If you remember solumbum's advice, all will seem lost... possibly meaning the Varden is beaten the elves pinned, and the dwarves scattered. Say your name to the vault of souls. I think this might be his exit cue, but for sure Eragon won’t be the leader.

Ronan, Murtagh, and the Varden leader (the girl, I forget her name) might all have a chance at becoming the leader (weather it be king, president, caeser, and so on).

Yea but Elva, would be the best. She is forced by magic to help people, can see the future, and is wise beyond years. Sounds like the prefect person for the job.

(btw I think the reason why she eats so much is because the magic that looms over her costs her greatly, when she doesn't help people.)

as far as elva having to help ppl. her curse makes it so that she is to protect all, including enemies.
you see this when she saves nasuada. she told them to hurry after the assassin before she tried stopping them. she couldn't hold herself back much longer.

If we come to think about it, Nazuada has proven to be a great leader. She is courageous, sensitive, fair, and she turned out to be as good strategist as her father. She would be a great Queen for Alagaesia.

I totally agree with you. The elves have their own kingdom, so do the dwarves, so it's logical that once Galbatorix is dethroned, a human should rule in his place.

I found an excerpt in Eldest that kind of hints that later he may be able to do magic.

remember how Brom said something like only magic users will know if someone is in your mind? Ok maby it wasn't brom, but someone said that. Anyways, when Eragon entered Roran's mind, Roran knew someone was there. That probly means he can use magic.

I cannot remember anything about magic users and mind touch, even though it is debateable. However, that should be on another thread or topic.

I also think Roran would be a great King. He has know persecution, he has known injustice, he has known a hard, but honest life; he is also fmiliar with the abuses of a sovereigner; having lived through all this, I think he would be a good and fair King. (Even though that's no guarantee)

the place in the book where it says that is in the part of Eldest where Roran is on the (boat) dragon wing and sees Eragon for te first time. It says he felt somesort of alein mind touch his.

I remember in the book, it says that anybody can know how to talk with there minds, but only with the proper traning. Magic lets you do this to, but without training as does being attached to a dragon

No, Galbatorix killed Vrael. Vrael was the leader of the Dragon Riders. After he killed Vrael galby annointed himself king of Alagaesia. But, come to think of it, the books never really said who was the leader of Alagaesia at the time. Unless it WAS Vrael...

if you read the book it (one or the other) it says after slaying vrale that galbotorix flew to the capital urubain and killed the king and took the throne for his own

i was really thinking of roran. after all, if the first king of alagaesia came from Carvahall, there's a great chance that Roran might be a descendant. and if so, it would be nice if he claimed back his rightful "inheritance". it cannot be eragon because he will be leaving alagaesia forever.
