1: Arc blast- While Hurricane can’t shoot lightning bolts from his mouth like a true lightning dragon, he can produce a 35,000 degree arc blast. This ability is similar to Violeta’s firebolts, but this attack is strictly for close range attacks. This is an explosion of electric energy. It loses its effectiveness quickly but at point blank range, it is devastating and can vaporize the flesh right off an enemy and melt steel. The arc blast takes an immense amount of energy to produce and can only be used a few times at one sitting.

2: Electric pulse- This ability is similar to Violeta’s shock defense but works differently. Instead of simply electrifying his scales, Hurricane can emit a pulse of electricity in all directions as a defensive measure. Also, unlike a true lightning dragon’s shock defense, static discharge uses a moderate amount of energy.

3: Spirit abilities: This ability was given to Hurricane by the guardians of the Spirit Realm so that he could perform a favor for them. When Hurricane uses this ability, he takes the form of a spirit. His body becomes translucent, though he can also make it invisible altogether. While this ability uses no energy, it does have limitations. First, Hurricane can only use it for a few minutes at a time. Second, he cannot physically interact with others around him in this form or use any of his other abilities. Third, his mind is still vulnerable to attack in this form. Lastly, Hurricane cannot use this ability repeatedly at one sitting. For example, he can avoid a sword attack by turning into his spirit form and then reverting back to his normal form, but he cannot repeat it more than once at any given time.

4. The ability to summon Nesara’s spirit. This ability was Hurricane’s reward for completing the aforementioned assignment for the guardians of the Spirit Realm. Hurricane was bonded to the spirit of his deceased mate, Nesara, allowing him to summon her. When he summons her spirit, he can either draw energy from her to aid him in battle or he can actually unleash her spirit upon his opponents. When he does the latter, Nesara’s spirit will take on a translucent form and attack enemies, fighting alongside Hurricane in battle. While this ability costs Hurricane no energy, it can only be used for a few minutes at a time. He doesn’t always use this ability for fighting though. Sometimes he just wants to speak to his lost mate.

5. Dragon fire: It’s just regular dragon fire. Being a half breed, hurricane has the ability to breath fire rather than shoot lightning bolts like a true lightning dragon.

Character Personality:
As a young dragon, Hurricane was proud, arrogant and had a fiery spirit. The hardships he has endured in his life have changed him though. After Nesara died, he became bitter and lonely. Hurricane became an outcast. He was often bitter and irritable toward others and prefers to be by himself. After his soul was infused with Nesara’s Hurricane lost some of the irritability and bitterness and gained some of Nesara’s lively and fiery personality. However, he has a dry sense of humor and still tends to be quite cynical at times. He detests the Empire, having suffered greatly at their hands, and all evil in general. Hurricane has few friends and many enemies. As a wild dragon, he is still proud and unwilling to bow down to anyone and he would likely threaten to eat you if you commanded him to do so. Hurricane is always kind and gentle to children, whether they be dragon, human, elf or whatever. To him, children represent innocence and that is something that he wants to protect. Hurricane longs start another family but he is afraid to form a relationship with another female dragon because of his loyalty to Nesara and because he is afraid of losing another mate. However, Nesara has since told him that she wants him to find love again and to be happy. Like all dragons, hurricane is highly intelligent and wise. That is what has kept him alive through countless battles. He enjoys fighting and will not hesitate if someone is intent on threatening him, but he does not enjoy killing. Hurricane tries to avoid needless bloodshed, only killing when it is necessary. Nesara does not share his love of fighting and often chides him for his behavior unless the fight is actually justified.

Character History:
Early life:
Hurricane hatched in a cave in the Boer Mountains 150 years ago. His mother was a firebreather and his father was a lightning dragon. Hurricane was trained by his parents in the art of draconian combat, flying, using his abilities, and dragon lore. Hurricane quickly grew into a handsome young adult and at the age of twenty years, when he reached his full size, he moved to the arid lands south of the mountains. While there, he met a dragoness named Nesara . Unlike Hurricane, Nesara was actually a pure lightning dragon. She was stunningly beautiful and full of life and Hurricane quickly fell in love with her. For the next thirty years, they traveled across Alagaesia, sharing adventures together. Finally the two wild dragons decided to start a family together and before long, Nesara laid a clutch of five eggs. Then everything changed. While they were building their family, Galbatorix rose to power and began his mass genocide against dragons everywhere. Hurricane returned from a hunt one day to find Galbatorix’s assassins attacking his nest. Joining Nesara in battle, Hurricane fought to protect their eggs. Nesara was severely mauled by one of the Forsworn’s dragons and as Hurricane attempted to help her he was stabbed through the heart with a sword. As he collapsed to the ground, Hurricane would only watch helplessly as the nest along with the eggs were destroyed. The forsworn then departed, leaving the wounded dragons to die. Just when Hurricane was about to pass into the void, Nesara crawled to her mate’s side and used her healing abilities and her last ounce of strength to heal his wounded heart, saving his life at the cost of her own.

Fighting the empire:
Though he was devastated by the loss of his mate and children, Hurricane knew he could not stand against the Empire so he fled to the mountain and joined his mother and father who had survived the Fall. Upon hearing that the Forsworn were dead and that a rebellion was gaining strength in Alagaesia, Hurricane finally revealed himself and began fighting the empire. He has worked with several resistance movements over the years, including the Varden. One day three mysterious figures who glowed with a radiant white light and wore elegant white robes approached Hurricane with an odd request. They identified themselves as the Guardians of the Spirit Realm. Their duty was to care for souls in the afterlife and they needed Hurricane’s help. The Guardians explained that there were a few eldunari in Galbatorix’s possession whose souls needed to be sent to the Spirit Realm . The mysterious guardians refused to elaborate as to why they needed those souls, but they promised to reward Hurricane by giving reuniting him with his mate. Eager to seek revenge against Galbatorix and to see his beloved Nesara again, Hurricane agreed, though he was not sure If he trusted the strange beings. To help him in his mission, the Guardians bestowed spirit abilities onto Hurricane, giving him the ability to take on a ghostly spirit form for a short period of time. After infiltrating Galbatorix’s fortress using his spirit powers, Hurricane located the dragon eldunari that needed to be sent to the spirit realm and smashed them. After fighting his way out of the palace, Hurricane was contacted by the Guardians, who were grateful for his help and as payment, they infused his soul with Nesara’s so that they would always be together. Hurricane gained the ability to summon Nesara’s spirit and use it to help him fight. Over the years Hurricane endured many battles against the Empire and other evil forces. He has made many enemies and is almost always on the run.

Character's Physical Description: Hurricane’s scales are jet black while his spikes, horns, talons, and teeth are white. His horns stick out of the back of his head rather than the top. Hurricane is about forty feet long with a wingspan of sixty-five feet. He has amber colored eyes. Because he is only part lightning dragon, Hurricane lacks the fur of full-blooded lightnings, instead having only bare scales. Hurricane has a scar on his chest right over his heart from where he was stabbed with a sword.

Dreams for the Future: To fight evil and stop injustice and to someday find another mate or companion.

Reason for Dreams: 1. After seeing his mate and defenseless eggs murdered by evil people, he wants to stop it from happening to anyone else. 2. Because Nesara wants him to find love again.
