Memories of Before the Slaughter

Gender: Guy Affiliation: Dragonriders Dragon: Avadius	Memories of Before the Slaughter Quasar, Eris, Galedrim, and Throat Ripper walked through the remains of the first threes old home. They all expected it to be bad but not this bad. The well was covered by vines. What was once a large auditorium was now a collapsed large pile of stone. All the houses were just now dust in the wind. The stone that was there was being overcome by vines. Eris and Galedrim walked through their old training area, it was covered in weeds. The old shake where the weapons were stored had collapsed. They both stared at the ruins in remembrance of their old home. It had been over a century since they or Quasar had steeped foot in here. I can't believe this, you two get over here now. Those dastards how could they have done this! Quasar hissed in their minds. Eris and Galedrim ran toward their dragon. They stared at what she was looking at. A pile off bones was stacked in the center of the city. It seemed instead of burying the villagers Galby and his forces just stacked up all of the dead bodies. Only Throat Ripper did not seem to care as much. Even though he wasn't like most urgals he still didn't mind staring at the dead that much. "I shouldn't be here. I do not feel sadness even though I should." muttered the urgal. Quasar flew over to him. She had never been attached to the urgal but she knew something was bothering him. What’s wrong? she asked. "I feel nothing. I know I should but I don't care that people have died in not been buried here." It’s because of your race. No offence but your race really only cares about killing. "It still doesn't mean we can't at least attempt to better our selves." Who are you and what have you done with the urgals. They both went back towered Eris and Galedrim. Both of them mourned their village. Quasar was also sad. This reminded her of Sceptar. She grieved his lose and wanted desperately to have him back. She remembered what they both promised eachother before Sceptar was slain by a combination of Galbotorix and Crimson. 'At least one of us shall live through this and see our race restored. And I will do anything I can to make sure if not me, that you live through this.' Sceptar, if I only would have been stronger then maybe... you would still be alive. Quasar said to herself keeping this and her current emotions away from her riders. Eris put his hand on his dragon's side. "What is done is done; at least we can still bury the bones." "Your right. Come this could take awhile. To bad Equinox isn't here. I wonder if he is ok." replied Galedrim "Hopefully. Crimson better not have killed him." said Eris. He and Galedrim went to where the shovels would have been, but they were all rusty. Galedrim grabbed three and used magic to take the rust away then handed one to Eris and Throat Ripper. "Well let's get started." said Galedrim. They all begun to dig hole to bury the bones. Throat Ripper looked at them. And what an odd group it was. She had been hired to find an urgal named Throat Ripper. Reb didn't particullarly like this part of the job. But he was wanted for a murder and her job as a bounty hunter was to take him to those who wanted him. She was being a paid a hefty sum, but she wouldn't take the money until she got to know him better. So Reb took a deep breath and walked into the clearing, arms crossed over her chest. " Throat Ripper?" She called.

"Who are you, what do you want with me." snarled Throat Ripper. Throat Ripper you need to learn not to be so rude to strangers. Any way I don't know her but Equinox told me about her. She is a Shade named Reb but what she wants with us I don't know.replied Quasar. "And how would you know that. I don't trust that green dragon, after all he is Crimson's dragon." "Being a rider doesn't mean you have to like your dragon Throat Ripper. Some times I can't stand Quasar." said Eris Thanks little one. replied Quasar sarcastic she then turned to Red What do you want? I was sent here to collect Throat Ripper, keeping him alive mind you, but I have someone who is willing to pay a whole lot to have him turned in." Reb said, not trying to hide the fact she was powerful. She wanted them to think twice before attacking her, and Star Gazer was a hundred or so feet in the air for backup.

Quasar glared at both of them she didn't know why Reb wanted Throat Ripper. I may not like him that much, but there is know way I am turning him into the likes of you. said Quasar making her sorrow into raw anger. She didn't know why she was angry but it felt good. Galedrim glared at his dragon. Out of any of them he was the only one who wouldn't go into a fight head first. "Before any of these three do anything stupid tell me what you want with Throat Ripper." Quasar flew into the air slightly above her two riders. If she tries to attack it may be better if you two were to conjoin. said Quasar. "Conjoin." said Eris and Galedrim and they melted back into one being. A sword in both hands and they had two heads. One of a human one of an elf. "Throat Ripper glared at Reb and grabbed his axe.”I don't know what you want with me but I'm not going in that easily. I have had too many people wanting to kill me for that fact that I am an urgal." he growled. Galedrim glared at all of them. They weren't stupid they all knew she was a powerful enemy but he wasn’t sure with the fact of Throat Ripper being an urgal and Eris' recklessness that he wouldn't separate and they would both attack Reb.Listen both of you do not attack her. She drew her blade, a high-pitched ringing sound piercing the air around her. "She's not going down easily either." Eriel told them, her eyes slowly turning dark green. She didn't particularly hate urgals, but she hated any who would threaten her girlfriend. 'I wonder who paid you to turn this poor being in.' I wonder what they could be talking about he thought. He crept closer to hear the coversation. He heard some words but he couldn't quite make them out they were something like and...... won't go down......... what won't go down? he thought. He stood up and slowly drew his blade, readyed his shield, and walked out to the group. I might need to use my teleportion ability soon he thought. " I didn't really intent to take him in unless I had solid proof he was wholy evil. I'm not like what they expect, but now that they are battle hungry I'm not sure I think them innocent, although I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt." Reb answered through their connection. " I want only to see what kind of being I have been sent to retrieve, and if he is evil retrieve him I will, and not a single one of you could stop me." Reb said shaking her head. "GOD you could have made them a little less blood hungry." Reb said to no one but GOD in particular. She wasn't angry. "Star Gazer light me up!" Reb called, and a stream of black fire slammed into Reb's upturned hand and wound it's way around her body as the biggest thing and then it transformed into a tiger, a fierce tiger that jumped to the ground infront of the flaming Reb.

"So you’re going to arrest him for the sake of being an urgal! I don't like him much my self but I don't hate him for being an urgal alone." Quasar do not attack but be prepared to defend against the dragon that turned into a tiger. Eris and Throat Ripper, only if we get attacked gor for the elf I will go for Reb. Only attack if all is ness Cary. The Varden wouldn't like us killing or getting killed for know apparent reason. Galedrim said. "What so we are just trying to follow the policy of appeasement." demanded Throat Ripper. "For now, I know there not with Glabatorix which means they can't be with Crimson. And all three of them seem too powerful to have been put under mind control." the elf replied. "Fine then I wait. What about the dragon can we be sure it won't attack?" In Throat Rippers mind he said That dragon may be more powerful but I doubt it faster... if only Equinox were here then it would be two dragons against one. While the other three were arguing Quasar looked at the people ready to attack them I'm sorry that it may seem like my companions want to kill you but they are just morning. Eris and Galedrim and came back here and found everyone one slaughtered. We lived here before the fall of the riders. We don't know what you want with us but at least give us the chance to bury the dead. Quasar heard someone shout from the oppisit direction. She whipped her head around. She saw a person come out of the forest. Who are you if you wan't to kill Throat Ripper like these fools he is n urgal you won't any chance we won't surrener any of us! she roared. IC:Eriel smiled. 'Alright then, I'll play nice as well.' She laughed through their connection and sheathed her blade, taking her bow instead. 'This, is my definition of nice.' Eriel said to Reb, still smiling. 'I may be more than a master with the bow but it wouldn't be much of a fair fight with the kull around.' Eriel looked at Quasar, a flash of anger passed over her for a second. "Fools eh?" She whispered to Reb. "They're underestimating us..." She observed and fired an arrow into the space within Throat Ripper's armpits, the arrow head narrowly missing his shoulder. In a flash Eriel notched her bow again. "Underestimating us would be a terrible mistake..." Fire lit her whole body once more and the tiger moved with her as if they were one. " I do tend to take offence when called a fool. Although that remark could be returned." Reb sneered and then dropped into a battle crouch, knowing that Cobalt was coming up behind her. " Cobalt, Shedo, Leth you get your butts back into the trees." She said under her breath.

"What do you want with Throat Ripper anyway." He demanded taking in energy from his surrondings. He didn't like killing small animals and plants so he took the energy from the things that could handle it. He knew they were outnumbered and out strengthed but they had know chance to escape, and there was know way to contact the Varden and for them to get here in time. Quasar flew in the air ready to fight Star Gazer. She glared at the purple dragon. Quasar did not want to, but she was prepaired to fight. Below her Eris and Throat Ripper readed their weapons. "Are you really so ignorant! We don't want to fight you but we will if we have to!" shouted Throat Ripper. "Throat Ripper, right now is not the best time to insult them. I have know wish to fight eather but if we have to I will." "What about Crimson, if we die who else is there to kill him. Besides I want my own chance for vengence against him." "There is always Equinox." "Do you really think I trust him." "I don't have time to argue just keep focused and remember what Galedrim and I taught you. "Don't say I didn't warn you..." Eriel projected her thoughts at him. She then sank into a stance she used often in conjunction with the bow, raising her weapon up to eye level then drew the arrow back. She was about to release the arrow when she felt a wave of magic, faint but detectable nonetheless, expanding. "Frightened?" She asked him mockingly. Eriel drew the arrow beyond her her cheek, causing the wood to bend further than they have for a long time. Wordlessly a two green circles formed around her bow, runes of power forming within and without the spaces, the very light they gave out making the other objects seem like shadows and their shadows nothingness. Eriel then discharged a bolt of electricity, causing it to accumulate at the arrowhead, the energy given out causing her cloak and the lower portion of her robe to fly. She looked more dangerous than before for she had never used magic with her bow to such a degree. It was taxing but she reckoned she could hold the spell for a few hours. Learning their body language well. They did not hide what they were feeling well, but Reb made sure and kept her face impassive, a new skill taught to her by Nilliki. Reb looked to Eriel and then sighed. "Star Gazer land." Reb whispered barely loud enough for Eriel to hear, let alone anyone else. But sure enough, within a few seconds there came a horrendous crash behind Reb, and she knew Star Gazer had landed.

She looked down at here riders and Throat Ripper. She landed next to them not keeping an eye off the others. I wonder why she landed? asked Quasar. "I don't know, but it is probably not a good thing." replied Galedrim. "We could retreat." suggested Throat Ripper. "Why? "Since you're not talking, am I to assume that you three are criminals and that I have the right to shoot?" Eriel asked, a flicker of humor shone in her eyes. "Do I?"
