Post The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
apparently a new Mummy movie is coming out later this year. titled "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". apparently rick o'connell and his son, alex o'connell uncover the mummy of the first emperor of Qin. while the movie is bringing back brendan fraser as rick, unfortunately it seems they have replaced evie's actor rachel weiz with maria bello. :( for all u hardcore mummy fans out there, it seems they're going in a completely different direction with the story (china?) if u didnt like the previous mummy movies, it might b a nice change of pace, but to me it looks like this movie is going to crash and burn. thoughts anyone?

Well, I thougt the earlier movies were terrible

And the plot synopsis on http://www.imdb.com :

"In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Fraser) and Alex O'Connell (Ford) unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard (Yeoh) centuries ago."

Sounds dumb. Another "magical being rises from the dead and terrorizes people until the hero wins" kind of movie"

In my humble opinion...

Are you serious?! I liked the mummy movies, but if they're going to change rachel weiz with some other actress then I'm not so sure about this movie. Not to mention they're dealing with China now. Not even in egypt anymore! What kind of s**t is that?! I seriously doubt that I'll be watching this movie. They should have just cut to the son being older and have the original mummy guy come back for some crazy reason, but oh well.

I honestly thought that they weren't gonna come out with a third ever since Brendan Fraser a.k.a. "Pudding Face" went into his midlife crisis. But, I guess I was wrong. And with the Rachel Weisz thing, I can understand it. She's become a big Oscar-winning/nominating actress ever since she broke out with the first Mummy. She's gone on to bigger and better things.
