 Final Count downReb stood at a stand still watching the blood red sun rise above the hills that stood before her. Cobalt pranced in place in anticipation of what was to come. He felt his rider's resolve to die in the valley below. He was slowly trying to move her away from her death.
Cobalt tugged on the reins and flipped his head backwards, trying desperately to save Reb from herself. "I am not going to give up Cobalt. Whether or not you take me there, the out come will be the same. " Reb said angrily. Shedo emerged from the forest, crying out to her companion of old. Reb turned dark eyes to her, the blood red burning bright. "Not you too. It will release me. Just let me go." Reb said, dismounting form her mount and then slowly unsaddling him she set him free. "Be free my friend. You all are free." Reb said with deep regret then moved off into the trees, decending from the hills. She was here for her final battle. Star Gazer heard Reb's thoughts and let out an anguished cry. She knew that since Leth was still alive, she wouldn't be going with Reb. It broke her heart. Leth was her true bonded rider and as such, she held the key to Star Gazer's life. Locking Star Gazer in a fate without Reb, a fate worse than death. "No Reb! Don't!" That was bugled through the dragon world. Star Gazer called her companions to help stop Reb from this mad dash to death. Reb heard Star Gazer's feverent cry, but it went unheeded as she emerged into the center of a town. No one was outside as Reb made her way down the deserted streets. Her black boots, her black leather vest over a dark purple, tunic and a pair of black pants made her appear unwelcoming, causing caution in the townspeople. "Leth!" Reb cried, knowing that Leth was here with five different shades. All of which had the order to kill her. From behind a building Leth emerged, smirking her victory as her shade cronies followed. Reb knew she could beat them easily, but she hadn't come here to win. She had come here to die. "Try your best shot." Reb snarled and Leth immediately shot black fire straight into Reb's chest knocking her off of her feet, and into a stone building. Star Gazer roared out in pain as she felt what Reb felt, saw what Reb felt. She was speeding to get to her rider before it was too late. Before Reb got herself killed, avoiding suicide, but it was just as bad as if she had comitted the act herself. Reb got to her feet, and crouched low, her battle instincts taking over where her will to live lacked. "So the shade emerges. You don't deserve to live. Your a dark monster of death. Look at all the people you've killed. Your not worthy of life." Leth taunted knowing Reb was weak in the moral area. Star Gazer prayed to God that the prohecied(sp) saving grace of Reb's life would come now to save her in soul heart body and mind. |

Re: Final Count down It just so happened that Kuja was in the area and he sensed the activity that was going on. His intrests were peaked so he decided to see what the commotion was. Walking into a town he saw a group a shades fighting another. Upon a closer look he saw Reb, Leth, and some other shades.
He had seen Leth around before...supposedly she was raised by Galbatorix....or at least trained by him. Out for revenge now is she? With friends to help...? Hahaha...how sad. Kuja teleported behind the group of shades and slayed them all with quick movements to their hearts. "Weither it be for revenge or merely an order, you need help to kill one person? How pathetic..." Kuja walked forward, past Leth and a short distance from Reb and looked at her. He turned to Leth once more, "if you have to rely on others to deal with issues of your past, perhaps you do not deserve live either." _________________ -------------------------------------

Re: Final Count down Phal heard a distant, anguished cry in her mind. She knew it was Star Gazer, crying out for Reb. What is going on? she thought, anxious to help her sister-in-law and her rider. Phal growled under her breath, knowing that Reb must be in some sort of trouble. Phal decided to help, for she didn't want to see anything bad happen to Star or her rider.
Phal flew as fast as she could towards the cry. She could feel Star's feelings of anguish and desperation as she grew closer, and eventually she could see Star with her Vision. She had disguised herself as a shooting star as she flew to avoid detection; it might be necessary for whatever was happening. Star would know it was her, though. She soon came in speaking distance of the deep purple dragoness. Star, where's Reb? Re: Final Count down Faefnir flew with great speed from Stronghold, his wings straining from the effort. He flew so quickly, even the Stag had trouble keeping up. They quickly found Star gazer, and Phalynx was above them as a shooting star. [/i]Star?! Where's Reb?![/i] Being mates, Faefnir shared her fear for her Rider, and would do anything to keep her from accomplishing the foul act-of-death-and-damnation Reb was about to commit. Being close to her dragon, Faefnir shared in her pain as well, and was certain to go insane with grief if something happened to her. His toughts drifted to the conclusion of the Draconian War, which seemed many lifetimes ago... He brushed those thoughts out of his head and combed the desert for any sign of Reb.

Re: Final Count down Emrhyst let out a roar that shook the massive trees beside her as she felt Reb being struck by magic. In an instant, she took off. Eriel was recovering from the physical trauma she suffered just a week ago. The green dragoness had given Eriel her heart of hearts just to make sure she would always know if her rider was fine.
Reb! What are you doing? The dragoness propelled her thoughts forward as she rode on the air currents, the gold on her scales reflected the sunlight, giving her a blood red tinge to her scales. When no reply came, the dragoness let out a bitter roar and started to flap her wings, flying as fast as she could towards the valley wherein Reb wished to die. She felt evil growing as she approached it, when she got close enough, she snarled. Leth... Re: Final Count down Reb heard the battle in her mind, hearing all the worried combs of her mind, searching for her. She had put up a shield even the toughest and oldest dragon couldn't get through. She didn't want her friends to try to stop her. " Don't worry Faefnir, I have no wish to kill myself. I will die honorably in some battle, whether this one or another. It matters not." Reb said into the minds of all connected to her, then cut them off so they couldn't find her. She was ready for this battle.
Reb gave Kuja a slight nod of the head for thanks and then turned back towards Leth. "I may not be Zantya but I am still powerful enough to kill you." She said angrily and then drew her sword and the blade lit on fire. It lit up the air, causing super charge. She was ready for battle. Leth snarled angrily and drew her own sword, the black light emanating from it causing an inky blackness to invade the air. She wouldn't lose this battle. She would kill Reb here and now. She lunged angrily at Reb and hacked down with her sword. Reb had attempted to jump out of the way but Leth had run straight at her, and she ended up with a slice in the side. Leth swung away from her and crouched low, staring with perverse pleasure as Reb stood before her, blood slowly trickling to the ground, and Leth's power growing as Reb's diminished. Everything was in slow motion as Reb put her hand to her side and covered the wound, and as she slowly drew her hand away, the sickly blood dripped down her hand rolling to the ground like a ruby jewel of death. She knew at that moment that she couldn't do it. She could not let Leth kill her. She knew that she had to fight, had to live. The blood triggered her will to live and fight, and everything returned to normal speed as she lunged for Leth, and then blew her into a building with fire. |

Re: Final Count down Kuja watched off to the side as Leth and Reb fought eachother. He watched silently, thinking to himself as the battle progressed. Reb may be an enemy of the Empire, but he had no personal quarrel with her. Kuja didnt really think of himself part of the Empire, he merely used it as an asset for his own gain.
He saw the Reb lunged at Leth into a burning building, but he kept reflecting his thoughts. Kuja stared at the burning building with blank eyes. He sighed slightly, Emotions...they only complicate things. Kuja turned his head slightly, Ah... it seems Reb has her own friends now. I suppose to be fair... I cannot allow them to interfere. I already disposed of Leth's subordinates... _________________ -------------------------------------

Re: Final Count down Phal immediately heeded Emrhyst's words. I can see all of you. I will go to each of you, and then I will look for Reb. I'm sure I can spot her too, especially with Star Gazer, she called out. Phal had decided to take it upon herself to bring them together. Emrhyst was right, and there was always strength in numbers.
Phal flew straight towards the first one of them she saw, which, not to her surprise, was the largest: her brother-of-blood Faefnir. Faefnir, follow me and we'll find the others, she said. Her sight power was proving valuable; for she could see the other dragons even when they would normally be out of view. Phal then found Emrhyst, and flew towards her as well.
