Notice how brom trained as a rider, fully. Either he abandoned his ways, or had no choice as he ate meat a lot when travelling with Eragon... Mayby after his dragon died he gave up the rider way...but the feeling bad about eating meat surely wouldn't go away/

Also, Brom was human, probably raised eating meat. Lapsing into eating meat might have been easier once he settled down for a quiet life, if he ever gave it up at all.

Brom lived alone...few people would notice. Mayby they had meat in Ilrea so he never stopped...but id be surprised. We shall see in book 4 ^^

Yeah, it is kind of weird that Brom would eat meat, because I thought that once you're a rider, you stay one, but I'm not sure if that is still a valid statement if your dragon dies.

Yeah, but as has already been pointed out, any rider was allowed to eat meat, but most didn't want to because they didn't like killing things. Galby probably couldn't care less about killing animals, so he probably gets all the meat he wants!

Personally, I have nothing against vegetarians, but it is natural for humans to eat meat. That's why we have the right teeth for it. Elves however, I'm not sure about lol

i really dont know what to say i only eat chicken and beef no other meet i just dont like it lol but my iron count was really low when i got my blood taken so mum tried making me eat steak it was discusting!!!

have you read the second book when eragon kills the rabbits with magic and just before he eats them he gets sick snd throws them away well maybe the reason Brom could eat meat was because he did not kill his meat using magic.

still wondering why people would debate about meat. It is like the veggy burger argument at my school.

We had an RSPCA argument at school. It was me aginst 4 other people. I said that the RSPCA SHOULD put down animals and the other 4 said that they SHOULDN'T. Everyone thought I was evil and I just had to say to them to think logically for a mintue.
