Post Breaking Dawn (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)
Apparently, this book is meant to be disappointing by most fans. I am on to reading it now and I couldn't help myself but to check out reviews anyway.

SPOILERS!

~~~I always thought that Jacob would end up imprinting on Bella's baby if she had one. Don't see what's so bad about it, except it is pretty sick that he wanted to "get" with Bella who is the child's (Nessie's) mum. Other than that, what's so bad?
~~~With Bella even getting pregnent was meant to be a let down. Still, I don't see what's so bad about it other than it breaks the rules, but Bella maturing into an adult and stuff is something that SM had always planned.

~~~I heard some let downs about the graphic stuff in the book that turned many parents off letting their children read. Stuff like Bella's gory description when giving birth :-& I suppose there was no need for that...lol. The other thing was Bella drinking blood from a cup with a straw and she didn't feel sick? :?
~~~Many says this influences young girls having teenage pregnancies. So my question:-

How did you guys find the book? Do you think it does (question several lines above)

I know a lot of people hated it but I liked it. It ended the Saga well.

People are stupid who think that in EVERY vampire series they are all alike. Thats BS. In some they can have kids, in some they cant. In some they can eat human food, in some they cant. In some the sun burns them, in some it doesnt. GET OVER IT

I dont think it was that grafic, anyone else woulda made it a lot worse.

I'm happy Jacob found someone, anyone disgusted that he imprinted on a child needs to get a chill pill. He is NOT in love with yet. At this time he just loves her, wants to protect her and take care of her. Hello, QUIL?

I liked it, regardless of what people say.

I had heard a rumor about Nessie but I thought it was crazy and never come true so I was shocked too.

Yeah, its pretty stupid. But I did like it how Jacob imprinted on Ness and I knew it would happen ever since I read in Eclipse that he hadn't imprinted yet but still loved Bella. Obvious, I though.

And I don't think it does influence teenage pregnancies. She was a married woman anyway.

I got ENDLESS lulz from reviews of this book on dA.
Too true for words:
Quote:
Now I'm convinced Meyer is a genius who has written a fanfiction parody and labeled it as "fantasy romance" to lure people to read it.

I'm going to - somehow - get this book online so I can read it, because if the spoilers and the reviews made me laugh so hard I almost broke a rib, the real thing has to be HILARIOUS.

How can you name - the soon to be sparkling vampire - RENESMEE CARLIE CULLEN? Even Harry Potter picked better names, AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING XD

Oh, and you best friend who was in love with you falling for your infant daughter? PRICELESS.

One I really laughed at:

I'm gonna go puke now.

same person as above:
Quote:
People wonder why or how Twilight is popular to begin with - part of it is somewhat obvious, you have to admit.

For a girl looking through the eyes of the protagonist whose name is Mary Sue - I mean, Bella Swan, it's the perfect ideal life involving the perfectly perfect beautiful girl with the flawlessly flawless beautiful man (complete with *sparkles*!!) giving birth to superbly super beautiful babies; thus, it's a general setting for your typical "mysterious" romance. Girls in particular are suckered into this sort of thing.

I mean, I like to daydream from time to time thinking of Brad Pitt while unintentionally listening to Avril Le-HoweverYouSpellHerName-vgne's song "Girlfriend". Let me dream... Please?

There in lies the big problem with the book though - IT'S SOOOO ****** PERFECT THAT I REALLY REALLY DO. NOT. WANT. Among me are very many others who agree with this fact.

SPOILER---

Oh, and the "imprinting" with the dude and the baby? EW EW EW Pedophilia = NO THANK YOU. Stephanie Meyer, ***??? I'm sending Chris Hansen to your house!!

And Renesmee?

....Really? D:

lol...

People don't get the whole "imprinting" thing. Does NO ONE remember Quil? He imprinted on a 5 year old!

When the shape-shifters imprint on younger children they are NOT "i wanna marry you this second" in love with them!!!! At that point they do love them but almost in a big sibling way. They want to protect and make them happy. When they get older YES they'll love them but they arent IN LOVE now.

I personally liked the Renesmee Carlie. Its different. At least they didnt NAME her Nessie. >_>

Yes, Edward is perfect but the whole story has not been.
Don't judge a book by its cover.

I agree with the above
*hurries off to get Eclipse*

This is the part when Jacob tells Bella about Quil imprinting on Claire, the two-year-old. (pg. 175)

Jacob: Claire is two.
Bella: Quil... imprinted... with a two-year-old?
Jacob: It happens. Or so the stories say.
Bella: But she's a baby.
...
Jacob: You're making judgments, I can see it on your face.
Bella: Sorry, but it sounds really creepy.
Jacob: It's not like that; you've got it all wrong. I've seen what it's like, through his eyes. There's nothing romantic about it at all, not for Quil, not now. It's so hard to describe. It's not like love at first sight, really. It's more like... gravity moves. When you see her, suddenly it's not the earth holding you here anymore. She does. And nothing matters more than her. And you would do anything for her.... You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that's a protector, or a lover, or a friend, or a brother. Quil will be the best, kindest big brother any kid ever had. There isn't a toddler on the planet that will be more carefully looked after than that little girl will be. And then, when she's older and needs a friend, he'll be more understanding , trustworthy, and reliable than anyone she knows. And then, when she's grown up, they'll be as happy as Emily and Sam.
Bella: Doesn't Claire get a choice here?
Jacob: Of course. But why wouldn't she choose him, in the end? He'll be her perfect match. Like he was designed for her alone.
From Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer
I hope I didn't break any copyright laws... 8-[

I don't really have a problem with Jacob imprinting on Renesmee, more that, I don't like how much it tie Jacob's and Bella's futures together and I don't particularly care for that.

I didn't think the 'graphic' parts were that bad. It was mainly just blood going everywhere. You can find way worse things on TV or in movies.

I do wish that Stephenie Meyer had better considered just how young some of her fans are when writing the honeymoon and other similar scenes. I know of a large group of former 7th graders who are avid fans of the Twilight series.

As a whole, I honestly don't know whether I loved the book or I hated it. As always, it was extremely well written, however, I strongly disliked some of the unexpected plot twists. I think I still like Twilight best, then Eclipse, and then New Moon, but I'm not sure where to put Breaking Dawn...

Does anyone else think it should have been split into two books? The first one could have ended in Renesmee's birth. I thought that Nessie's birth was too climatic to be put in the middle of the book.

But still, it's still a stupid idea on the author's part. It seems like something that would happen in a bad fanfic, not the actual book. For the record, I've read PLENTY of various types of fanfiction, so I KNOW what kinda stuff you'd find in bad romance ones. This kinda thing isn't exactly unique... although it's not usual with babies... (still eww).

Yeah, since she took a vampire, disemboweled it, put a bunch of mushy crud in it, sewed it back up, sprinkled it with glitter, and still called it a vampire. Her version of "vampires" are vampires in name and name alone. She took everything great about the legend of vampires and took it away, putting in its place sissy traits and things you'd never find a vampire even think of.

Okay one thing everyone needs to get straight is EVERY author who writes about vampires changes them.
They are ALL different. Smeyer, Anne Rice, Laurell K. Hamilton, Bram Stoker, ect. They all have they're own little versions of vampires.

If you actually READ the books IMNC, you'd find they aren't as sissy as you think.

Post Breaking Dawn (spoilers!)
Alright so the conclusion to the Twilight Series left much to be desired in my opinion. First, a vampire kid, no offense SM but that's almost as stupid as Renesmee Carly (i pity the child). Then there's NO plot until Bella has her baby ,which is eating her (talk about an ungrateful kid). Which reminds me, does anyone remember how Bella wasn't a kid person? In the first 3 books she talks about how she doesn't want a kid and she doesn't even want to get married in the first place. Then in Breaking Dawn when her child is killing her she doesn't care. Very out of character. And I know Rosalie and Bella dealt with some of their issues in Eclispe but still it seems hard for me to believe that they became friends over night. Then Jacob, the only emotionally deep character in the whole book, goes and starts protecting the Cullens (all of whom he hates) and Sam is just like "ok, whatever" . Then he loses all feelings for Bella ( the chick he's been madly in love with for at least 2 books) and vise versa. Finally, SM majorly hints at a Jacob-Leah relationship for about 200 pages (which might have redeemed the story, for me at least) until he imprints on this half vampire infant. Jacob Black officially died at that moment and turned in to a whiney overly protective older brother. Almost immediately after the birth of her child, Bella's heart stops beating but of course the narrator of the story can't die in the middle of it. Predictably, Edward gives her CPR and then, abruptly turns her into a vampire. Bella experiences some discomfort but nothing like the horror of the newborns that SM spoke of in Eclipse. And, apparently due to her aversion to blood, Bella is totally immune to the blood lust that characterizes a vampire. Yeah, sure. Then to my utter confusion, Alice has a vision that the Volturi are coming (some action at least) to kill Renesmee. This whole new plot seems to come out of the blue. However, the Cullens, previously written as a kick butt, no nonsense family, just sit back and pretty much resign themselves to being completely and utterly destroyed. Still they go around trying to assemble an army of vampires to at least make themselves feel better. Alice and Jasper, the only ones who are still sane, run away and abandon their family. The vampire army seems pretty happy go lucky about defending this kid that they don't know against the Nazis of the vampire world. The Volturi come and as i brace myself for this big battle, nothing happens. Bella finds out her new vampire power, a shield which helps her protect the minds of those around as well as her own, and figures out how to use it after officially sucking at it before. So the Volturi just kinda stand there and everybody gives speeches. Then they just talk for 100 pgs. Then Alice and Jasper return with an adult half vampire and are like "he's not dangerous". ThE Volturi, this demonic fighting force, are like "fine ok we'll leave now". So everyone's all happy. Finally to put a cherry on top, Bella tells Charlie everything about vampires and the fact that she is one and he's totally fine with it. And at the very end we find that Charlie is falling for Sue Clearwater, Leah and Seth mom and widow of one of his best friends.
Although SM says this is her last Twilight book im worried. I sincerely hope that she doesn't continue the series with books about Jacob and Renesmee(the half-vampire that can have blood or human food but is still gorgeous, graceful, and charming) Oh and did i mention that Renesmee also has the vampire power to give others her thoughts and memories?
All in all, it was way to far fetched even for a Twilight book. I wishes SM would have stopped while she was ahead with Eclipse.

Post Re: Breaking Dawn (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)
There was always a plot to this story, one we all knew would happen.
Bell and Edward getting married.

I think the Jacob/Leah relationship would be possible had Jacob not imprinted. I think Leah was falling for Jacob, a reason why she hated the Cullens so much. She knew they had his loyalty always.

Bella put aside the thoughts of having a child because she knew once she was bit, she would never have them so she tried not to want one. (Wouldnt you?). But once she was offered a baby she couldn't refuse. She began to love her right away. I mean come on with her power they probably spoke to each other without even knowing it.

Everyone knew Bella would be bit eventually, and being bit was how all the other Cullen's were saved so it makes sense that happened to Bella too. Edward knew the baby would kill Bella when it was born so he was prepared with his venom.

The only reason Rose and Bella became friends overnight is because Rose is a selfish (insert bad word here) and wanted Bella's baby for her own. Rose has always wanted a baby and she knows she cant have one. But she also knew this baby would kill Bella and I think she was always hoping Bella would drop dead and she could have the baby.

Bella's miracle change is described as being such because she had been preparing herself for months. Every other vampire got changed without knowing what would happen, Bella did know.

The Cullen's don't give up, they just fight differently than we humans do. They knew they didn't stand a chance if the Volturi didn't see the truth and they weren't about to just hand over Renesmee to them without a fight. They were prepared to fight if need be but they also knew if they did have to they would fail.

Charlie is NOT okay with everything that happens, but he loves Bella enough to just be like, "What I don't know can't hurt me."

I think this was a good ending to Bella's story (Yes this is just the end to BELLA's story, there will be more books. At least one possibly more)
I'm excited to see what Smeyer will do next.

I agree that Rose did want a baby but i don't think that she wanted Bella to drop dead. I don't think she would have minded had Bella died and left her the baby, but I think Rose respects Bella and knows that Edward loves her. The major thing i have an issue with is planning on SM part. If she wanted Bella to have a kid she should have been foreshadowing it a little (ex. when Rosalie was telling Bella her story she cold have said something about the immortal children) instead of just randomly springing it on us. I was expecting this to be a more action driven book that characterizes SM's writing. Don't get me wrong, she's an awesome writer and i love most of her stuff. It just seemed to me that she ran out of most of her plot with eclipse except for 1) Bella getting married 2) Jacob and his recovering from heart ache and maybe faling for Leah or he and edward having a fight ( but i guess that was sorta eclipse) 3) Bella turning into a vampire
I was merely disappointed that there were so many contridictions from past books and i rly hope there are better things to come.
Im definately looking forward to Midnight Sun!

Explaining it beforehand wouldn't have worked though because no one knew it was possible.

Midnight Sun should be good, but I dont think I can learn any more about the Bella/Edward relationship. I'd rather read a book from Nessie or Jacobs point of view.

OMDG, IMNC, can you please tell me what author you like and consider, if not, a genius, maybe fabulous? I'll settle for you just mentioning a good author, or one of your liking! you're starting to sound like someone I know.

All this rubbish from you about SM ruining the vampire stereotype really surprises me. How many, as Valkie mentioned, varieties of vampire have been written? Countless ones; it will all depend on the imagination and creativity of the writer.

So what should I assume from your line of thought? That Terry Brooks, Margaret Weiss, Tracy Hickman, Orson Scott Card and many others are not good authors because their versions of elves, dwarves, etc, etc, ect are different from what is commonly known?
Come on, give me a break. I can't believe someone as smart as you would put down Stephanie Meyer as an author without even reading the series!

I'm still reading and I can't wait to finish! A thing called work, keeps getting in my way!

Oh, and Valkie, pls don't yell at me!!! :o

For vampire series? Rice, Stoker, and Ross. All classics. And Annie, I'm insulted by what you're insinuating. :wink:

Annie, as with most things, I have a line; a line of tolerance. I can accept that people have their own things about vampires, picking and choosing aspects from the old legends and contemporary ones stemming from more recent movies, such as Nosferatu. The second I heard they sparkled, that was WAAAY over the line. From there, you can't even SEE the line anymore. This, of course, was made worse by the fact that, from the aspects I've heard as with accounts I have read, a lot of the characters are Sues. I've read summaries, and at times I've gagged it seemed so clique.

Post Re: Breaking Dawn (CONTAINS SPOILERS!)
Well, I finally finished it (I didn't get it until a few days ago, and didn't want to read it all too quickly). I don't care what anyone else says, I fricking LOVED it!!! Best book I've ever read I reckon, I don't care if it's disgusting, cliched, predicatable, whatever, I still love it- those aren't always bad things. I find that Meyer has the all important writing skill that attaches you to the characters. I can't be bothered to read all the bad reviews by people who can't enjoy books for wanting to criticise technicalities, I read them for fun, not a sport.

And for people who complained about the "graphic" parts, well description is what makes a good book :lol: I, for one, wish more books were that... detailed rather than skirting around issues like sex or blood or pain (physical or mental), things that (almost, haha) everybody encounters in real life.

The thing about the vampires being different is stupid. Vampires don't even exist, who's to say what they should be like? It just shows imagination and a personal touch in how Stephenie Meyer has changed the typical stereotype. And I don't think you could really criticise until you've read the books.

Also, normally I would complain at a cliched happy ending, but because you become so attached to the characters, I was thrilled to read something happy for once.

Firetongue I am totally with the detailed thing sis :D 8) I wish they detailed more of Renesme's birth, just to make it more dramatic since Bella kinda DIES and she is the main MAIN character. She died, what's wrong with a blood? And basically all she wrote was "red streaked" which doesn't sound that bad. After reading the reviews I was kinda disappointed. I wanted more BLOOD.

I suppose you people think I'm really sick. :( I'm not, I'm a veagan so no one needs to even think about that.) Blood just makes everything more dramatic ok? Drama is GOOD beyond measure, one of the best things in this bloody world . . . *wink wink*

When blood isn't good is when the cause of the blood can't be fixed or something innocent is being slaughtered or if it's real life. No one wants to see real blood if they can avoid it.

Raving...raving...raving...raving... I know...

i was going through the transcripts of q&a sessions of breaking dawn from twilightlexiconblog.com and i found this one that answers your question:
Quote:
Q: Nicki wants to know, “Since Renesemee will live forever, does that mean Jacob will be immortal as well since the vampires are always going to be around?”

A: actually once the trigger of vampires being around is over, there’s a lot of fact questions coming up, just so you know, just so you can get some of these things straight. Um, Jacob can continue to be the same age that he is now as long as he turns into a werewolf every now and then which is really not very hard for him. So, luckily for them, they’re both set up for immortality, which is nice.

I really enjoyed it and i think its one of the best in the series and tied up most of the loose ends.

"you nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness Monster?"
has to be one of the best quotes in the series.
