I read the books like a year ago. It was pretty good.
If you haven't already you should check out the author's other two series, The Door Within Trilogy and the Berinfell Prophecies, if you can. He is also currently writing two new novels which are part of his new series, The Dark Sea Annals.

I know right? Those series are SO good! Door Within was so epic, I cried lol ^?^ It was awesome! I LOOOOOVE Alec, almost more than I like Aiden. I don't think it's fair that they and their glimpses were the same at the end, because THAT was just uncool. It was like Alec died...meh...that one guy, Kaliam, I think his name was, was one of my favourites. I loved him, and Gwyn was SUPER MEGA UBER EPIC!!! Lol, but that's off topic so pretty much...

I wonder what happened to Cat and Anne after Isle of Fire? That book was so good, the parts in the tunnels more than anything else, and all those memories that came back as well. Cat almost knows all of who he is now, so I wonder if he's still a little traumatized or not. And I wonder how he deals with it...hmmm...oh dangit now I wanna do a story on it...O_O

I must admit, I felt almost as good reading The Door Within books as I did reading LOTR. It was pretty fun.

Also, I found Bartholomew Thorn pretty epic. With a name like his that isn't very hard though.

I looooooved the bits in book two with the vikings! They were GOLD, and I kept picturing Erak lol Although, the one thing it needed was some use of Ugleh Stick (You know, like the fishing pole? Lol) on Kitty...that would have been epic. To be honest, in the beginning of the second book I thougt he was about to get trashed by the monk....ah well....*Sighs wistfully and vaguely wonders if there's a section for fanfics on this series*

OMNERF! WHAT IF: A crossover with Isle of Swords and Ranger's Apprentice! It would be weird, BUT IT COULD BE DONE! Also, I've got a few fanfic ideas....*Cackles* Basically...ah never mind, I'll just write it and...yeah....heh heh ehehhhhhhh....

Also, a slightly more serious fanfic idea; Kitty (He's a Kitty Cat!) BEFORE the series. WHAT WAS THAT LIKE? I'm thinking of writing a story to say what I think everything was like before the two books, when he was still with his dad.....O_O

A prequel to Kitty's life would be really cool...

Yeah, I was thinking of starting when he's too little to really know how awful his father is, maybe make Thorne be kind of nice to him at first and show him steadily getting worse as Cat gets old enough to understand and, as a result, start shying away from how Thorne is, which is of course what made Thorne go agro on him to start with. ^;^

That could explain a lot.
