Emrhyst roared as an arrow pierced her wing. Great, we're high up in the air, with no cover except down there. Caught between the hammer and the anvil. She looked around for the archers.

Re: Into the North Faefnir found them. Spirits of the fallen Riders were shooting arrows at them. Somehow, they were still able to hurt. Faefnir knew there wasn't any escape. Star, Eriel, we must get inside. We can do nothing about them until we find the source of power. Star, enter through the platform that Emrhyst was standing on. Be wary, he will be waiting for us. I'm still trying to figure out what he's trying to do, so try to keep your distance from him.
Faefnir crouched down and awaited for their arrival. He licked his chops as he thought about how delicious they were going to be. He was going to be strong again. Re: Into the North Star Gazer nodded and dove to where Faefnir indicated, making sure to keep everything in view. Her night vision on, she scanned the area, awaiting doom. Her thoughts then flew to her eggs, lying there in the clearing with naught but the spell keeping them from harm, but Star Gazer felt reassurance as she remembered the exact spell.
" Give me light over darkness, give me love over hate, give me strength over weakness give me courage over cowardice give me light over darkness that I may see." Star Gazer repeated and the spell blazed bright around herself and her friend. |

"He probably awaits us at the end of the tunnel, where we cannot move or escape, and can only go single file." Eriel said loud enough for the sound to reach the other side of the tunnel and bounce back, which came almost twenty seconds later. "This is a long tunnel..." She said quietly.

Re: Into the North Faefnir reached out with his/Star's mind to sense whatever was close. He could see there was only one way to go, so there wasn't any chance of escape except back through the turret and back to the spirits of all those Riders the creature apparently absorbed and controlled. With that thought, Faefnir suddenly had an idea of what he (OOC: get it? he? lol) was doing. I think I know what he's trying to do, Star. He wants to absorb us. I understand now. He wants to take us in as his own so he can be strong. Remember outside all those Riders? Where were their dragons? They are dead, because they knew that if they lived, he will absorb them and nothing in the world can stop him. Three dragons; that what he needs. A body, a mind, and a heart. Then he can operate autonomous and destroy us all. All he needs to do is touch either of you and you might as well say good-bye unless we destroy his source, whatever is keeping him alive. He refocused on finding it. He's at the end of the hall to the left. Can you feel him as well, Star? Proceed slowly and with caution. We'll be lucky if one of us isn't absorbed before the night is out.
Faefnir could hear them in the hallway. He smiled, knowing in a matter of seconds, they were going to be all his. Thirdly I am basically the only one who can touch him, curse my dark dragon backgrounds, and curse who ever was in my past that was a dark dragon and who ever thought it funny to curse their decendant, may they rot. Eriel is currently working on another to place above yours, and I feel like blessing your dark dragon backgrounds now Star. Emrhyst said the last part softly, not wanting to anger her friend. Eriel sighed. "Such a revolting aura and train of thoughts, I'm quite sure both of us here can sense him." Eriel frowned. "Garjzla. Brisingr. Adurna. Deloi." She said softly and watched happily as a dim glow started forming around the three of them. "This should help a little."

Re: Into the North Eriel took very deep breaths in in attempt to calm herself. The almost lack of sound then a sudden Clang From one of the dragon's claws was disturbing, and ever she sensed the creature coming closer to them. Eriel slowly reach down and hugged the base of Emrhyst's neck. Her dragon looked back and smiled then continued, only her eyes moving, the gem on her head sparkled brightly, as if the darkness of the tunnel had unleashed a fire within it.

Re: Into the North Star Gazer looked around warily, becoming more fearful by the second. " Fearful?" She questioned of herself and thn shook off the feeling. She never felt fear. Expecially not now when she was needed to be strong for her friends. She held her head back and glared into the darkness, her golden gem telling her exactly where he was, even though the gem was now the color of mud, she was still linked to him. If he realized that, who knew what could be done to her.

Re: Into the North Emrhyst turned and snarled she flicked her tail up his nose then dragged Star Gazer along the passage just as he lunged at them. Eriel glared and took aim, a silvery light covered her arrow tip. She aimed and let loose, attempting to hit the gem in the center. Emrhyst growled and raked her claws down Feafnir's side, leaving rows of blood. As he got closer to them, Eriel released her first ward. "Losna." She said softly and watch as a dim green aura emerged from the glow around them.

Re: Into the North Faefnir growled as the claw from the green dragoness raked his side. It could have been his opportunity to absorb her. He was hindered somewhat by the ward that had been placed before him. He quickly sent out a burst of energy that broke the ward into nothing. He proceeded forward slowly, enjoying his victory.

Re: Into the North Faefnir panicked a little bit as he felt himself being pulled out of Star's head. Star gazer! Nooooooo! But there was nothing he could do. He immediately found himself in Emrhyst's mind, which was a lot more open and quieter than Star's. He ran around her mind, trying desperately to gain control of himself but couldn't. No no no no no! Re: Into the North " No Faefnir. You keep Emhyrst and Eriel safe. My rider is far from here and her connection with Zantya is strong. If I don't make it out, she will live on. Be still and quit trying to give my friend a headache." Star Gazer said as the beast attacked her. She felt the flesh along her back leg, tearing and blood pouring to the ground. She snarled and sank her teeth into it's neck. She growled and slammed her tail spike into his head. She threw him off of her and stood panting, and glaring at him. Then they locked in battle again, the sounds menacing as they rang out through the darkness. Star's cry of pain as her wing was ripped open. A devastating blow for a dragon that lived in the air. Breathed and lived for flying. Her whole heart and soul belonged in the air. She snarled with new menace and slashed the other dragon across the eyes.

Faefnir continued to fight against the separation between him and his mate. When he didn't have the strength to fight any more, he simply gave up and stopped fighting it. OK Emrhyst. Re: Into the North Star Gazer roared as she took more assaults to her person, but not letting down her guard, making sure nothing could get past her mental barriers, expecially not Faefnir(the good one).
She roared loudly as he slashed her other wing. She used her best defense and swung her tail wide, catching him in the side. It dug in deep and came out with a spray of blood. She swung it again and this time caught him in the underbelly. He caught her unaware then and tackled her to the ground, scratching at her face, and effectively trying to rip her tail spike off, trying to render her deffensless. |

Eriel looked back and used up most of her energy to placed a powerful ward around her. She swayed slightly then grabbed onto one of Emrhyst's neck spikes. Eriel stiffened as her wards absorbed damage. Emrhyst grunted and pressed forwards, setting her mind on reaching the beast's power source.

Re: Into the North Star Gazer roared and then whirled as he latched onto her sensitive tail and bit her tail spike in half, effectively cutting off one of her best defenses. She snarled and lunged for his throat. She latched on but not very long. He shook her off and then snarled and shook his head, blood splattering the ground. She lunged and grabbed onto his snout with her jaws, closing off his windpipes. He began to weeze and shook her off easily and threw his head to the side as he swept her feet out from under her. She snarled but he latched onto her throat before she could rise.
OOC: Sorry for the gm. but it's a fight and it wouldn't be very intersting if he didn't fight back. |

Faefnir smiled widely as he broke the purple dragoness' tail spike. In her weakened state, he walked up to he and clamped his jaws around her neck. He focused all his energy on her. Faefnir roared as he felt his mental connection with Star gazer start to wither and disippate. Star!! The pain was almost maddening. Quickly Emrhyst, turn into this room. In the room, they were met by a huge, rather ordinary looking stone slab. It glowed green and yellow, making it look like a huge pile of waste. Quickly, Emrhyst. You need to destroy it. And hurry! She lunged for him, grabbing onto his neck, and holding her teeth together and refusing to let go.

Re: Into the North Emrhyst growled in pain as she felt Star being absorbed. The pain gradually transfered to Eriel. They looked at the stone then heard Star Gazer roar in pain. Emrhyst roared with her. I can't stand this! She groaned. Eriel grit her teeth then drew her sword. "Adurna, Brisingr..." Evarinya started glowing, a green flame surrounded by water surrouded the blade. Emrhyst roared and arched her neck, a deeep rumble came from her bosom. As Eriel brought her sword down and Emrhyst released a ball of fire, the rock was cleaved asunder, but Emrhyst still felt Star being drained, and the beast seemed more powerful now.

Re: Into the North Faefnir knew this was his chance. With the stone gone, the beast's power no longer had a source, and this could make it easy for him to get into his own mind and defeat it. Thank you, Emrhyst. I'll take it from here. Faefnir leaped into the "air" and extended his thought into his own body. He was pulled out by the thought and he quickly found himself in his own mind again.
Faefnir roared as he felt the original Faefnir intruded. He let go of Star gazer and held his head in pain. Then, in a foul tongue nobody could understand, he said, "Get out!" He retreated into a corner and tried to fight off Faefnir from his mind. But without the stone, he couldn't last forever. Faefnir managed to gain control of the speech center of his brain. For that brief moment of time, he shouted in the dragon language, "Now Star! Kill it! Kill the body! I'll take care of him in here!" Re: Into the North Life felt sweet, but she was panting hard, and she was still bleeding. But she was alive. She lived against a beast that could have killed even Faefnir. She didn't feel triumph at the death, but she felt triumph in knowing it wouldn't harm her family any longer. She smiled and tried to calm her breathing, puffs is all she could manage as she plopped down on the floor, trying to heal herself. Not being very adept at it, but managing as Faefnir was returned to his former self.

She said and watching in satisfaction and she got his blood flowing again then healed all his wounds as a short "Heill." Emrhyst looked at Feafnir. Yep, he's back to normal, now, stand great dragon... She roared out at him. Eriel walked over to Star and placed her palm over her tail spike, trying to speed up regeneration in that area so that the bone would grow back.

Re: Into the North While Eriel healed his wounds, Faefnir took complete control of his body. He began feeling his wounds heal and blood rushing through him. Then sighed when he was completely healed. As he stood, the final sign of the creature's possession melted away: the sickly green scales that were rotting with decay returned to their natural golden color. Faefnir rumbled in his chest, only feeling relief at being back in his own body. Then he suddenly remembered. Eriel, Star. The eggs! They are still in the cold up above. We better make sure they are alright.

Eriel looked at the sighed before with awe. Not only were three dragons, of different origins and ages sharing a group hug, but more splendor was held for the gems on her dragon's head, and those on her friend's chests which were glowing so brightly it wasn't even a glow anymore. It was a beam of light that illuminated the entire chamber, lighting up the darkest corners of the room. Re: Into the North Sorry. Faefnir is a wild dragon, and he enjoys the independence. And besides, Faefnir is far too powerful for a Rider to posess. It could make the Rider corrupt. And, last time I checked, a corrupt Rider is not a good thing.
