was guiltily reminded of Keralin, how he had to find him, how he had to find his children too. Oh Taliear, Hayren... I hope you're still with Keralin. He wanted to cry, his children were missing and all he was doing was trying to find Keralin. He shook his head of such negativity, No. Keralin would never leave the hatchlings, he would stay with them like I would. Bah! Where are you Keralin!?

OOC: Did you want the thing flying above Keralin, Taliear, and Hayren to be Eroth.
PS. I will edit this post after I find out.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth flew toward the small figure and saw that is was a dragon. However, instead fo waiting around, the small green figure darted away into the trees at a high speed. Fanghur. thought the dragon as he landed and snifed the air and caught the scent of the creature. He quickly left the scene, knowing that fanghur were usually found in groups and that most anything they found they typically attacked and many times, killed. He flew swiftly away toward the more flat, less mountainous part of the island. The trees went from sparce, and scattered to thick and lush forests. He casted his mind before him and saw a consciousness before him. HIt seemed to be intelligent, so he decieded to try to communicate with it, he said, Aelir, is that you? asked the dragon to the figure, whose size, as well as color were hidden from him by the large trees.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir flew. It had only been one day, yet he was tired beyond belief. He didn't know why he was tired, he knew he hadn't been straining himself because he had to search farther. It was then he heard a familiar voice; Aelir, is that you? Eroth... Aelir knew, and anger he had been pushing to the side now bubbled to the surface. He turned towards the direction of Eroth and flew fast and hard, the fatigue he was feeling before instantly gone. You abandoned me to the depths! I screamed for your help and you just left me! Aelir had rarely allowed so much anger into his voice, a small pocket of his mind was surprised at he sheer ferociousness of it, though he wasn't thinking straight. His own brother hadn't had the decency to even try to stay with him.
The absence of an answer from the shadow above him made Hayren feel a tinge of fear, which leaked across the link over to Taliear. They had just given their position away to something that could very well be unfriendly. What does it look like to you? Hayren asked Taliear. It looks almost like a dragon, wait could this be one of those Fanghur that Keralin told us about? If so, then shield your mind. Hayren said, already fortifying his. He tried to remember everything his father had been teaching him, but his mind kept remembering how he had day-dreamed most of it and how he wished he was with Taliear. He sighed wearily, looking over to his father who slept almost peacefully. We can manage without him, after all how hard could something like that attack us? We have magic and you. Hayren said with a smile.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth growled as Aelir hurtled through the air at him. He roared at the blue dragon saying, I could not do anything to help you, just as you could do nothing to help me. Both of us were on our own. So, don't get mad at me. I don't want to fight you. said Eroth as he retreated from his angry brother. Eroth was a clear thinker and knew well that Aelir was likely as strong, or stronger than he was, but Eroth had one clear advantage, his magic. However, that was a last resort, and something he could never forgive himself if used against his own kin.

Re: Blood Brothers
The words burned in Aelir's skull, he knew what Eroth was saying was true but... But you didn't even try... Aelir said, slowing down. Losing the little ones has put me on edge, and you... All you said was 'Good luck' and you didn't even look back. He had never been angry at someone that didn't deserve it before, but here he was staring at his brother, still a strange thought to him, and he was accusing him of something that was out of either of their control.
A twig broke beside them, both Hayren and Taliear spun around to see what had broken it. Keralin yawned and stood up, stepping on the twig by accident. "Expecting something else?" he said as he begun the Rimgar. Hayren and Taliear both sighed deeply and relaxed. "There are Fanghur around and no sign of Aelir or Eroth." He said mechanically. "Take it easy boys, you'll have a heart-attack if you keep that up." Keralin said with a smile, re-opening his pack for more food. "Have some lunch and calm down. If they haven't found us by the time we've finished we'll make a beacon for them to spot okay?" Ok. Taliear said, lying down. It was strange for him being the largest thing around.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth looked at Aelir and said, What if I had stayed, then both of us would probably have drowned, it was better that each of us go our own way, then at least we had hope of surviving. said Eroth as he flew slightly closer to Aelir. Then he said, What else could I have said, I mean, 'good luck' was all there was to say. said the dragon as he saw his brother physically calm down some. He said, If you are thirsty, there is a small pool of fresh water in those trees over there. said the red dragon as he still watched Aelir cautiously.

Re: Blood Brothers
Thank you. Aelir said ashamed, hanging his head. He wanted to ask more questions, but he couldn't bring himself to do it after his outburst. Eroth didn't deserve his rage, why did he feel like there was more that could have been done? There was nothing. If nothing else, then two sets of eyes are better than one. When he got to the water, he drunk deeply. This would be the last time he drunk before he found Keralin, and when he did he wouldn't leave him for any amount of weather.
Keralin spread out the food before him, taking rations for himself but leaving everything else for Hayren. He knew Taliear would be hungry after that, but there was no telling what was in those forests. Keralin laughed at the thought, a dragon too afraid of a forest without his rider. Aelir would box his ears for thinking that, and he would laugh the whole while he did. Where are you?
The smell of the spiced fruit was appealing to Hayren, who ate quite readily. He felt Taliear's hunger as his own which made him eat more than he should have. If you're hungry then go and search for some food. I'm sure I'll be able to find you again, you're not going to go too far. Hayren said as he drunk some of their water. I know, I know. I suppose the time in the storm is still fresh in my memory. Taliear said, looking away. Then if you feel the wind come again then head for the ground and walk to us. We can walk to you as well. Taliear flicked out his tongue to touch Hayren before he heaved his bulk off the ground and into the sky. He was a dragon after all, nobody would mess with him.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth looked at Aelir once the blue dragon had finished its drink then said, Well, I have no idea as to where we are, whether we are on the edge of a whole new land, or a large island. So, if I had to guess, Keralin, Taliear, and Hayren have to be somewhere on this place, now, how far away that might be, I do not kow, but I am sure that between us we will find them, especially with your bnod to Keralin. Have you felt him by some chance?

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir sighed, ashamed to answer the question. No, that's added to the stress. I haven't found a trickle of him anywhere. What I do know however, is that he will be near the shore. We spoke of this once, when Keralin boarded a boat and I had to keep out of sight, if we got separated without a way of contacting each other then we would wait near the shore. That way we didn't have the land to search over.
When Keralin and Hayren were done with their meal, Keralin packed and begun digging a hole in the dirt. "Find what dead wood you can, sing what you must. We will make a large fire that will give out a lot of smoke, Aelir should be able to see that from a good distance away in the air." He said to Hayren. "Taliear should be back soon, what can really harm a dragon?"
Hayren didn't like the words, but he knew them to be true. He had been with Taliear his entire life, since he was born in fact, and he had never known to be without him. If I make it through this without him them I'll be much better off for it.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth looked at Aelir decisively and said, Ok then, lets to to the sea shore, that way we can simply circle the island, or at least go up the coast of the place until we see Keralin. said the dragon to his brother as he rose into the air with a few flaps of his wings. He rose higher and higher until he was only a few meters from the clouds themselves. From this height, he scanned the land below, them, the rolling plains, the thick forests, and the large hills, but nothing more than small creatures flying about, however they did seem to look a lot like dragons.

Re: Blood Brothers
After Keralin had finished digging the clearing that would make sure that their flame wouldn't set the entire forest on fire, he filled it with the wood that Hayren was gathering. When the pile was large enough, Keralin took a deep breath before setting it aflame. "Keep low to stay below the smoke and be ready to put out this fire if it looks like it's going to spread. Also," He said extremely seriously, "this is going to display our position to everyone. Be on your guard for anything that could come." Hayren drew out Sorrael and morphed the staff into a sword. "I'm ready." He said confidently, happy that Taliear had returned before the beacon was ready. "Do it Taliear." Taliear breathed in and set fire to the mass of wood in front of him, which almost immediately started pouring black smoke into the air.
Aelir flew with Eroth calmly, watching the land next to the shore. He was still worried that he couldn't feel anything from Keralin, though he was happy that he had made up with his brother. Still a strange thought, I have a brother. He looked behind him, wondering if he was going the wrong direction.
OOC: You can choose where the smoke comes from.

Re: Blood Brothers
OOC: Ok, but they cant find em just yet, I mean, there is no action there, but we will find a large fire. IC: Eroth looked about intently for some sign as to where Keralin, Hayren, and Taliear were, but he saw none. He watched the coast intently, even extending his mind toward it. Then, however he smelled some smoke. He looked at Aelir hopefully and asked, Would Keralin and the others build a fire to alert us of their location? asked the dragon who turned to fly inland toward the fire...

OOC: How about Keralin and the kids draw the wrong kind of attention and Eroth and Aelir come to the rescue?
I think so, maybe we should check it out. Aelir said, angling himself towards the source of the fire.
Keralin waited, hoping that nothing would be coming their way.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth growled and flew toward the smoke. He flew up to where the smoke was boiling out of the surrounding bush and saw that this was not a flame that was likely created by Keralin, or Hayren for that matter. It was dragonfire, judging by the heat of the askes of what was left of the trees in the area. There were also claw marks on the ground, a fight jusding by the different sizes of them. The red dragon observed the marks closely and saw that there was one set that was different from the many others, they were large, as large as Eroth's or Aelir's. Meaning that this was a dragon, the others were smaller, but much more sharp and curved. He looked at them and asked Aelir, What creature makes marks like these?

Re: Blood Brothers
I have no idea. Aelir said, looking at the marks. There are only three creature that I know that could make these marks, Dragons, Fanghur, or... He didn't like the last option, though it was a very real possibility. Or Lethrblaka. I don't know about you, but apart from Nilarek or those lot, they're the last things I want to run into.
Keralin heard a rustle of leaves to his left and spun to face it. He didn't feel Aelir so it had to be something else. He drew his swords lightning quick and held them about so they would seem defensive. "Hayren, Taliear..." He said softly, so they the new-comer wouldn't hear, "Prepare yourselves."
Hayren morphed Sorrael into a shield, then split it so that he would have a spear as well. Keralin taught him them so that he could protect himself and stay back from danger, Hayren wanted something different but he thought he should stick with what he knew. "Aelir?" He called out, hoping that it was his parents playing with him, though he knew in his bones that they weren't. A figure came rushing out of the bushes, a figure so distorted that it seemed like the nightmares of all little children had come true. Hayren was frozen by fear.
Keralin moved lightning quick, his feet pounding the ground beneath him until he stood in front of Hayren and cut down the intruder. "Ra'zac!" He looked around for more, but couldn't sense any. "Their greatest weapon is fear, don't give in to it. And don't bother trying to locate them with your mind, you won't find anything." Keralin let himself slip into the stance of guardianship, his feet light on the ground to cover the area around Hayren. He let his natural senses wander, his hearing enhanced by the silence, his eyes searching for any movement and his stomach telling him where to move next. "HAYREN!" He shouted.
Hayren was broken from his fear induced paralysis, his eyes now searching the area around the campsite. He forgot about Taliear and how much his fear would prevent his dragon from moving. We can do this, we've trained for this.

Re: Blood Brothers
Hmm, a Lethre'blaka, you think that they would be this far out to sea, especially since they hate water, would you not think so, unless maybe this could be the place that they came from, in which case ... we will be in some serious trouble if we don't find Taliear, Keralin, and Hayren soon. said the dragon as he observed the clawmarks, then the powerful stench of the marks.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aye. Aelir said, looking at the claw marks himself. There was a dreadful feeling down in his stomach, something was happening with Keralin. If only he could find him! Aelir growled slightly to himself and took off into the air again, alert for anything that might come at them.
Keralin stepped on the ground lightly, no creature was going to catch him flat footed, at least not while his son was involved. An unnatural rustle to his left caught his attention and Keralin spun to face it. He moved his blades quickly, preparing for another charge. He didn't expect a dagger to come flying at them. If he didn't move, he'd get hit, but if he didn't, Hayren would. Keralin's paternal instincts kicked in and he stood his ground, he brought his swords up in the hopes of deflecting the dagger but he knew he didn't have time. The dagger hit him squarely in the gut and almost immediately he could feel the poison that was etched onto it. "Nrg." He grunted. Keralin found the strength to hold his legs upright to be much more than usual. He had a feeling he wouldn't be able to hold it for much longer, but he knew he had to protect Hayren.
Taliear heard the sounds that came from Keralin and decided against keeping the forest. He breathed in and blew fire over the surrounding forest, if there was any creatures still lurking inside then they would be burnt to a crisp. He felt a moment of regret for the forest, but that was quickly washed away by his concern for Keralin and Hayren.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth followed his brother into the air and flew slightly behind the blue dragon. He said, Is there any way for you to locate Keralin? Because there is no telling just how large this island is, nor how far away Keralin, Hayren, and Talliear are from us, nor how far we were washed away from them. Do you know of any way whatsoever? asked the dragon as he used his eyes to scan the ground below them for any trace of the elves and dragon.

Re: Blood Brothers
There's nothing. Aelir admitted, This link of ours works a great distance, but just not that far. Whenever we go on an adventure like this, I try to never let him off my back for fear that something like this would happen. I swear, sometimes that Elf can never take care of himself. Too many times I've had to- His thoughts were interrupted as he felt danger through his bond. Keralin's in trouble. He growled angrily, turning his head from side to side, trying to find anything that would show him where his rider was. Strangely, he felt a tug, pulling him north. We go this way, don't ask me why, I just know. He pulled his wings in tight and flew as fast as he could. If anything happened to you, I will make sure you never leave me alone again even if I have to strap you to my back.
Keralin could feel the poison working quickly, his strength sapping from him faster than ever. The pain in his leg returned, a wound from a life-time ago. Come on Aelir, let your instincts guide you. The flames around him were slowly dying and soon they would give way to any creature that so desired to attack them.
"Dad! Let me heal you, please!" Hayren started the magic, "Weise Heill." Keralin slapped his hands away, focusing on the forest around them. "Save your strength, you may need it soon." "But..." "But nothing! Stand your ground and be prepared for anything!"

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth zoomed off after Aelir as fast as his wings could carry him. He did not know Keralin or Taliear, or Hayren well, but he still felt as if he owed it to Aelir to follow fight, and yes, even die for them. They were family and that was what family did. He soared after the blue dragon as fast as he can, however he was not as fast as the blue dragon so he followed at a distance.

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir flew as fast as he could, straining his wings to their limit. He could feel Keralin weakening through his link, could feel his strain. Wait. He could feel Keralin's strain. He was getting closer! You stay alive, I'm almost there!
Keralin's eyes felt heavy. He could feel his vision fading with each second, gravity's hold on him becoming stronger and stronger. The pain in his leg grew, the old wound from another life-time ago. Keralin thought dimly about whether or not it would ever go away. Don't you dare give up! He heard a voice in his head. It was so familiar, yet he couldn't place it. You never gave up before, don't you dare start now! Aelir? Was Keralin's last thought before falling to the ground.
Hayren watched in horror as his father, his legs slowly buckling under his weight, finally gave way. He ran towards Keralin and stood over him, using his shield to protect both himself and the prone figure of his father. He raised his spear in defiance to anyone who would harm either of them. At least until he heard a familiar voice; Hayren! I'm on my way, don't you dare give up! Aelir!? We need your help, Dad's hurt! I know. Hayren nodded to Taliear, who breathed in once again and bathed the forest in fire.

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth roared angrily when he saw that Keralin was injured. He soared over the forest that was left after Taliear's flame had passed over it, and then himself sent a powerful flame that scortched the ground to a point where it would be years befor the grass would grow again, then he saw a small, nimble figure running through the trees. Eroth roared and said, Raz'zac!

Re: Blood Brothers
Aelir landed close to Keralin and began barking orders. Hold them off for a moment Eroth, Taliear you help him! Hayren, I'm going to teach you a very powerful spell and I want you to cast it with the energy in my body. Never use this spell until you are older or you will die, do you understand? Hayren nodded, a sense of surrealism surrounding him. He opened his mind to Aelir, who gave him the words to a spell that would remove all poisons and several other things that Hayren didn't recognize. Good, now make sure you word it correctly or this will not work. I'm giving you access to all the energy within my body, use all of it if you must. Do you understand? Aelir looked at Hayren extremely seriously, his blue eyes staring at the young elf. I do. Hayren said, reaching for Aelir's energy. Much like his father's, but far more vast and extremely more alien. He spoke the spell while laying his hands over Keralin, who was breathing irregularly and beginning to look pale.
Taliear looked out the the forest, which still was on fire. Eroth, can you see any more of them?

Re: Blood Brothers
Eroth growled and flew above the trees, burning everything in his path, animal, plant, Raz'ac, it did not matter his family was in danger, he would not tolerate anything to harm them. He roared angrily and burnedyet another monster to ashes. He said, Taliear, follow behind me and kill anything that I miss! said the dragon as he burned yet another tree to the ground.
