Skills: Stance and Swordfighting - Nilarek, having learned from the memories of Keralin has adopted his fighting styles and found them extremely useful. He can sense where all swords are around him when he is fighting.

Dark magic - Nilarek learned from Keralin's memories the use and price of all Dark magic. He is able to bend the magic to his own will and pay the price in a different manner. Dark magic is also more potent than regular magic making it much more powerful. This ability has become almost useless to Nilarek now since he possesses Derek now.

Reconstruction - Being a shade, nothing but a stab through the heart can kill him. If he does get fatally injured in any other manner he will dissipate and reconstruct himself in the place of his choosing.

Shadow energy - This is the reason that Nilarek is so powerful, the fact that he has within himself a portal to the realm of Shadows which his spirits come from. This is an unlimited energy source, however the gateway within him is so small that the power gained is little more than a normal shade. It goes give him extraordinary abilities though, such as control over the shadows and an ability to change himself. Keralin's gateway into the Realm of Shadows is massive, which is why Nilarek seeks to inhabit his body.
Nilarek had now gained Derek's body, which is able to hold a much larger portal within him and grants Nilarek powers beyond even the most powerful shade.

Concentration - A new ability granted by Derek, allowing Nilarek to cast certain low-energy spells without words. It also allows him to cast a few spells from the Shadow Realm without words as well.

Character Personality: Nilarek harbours nothing but hatred for any being that gets in the way of his goal. To those that might help him, though, he will befriend until they are of no more use to him. Then, if he has time to, he will end their life. He holds a personal grudge against Keralin for not being complete wth him and considers any who are friends with him as sworn enemies. The only time he shows kindness in the slightest degree is when it benefits him or his own goals. Nilarek had learned to act like a human early so that he could hide in plain sight and ambush whatever was needed. He is not loyal to any being either than himself and holds no sympathy to anyone, excepting himself. He is torn, however, between wanting to kill Keralin and bondng with him once again as he cannot regain the power he once had without Keralin's body. He has no fear of darkness or the light as he knows what his place will be if he dies, although he prefers working in the darkness rather than the light. Even though he has only a fraction of his power he knows that it is beyond most other shades and uses that to his advantage. If you are not in any way connected to Keralin or his associates you have nothing to fear from Nilarek as he would walk calmly by you. However, if you say anything that could indicate that you dislike or disapprove of anything Nilarek does then he will not hesitate to kill.

Character History: Nilarek was created when Meridel separated the evil energy from Keralin, discarding the evil energy to the forgotten regions of the world. It took many years but it was there that Nilarek formed his own conscience and spirit making him a shade. He gained the memories of Keralin when he was supported by the evil energies and on the verge of destroying an entire civilisation. Nilarek craved the power that was once his, the power that made him great, the power that made him feared. The problem arose though that he couldn't do anything in this form and that he needed another, so he looked for another body. Luckily someone was obliging, a sorcerer named Cain was summoning spirits trying to ressurect his dead mother. Nilarek easily overpowered the young sorcerer taking his body and changing it to suit himself. Nilarek discovered that some of his power returned after taking a host body, although it was only a fraction of what he had, it was still a great deal of power. It also gave Nilarek the knowledge of the dark arts that Keralin used when they were as one. Nilarek searched the land, asking about Keralin quietly. It was good for Nilarek that Keralin had done many things that changed the entire land which meant Nilarek knew exactly where to go. He killed anyone he met or talked to, making sure that nobody else could follow Keralin and interfere before he got there. It took him nearly fifty years to scour the land figuring out fact from fiction as many people didn't want to talk about Keralin since rumors of anyone who knew Keralin were dying. Nilarek took joy from the fact, knowing that he was feared.

Nilarek learned that Keralin had made his way across the great sea, to a land called Alagaesia. That night Nilarek started his journey across the sea, slowly mustering his hatred and power for a battle between him and Keralin. He could almost feel Keralin getting closer to him and his goal coming to fruition.

As Nilarek encountered Keralin and his allies, Nilarek has been slowly losing power to them. Each time they collided Nilarek has lost a small amount of dark energies. The most crippling blow though was when Aeraldi and Phalynx attacked him simultaneously, making him lose more than half his power.

After that, when he forced the portals to the shadow Realm to open into the world and lost, he was almost as weak as a strong elf. He went seeking a new host, and found one in Derek, who was capable of much more than Cain was.
Now, Nilarek is stronger than he was before he corrupted Cain.
The story of Nilarek and Derek

Weapons: Nilarek stole a sword from one of Keralin's smithing teachers. The sword is eternally sharp, one and a half meters in length, slightly curved and has an inscription on the side. "There is no afterlife." The handle is in the shape of a skeleton being impaled by the blade. This sword is now destroyed.

Now, Nilarek uses a sword he stole from the town he found Derek in. He used the Shadow magic to create a hilt, which matches his previous one. The inscription on the sword now reads "Shadow is infinite."

Likes: - The suffering of other beings, gaining power and those who cause the suffering.

Dislikes: - Other beings, having such limited power and those who parade about being on the side of 'Good'. Keralin.

Character's Physical Description: The body Nilarek now resides in is nearly as tall as Keralin. He is 1.68 meters tall, extremely thin, has hair darker than the night and he wears dark crimson clothing with a black cloak which has a hood on it.

EDIT - Added skill, Shadow Energy. Whilst he already had this ability I couldn't find the right words to explain it. I believe now I have.
