There really isn't any. The argument about so they can be together even if Eragon has to far away isn't very plausible. They said in the books that doing that makes them stronger and that they knew they would have to do things like that and they make sacrifices when they have to. They are not very selfish beings and loneliness isn't going to stop them from doing what they have to do. If Eragon was leaving Alagaesia, then that is another story because he would never be returning.

The reason she hasn't disgorged it already is because yes, the being apart was supposed to make them able to function without each other. The reason for that is so if one of them dies, the other doesn't go crazy or try to kill themself. But now that they know they can do that, the only thing keeping Saphira from giving her HoH to Eragon is that it's to dangerous. She will give it to him if she has no choice.

She wont have to give up her eldunari unless Galby captures her, and so he wont get her HoH and eragon can keep it safe. That's of course worse case senarios.

That or she gives it to Eragon before they go fight him, so if they lose he can't get it. (And they're not going to lose. )

I'm pretty positive that she did. In the book it said that Eragon sensed a strange shift in her emotions, but he didn't know what it was. And this was before he learned about Eldunari, so she could have and just not told him. Like she said, Eldunari are normal things for dragons, so she wouldn't have thought it necessary to tell him. (Although dragons consider it a big deal to transfer into one.)

She had a shift, but that doesn't actually mean she did transfer, she just might have been a little cautious, or he would have figured it out when he felt Glaedr's HoH. He would have been able to feel teh similarities between the two minds.

Eragon can't touch Glaedr's mind like he can Saphira's, so he wouldn't have felt it when Glaedr transferred into his Eldunari.

It is still entirely possible that Saphira did transfer, and that she won't disgorge until she either has no other choice, or she's going somewhere where it would be to dangerous for her to still have it with her. (Like Uru'baen.)

I know that Eragon and Saphira have been apart before, but that was just to make sure they could function if the other one dies. Now that they know they can, she could give it to Eragon if they have to split up for an extended period of time (again). But I think that if she does give up her Eldunari it will be right before they fight Galbatorix so that there is no danger of him getting it from her by force.

So if they dont have to split up, she wont disgorge, right?

That's my opinion anyway. What do y'all think?

I'm not saying she'll die (or I will have some choice words to say to CP if she does!!! ), I'm saying she's probably already transferred into her Eldunari, but that she won't disgorge it unless she and Eragon have to split up again or she'll wait until they're getting ready to go fight Galby. That way he can't get it away from her and control her with it.


Random thought: Don't reply to this 'cause it's off topic, just think about it. Maybe the Urgals know where the Rock of Kuthian is. Arya said it sounded familiar, but she didn't know why, and we know that the elves have a lot of books and such over the Urgals, so maybe she read it somewhere when she was younger. Say, maybe when she volunteered to be the ambassador to the Varden.

I don't mean disgorge it right there in Galby's palace, I mean they leave it somewhere with someone they trust completely. Either that or they could leave it inside the VoS.

It was a suggestion with the implications that in book 4 eragon and saphira may find the Vos before they go off to fight Galby, and that they may store Saphira's eldunari there and then go off and fight Galby.

Lol, well since this is the last book we know they're gonna find the VoS.

I'm thinking that saphira might have halfway transferred into her eldunari. She might not even have all the way gone in. That might be an interesting fact.

Considering that Glaedr said that once a dragon has transferred there's no going back, I wouldn't think that'd be possible.

Just a suggestion. Besides, did saphira really have a reason to transfer? Or did she just do it because she felt like it? I don't think she did, but I'm an opinionated person. lol

And she can transfer into it, but she doesn't necessarily have to disgorge it. Her conciousness can be in her HoH, but her HoH can also still be in her body.

Ummmm... Or Saphira could just be hiding the information from Eragon like she did with the stuff that Brom told her before he died. She's really good at that, but I don't think there's anyway she could keep Galby out of her mind for very long, unless it's after Eragon finds the VoS.

Maybe he has to use more than brains to outsmart Galby. Maybe a physical duel could help him out. Galby hasn't really fought in a while, like an actuall war, but he is powerful in magic. If he get's a hold of Saphira's HoH, eragon would be doomed for all eternity, if he livesa that long, and if saphira transferred.

It would be easier, but there are advantages and disadvantages to transferring... but I can't think of any off the top of my head...

Disadvantage: Mucho dangerous

Advantage: Eragon could keep in contact with her from far away. (Very useful if they have to split up across a long distance to fight different battles.)

Yeah. Another disadvantage would be hiding the feeling of power from everyone else who can sense magic. That means eragon would have to be on high alert should someone try to "steal" saphira.

Another advantage is that eragon would have more power to defeat his foes with.

Hmm... Do we know if an Eldunari can be sensed if it's not being touched? I know it's basically a dragon's consciousness, but idk if they can be sensed like a dragon whose consciousness is still inside them.

I think that they would be able to feel the power radiating out of it, because the elves are good at that.

That's only if she regurgitates it. If not, then the power would still come from her, just a little obscure.

No, if it's still inside her (which I think it is) then it would be practically impossible to sense it's power. It would probably be covered up by her body's vitality. And I answered my own question: Eragon wasn't touching Glaedr's Eldunari when he saw through Glaedr's eyes, so apparently you don't have to be touching them to "feel" them. But maybe you have to be "bonded" to one to contact it without touching it? Remember, Eragon was the first one to touch Glaedr's Eldunari when he regurgitated it, so maybe that created some sort of link between him and the Eldunari.

Either that, or Glaedr wanted to let eragon see, so he didn't have to touch it.

Yeah, but if Glaedr's mind was closed to even Oromis, why would he open part of his mind to Eragon? He couldn't have known what was about to happen. Maybe his emotions were so strong they slipped out of the Eldunari even though his mind was closed?

Yeah, I agree. glaedr is most likely strong enough to make sure that eragon doesn't overhear or see things that he does not want to see, but maybe this was so important that eragon had to witness teh battle between a Galby-controlled murtague and the last remaining rider of the old order. if it wasn't for Oromis's "disability", they most likely would have survived that battle.

That made me so mad!!!! I'm almost done re-reading Brisingr, and I had the thought today when Oromis was telling Eragon about the wards on Naegling to protect him if he had a seizure in battle, that wouldn't it have been better if he had warded a necklace or something? I mean, if it had a jewel or something on it where he could store energy to sustain the wards then he wouldn't have to worry about dropping the dang thing like he did Naegling.

I thought about him using a ring like Aren, but then what would happen if his finger got lopped off?

Like I posted elsewhere on the forum, I just finished re-reading Brisingr. And I honestly believe that she did transfer into her HoH. But we won't know for sure until the next book comes out.

With all the good arguements that people placed on this forum, I can't make up my mind anymore. i am going to have to re-read it again too.
