Vranga
Name: He calls himself Vranga in his human form, meaning Wanderer, his actual name is spoken in the Ra’zac language and cannot be written.
Age: 68, appears to be in his early-twenties when in his human form.
Gender: male
Skills: In human form:
Physical: He moves just as quickly, if not more so, than most Elves, and is almost as strong. Being part Dragon, all of his thoughts are in the Ancient Language, making him incapable of lying even when speaking normally. Unfortunately, he is unable to speak the Ancient Language due to the fact that he attained his human form just before his parents died, and is completely unaware as to the reason why he cannot lie. On his back there is a series of symbols, these symbols contain a spell that allow him to shift easily and quickly between forms without effort. Being a natural predator, he is very adept and combat and hunting, his senses greatly surpass those of an Elf, and he is very stealthy when he needs to be. He is adept with many mid and long range weapons, and is most proficient with either a longbow or kusari weapons, often using Seithr Oil in combination with arrows or blades to make them more deadly. He has razor sharp teeth, as well as retractable talons on his hands and feet. His breath can induce a dream-like haze on humans; this is less effective on Dwarves, and almost useless against Elves or Dragons.
Mental/Magical: His use of magic is limited for the most part to the natural abilities inherited from his father, who was a black Dragon, and his mother, who was a Lethrblaka. His mind is both undetectable and untouchable without his consent, an ability he finds extremely useful when hunting, and one he inherited from his mother. His inability to use most magic also allowed him to focus on his mental powers which in turn caused him to become very adept at locating, observing, and breaking into the minds of others. The powers he inherited from his mother, aside from those already mentioned, are limited to a powerful ear-splitting shriek, usable in his true form, that he has learned to replicate mentally, projecting it into the minds of his opponents in order to debilitate and incapacitate them. His powers inherited from his father are somewhat more extensive, being the powers of a Shadow Dragon. He is able to create black, mist-like shadows inside his body that are released through his skin in human form, this mist blocks out all light and most sound, and allows him to feel the movements of those it touches. He is also able to magically absorb and manifest objects using the shadows, once an object is absorbed it can be re-manifested indefinitely in the form of magical darkness, or once in its original form. The exception to this ability is substances such as Seithr Oil, which he cannot magically recreate after he absorbs them.
In Sundablaka form: In this form he can no longer speak in human tongues, but can speak directly into a person’s mind regardless of any mental shielding. He is generally much faster and more agile than a Dragon of his size, but not quite as strong or able to withstand quite as much damage. He is able to release an ear-splitting screech both physically and mentally to debilitate or interrupt the concentration of his targets. He is able to release mist-like shadows from his skin and mouth in this form as well, with the same effects. He is able to become one with the shadows, including those he does not create, in either form, and can shift easily between the realms of light and shadow.
Race: He refers to himself as a Sundablaka (literally “shadow flapper”), in truth he is a cross between a Lethrblaka and a Shadow Dragon.
Hair: Black in human form
Eyes: Pure black, even in human form.
Home Village: He was born far to the Southeast, beyond the Beor Mountains.
Parents: Sundaskul – Father (deceased), “Freohr” (actual name unpronounceable) – Mother (deceased)
Siblings: None
Character Personality: Vranga has a two-fold personality, outwardly he is very much like any other person, but he spent so long blending in that his human persona eventually became just as much a part of his personality as his hunter persona. In any normal situation he acts completely human, he can have a rather short temper at times, but he tends to hide it behind a mask of passive-aggressive calm. He makes friends and lives his life just as anyone else would, though he is not particularly inclined towards either good or evil. However, in a situation where a threat arises, or he simply loses control over himself, he becomes much more inclined towards evil. Able and willing to eat just about anything, he views everything living around him as potential prey, and acts as such. Though he still acts relatively calm and passive, it is only so that he can get close enough to his prey to strike unnoticed. He generally prefers to live a normal life, though because of the delicate balance between the two personas clashing within his mind, it would be all too easy to convince him to fully embrace one or the other, or to influence his alignment towards good or evil. He generally tries to do what is best for himself first, and think of others after.
Character History: Vranga was born deep within the forests to the south-west of the Beor mountains in what most would consider to be a somewhat disturbing union between a Shadow Dragon and a Lethrblaka. To the humans, the offspring of two such creatures would be akin to a nightmare given life and form. For a long time, spells woven by his father kept them hidden and safe, until one night the unthinkable happened. While out hunting, his mother was tracked and attacked by humans from a nearby village. Though injured she managed to make it back to the safety of their home, when Vranga and his Father learned of this, both wanted revenge against the humans. Such was their nature. Sundaskul inscribed his son with a spell that would grant him a human form so that he could blend in easily with his prey, and began to teach him how to hunt on his own. More than hunt, he taught him how to fight and kill with ease, and he taught him to enjoy it. Vranga’s father took pride in each of his kills as he systematically tracked down and killed every last human from the village that had attacked his mother. One night he returned from a hunt to find the slain bodies of both his parents, and the lingering scent of a human magician. He tracked the man through the forest and found him to be an ancient Rider who had killed his parents because he believed them to be the ones killing all the villagers. In a split second of rage in his human form, Vranga lashed out at the man with his talons and his breath and killed the man. Taking the Rider’s weapons as trophies, he returned to his home to bury his parents, then set off across the Beor mountains in order to leave his old life behind.
Weapons: Shadow Weaponry: Vranga has absorbed many different weapons, which he is able to manifest as weapons made of magical darkness at will. The most common weapons for him to use are a double-ended Kusarikunai (two knives, one curved and one straight, attached by a chain. The original is made of Brightsteel), and a powerful longbow designed to withstand the strength of an elf. The knives on either end of the chain can change shape slightly when manifested as shadows, and the chain itself is extendable. The straight knife can split apart once it enters an opponent so that it cannot be pulled out, and the curved knife can become a larger Kama (a small scythe).
Likes: Darkness, the thrill of the hunt, eating, sweets, fighting
Dislikes: Bright light, being hunted, bitter foods
Weakness / Fear: The spell on his back is the only thing allowing him to appear mostly human, if it is removed in any way he will be left with only his true form until he can find a new spell to replace it. He also fears deep waters slightly because he does not swim very well.
Animal Companions: none, though carrion birds such as crows usually seem fond of him.
Character's Physical Description: In his human form he has jet black hair and eyes, with pale white skin. He is almost always barefoot and wears cotton pants and shirts that have been magically dyed black. They are loose around the torso and legs, and tight at the wrists, waist, and ankles for fighting. His eyes are pure black in either form so he usually keeps them hidden in human form. In his true form he is built much like a Dragon, except that he is slightly smaller than a Dragon his age would be. He has the beak of a Lethrblaka as opposed to a Dragon’s snout, and all the muscle in his body is thin and corded, making him appear much thinner than a Dragon would be as well. As a result he moves faster than a dragon would both in the air and on the ground, but is not quite as strong. His skin is comprised of black Dragon scales with a thick hide underneath.
Dreams for the Future: Hunt, feed, live life to the fullest. Perhaps even find a mate.
Reason for Dreams: Vranga is still relatively young all things considered, and wants nothing more than to live out his life the way he sees fit.
Alignment/side: Neutral for now.
