Kane Hinote Karite - King of the Reapers!
Name: - Kane Hinote Karite
Age:- Unknown (appears late 30's early 40's)
Gender: - Male
Skills: 1)Kane can control the 7 Reapric Seals of Hell, Heaven, Earth, Void, Reapric, Chaos, and Death. A Seal's power is dependent upon the number of rings on the seal. More rings means more power, and more energy needed. While any Seal can do the same things as another Seal, they are cateorgized based on what they are best at. -Hell Seals generally focuses on the fire element, destruction, and force, typically being used to start fires, create fireballs, or other fire based attacks. -Heaven Seals focus on the air element, healing, and peace, typically being used to call up gale force winds, heal wounds, or calm ones mind. -Earth Seals tend to focus on the earth and water elements, barriers, and stability, generally used for making fortifications and the like. -Void Seals would be the "Other" or "Miscellaneous" category for Seals. They are generally used for energy based barriers, mental wards and attacks, summoning, and other things that do not fall under the other Seal's general classifications. -Reapric Seals are typically used for long-distance communications and storage, as they can be used to open an in-between space where one can store things while traveling if that doesn't fit in his bag. They are also used to access a Reaper's True Form (explained below) -Chaos Seals are every other Seal rolled into one, but with a twist. It can do the job other any other Seal with twice the power at the same cost, but the result may not be what you wanted. It is named Chaos Seal due to the fact that it is highly unpredictable. When used it may do what you want and nothing more, or it may kill you, or it may split the world in half, or it may create a new species of animal. This is the risk of using the Chaos Seal. -Death Seals are almost as dangerous as Chaos Seals due to their power. They control time, dead spirits, and even death itself if used at a high enough level. They can be used to stop time, raise an undead army, and then kill anyone that stands in your way. The cost for using one how ever is 5 years off of your own life span for each ring.
Seals are generally activated by saying the category name and then the seal's name. (Hell Seal: Hell Fire Cannon). They can be said with an incantation, which boosts the seal's power but leaves the caster open to attack. (Rise from the depths. Burn all creation to cinder. Hell Seal: Hell Fire Cannon). Seals can also be said mentally, but this takes a years of practice and work to use even the most basic of Seals.
2) Teleportation: Kane, like most Reapers, has the ability to move himself and anything he is touching (nothing bigger than a med-sized dragon) instantly, from one place to another. The farther away the place is, the more energy it takes.
3) True Form: An ability only those of the Royal Bloodline (special allowances made for a bonded pair who can take a Reaper form, or someone adopted into the Royal family.) that allows them to access their full potential and power as Reapers. Their appearances vary reaper to reaper, as does the total power they have access to. When in this form a Reaper is at his or her most balanced, able to use any Seal with greater efficiency than normal, and even use multiple Seals at once. While in this form, all Seals used will be more powerful than normal and cost the same. 3a) Demon Form: This form concentrates on the destructive side of all Seals. Any Seal used to kill or harm will be stronger than normal but cost the same. 3b) Angel Form: This form concentrates of the healing side of all Seals. Any Seal used to heal or protect will be stronger than normal but cost the same.
4) King's Cross: A technique that can only be used by the rightfully crowned King of Dedarath. When used, all Reapers within a 100 yard radius loose the ability to cast Seals for a short time (5 posts), and their power is temporarily given to the King. The draw back is that after the ability fades, the King looses his own ability to cast Seals for a full day. Although it has never been tested on mages, dragons, elves, or any other magical being, it is reasonable to suspect that it can be used it much the same why. (note: It can be used on other magical beings. Those effected can't tap their energy, similar to being poisoned, and the King will draw energy from them like a leech)
Race: - Reaper
Hair: - Grey Silver. Short in the front, long in the back, shoulder length.
Eyes: - Deep golden yellow, friendly.
Home Village: - Irestol, Capitol of the land of Dedarath.
Parents: - Tenrai and Janessa Hinote Karite, both long dead.
Siblings: - Gres Dorndo, adopted during birth. Alive.
Character Personality: Kind to everyone and fiercely loyal to his friends. Quick to anger but slow to show it and ever quicker to calm, if you realize he is angry then it would be best to turn tail and run because you have crossed a very wide line, and the quickest way to anger him is to stab him in the back or (or course) harm his family. He doesn't like to fight, at least not for long. He prefers to end it quickly to save on collateral damages, but would prefer to avoid fighting all together. Though, don't expect him to hold back for any reason, even if you are his friend. If you have pushed him to fighting then you had best be willing to go the whole way. Unless, it is nothing more than a friendly brawl, then he has no problem with it, even less of one if he's drunk. He also enjoys his fair share of drinking, almost always haveing some kind of flask or canteen on him so he can take a drink where ever and when ever he pleases. He doesn't mind working to earn a living, assuming he wasn't locked up in prison, unlike his sons who are generally lazy. He also would prefer to keep to himself. He doesn't mind people, but they tend to be overly loud or rowdy when they don't need to be. This does not include his family and friends though. He enjoys being with them at any time, even if they aren't doing anything but sitting around and talking. Unless of course, he is drunk. Then he loves to be in a crowd, making as much noise as possible, and preferably the center of attention.
Character History: Kane is not a native to Alagaesia, but of Dedarath which borders Alagaesia to the south, behind the Beor Mountains. He was King of the land for many years along side his wife, Queen Reana Hinote Karite, and thier reign was one of peace and prosperity. Kane had two sons and one daughter, Rathon, Kale, and Jessa Hinote Karite, as well as one adopted brother, Dres Nuex Dorndo. Dres and Kane were nearly equal in power, and had Kane not been of royal blood, it is likely that Dres would have taken the throne instead. As it was, Kane took the throne and Dres was appointed as his Royal Guard. The law of the land required that the King and Queen be the most powerful two Reapers, this was so rebellions were less likely the arise, so Gres's power was reduced and limited.
For many years Kane ruled without even the slightest hiccup of a problem. There was no poverty, war, or famine. That is, until Gres sought his revenge. From the beginning Gres thought that he should have had the throne, blood or not, and he didn't think it was right that it had been taken from him and him placed as a 'mere guard'. To add to his feeling of injustice, he despised the fact that the King had had his power nearly cut in half, even if it was the law. So, after years of planning, scheming, blackmailing, and other shady businesses, Gres started the first civil war in the history of Dedarath: The Red Moon War.
At first, Kane didn't see it as a problem. He thought that the loyalty of his subjects would have come to the hate of the rebels, but he was wrong. Kane had not realized who was really behind the attacks until nearly 50 years into the conflict, when Gres suddenly went missing one night, and appeared in the courtyard of the Karite Castle the following morning with several hundred fully armed rebel Reapers known as the Reapers of Fate. While the King was the strongest in his land, he could be overwhelmed by sheer numbers. So, rather than stay and fight and die, he fled with his family. At the time, Jessa, his daughter, was away in the mountain city of Glan'nari for special training, though he wasn't sure if that was a blessing or a curse.
He took his family, wife and two sons, and fled from the center of Dedarath in the capitol city of Irestol, west, toward Alageasia. He knew Gres would not dare follow him threw the border, and he hoped to make a new life for his family there, but he never got the chance. Due to Alageasia residing in a different realm from Dedarath, the two lands separated by a magical border that predates both lands, he had never thought to have it mapped or even scouted, so his family were the first Reapers to set foot in Alagaesia, and it would be their undoing.
Without knowing better, the first place the travel-weary family trekked to was the Hadarac Desert. Along the way they were attacked by all different kinds of people and animals, seemingly for no reason at all. Then, about half way threw the vast desert, Shruikan came for them. Some how, Galbatorix had learned of their arrival in Alageasia, and he did not want another King to rival his throne, so he sent his own dragon to kill them, and kill them he did. At nearly the same time as Shruikan's arrival, slavers ambushed the Karite family, stealing away Rathon. Reana managed to hide Kale, their youngest son, in a small hollow between two rocks, away from the slaughter. Normally, Shruikan would have been no match for the King and Queen of Dedarath, but they were both very tired from their travels, and were soon killed by the dragon.
At least, that's what they thought. After a day and a half, Kane rose from the ground, his wounded still bleeding rather badly, but he was very much alive. His wife however, did not fare so well. When he looked for his sons, he could not find them, but he knew they were both alive. He was torn then, between staying and hunting for his sons or returning to Dedarath to put an end to the war. He decided to return to his home land, to cleanse it of the great evil that had come to power, to give his children a safe place to return to.
That, however, did not happen. Almost as soon as he stepped into the borders, the tired King was arrested by his own men and proclaimed a traitor to the Crown. Confused by this, he told that that he could not betray himself, which was when he was told that he was no longer the King, but that Gres, his adopted brother, now ruled. Kane was thrown into the royal prison directly under the castle, the most secure and unforgiving dungeon there was, saved for only the most powerful and vile criminals. And there he is now, waiting for death to take him, wondering if he will ever see the light of day or the faces of his children alive again. (his story will be built upon once he emerges in the RP "Dedarath")
Weapons: Karite Family Katana: Standard katana length, the hilt of his weapon is pitch black, as is it's wrap and sheath. The cross guard is oval shaped and bears his family crest, without the names. Along the blade are several seals and runes that are invisible until activated. Most are to increase the metal's strength and durability and sharpness, but a few do things such as ignite the blade or allow him to throw a blade sharp wave of energy from it known as "Razors Edge". This weapons will burn anyone not of Karite blood that touches it.
Karite Family Scythe: This double edged, double headed scythe, has a blade at either end of the staff that face opposite directions of one another. Etched into the blade on both sides is the Karite family crest, which stands out black against the silver of the blades. This weapons also has runes for strengthening and sharpness as well as ones for ignition and "Razors Edge". This weapons will burn anyone not of Karite blood that touches it.
Likes: - Food. Fighting in good humor. Drinking. Sleeping. Drinking.
Dislikes: - Work related things. Senseless violence. Cruelty.
Weakness / Fear: - Loosing his children. He lost them once, to do so again would destroy him.
Animal Companions: - None
Character's Physical Description: At 6 foot 11 inches and larger than average build, he tends to be quite intimidating. He favors rather plain cloths for a king: a white short sleeve shirt and black pants with a black hooded traveling cloak and dark brown boots. His most outstanding features are his grey silver hair and deep golden yellow eyes that tend to counter his intimidating appearance by being filled with laughter and joy all the time. Like his sons he favors a straight blade katana and scythe. His sword on his left hip and his scythe on his back or awaiting his summons. Around his neck is a Chaos Star necklace which bears a pure white diamond in the dead center of it, exactly like the one he gave to his son Rathon, who then gave it to Kale. On his back is his family crest. A 7 pointed star that bears the name of a relative on each point. His wife at the top. His children along the left side. His brother, mother and father along the right. It is nearly the same color as his skin so it is difficult to see it unless activated, which will cause it to glow, or inspected closely.
Dreams for the Future: - To bring peace back to his homeland.
Reason for Dreams: - He was driven from his home in a massive civil war.
Alignment/side: - What ever side his sons and daughter take.
