 The Menoa Tree of Life
Does anyone else think that the twinge that Eragon felt in his lower abdomen when he took the Brightsteel could have been the elf-tree taking Eragon's seed? That would be an interesting twist and the child could have increased growth like Elva and be a formidable Rider or enemy. Also elf children have more power than adult elves. He certainly paid a price for the sword Brisingr. I thought that even though the 3rd book moved at a slower pace than the others, CP can afford to do that now that he has got us all hooked. ERAGON had to be wham bam, full of action, to be successful and make his name. But now CP can take us deeper into his fantasy world at his own pace. Brilliant, except now I have to wait for number 4. Anyone agree?

Re: The Menoa Tree of Life
the twinge may have been one of fear...I don't know..my younger bro's borrowing it from me so I can't look it up....but you could be right....I like how CP slows down and shows what happens in less then a months time...it makes it more interesting....and it can also give more sense of urgency....

Re: The Menoa Tree of Life
No, it was definitely a sharp pain, just after he told the elf tree that he would give her anything she wanted for the brightsteel. I hate it when my son is reading the same book as me at the same time. We keep on pinching it off each other and hiding it. Luckily he is back at uni just before i bought Brisingr, so I read it in peace. I agree that CP has got the pace just right, I just hate having to wait. I normally dont read books twice, but I might just read them again before book 4. I also liked the way CP put a synopsis of Eragon and Eldest at the beginning of Brisingr, as I needed a recap.

no, i think he had a stab of fear, i don't think the menoa tree has taken anything yet, i was wondering maybe after eragon kills galbatorics maybe the tree takes eragons mind as a replacement for the guy she loved. but i do like the theory about it taking eragons seed.
