Name: Minerela

Age: Less than a year

Skills: Because she is a water dragon, Minerela can control water. She can sense when it’s nearby, if it’s salt or fresh, if and how fast it’s running, make it freeze or melt, regardless of the weather and make rain start or stop as long as there’s clouds in the sky. She can also turn rain into snow, but it’s more difficult. Her skill has a radius of about two miles.
Being a water dragon, Minerela is also an excellent swimmer, for her swimming is as easy as flying. She can dive as deep as she wants to and can easily hold her breath for half an hour. Her body is designed for swimming with extra bones and muscles, and her figure is a bit like that of a fish.
Minerela is not particularly talented in fighting, but she’s fast, and even though her small size means she isn’t very strong, it also means that she’s difficult to catch. Her body, specially designed for swimming, also makes her very dexterous. She has several moves that would not be possible for a normal dragon.

Character personality: Minerela is generally shy. If she’s among strangers, she will generally wander a little ways away to examine whatever has caught her attention. If she’s in a conversation with lots of people, she will usually be cheerful and friendly, but she won’t say much. In a one-on-one conversation, she will smile and nod a lot and look for an escape. Minerela is always very cheerful, and it’s difficult to keep her down. If something annoying happens-for instance, if her prey gets away or it starts to rain-she will just be intensely irritated for a moment, then ignore it. She usually doesn’t get really tied with anything to the point that she has to have it. There are a lot of people she likes a lot, but not very many she’s really bound to. Minerela is always very straightforward. She has no patience for beating around the bush or complicated etiquette. It takes a lot to make her sad, and she very rarely loses her temper. Once in a blue moon does she ever go beyond intensely exasperated. She does worry, though. Minerela can be a bit paranoid, though. If she’s ever doing something that could turn bad, she gets very creative in thinking up all the things that could go wrong. She usually doesn’t go beyond very anxious, though. She’s hardly ever passionate. She is bored easily and hates monotony. Most people don’t know her very well, but those who do see that she can always be depended on for help. She’s very caring and compassionate. Minerela is a constant dreamer, she can sometimes be a bit absentminded.

Character history: Mirenela’s egg was laid along with two others on Medyer, an island where a tribe of water dragons lived. A couple of weeks after the eggs were laid, two allied tribes of opposing dragons attacked. A small group of them searched for and broke the eggs they could find. Torn, Mirenela’s mother started to hide her eggs, but she didn’t know if that would be enough. Eventually, after a great deal of thought, she pushed them into the sea. Currents tossed the eggs about and carried them through the ocean. Soon, the three eggs were separated. Mirenela’s egg was washed into a web of underground rivers underneath what would later be known as the Hadarac desert.

A few centuries later, the rivers had dried up and Valkaria, Chrysoprase and her rider, Genesei, while exploring the labyrinth of tunnels, chanced upon Mirenela’s egg. Valkaria, thinking it was an ordinary stone, took it too add to her rock collection. Later Genesei and Chrysoprase said it looked like a dragon’s egg, and Valkaria identified it as a water dragon’s egg. They took it to an island near Sharktooth, where it hatched. Valkaria, Genesei and Chryrsoprase taught her to fight and helped her figure out her water abilities. Eventually Valkaria, Genesei and Chrysoprase left, while Mirenela made her home on the island.

Dislikes: Dry places, small spaces, crowds

Physical appearance: Mirenela is small, even for her age, with a wingspan of only ten feet. Her scales are silver and her claws and spines are the same color, except with a tinge of blue-green. Her eyes are aqua, sometimes going bluer or greener, like the sea. Her body is very slender, like that of a fish, and her wings appear slightly warped because they’re built for swimming. She is very delicate and graceful. When using her water powers, she’s surrounded by a vague aqua glow, shifting and shimmering, like her eyes.
