Sera cut through the water like a knife. She had heard rumors, terrible rumors of an evil beast; a kraken attacking the two legs, as well as dragons as they flew overhead. But, this was not the worst of the rumors. The most threatening and intriguing rumor that the blue dragoness had heard was that of the dark water.

Sera had seen the affects of the dark water, the fish she was swimming amongst were more than enough evidence; they had abnormalities, more than two eyes, multiple limbs, but most of all was the horrid stench of them, because they were rotting from the inside out. It seemed the dark water was some sort of parasite, or even a germ of some sort, but no... it was magic. The blackest of black magic. It was fueled by only the most evil, and likely as not, Galbatorix himself had something to do with it.

Sera watched as the poor animals, seals, sharks, fish, and even dolphins died because of the dark water. A small tear left her eye. She was the only protector the sea had left, this was her job. As the mistress of the waves, it was her duty to protect the oceans, lakes, streams and rivers from the evil that could so easily taint it. She bared her teeth in a fierce snarl. Whoever or whatever it was that was harming her home, she would repay tenfold.

Sera leapt into the air, looking for help, she saw none, but that did not mean that she was afraid, no she would face the evil and either triumph, or die. She roared angrily and flapped her small wings as fast as possible and began flying toward the dark mass on the horizon, the small island of Uden. There, she would rest and bide her time. She would be prepared for whatever came her way, she was Sera the mistress of the sea, none would stop her.

Two days later, the blue dragoness raised her head. It was midmorning, and there slight breeze blowing. The sun was high over the still cool water. Sera got up, her small kill of a deer long forgotten. This was the day she would go and investigate the dark water, and hopefully find how it was created and stop whoever it was that was creating it. Sera opened her wings and flapped them rapidly to gain air. She was soon over the clouds and soaring like an eagle. Sera followed the air currents toward a dark blot in the distance, but as she got closer, the blot did also. She realized that it was the water itself, but it was black as night. Sera continued to fly over, growing more and more nervous and on edge. The blue dragoness opened her fire lung and spewed forth white fire, but it had no affect on it. It must not be created by shadows, but if not that, then what? Thought the dragoness to herself. She made another pass, but as she was flying over, a small tendril of the black goo wrapped itself around her hind leg and began to drag her into the water.

OOC: I'd join with Solarae, but... I don't think she'd be very happy with me if I did... So I'm bringing in Sirius for his first solo adventure!!!

IC: Sirius took a deep breath, letting it out with a sigh. The world up here felt so empty... so remote. It seemed as if nothing could touch him at this altitude, a place where even the clouds were distant clumps of white vapor. They seemed even farther away than they had on the ground. Sirius would not allow himself to let his guard down, however. He was always alert, always ready for an attack or emergency, and prided himself for the fact. Sirius would always be ready in case someone needed his help, or if something decided to attack.

The young dragon felt a small tug on his body, urging him to fly out over the ocean. He promptly changed direction to fly further to the southwest. Sirius was not one to ignore his instincts. Like his mother, Phalynx, he possessed the ability to know where he was needed or wanted, or where he should go. And like his mother, he always followed the urge.

Sirius smiled as the coastline faded in the distance. Out here, because of the blue water, it felt as if the sky was never-ending, stretching in all directions. His smile faded when he noticed a dark, evil patch on the water far below. He could sense the shadows radiating from it, polluting and clogging the water with evil. Evil that must be banished, he thought with determination. Sirius folded his powerful wings and dove, the sunlight shimmering off his white scales and glinting silver in the curves along his limbs and off of his wings.

The dragon entered a cloud, disappearing amongst the similarly colored moisture. As he came out the other side, he noticed another dragon below him. He used his farsight to see the other dragon more clearly, and saw that she was an older blue female. Sirius stiffened as a shadowy tendril broke from the dark waters below and stretched towards her menacingly.

He pinned his wings as tightly to his sides as possible, trying to cut a sleek and smooth path through the air. As he came up to the scene below, Sirius stretched his wings into narrow triangles along his flanks to slow himself, and unfurled them little-by-little. When he was close enough, he emitted a powerful stream of starfire, the customary silver tinted white. The blinding flames cut through the rope of darkness, burning it away. Sirius flared his wings and flapped hard, pulling up from his dive and stopping just above the water, the force of his flaps sending large ripples across the blackened surface.

What do you know about what's happening here? he said breathlessly, turning to the blue, a worried look on his face.

Sirius followed silently after Sera, keeping watch over their flanks and back, and the water above them. It wouldn't do to have anything sneaking up on them when they weren't looking. He peered forward into the gloom when Sera's form suddenly lowered with a gesture to follow, and he stepped to the edge of the pit. Within the pit was a disturbing creature, black-tinged, evil waters vomited from its large mouth. It's manner reminded Sirius of a large toad. There is something evil about that thing for sure. I can sense great darkness within its core, though whether this is of its own creation or is that of another being's, I cannot tell, he replied, staring at the thing.

OOC: Oh no, I just came up with a very evil idea. I shall wait to see if I can use it, though.

OOC: Oh, tell me more.

IC:
Sera glared at "it" then took a step closer, but the closer she got, the more dark water floooded out of its mouth. She turned back to Sirius and said, I- I don;t know what do do about this one, I don't want to harm it if this is not its fault, but I cannot allow it t continue to create dark water. Because, though we have found its source, we still have no way to destroy it ... yet. the blue dragoness looked at the creature and roared loudly, Who are you, what are you doing?!

The creature looked over at theh intruders. It was just the opposite, not dead, but perfectly alove. It turned its head slowly and looked at them, observing them, watching.

OOC: lol, it won't affect Sera or the plot really at all, but for some reason, I think it would be interesting. I'll only do it if the circumstances are right, though, so you probably don't have to worry about it.

IC: Sirius stepped forward, walking until he was side-by-side with the blue dragoness. He looked pointedly at her. Even if this is not this creature's fault, it will have to die. We cannot sacrifice the safety of the world for this one thing, he replied, his muscles tense and his mind anxious. He lowered his head until he was glaring at the creature, his lips just raised to show the gleaming white teeth underneath. The light emanating from his scales intensified. Sirius opened his jaws and shot a warning stream of starfire to the side. He watched with satisfaction as it cut through the dark water before swirling away in small, silvery, sparkling whisps that seemed to mix with the water rather than be put out. If Sirius could choose any one of his magical powers to keep, it would be starfire. He wondered if it would cut through normal water, though. Probably not.

Sera nodded, sadly and prepaired to attack, but just as she began to leap upon the creature, it talked.

Why do you attack what is perfect, you cannot harm me, though my arms and legs are paralyzed, you stand no chance against me... See? the creature with a powerful mental blast broke Sera's concentration and caused the bubble of air they were in to burst. The water rushed in. He smiled evily, You stand no chance.

Sera roared loudly and grasped the white dragon, indicating the surface that was high above. She began to try to pull him to the surface.

[color=#0080FF]Sera looked at the white dragon doubtfully, but said, Ok, lets go back to the islands. You will be safer there, and the water around it will likely as not be tainted yet. said the blue dragoness as she, with the help of her powers created a small patform out of the water to make it easier for her to fly. She jumped into the air and began to fly as a somewat slow speed.

Sirius hung his head again. Great. Now how am I supposed to fight this evil water if I'm sick?! he thought, upset. He clambered onto the platform after Sera had taken off and flapped his wings powerfully, catching the air and rising up. He supposed there was probably more to think about, before they rushed in again. Perhaps their preliminary investigation had been premature? No; otherwise there would be nothing to go on. Sirius knew that they had enough information now to make some plans, and some guesses of how to start the task of defeating this evil. He figured he could probably do that much even if he was sick. How close are we to the islands? he asked hesitantly, trying to get past the slight awkwardness that had sprung up.

OOC: I just noticed: awkwardness is an awkward-looking word...

OOC: Lol!

IC:
Sera looked at the young male, noting the odd sickly expression on his face, then said, It isn't far. We are not bur a few minutes away.

OOC: Five Minute Time Skip, lol!!!

IC:
Sera landed on the small isle of Parlim. The blur dragoness had marvled at the skill and ease of the othe rin flight, even in his predicament. Sera had wound up having to swim the majority of the way to keep up with him. She looked about and asked, Humgry, I can always bring some fish to the surface?

When the dragon had eatern the seaweed, Sera said, Just lay there, soon enough you should feel ok. Until then, I will watch for you. said the blue dragoness as she say down on the shore and half slumbered, with one eye open.

OOC: Pass, Umm, unless you wanted Sirius to fight the "thing" and still be sick, I was wanting to get things moving again, but I don't really care too much.

OOC: Yeah, I was thinking I should pick it up soon anyway. lol I have an idea.

IC: Sirius fell into an uneasy sleep, unsure of what he would find or feel when he awoke. His dreams reflected his mood, and he saw giant, monstrous toads spewing dark shadows that blotted out the stars in the sky. No matter how hard he tried, he could not reach the toads, because he couldn't find them among the shadows.

Sirius finally came into wakefulness, and was immediately surprised. All traces of the sickness had diminished significantly. He only felt a little tired, and his stomach was just the least bit uncomfortable. Sera, I think I'm relieved of the dark illness. It has diminished dramatically, he said, realizing that he had forgotten to check if she was awake, yet.

Sera roared with delight as Sirius crached into the beast and quickened her pace until she caught up to the two who were struggling against each other. She wrapped herself around the creature's wings to stop it from getting away and began to tear madly at it with her teeth and claws.

OOC: Pass, sorry.

Sera, when she saw that Sirius had already attacked it, leapt into the fray. Her sharp claws and teeth tearing at the enemy. She latched onto the beast and began to try to tear one of the "razor arms" off of the monster. Her teeth sunk into the monster, but were repelled by some sort of metalic substance. She brokw off and began to circle her enemy, looking for an opening.

OOC: They aren't really tentacles, more like arms, kinds like the ugly thing on "300".

OOC: Oh, okay.

IC: Sirius dove in at the beast again as Sera swam away, having failed to detach one of the arms. The white wondered why the beast's thick skin was difficult to penetrate. He burned it again with starfire and then dove under it, slashing at an open spot. The skin was still tough, but not as tough, and his powerful talons sank through. Sirius lunged forward and dug his teeth into the beast, ripping and tearing like a wolf at its prey. He jerked back and swam out of range when he was cut along the ribs. His blood floated into the water in a cloud of red.

Sera continuedher fight, but unbeknown to her, a truly massive leviathin of the deep was awakening...

It felt something. It began to look about. It had been centuries since it had last moved, even longer since it had eaten. It was hungry, and what luck! Two dragons, a male, and very young, as well as a female, slightly older were on a rock not far away. It began to move, but ti could not, it was stuck. It let out a monsterous roar of anger and began to free itself....

OOC: OOO, scary!!

OOC: You can use the "it" also, I really don't care what it looks like, just as long as it is large and powerful, other than that, I don't really care.

IC:
Sera's eyes flashed open. She looked about, seemingly in a daze. She said, W- What happened? asked the dragoness as she weakly raised her head and looked about. She was in the middle of an ocean, on a rock, beside a white dragon, it was sprinkling rain and the sky was covered up by thick clouds. She heard a huge roar, and it all came back, the dark water, the three different fifhts, Sirius, everything. She raised her head a little more and asked, D- did you kill that dark water beast thing? when she looked and saw that he was bleeding, she said, Here, I think I might can heal that, well, if I can use my powers with ice, that it...

Sirius roared angrily when the beast sank down beneath the waves with Sera in its grip. He dove after it, and was about to plunge beneath the surface when one of the pointed legs shot out of the water, too fast to avoid. Sirius had a split second to see it coming at him, and then he roared in pain as it grazed his side. He flipped over in the air and crashed down on the rocks. The only thing he could feel other than the pain and anger was relief that it had not hit him full on.

Sirius clamped his wing over his side yet again. Sera's ice had broken off his original wound, and now there was a new one. Blood flowed freely from the large, cross-shaped collective wound on his side. The white roared in pain again, pulling his legs slowly under him.

OOC: Just so you know, that only happened because I thought it would make a cool scar, as well as adding more suspense.

OOC: You know what they say, chicks dig scars, Rema will be impressed, lol!

IC:
Sera was gasping for air, because, even though she could hold her breath longer, than probably any other dragon, she did not expect to be attacked, nor did she expect that her breath would have been squeezed out of her by he monsterous claw, but lucky for her, it was not long after that they came to a cave under the water, which oddly enough had a lot of air in it. It even had some plants, and animals. The monster hurled Sera onto the sandy ground anr roared, it seemed to be smiling at her, it was a dark, malicious smile. Sera gratefully gupled in as much air as possible and began to scramble for higher ground.
