 Mutual FeelingOOC: I...just feel like starting a new rp. Anyone is welcome to join. *cough fang cough ben cough*
IC: Artemis was grazing her talon along the surface of the pool of water that collected on the outside of her cave. She was bored, and the only thing to do was stare absent-mindedly at the ripples in the water that allowed her mind to wander. So many thoughts, and yet they seemed to wrap around the idea of the water. How dull. She knew she had to get up sooner or later and stretch. With a sigh, Mis got up and lifted her wings to allow cool air to flow through them. She had gotten warm from sitting in the sun, what with her black fur and feathers nearly soaking up all of the rays. It would probably be a good idea to find a quick meal before setting out and sight seeing. But...do I want to live like this forever? Mis wondered to herself. My siblings have brought it up that we should look for the two males mother had mated with...bah! she dismissed, shaking her head. I have no interest in that! I can go on without wondering who my father was! Re: Mutual Feeling The trees were in a rich shade of green, a gentle breeze blew through the leaves, and gloden streams of sunlight shone through the trees canopy. Through the beautiful forest wondered Cratos. His golden feathers glistening in the sun's rays. He came across a pool of water, crystal clear blue. He dipped his beak in the water and took a couple sips. He looked over at the other side of the pool and noticed an indent in the grass, someone had been lying there. Cratos gently flapped his wings and glided over to the other side. He sniffed the grass and immediately recognized the scent. Artemis, He whispered. He continued on with his stroll enjoying the sun beating down on his feathers and fur and the wind blowing through them. I've lived his the mountains for to long, the forest is much for beautiful, Cratos said to himself.
Cratos sat, near a small stream eating a bird. It was small so he finished it rather quickly. He dug his talons into the dirt making a small hole, he picked the carcass and placed it in the hole and buried it. Cratos walked over to the stream and placed his face in it washing off any blood. As he shook the water off his face he heard footsteps approach. ooc: I don't like that brown color anymore lol _________________  "Listen to them.  IC: Artemis sniffed among the fronds for a mouse or some other small creature when she suddenly caught the scent of a gryphon. Her instincts flashed that an intruder had imposed on her territory and she felt defensive. The feathers on the back of her neck rose in irritation but then slacked when she noticed that the scent had belonged to someone she knew. Cratos. What was he doing here? She was going to find out. Never could she ever be left in peace, she had to get visitors from out of nowhere. Perhaps it would be time to find a new place to live...somewhere desolate where no one would ever find her... Mis walked back towards the cave to find him there, lying out near her pool of water that she had been playing with moments ago. Oh...it's you, she murmured, mono-tone. He looked up to see Artemis, not to his surprise. Sight seeing, Cratos answered also monotone. The mountains get boring after awhile, just a bunch of rocks, but the forest, full of beautiful life. As he spoke Cratos looked out into the forest and listened to the birds songs, and then back at Artemis. Cratos flared his wings and readied himself to take flight, I'm assuming you want me to leave? ooc: >.><.< _________________ "Listen to them. No, you do not have to leave. Obviously no one else is with you, you are not searching for anyone...at least I don't believe so, and so I am not bothered by it. She, without realizing it, dipped her talon in the water once again, and asked, How goes the sight-seeing? Have you spotted anything interesting yet? There isn't much out here, except for the forest and animals. Quite peaceful I suppose, and very relaxing. Re: Mutual Feeling Surprise struck him when Artemis broke character and said no. Alright, Cratos replied tucking in his wings. He looked down at the water as Artemis placed her talon in it, he stared at the ripples, it was almost hypnotizing as they bigger and bigger. He shook his head, breaking away from his trance. Well, compared to sight seeing in the Spine this place is brilliant. From the small ants that work day in and day out to the wolves that howl in the night. The forest is one magnificent place. You know, I'm kinda surprised you live here, you should live in the mountains where there's nothing to bother you but rocks, Cratos teased.

Re: Mutual Feeling Artemis narrowed her eyes with annoyance. The forest is generally quiet when unexpected visitors come in for a stroll, she commented. But perhaps one day, I may go back to the mountains. I orignated from there you know, the Beor Mountains, kind of near the south.
She looked towards the trees. We're not alone, she murmured so quietly she could barely hear herself. Mis had a special ability of seeing shadows move against other shadows, the same effect of finding fish below the ripples of the water. Re: Mutual Feeling I was just messing with you Artemis, no need to get snooty, Cratos replied. Ahh, yes the Beors. That's where gryphon originated, though they soon migrated to the Spine, Surda, and up north.
Cratos followed Artemis' gaze and stared out into the trees. He saw nothing suspicious of the sorts. He felt like replying saying, "Of course we're not alone, theres animals everywhere" but he withheld knowing it would just annoy her. Yes, I came alone, he answered. Re: Mutual Feeling Artemis sighed. I apologize. I'm just tired, and I was looking forward to a good nap. But it can't be helped. She narrowed her eyes in thought at what was cloaked behind the shadows. That actually worries me, you coming alone. So you must not know them. There are two humans hiding in the brush over there. One of them is limping around and the other has a sword. I don't know exactly who they are, but I've never smelled them around here before. Do you recognize them?

 I decided to bring in Gus, since he is my only charry that can fly regularly. IC: Gus flew through the forest slowly. He was simply looking for something to eat. Paconio had urged the green to go out and have fun while his rider stayed home and tried to make some new bird friends. Gus, knowing how immensely boring that was, and also knowing how much he disliked those birds, decided to do what was suggested. Enough looking back, time to get me some food! The dragon said to no one in particular. He spotted a deer drinking out of a river. He dived down at the creature, but he made too much noise and the deer ran away. Gus grinned. He always enjoyed a good chase! Gus chased after the creature, catching up a little bit every second. Finally, he was right next to the deer. He slashed it's head off with his claws. Blood poured out, but Gus was not too concerned. He grabbed his kill and jumped back into the sky, looking for a nice clearing where he could eat and relax for the rest of the day. He found that pretty quickly. It was just the right size for him, and there was even a cave if he wanted to get out of the sun for awhile! As he flew down, he a strange smell crossed his nostrils. For a moment, he decided not to go down, but then he figured it was probably just some small animal that couldn't hurt him. Just to be careful, he flew into the trees that were just beyond the clearing, his back to the cave. Do you think the one with the sword attacked the other one? Cratos asked. He sniffed the air, No, they don't smell like any human I've ever met, He answered Artemis. While staring into the distance, Cratos saw a green dragon land in the trees. He noticed the dragon had a decapitated deer with him, with explained the scent of blood in the air. Looks like there one more unwanted visitor, Cratos informed Artemis,, nodding towards the tree.

Re: Mutual Feeling Artemis glared up at the sky from the dragon arriving at the scene, for she wasn't particularily fond of dragons, but she wasn't interested in picking a fight with one of the winged reptiles. She went over towards the forest and exclaimed, If you want your miserable lives to be spared, then I suggest you come out this instant! We know you're there!
One of the humans stumbled out of the brush, though it seemed like he was pushed out rather than walking out on his own free will. He was trembling, and he could barely stand on his gimp of a leg. "P-please don't hurt us!" he pleaded, falling to the ground. "We-we were only following orders!" Artemis heard a low "You idiot!" from the depths of the trees. Whose orders were you following? she demanded, taking a step forward which only resulted to making the human cower. IC: Solarae raced swiftly through the forest, following her nose. The scent of another dragon had crossed her nostrils as she was hunting, and as she got closer to investigate, it soon became clear who he was. Solarae darted through the trees, swerving and ducking quite neatly. Despite her claims that the forest really wasn't her place, it was obvious how well-suited to it she had become. A shimmer of green, more shiny than the leaves and shrubs, showed through the trees, and she caught several new scents as well. One was that of recently killed deer, which made her mouth water. The others were more interesting; humans, probably two, and gryphons, a scent Solarae had only caught once or twice before in her lifetime, and pretty early in her life too. Hey, Gus! Doin' anything? Have you smelled the gryphons or humans, yet? she exclaimed as she appeared in a clear space below Gus. Oh, don't look so surprised. I pretty much live here now, and it's you and Paconio's fault, she added with a grin. Re: Mutual Feeling Gus tore a leg off of his deer. He didn't exactly feel like listening to the strange animal's orders. Besides, he meant no harm whatsoever, and was just out to have a good time. Easy, easy. I just came around to have some fun, He called over his back. He wasn't exactly sure who the creature was speaking to, but he wasn't about to check, either. He had certainly improved on being more friendly, but when it came to following the orders of strangers, he seemed to be a bit too friendly, friendly enough to have an attitude about it.
Then, another scent crossed his nostrils. He tensed completely, ready to pounce on anything that moved. Then, seemingly out of nowhere appeared... Solarae! He sat back and grinned. What's new? He asked. Then, he said I'm guessing a gryphon is that creature. Then yes, I have. Didn't catch the humans. Gosh, you must have an amazing nose to sniff all of them out! Want some? Cratos looked back at the petrified human, Tell us who you are following, and we wont hurt you, he told the human seriously. When the other human spoke, Cratos glided towards him, and landed right behind him. He picked the human up by his shirt collar and threw him over towards Artemis. He walked through the bushes and stood next to Artemis, glaring down at the two humans. We'll ask again, who are you following?

"We were...there's this guy," the second man explained hastily after he had been tossed next to the other human, "and he paid good money to hunt down a gryphon. The more we caught, the more money we'd get!" "Yeah, we don't have enough to sustain our families!" the first man added. "Not after Galbatorix has been taxing us all!" Galbatorix... Artemis murmured. Never heard of him. As for your payer, I suggest you go back to show you caught nothing. We're not going to give ourselves up for your benefits, so I suggest you leave, before I decide to make mince-meat out of the two of you. The two men rushed off, yelling, and tripping over roots and rocks in order to get away from the gryphons. That's one crisis averted, she murmured to herself. Re: Mutual Feeling Solarae strode up to Gus and accepted the leg of deer with a smile. Well, I have to have good senses. Just have to. Probably from my fanghur blood, the really heightened smell. And thank you for the food, I was gettin' a little hungry, she replied, chewing on deer meat. She listened with interest to the raised voices beyond, toward the gryphons and humans. Obviously the gryphons were agitated, and soon their words reached Solarae. In a few more minutes, when the orange had almost finished her leg, the pair of unwitting humans stumbled into the clearing next to her. Hey dudes, she said, waving the half-eaten, bloody leg of deer in greeting. The shock on their faces stretched so much that she thought they would drop in faints, and finally they burst away, screaming as if an army of fire demons was after them. Hm. They're havin' a rough day. Well, I s'pose we should go talk to those gryphons, and see what all this is about, she said to Gus with a shrug.

Re: Mutual Feeling Gus listened closely as the humans were interrogated. He blankly nodded, absorbing every detail. Someone is hiring people to hunt gryphons? That seems fishy. He said to himself. He sat there, pondering who would hire someone to hunt gryphons. Not much you could get out of a dead body, some meat, and maybe a jacket, but nothing else.
Gus nodded at Solarae's suggestion. Shall we? He asked, getting up. Greetings! I remember, I think he's that human rider that dictates the land, he informed Artemis. He took a half step forward as the humans were running away, he glared at Artemis for scaring the humans away. What did you do that for? We didn't get to ask them why this guy is hunting gryphons! He said, his voiced raised. He looked over, still frowning, as the dragons came over to them. He was to distraught by the fact that some unknown man was hunting their species down for unknown reason to be respectful. Hello.

Re: Mutual Feeling Artemis would not about to admit that it probably would have been better if they waited to hear them out who their boss was, but then, Mis snapped, Well, they're obviously going to be coming back, if they're hunting gryphons! They know where I live now, and once they come back we may actually get to meet this boss of theirs! Mis sighed, trying to calm down. That was when she noticed that the two dragons from earlier had come down to greet them. Never mind, I suppose we can talk about it later...
Artemis turned to face the dragons head-on, and, with every ounce of her free will, she made a slight bow with her head. Hello, dragons. My name is Artemis, and I live here. What brings you to this spot in Du Weldenvarden? I think I kinda freaked 'em out a little sorry 'bout that, she said with a sheepish laugh. She grinned at the two gryphons. The male seemed friendly enough, but she couldn't help noticing the female's prickly greeting. My name's Solarae. Nice to meet you both. And if some low-down two-legs are hunting you, I'd be happy to help, she greeted with an elegant flourish of her fiery wings.

Re: Mutual Feeling Gus smiled politely at the gryphons. He did happen to notice a tiny bit of annoyance in Artemis's voice, though. He didn't bother pressing forward on the topic, knowing it would leave a bad first impression. My rider and I live pretty close to here, and he suggested I go do something fun while he stayed home and played with birds, Gus said, chuckling a little. When Solarae said that she would help hunt down the humans, Gus nodded quickly. I will too. Anything so I don't have to go home to a bunch of birds!
