Character's Physical Description:
Ava has a thick Scottish accent that she wears well, with auburn hair and bright, jubilant emerald eyes. Freckles lie dominant upon her face, right under her eyes on her high cheek-bones. Ava is extremely tall and extremely skinny with fair skin, small enough to look like the most fragile thing you’ve ever seen, but strong enough to lift ten men – literally. Her arms and legs are long and nimble and her face has the adorableness, yet seductive, looks of an elf. She stands at exactly 6 foot and has the gracefulness and agility of a gazelle but the instincts and fighting skills of a lion. Normally, she wears light, flittering kind of clothing; anything that drapes and/or clings to the shape of her body. She wears thin bangles around her wrists, always, and a long copper chain around her petite neck with a small, working compass at the end of it, hanging down to her collarbone. And last, but not least, of course her ears are pointed.

Dislikes: Small, enclosed spaces; not being able to fly;
Weakness/Fear: 'Fear nothing, take everything!' - despite living by that motto, Ava is scared of a few things, such as: falling from high heights (ironically enough); losing Aidan, her younger brother, Terra, her young Bald Eagle, or Scales, her black dragon; losing her treasure.

Character Personality: A ruthless warrior, a born leader, and a stubborn defender, Ava is the captain of the only known Skii Ship in Alagaesia, the Black Dragon. Her crew looks up to her with sincerity and complete and utter loyalty. She follows her own rules and guidelines, and her crew always trusts she knows best. Growing up, she was taught to never let destiny have its way with you, you have your way with destiny. She’s a free spirit, one that can’t be contained, and she’d sooner make herself walk the plank before she let anyone get away with man-handling her, her friends, or her crew. She doesn’t take anything from anybody, but she’s a kind spirit, though mischievous, and was born to be a wanderer of the skies. She believes that what comes around, goes around, and what you see is what you get, but if you don’t like what you see, then try your utmost to make it what you like; and if all else fails, there’s always cheating and sleuthing. The simplest of things make her happy, except for when it comes to treasure. If it’s treasure, she can’t get enough. She needs more and more and more and will go to basically any extent to get it; stealing, trading, selling, assassinations, you name it. But she is also one of the most honest and trustworthy pirates you will ever meet if you get the chance to. She’d sooner risk her life for a fellow mate before turning her back on them, and that’s an oath she will never break. She also believes in the act of equivalent exchange.

Home Village: A small sea-port town off the shore of Alagaesia close to the ‘secret’ black market docks nearing the South end of The Spine Mountains.
Parents: Ignitus (her Human father - deceased) and Ellia (her Elf mother - deceased)
Siblings: Aidan, her younger brother (by four years) and her second in command in running her ship.
Alignment/Side: She's good, inside and out, but she's mischievous and quite the wild one. There's a good reason her crew goes by the name of "Skii Warriors".

Character History: Ever since she could remember, Ava has seen, lived, and breathed the sea. She loved boats, too. But she was torn, also, because of her love for the sky. She constantly went out on her father’s boat with him growing up, for various reasons, whether to help him run the ship or just to relax. She lived with her father and mother until she was thirteen, when her life changed because of her father’s death. He’d been caught in a bad sea storm one day when transporting goods to another part of Alagaesia. His ship was struck down by lightening and Ava never saw him again. For months afterward, Ava was emotionless and wouldn’t eat, locking herself in her room. But one day, she abruptly returned to normal with a new life-long goal: She’d make the first ship that ever flew and gather a heap of treasure to give to her mother to spoil her the way she had when Ava was growing up. For the next four years, she worked hard, almost nonstop on the ship. Over the years, she also obtained loyal and trustworthy friends from around her village who helped fund and build the large ship, including her younger brother, Aiden, and who later on became her crew. About the time she began building the ship, which she built the ship in her father’s large, old boat house, she found a young black dragon hiding in the boat house. It was severely wounded, and she nursed it back to health until he was good as new, though one of his horns would never grow back again. After that, the dragon never left her side and she decided to keep him, naming him Scales.
The boat house is where, when it was finished, she hid the Skii Ship, which she soon named after Scales, calling it the Black Dragon. When they finally succeeded on getting the ship to fly, using the help of Ava’s ingenious blueprints, she only flew it at night. At least, this was until her mother passed away one fateful night in her sleep of a heart attack. Ava was stricken and took it just as well as anyone else would, but made a vow to herself that from that night on, she would travel the skies in the Black Dragon and still collect treasure, but she would do it out of pure joy. She, of course, had no choice but to take her begging brother with her, not that she minded. He was a constant reminder of their father and she to him of their mother.
The day they were ready to set sail to the skies, a young golden eagle fell into Ava’s able care, after getting caught by a bigger bird and getting attacked. Ava took the eagle with her, naming her Terra, and she was her ‘parrot’ on the Black Dragon. From that point on, they traveled the skies on the Black Dragon and became known as “Skii Pirates”, though they soon earned the name of “Skii Warriors” after turning into a rebel alliance against Galbatorix and another evil baddie that a friend of hers introduced her to, known as Lukia Ursl.

Skills:
-Swordsmanship- The only true skills Ava owns are tricks with a sword and hand-to-hand combat. Other than that, she’s just abnormally smart, tight-rope walking the borderline of genius.

-Spirit Reincarnation- This technique is the only true magical skill that Ava holds. It’s the ability to bring the spirit of an animal back to this side, the side of the living. If the animal is a guardian or companion of some sort that is bonded to a person though, the person who was bonded to the animal is the only person able to hear the animal in their head. The animal doesn’t literally come back, just their spirit. And depending on how much effort Ava puts into the spell, the affects either last for the rest of that person’s life time or until she cuts off the contact.

Animal Companion:
-Scales: A black dragon, only a few years old. He’s a typical child: rambunctious, full of life, and excited. She feels a special connection with Scales, like they were meant to meet and meant to be together. His scales are a dull black, outlined with silver. He has two horns on the back of his head, but his right one missing. It’s a stub now. Ava was forced to file the sharp edge of the missing horn down so it wouldn’t harm Scales or someone else. His eyes are silver, like the outline of his scales. At night, the silver outlining of his scales seems to glow with a faint radiance, as well as his eyes. His tail, though small, is thick and simple. Scales is old enough where his wings have actually formed but he hasn’t quite practiced with them enough to fully use them. His talons are black, like his horns and he breathes small puffs of fire, nothing major yet.

-Terra: A Golden Eagle. Unsure of how old she truly is, but she’s still got plenty of youth. She simply sticks around with Ava, seemingly thinking she owes her something for saving her wing and possibly her life. She feels drawn to Ava, as most creatures do. Her feathers are golden, hence the name Golden Eagle. Her beak and talons are black, as are her eyes – though they are soft and kind.

Weapons:
-The Black Dragon: This is Ava’s Skii Ship, the one and only boat in all of Alagaesia that flies. The ship itself is extremely long, ranging from anywhere between 50-60 feet long with the head of the boat in the shape of a black dragons head, it’s claws raised and its mouth open, as if to attack. The Black Dragon is painted completely black, but the sails, which are both wind powered and solar powered, are a deep golden color. The wood used that the Black Dragon was carved from is extremely rare and extremely special, having simple magical properties. Ava had it imported from a far off land and had Aiden carve the artistic dragon into the front of her. The sails are made of a special cloth, also imported from the same land as the wood with the same magical properties.
The Black dragon looks exactly like a pirate ship, meaning the structure and purpose of each area of the ship is basically the same. There are few differences, like the fact that there are four large retractable sails on the side of the ship, like wings, except they don’t flap. There are plenty of hidden trap doors and what not through the two story ship. On the main deck, at the very beginning of the ship, there is a large cabin where Ava and Aiden reside in when they’re not running the ship. The rest of the men sleep in the cabins and what not below deck. But there are steps that lead up to the top of the cabin, where the captain's wheel resides, along with other major controls, like the emergency break lever that causes the entire ship to stall instantly if pulled.

-Sword: Ava carries numerous small weapons on her, like small daggers, small knives, and small bombs that explode on impact doing not very much damage at all, but she carries nothing major except for a single sword. She doesn’t exactly enjoy fighting and tries to avoid it at all costs by letting her men fight. She’ll only cut in if she feels they can’t handle it, but that’s usually not the case. The sword she wields at her hip is sheathed in a leather casing, making it look longer than it really is, but the blade itself is slightly curved and gets thicker, width wise, nearer the end. Everything else, she keeps expertly hidden on herself.

Dreams for the Future: Be the richest Pirate that ever lived and make history.
Reason for Dreams: She doesn’t want to be forgotten, she wants to make history, and will do basically anything to make that happen. As a tribute to her father’s love of ships and sailing and her mother’s love of wealth and fine things, she tries her hardest to do what she thinks would please them. And her making something of herself is definitely one of them.
