Skills: Can contort shadows and use them as a gateway to get to different locations. Making the gateway uses a lot of her energy and can only be done in dire emergencies or when she needs to go somewhere very quickly. The further she goes, the more energy it takes. So the distance that she can make them is limited.

Can walk in sunlight for short periods of time without getting hurt. Maximum time is 2 hours.

Basic vampire abilities: Can run faster and is slightly stronger than humans. Very flexible and can jump and climb high.

Character Personality: She is shy around new people and can be a little awkward as well. Her new abilities and her new state makes her very unsure of herself. She doesn’t sleep but has a state of rest where she can still dream. She often has terrible nightmares which causes her to live in a state of fear, sometimes lasting for several days. After being a vampire for about 50 years she is starting to lose her memory and cannot remember her early childhood or her family anymore. She enjoys spending her time in the wild with animals and in any kind of nature because she is too afraid that she would become out of control and hurt people. She doesn’t like the thought of having to drink blood in order to survive but she knows that she must do what she must, though she tries to go as long as she can without needing to drink it without feeling any loss in control on her body. She is very self conscious of her fangs and doesn't smile or talk much because of it. She feels a certain bond with animals that lets her be herself with no consequence. She enjoys traveling and experiencing new places. She likes discovering new books and any kind of new knowledge she can and when she does, she finds a quiet and peaceful place where she can enjoy it. Even though she is very unsure of herself and a bit uncomfortable, she longs for some kind of human companion or anyone that can better help and understand her. She hates violence and tries to prevent any kind of harm she can and protect whoever she finds. She also loves all kinds of art and spends a lot of her time admiring the parts of nature that have remained untouched and loves seeing art of everything she sees including all kinds of people, animals, scenes, and much more.

Character History: When Brilyn was 15 her and her parents were walking through her hometown of Belatona on their way home from dinner when two men came and attacked her parents. They protected her as best they could but in the process lost their lives. the events that happened next seemed to happen in a blur but she remembers a mysterious man helping her the whole way. She got back to her home and packed a small bag with essentials and found a store of money that her parents kept and took their only horse and fled until she ended up in Dras-Leona. She spent the next few months alone and finding whatever way she could to survive until a small group of people found her and took her in. She stayed with them for the next couple years, making money by doing odd jobs around the city and making a good amount of money. She also spent a good deal of time at the library (were they called libraries?) and taking books home, wanting to learn as much as she could since she was unable to have any form of learning. She learned a vast range of subjects including a couple styles of fighting. She enjoyed the company that her new friends provided but when she turned 18 she decided to find a place of her own and was very happy until her 19th birthday. Right around dusk she went for a walk around the city and heard a woman scream from a nearby alley. She rushed in hoping she could help but the woman was on the ground and a man stood over her. He looked up and she could see blood dripping from his mouth. She wanted to run but was frozen in place. He advanced towards her and she unsuccessfully tried to run away. He soon caught up with her and she became unconscious. She woke up in a small one room house with the strange man in it. She tried to escape but he prevented her from doing so and calmly tried to explain that he meant no harm. Not really having a choice, she spent the next few days there doing nothing but talking with the strange man. At one point she felt a strange feeling all throughout her body, and the man that she learned to be a vampire, decided to turn her into what he was. The process was excruciatingly painful but was very short. She spent the next few years (about 10) with her companion until one day he was gone with no word. She spent her time after that searching for her long lost friend with no luck. She hopes to find him soon but doesn’t think it will happen and travels in search of any other being she can befriend. Even though she has been a vampire for about 50 years, she is still unsure of herself and every day brings new surprises.

Weapons: A small dagger that she keeps concealed at her waist. The hilt is plain with black leather and old fashioned. The blade is sleek and ends with a curved point. The blade is a dark silver with a blue veined design. Her fighting style consists of a type of martial art she studied that only immobilizes your opponents. It hits them in very precise pressure points that renders them unconscious or unable to move.

Likes: - The cold, night, making friends, peace.

Dislikes: - Fear, convicts, crime.

Weakness / Fear: - Being discovered as a vampire and condemned or captured because of it.

Character's Physical Description: Long hair that goes to about mid- back and all black eyes. A slender face with high cheek bones and high eyebrows. Short sharp fangs that hang down barely below her normal teeth on the top row. They can only be seen or noticed when she talks or smiles. She is about 5'3 with a thin but muscular body. She wears baggy black pants that unbuttons at the knees and upper thigh and a dark blue leather belt. A long sleeved plain black shirt or a black tank top when it is hot outside. She keeps a hooded cape that she wears when she goes into towns and cities. She keeps a black ribbon to tie her hair back on her wrist along with a blue leather arm band and thigh high black shoes with white lacing. She carries a small bag with a small amount of cash and a picture of the vampire that turned her and her companion for many year and a couple of rare books she has found on her travels.
