nobody can stay mad at me... one time my friend (jana)was mad at me cause our friend was coming over to my house and jana wanted her to come to her house. but my other friend didnt want to go over to janas. so jana was like "Jordan, i hate you! you never talk to me, ur always talking to ur guy friends. i hate you and im never going to talk to you again." i just laughed and told her she would talk to me tomorrow or sooner. well she called that afternoon and said " jordan please forgive me, i cant ever stay mad at you for long." but yeah i guess im just really awesome and people love me.. lol jk

and as far as parents go, they just wanna keep you safe. (it's a side effect of that love emotion). but they can tend to over react some times...i mean, if they just checked out the site they would know ur fine. plus, as long as u r carefull u'l be fine.

Guys, I know that sometimes kids believe parents to be old fashioned, over-protective, want to make you miserable, don't want you to have fun, and all those thoughts that either come to mind or are told to you by a friend. But the truth of the matter is that there IS a lot of SICK people who post on sites posing as teenagers ands kids, and they are just fishing for gullible kids. Here in the States the access to the Internet has brought forward many wonderful advances, but unfortunately, it has opened a can of worms for sickos to prey on children.

As parents, our job is to ensure your safety, and this is one of the main reasons we need to set rules, and these rules many, and almost always make us look like the bad guys, but they are set as I said, for our children's safety and our peace of mind.

My youngest daughter will be 17 in September, has a computer in her bedroom, but no internet access. If she needs to use the Internet, then she has to come to my computer IN THE LIVING ROOM and I have Parental control on mine. I am very well aware that if she wants to access the web, she will find a way of doing it, but she needs to make choices and be responsible for these.

I hope you do not think I am lecturing you; just giving you the point of view of an adult, who has raised her daughters as a single parent, and very much aware of the dangers of the world. You will have to face those dangers eventually, that's part of growing up, but why do so when you can enjoy life within the safety of a loving family?

You mean the facts that nowadays everything are listed on the internet,, and the kids can found out about anything they want to know even when it's not suitable for their age and their maturity? Or you think that they will meet someone dagerous out there and brought the danger right in front of them in the real life ?

I think anything that happen on the internet is not real. You can 'meet' loads of people and chat all day but still; they're not real (until they exchange phone number and address!) and it can be shut down just as the internet connection.

I think internet is okay.. what's important is communication between family and fully understand each others reasons (why, why not, should, shouldn't, etc)..
Don't give address or phone number in the net-- never revealed your true name or school ! Nevertheless.. not everyone in the net is bad.. you can even meet your significant-other there

It's actually surprising how many perverted sickos would actually do that kind of stuff. That's why I like to think I'm sensible on the internet lol I can understand why parents might not want their kids to be on forums or chat rooms and stuff, but I would hate it if my parents had to watch what I did, or ban me from these places. It would feel like they didn't trust me, or they'd think I was stupid enough to give out personal information.

Here, what parents affraid of (if there's any) is not about revealing personal info or those kind of dangers, but the bad habbit of their kids that; for instance, searching for xxx sites or went online for a 12 hours straight playing online games.. it would affect the bills :p Other than that.. I never heard of parents forbidding their kids surfing the internet.

There's so pretty bad stuff on the Interent. One of my old teachers told me the story of some girls who chatted on a chat line with some other girls and then wanted to meet them. When they went to meet them they found out the girls weren't girls but a biker gang posing as girls.
