I don't know how accurate Wikipedia.com is but is says At the end of Eldest, the Varden still favor Nasuada in terms of leadership, but Paolini has hinted that in book 3 this might change.I just don't know what to make of it. What do you think?

uh, maybe nasuada made a big mistake and then the varden dont like her or something.

there have been much talk about who the next rider will be. u never know 4 sure until CP's book comes out.

Well saying she did get booted from her seat who do you think the leader would be? I'm tempted to say Roran but I would rather see him as king of Alagaesia.

For one you can't really trust Wikipedia, it sometimes has people making up things. And 2 no I don't think they'll change, especially this quickly, I mean they'll be having like 2 changes in the last couple of years, and that would look weird and there is no more time. So no I don't think they'll change it.

I agree Ebrithil Arya, I want to see Roran as King, not really leader of the Varden... He is more driven at the Raz'zac then Katrina anyways... Paolini said that there would a change in Nasuadas character... this could imply many things, her being the next rider, and maybe losing leadership... I hope she doesn't...

But why wouldn't she be like anymore? She's only been leader for like a couple of years or less.

If it happens that she's not liked anymore then the obvious answer is "We'll find out in 'Empire'". I don't know what would cause her to lose her leadership. Wait! What if she died? But of corse they did just lose Ajihod...

She hasn't died, because of what you've said, they just lost Ajihad, losing Nasuada would be too quick and I think that'd put the Varden in a chaos.

well, yes. it will be just like losing another ajihad, only nasuada.

Nasuda might die... And maybe Orik will take over?

i think Orik will become Dwarf King. One mistake is to refuse for help....but i doubt that would happen lol.

He could be the Dwarf king. But he could also lead the Varden. You know, to more unite the dwarves and the Varden.

I agree with you on this one. Even though nothing is written in stone, some things are more likely to happen then others and Orik being the King of the Dwarven community seems to be one of them.
In regards to leading the Varden, I think Nasuada is also likely to keep her post. Maybe the change in character would be tying her romantically with Orin?

The only way I see her losing the leadership of the Varden would be in the event of her demise; but then we are told in Eldest she had named Eragon her successor if it should happen... And that would seem all wrong, at least for me it would be really wrong... but that's just me...

I think the varden will just completely dissolve at the end of the book. Their only purpose is as freedom fighters overthrowing galby, so with galby dead, what's the point?

hey, if nasuada doesnt keep her post, then eragon will have 2 replace her and eragon doesnt want 2 be leader of anything and that would like sort of stuff up the book a bit with us reading about what he did. u no, a tiny bit boring.
