It is appreciated but we all just fought a battle. No one is more important than another. Reb is a fighter." Star Gazer said before focusing on flight.
She herself was sporting a few wounds, minor though they were. She watched for signs of the cave closely. If one wasnt aware of its exsistence then they would never find it. Trees whooshed by at a steady pace until just a small opening, barely large enough for a horse-or so it appeared- rose up out of the ever steepening terrain. "Hold on tight my friends." Star Gazer warned. She rose up above the opening and then dove for it. She tucked her wings and legs around her body and let gravity bring her down. The tiny openning loomed closer and as they fell a cleft became visible. Star Gazer fell straight through the opening, scales scraping the rocks. Once inside the cave she threw her claws out and halted their fallby clinging to a rock wall. Carefully she bagan her decent, and after a few moments she set down upon the ground. Before she would settle down she found a tunnel in the dark and took it farther in the cave. Eventually yhe tunnel let out into a cavernous room big enough to be comfortable. |

It would be a terrible thing for me to sit back and let her suffer, just to save my own discomfort. Niliki, how are you at healing magic?" she asked the elf. She could use the plants around them to their advantage if she had to, but if he could wield the appropriate magic, then they could assure Reb's survival.
When Star Gazer started to freefall through the air, Darian grimaced and swallowed the bile rising in her throat from the uncomfortable sensation of her stomach lifting to her neck. She hunched down in the saddle and held the neck-spike in front of her with a death-grip, determined not to be sick or fall off when the falling stopped. Star Gazer jerked to a halt, her talons digging into the rock wall. Darian straightened and looked around her as the dragoness alighted upon the cave floor. It was too dark to see very well, but it looked to be a cave of respectable size. Re: Wolf Warriors Darian eyed the dark, sheer walls around them, looking for some way that the horses and wolves could reach them. Seeing nothing, she pulled a sealed pouch from one of the pockets inside her cloak. Unsealing the pouch, she picked up a dry stick of appropriate length and wrapped the oil-soaked cloth in the pouch around one end. Then, sending up sparks with a flint and one of her knives, she lit the cloth on fire. "Not that I need to tell y'all, but stay here. I'm going to take a look around," she said, flipping her knife into a reverse grip before setting off into the dark cave.
There appeared to be many tunnels leading off of the main cave Star Gazer had brought them to, but seeing as the others didn't have the time to look for her if she got lost, she refrained from exploring any of them. Re: Wolf Warriors Niliki left after Darian, leaving the pair to the healing. He listened to Darian's soft footsteps, this far from the forest his senses were sharp. He let Darian lead him into the exit cave. Smart girl. These caves were well known to him, Reb had brought him once, making sure to point out both entrances.
Niliki cocked his head to the side. A dull roar was coming from the tunnel they'd just left. It wasn't loud, and ended quickly. Niliki could have sworn it heated his skin a bit too. Reb was lost in a sea of pain. Her body no longer listened, her eyes felt as if they were sewn shut. Her arms delt weighed down by lead. She wasnt even sure she was awake. She groaned, the sound barely making itself heard. Star Gazer looked down at Reb sadly. Her rider was a patchwork of bruises, burns, cuts, gashes and scrapes. A small groan escaped Reb and Star Gazer couldnt stand it. She then did something unheard of, Star Gazer called upon her family for energy. The rush of power as it hit nearly blinded Star. Dragons everywhere answered her call. Roars filled her mind as each of them joined in. Moon, Terranor and every remaining mountain dragon filled Star Gazer's request for power until her scales glowed in the darkness. She lifted her head and gently lowered her nose to Reb's forehead. As scales and skin met, a blast of power went from one vessel to another. Light filled the caves, a blast sounding out. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Darian was a few feet from the threshold of the cave she was exploring when she noticed a light behind her was increasing in brightness and a rushing sound accompanied it. Confused, she turned and walked back to the entrance, leaning cautiously around a rock wall to get a look. What she saw was breathtaking.
Star Gazer's scales were glowing with power, the light radiating off of them bathed the rock around her with a pale glow that was steadily brightening with the more power the dragoness released. So great was the power the dark purple dragon was containing, Darian realized that the rushing sound she was hearing was that energy pouring from her. The spy's eyes widened with shock, then she pulled away from the cave entrance and looked at Niliki who was now standing beside her. "Oh you know, just another day in the company of a Rider and dragon," she said nonchalantly, her voice slightly awestruck. She leaned against the wall for a moment longer, then pushed off of it and walked on. "I can feel a slight breeze blowing in this tunnel. I don't suppose you know how far it is to the entrance? Re: Wolf Warriors Niliki burst out into quiet laughter. Indeed, being in the company of a rider pair as old as Star and Reb tended to leave one awestruck most of the time. He had been with them for years and had yet to grow accustomed to what they could do under stress. "If Lyssand follows Cobalt closely he will find himself here shortly. Reb's pets are aas old as she is. They will know the way in these caves outsiders wouldnt." Niliki replied.
Star Gazer was left shaking as the power surge receeded. As Reb's wounds healed Star thanked her friends and family, slowly letting each thread of power fall away. As each thread dropped the glow in the cave dimmed until only a small light was visible. Reb's once charred skin was pink with newness and she fair to glowed with strength. |

Re: Wolf Warriors "Good, I'm getting antsy. I'd rather have everybody here in one big group," she said, her sharp ears picking up the steady decrescendo of the noise behind them. She stopped and looked back over her shoulder. "Do you think we should go see how it went?" she asked. Surely if Star Gazer's attempt had failed they would hear her keening her grief to the world.

Re: Wolf Warriors Niliki nodded. "I have supreme confidence that Reb is fine now. Judging by th strength of the power surge, Id say we were in the presence of many dragons. If only for a little while." he replied before heading back towards the main cave.
Star Gazer stared down at Reb, a purr of satisfaction coming out of her. Her rider was saved. Star lay down beside Reb and layed a wing over her. She wasnt quite ready to wake her rider. She wished to give the power lighting up Reb's veins time to set. If Reb were to wake at that precice moment she would find herself on the verge of internal combustion. Yes, it was far better to let Reb sleep, and Star set a sleeping spell upon Reb to ensure that Reb didnt wake. The amount of power inside Reb waz fine while Reb was unaware of it, it could function without her control. But the power itself was so great, should Reb awaken and habitually check strength the power would be too imense. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Darian paused for a moment, the flickering torch held high over her head, pondering whether or not to ask what Niliki meant when he said there had been multiple dragons present in the cave for the surge of energy. After spending a moment in mental debate, she shook her head and decided against asking. She hurried after the blindfolded elf, surprised that he hadn't stumbled or something without her walking in front of him. I seriously need to stop underestimating him, she thought to herself.
Yes you should. Niliki may be a friend, but what if you start underestimating your enemies? a familiar voice chided. She smiled, embracing the familiar contact of her most constant companion. There you are. I was beginning to wonder if those Urgals and whatnot had caught up to and eaten the lot of you, she teased, feeling around for the general location of his mind. Best she could tell he was way up above their heads and slightly in front of them. I take it you're in a tunnel leading down to here? she asked. Top of your class in observation, weren't you? And no, we didn't see any unfriendly characters, though they were certainly making plenty of fuss behind us. Re: Wolf Warriors Niliki felt his way through the tunnel and smiled when it gave way to the main cave. He much preferred the open space to the enclosed tunnel.
Cobalt walked slowly, the familiar path a sight to his sore eyes. Reb's life force drew him like a moth to a flame. Ever since he became aware she was near he had been pushing at her mind for a reassuringmind meld. He had yet to recieve an answer. He shook his head and stomped his hooves, his worry tangeable. Shedo came close, her large black head rubbing his shoulder for comfort. She no doubt was also trying to get an answer. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Darian nodded, it wasn't uncommon for Urgals to vocally lament the loss of prey. She would have been more worried, perhaps, if the wolves and horses hadn't heard anything at all. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll get ensnared in one of the many strange things in this forest, she said hopefully. She felt Lyssand send a comforting thought to the group of four-legged critters around him. I take it they're worried about Reb? she asked, stepping back into the main cave.
Yes, but I think we'll be there soon, so no worries, the piebald responded. The spy slowly approached Star Gazer, she could see the dragoness was curled protectively around her Rider. Other than that, Darian could detect no behavior about her that suggested Reb was still in distresss. The blonde girl sighed in relief, then twirled a bit of water around her torch to put it out. Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer watched Darian and Niliki approach. She prummed before slowly moving her wing off of Reb. The glow was still there and it made Star doubke check the sleeping spell. She became aware of Cobalt and Shedo, sending them waves of reassurance.
Niliki heard the rustle of Star's wing shifting, and before he could even wish he could see Reb he felt Star Gazer merge with him. He slowly removed his cover and his eyes were assaulted with sights. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Darian heard the slight rustle of Star Gazer moving her wing and looked up from settling the oil-soaked rag into a pocket of her cloak. A faint glow brightened the gloomy cave, emanating from Reb's skin. The spy looked on in awe of the pure power radiating from the girl, then nodded and sighed in relief that her new-found friend would recover. Another, softer, rustling filled her ears and she looked over at Niliki who was removing the blindfold from around his strange eyes. She looked studiously away so as not to be caught in their strange power.
"She's deeper asleep than I would imagine she's slept in a very long time," she said softly, moving closer. Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer grinned. "She doesn't sleep willingly little one. The power giving her that lovely glow is to great for her to handle while awake. The equivalent of 15 dragon's healing her at once is running in her veins. Should she wake with it still strong she could be seriously injured, so I have sent her to sleep to let the power set itself."
Niliki smiled at Star before he moved to Reb. Reluctantly he lowered his hand to hover above her arm. He hesitated to actually touch her, but the need to make sure she was alright won out. His first touch on her made him hiss and jerk back. His fingertips tingled, a faint glow there for a second before fading away. He shook his hand before laying the whole palm upon her wrist.. |

Re: Wolf Warriors "That's my point," she said quietly. She watched Niliki hiss and twitch as he touched Reb's arm, the fingers on his hand glowing slightly. "Careful," she said to him, watching him lay his palm fully on her arm. "How long do you think it will take for all of that to calm down?" she asked, gesturing at the Rider's glowing skin. Now that she was closer to Reb, she could feel a slight pulse in the air. The rushing sounds was gone, but in it's place a slight throbbing had appeared, pulsing against her and making her teeth of all things feel like they were vibrating in her jaw.

She gently laid her head beside Reb. Her soul's heartbeat was strong, the blood flowing true in her veins. She closed her eyes, letting the rhythem of Reb's life lull her into peace. Niliki pat Star's nose as she laid next to Reb. He lifted his other hand and watched the glow throb in his palm. Instinctively he flexed his fingers, trying to shake the power from him. Once the glow dimmed further he moved his hand to her face. In sleep, Reb was almost innocent. One could imagine Reb was actually the seventeen years she appeared. One could almost see her living a normal life, until you reached the scars with your eyes. They were nothing more than slight raises to her pale skin, but they gave proof that in life, one never stayed young. Cobalt lowered his head to the ground his ears alerting him to changes in the path. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Darian watched Niliki and Star Gazer for a moment longer, then quietly walked away to let them have a private moment with Reb. She sat on the ground twenty feet away and leaned back against the wall, staring up at the ceiling while she waited for Lyssand and the others to reach them. Before long she could make out the light clopping of hooves on stone, but knowing how sound tended to travel in caves, she judged they were still a good distance away.

Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer listened to The young woman's concerns and smiled. That would be most unfortunent of an even, but should they follow them we will be ready. Besides, Shedo is a stealthy adversary and it would be rare indeed for an enemy tail to be missed by her. She has been wit Reb as long if not longer than I. Star Gazer replied. Her eyes shifted down to her rider, and with satisfaction she noted the slow leak of light that drained and settled to powers within her even more so than before. It would not be long before Reb awakened.

She looked down at the Rider and watched the light fading from her skin. From Star Gazer's reaction, the spy didn't think the Rider would be asleep much longer. She watched for a bit, looking up once when she heard a loose stone further in the cave knock against the rock wall, squinting to see what had disturbed it. Before she could discern anything, she was distracted by the arrival of the wolves and horses.
She turned to Lyssand and walked to him, throwing her arms around his black and white neck. I missed you, she said silently, burying her face in his mane. Even though she had been able to talk with him for the last few minutes, it still made her feel better to have him within her sight. The little piebald horse snorted and hooked his head around her torso, pulling her to his chest in his kind of hug. Re: Wolf Warriors Coming awake was a slow burn. Reb's mind turned on piece by piece, aware that the whole wasn't together as it should be. Her mind whirred the farther aware it was, and after a bit Reb noticed a disconnetion to her body that wasn't natural. It was like she was floating, while her body was nailed to the ground. The pain was at least the equivalent of such. Her body was on fire in certain places and not responding in others.
Only years of training kept her from flipping out. She breathed deeply and let her mind wander until she became aware of all around her. She felt cool at her back, and pain at her front. Her skin was hot to the point of burning, and her mind was in chaos from the anit-connection with her physical self. Sanity told her that she had taken extensive damange while insanity screamed to panic. All in all it was a crappy way to wake up. Star Gazer's eyes flew wide as she sensed a life force joining them from afar. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Darian thought she heard Reb stir and turned from where she had hugged Lyssand to look at the Rider. She might have been imagining it, but it seemed like Reb's features had settled into a grimace of discomfort. She was about to ask Star if she could sense anything from her partner's mind when the dragoness shifted as if she had heard something. Darian straightened, her senses on high alert. Just because she had not heard it didn't mean there wasn't something there. She was all too aware of how superior Star's senses were to her own.
"What is it?" she asked softly, her voice less than a whisper. IC: Zantya cried out as she was slammed to the earth, her bones rattling from the force. Traveling by magic-an impossibility many hadn't yet accepted- hurt! When learning the many lessons to the whole, never once did they tell you of the pain when you land. Zantya groaned as she pushed up onto her hands. She shook her light locks out of her face and stared around the forest. Creepy didn't even begin to describe what she thought of the massive trees, the dark interior scary to the point of passing out. She laughed at that ridiculous thought and then took inventory of her body. Surprisingly she was intact, no broken bones to be had. Darn that blasted travel! The fact that she hadn't been far away when she used her magic was probably the only thing that had kept her from bodily harm. Carefully Zantya stood up, dusting herself off as she went. Reb was near, she could feel it. Ever since their split, Zantya was always aware of where her other half was. It was as if they were twins, but polar opposites. Where Reb was tall, strong, harsh and mean, Zantya was small, resilient, soft spoken and sweet. Regardless of who they had become, Zantya still felt as if they were one. When Star Gazer had sent out her call for power Zantya's heart had stilled. Reb was injured, and gravely. She couldn't sit by and wait for news of her other half. She had had to come for herself. The results of her actions would cause her grief that even Galbatorix couldn't fathom. When her dragon found out that she had deserted their post in a small town-located somewhere to the south- without telling her, Zantya was sure to feel the wrath only a Mountain Dragon could come up with. Not to mention the grief Star Gazer would give her. Sadly Star Gazer's very own younger sister was bonded to Zantya. Star and Moon were close. Star would no doubt rip her apart for leaving her heart of hearts without a word. Dragons are scary no doubt, but her true fear is the reaction she would get from her dearest husband. The very one she left alone on his bed. Oh, and the fact that she was pregnant wouldn't be in her favor. Zantya gave a big sigh. She wasn't feeling so good about her decision at the moment. Fear for Reb kept her going forwards. She was determined to find this cave she knew them to hide in frequently. Having been with Star and Reb for a long time, it took her very little time to find the entrance and begin her decent. Star Gazer growled. That little crazy! |

Lyssand snorted and lowered his head, his ears moving slower now. He leaned against Darian until she started rubbing between his ears. Someone is coming, that is all. I think Star Gazer must know whoever it is, he said to Darian, his eyes closing lazily as the spy's fingernails raked over a particularly itchy spot. "Oh is that all?" Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer growled softly. It isn't an enemy, of that I am sure. It a friend, a rather stupid one, but a friend all the same. If you will please exscuse me I must go rescue the stupid one before she kills herself, my sister, and her unborn child. Star Gazer didn't wait for a reply before she lunged out of their little cave and back into the vast drop off from the surface. She jumped upwards, her massive claws scrapping the rocks and shards as she climbed quickly upwards, her large body undulating like a serpent's would.
Zantya cried out as the sharp rocks cut her poor hands to pieces, the abyiss below her reminding her that she was mortal. Should she slip, the fall to the bottom would be fast and cruel as it smashed her upon the bottom. She paled a little at the thought before she closed her eyes and pushed herself as close to the rocks as her belly would allow. She wished she knew what lay at the bottom so she could just travel there, but the unknown was worse than the possible fall. For what seemed like hours Zantya crawled down the rock wall of sorts, although it was really only a few moments, when she became aware of a small noise that grew steadily. It sounded like claws on stone, and as soon as the thought reached her she became aware of Star Gazer. The scales glinted in what little light filtered through the hole at the top. Zantya wished to scream her joy at Star Gazer but the dragoness was throwing off waves of anger that she would be a fool to ignore. As soon as it was possible, Zantya found an outcropping in the wall and sat to wait for Star Gazer to reach her. It didn't take long, and one look at her old heart of hearts and she remained silent. The large black head was the first thing to come into her line of sight, the tail twitching impatiently in the background. Zantya smiled and waved but a growl had her dropping her hand quickly. She sighed and climbed over Star's head and down her back to sit loosly between two spikes on her back. She used her belt to strap her legs to a spike and then patted Star to let her know she was ready. A gasp of surprise came out of her as Star did a backflip into the abyss and let gravity take them down, and once they reached so far down, Star Gazer let her wings catch and they floated softly to the ground. Without a word Star folded her wings and walked farther into the dark and then eventually into a cave. Light reached her as did the sight of four horses and three people, one on the ground. |

Before long that was a clattering of small rocks falling from where Star had been climbing, and then the dragoness thudded into sight, a passenger on her back. Despite knowing that Star would never allow anyone on her back that was an enemy of Reb's, Darian still stepped protectively in front of her friend, eyeing the newcomer. Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer heard Darian but before she got the chance to reply, Zantya squealed and slid off of her back. Star Gazer rolled her eyes as the heavily pregnant woman ran(or rather waddled) towards Reb. Her calculating eyes didn't miss anything, and therefore before the obviously protective Darian attacked the obviously oblivious Zantya she growled softly at Zantya. This is Zantya, Reb's other half. They may look different but you are staring at the manifestation of one person into two.
She then plopped down onto the ground with her wings folded against her. There was no use in stopping Zantya. The crazed lunatic was focused wholly on Reb. Her distraction would leave Star plenty of time to reveal where Zantya was to her husband and Moon. Zantya pushed past the other woman and stared down at Reb. Her first thought was how ridiculously angry she was. Reb laid before her with nary a scratch on her pretty head. Zantya's facial expression changed from joy to seeing Reb, to wanting to throttle her. "How dare you take such a risk! I should skewer you where you lay you uncaring beast! I risked my unborn child because I thought you were mortally wounded and near to death!" After her rant Zantya looked down at Reb expectantly only to be disappointed by the lack of response. She gave a heafty sigh before landing softly on the ground beside Reb. She shook her head. |

Ow?" she said, picking herself up from the ground, brushing dust and grit from her palms and clothes where she had landed. She eyed Zantya warily, even waddling as she had been, she had been upon the spy before she realized it, and she was on the ground the next second. "What can she do for Reb that hasn't already been done?" Darian asked, looking at Star. With as deep a bond as the one that existed between Rider and dragon, the blonde spy couldn't see how anyone could do more for her than the blackish-purple dragoness could.
"Yes, I'd like to know that myself, they're obviously not twins," Liam said, leaning casually against the wall. Vix was settled comfortably across his shoulders, her tail draping from behind his neck and over the front of his left shoulder. Her tiny golden head peered curiously out from behind his right ear. Fin was curled up on a rocky ledge he had created, his back turned to the group while he pretended to be asleep. OOC: Lol, I missed these guys. Re: Wolf Warriors Fin looked up from his rock ledge, flicking his tongue lazily at Star Gazer. Easy cupcake, nobody is your enemy here, he said, looking at her with disdain. Impudently, he turned his head away from the much larger dragoness and placed his head back on his forepaws.
Liam frowned at the tiny black dragonette. "Way to endear us to their hearts Fin," he chided. He looked back at the group. "That is as I said, you are obviously not her twin. I'm interested to know, what magic split the two of you apart?" the black-haired elf said, peering at the woman shrewdly. He felt Vix stir on his shoulder and he turned to watch as she leaped lightly off of his shoulder and spiraled through the air, darting neatly passed the purple-black dragoness to land on the chest of the woman lying down. She started glowing softly, cocking her head to each side as she studied her face. What happened to her? I can sense she's been ill, severely so, but she's better now, she asked the group at large, though she looked up at Star, her golden eyes gleaming with power in the dark cave. Darian looked on stiffly from the background, eyeing the newcomers. She didn't at all like how easily she had been snuck up on and surprised twice in the span of a few minutes. Her instinct was to throw a shuriken at the golden creature when it flew towards Reb, but something also told her it was alright, so she remained still and watched closely. They are dragonettes Darian, you have nothing to fear from them, Lyssand said, snorting with amusement. I know not of you little one, why should I tell you the reasoning behind my rider's being? I'd kill you in a heartbeat to keep her safe so think before you demand answers of me that are mine to keep from you should I so choose. You are lucky that dear Darian has the same question or I would indeed tell you nothing!
Star turned to Reb and Zantya ready to answer Darian but adressed the beast upon Reb first. My Rider is hurt because of a confrontation with an ancient Shade called Letheona. That Shade posseses a sword that drains life force with every injury it inflicts. As the life blood drains so does energy. Now this sword happens to be the very sword that took Zantya's life. When Reb was but 15 year old she was possesed by a shade's spirits which made up Zantya. They became one after that an shared the same body. Letheona is Zantya's sister and in an epic battle between the two of them Letheona killed Zantya which in turn killed me. My mate saved me and I was then severed from Zantya(she was my rider not Reb until they joined and then they were both my rider) an tied to Reb. Reb was left with the bad souls excluding her own good soul and Zantya left with the good soul. Later on Eu'am found Zantya's spirit which led her to finding her new body. Hence the two halves of the same whole. In essence Reb was cursed as a half shade and Zantya is now the blessed rider of a dragon without any evil shade left. Niliki figured he was the only one not digesting those words. He knew Reb's history and knew more than what Star had just revealed. "Just so you know, Reb isnt grumpy and the way she is by choice. She fights herself and he risisual darkness constantly. " [/color] |

I can feel the healing you and others laid upon her, but what she needs now is mental healing from that struggle. That skill is not one I possess, she said, frowning in frustration. She didn't like being able to sense where healing was needed and not be able to do what was required. It went entirely against the instincts that came with being a Light-attribute dragonette. She curled up moodily on the Rider's chest, curling her tail and neck until her head was resting on her tail, her eyes peeping up at everyone. She hummed softly where she lay, her tiny body vibrating ever so slightly.
"Easy Lady Dragon, I am an elf, your friend. I would no more hurt your Rider than I would hurt Fin or Vix. You might not recognize what sort of beings they are, but I can see the horse over there does," he said, nodding at Lyssand, "I will tell you of them, however. They are dragonettes, does that ring a bell? I'll be much surprised if it does. Their entire race wiped any memory of their existence away from any who would seek their power for ill. When they do choose someone for a companion, it is not done lightly, much like a dragon chooses their Rider, except our souls are not joined, and they are free to leave me at any time. Darian mulled over Star's words, trying to figure out the complicated history of the Rider. "That I can now see, Niliki," she said, nodding in agreement. She looked up at the new elf's words, eyeing the black creature laying on the wall. "Dragonettes you say? Well that ties in with what Lyssand told me, but don't think you're in the clear yet. I'll be watching you, elf," she said, cocking her head, looking him up and down. [b]Dense he may be, but Liam does not lie. He's telling the truth about us, Fin offered from where he had his back turned. He sent a dizzying flurry of images through the group's linked minds, making sure they only caught enough of the story to know the bare history of his race and life. Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer shook her massive head. I care very little what race you are small elf. Enemies can come from anywhere. We just escaped an elf who claimed to be a friend and then tried to kill us with his childish dragon. So think not of me as rude to ignore your words and wait to see for myself whether or not I can call you a friend. She finished those words with a definate thump of her tail before turning her attention to Reb. Star Gazer decided it was high time the lazy bones woke up.
She reached out with her mind and found that familiar connection with Reb, her mind entering Reb's without any effort on either of their parts. Little one, it is time to wake. The group around you grows large, and is sure to get even bigger. I cannot handle having you out of it so please rise. Star Gazer waited for a reply for what seemed ages before she sensed Reb's mind opening as a flower would to the morning sun. Little by little Reb woke up-mentally for now- and stirred to life for Star to sense. "I resent this little creature saying I am mentally ill, Star. Though it is kind of cute to be sure. Thank you for healing me Star Gazer. I feel much better truly. Should I wait to open my eyes or should I reveal that you have rudely interupted my sleep?". Star Gazer laughed aloud giving Reb the silent signal to rise. Reb's eyes fluttered before shooting open to stare at the small thing upon her chest. "Well little one, do you mind getting off my chest? Oh, and I am not mentally ill thank you very much. I prefer the term mentally troubled." |

Re: Wolf Warriors Liam shrugged at Star's words. "Whatever pleases you, though no true elf would harm a dragon. The one you speak of is a traitor to his kind, I am sure," he replied. He noticed Vix shifting on the chest of the Rider and he glanced at her, arching his eyebrows.
She's waking up, I can feel it. I think Star Gazer must have had her under a sleeping spell or something, and it's gone now, the tiny gold dragonette said in explanation. When she felt the Rider's life energy pulse to the brightest it had been since she had entered the cave, she turned her head and chirped. Maybe you prefer that term, but to a Healer who can sense your pain, you are ill, she said matter-of-factly. She stood and walked down the Rider's body until she was draped over her legs, turned a few circles, then sat back down with her tail curled loosely around her paws. She looked up into the Rider's face, her eyes bright. Pleased to meet you Reb, Rider of Star Gazer. I am Vix, daughter of the dragonette queen Belnora. The surly black one over there is my brother, Fin. The elf is our chosen companion, Liam, she said happily. Watch who you're calling surly, Fin growled, twitching his tail. A small pebble shot through the air, aimed at Vix's back, but before it could connect a shield of golden light appeared behind her and deflected the attack. Star Gazer, I know of these creatures. They are much like dragons in their ways and behaviors, but I can't recall any corrupt ones. If they trust this Liam, he must be a valuable ally to have, Lyssand said, curiously snuffling snouts with the dappled grey stallion that had accompanied Liam and the dragonettes. Well not to sound coy, but if the horse trusts him, so should we, Darian offered. She had never seen Lyssand be wrong in his judgment of someone. Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer shook her head at the silliness of them all and turned her attention to her rider. She stood up, her tail sweeping the ground before picking Reb up off of the floor and lifting her to eye level. Star Gazer took her time looking over Reb, her old gaze missing nothing. There was no sign of the previous battle upon the skin of her rider. Not even the burnt flesh remained.
Reb smiled at Star Gazer as her dragon looked her over to assure herself Reb was healed. Reb waited for about two or three minutes before she couldn't resist wrapping her arms around Star's face. She hugged what she could managed to grab to her chest tightly, which was about the equivalent of one nostril. Star's face was in reality far to large to hug but Reb didn't care. She hugged her anyways. Star prummed before setting Reb back to the ground. Her rider was safe and back in commision. She didn't have to worry quite so much now. Reb shook herself and then turned to the new comers before looking at Darian. "Eh, I guess we can trust them. If not we shall simply kill them. " Reb believed Darian as much as Darian believed Lyssand. "As for the little dragons, I shall reserve judgement on the black one, but the female is rather adorable." Reb commented before leaning down the look at the creature where she had fallen from Reb's legs as Star lifted her into the air. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Vix grumbled with distaste and caught herself as she tumbled from Reb's lap. She landed on the ground with a slight bump that sent dust swirling up around her scales. Shaking vigorously to rid the particles from her scintillating hide, she looked up at Reb and trilled prettily when the Rider complimented her. Don't worry about that, most people leave with that opinion of Fin after their first encounter with him, she laughed, taking off neatly. She swooped and swirled through the air for a minute, then came to rest on Star Gazer's head. Her golden scales were a stark contrast to Star Gazer's black-purple, making it look like the dragoness was wearing a tiny crown.
What are we going to do now though? We know there was some sort of disturbance in the forest earlier. I assume that was you lot? she asked, curling up again. She directed her question at the other female, Darian. Her tiny golden eyes pierced the spy with an air as regal as any her mother could summon in her council rooms. Darian cocked an eyebrow at the tiny gold creature's air, looked sideways at Lyssand, and tried not to laugh. "Well, yeah, you would be right in assuming that. It's where Reb got hurt,[/i] she said, pointing straight-faced at the Rider. Not to state the obvious, of course, Fin said, sensing Darian's withheld mirth. He shifted on his ledge, and a trickle of tiny pebbles and dirt fell from the ceiling and slid down the collar of Reb's shirt. He glanced over at Liam, and saw the elf glaring murderously at him. Oh come on! I don't always have a hand in it when a piece of dirt moves! he said sharply, his tail whipping from side to side and his tiny obsidian eyes flashing. A sharp pop echoed around the room as a crack formed under Liam's feet. Liam looked between his feet, then back up at the black dragonette. "Of course you don't," he said dryly. He turned away from Fin and looked up at Reb and her towering dragon. Re: Wolf Warriors Star Gazer looked to Reb and decided to let her rider answer for the two of them. She prummed deeply, shaking the sweet creature on her head, but not knocking her off, or even rattling her balance. Star sat up straight, well as straight as the cave would allow, and wrapped her tail around her legs.
Reb watched Star before turning to Liam. "Well the answer to that is actually rather obvious. Now that I am back to full rider status WE are all going to get out of here, no matter what kind of fight must go down." Reb replied. Zantya had watched all of this patiently before she decided it was high time she exploded. " HOW DARE YOU!!!! You purposely fought a fight you knew was hard to win, nearly died and have suddenly come back just so you can do it all over again?!!!!! That is dumb Reb." Zantya spewed violently while pacing back and forth. She continued to babble but her words ran together until it was just one coherent rant. Niliki listened to Reb's answer and completely agreed. They all needed to get out of this cave as soon as possible before the enemy blocked their escape and their fight would be in the confines of a very small, well small for a dragon, cave. He was about to announce his approval of that plan, but before he could the small woman Zantya let out a vicious rant he could barely understood. From what he gathered, Zantya was upset with Reb for risking her life, which he found humorous concidering Zantya was heavily pregnant and a rider as well. "I hate to be the one to point this out but Reb fought a good fight and was at good health. You just scaled a massive wall while heavily pregnant. Reb isn't the dumb one from where I stand." Zantya whirled to glare at Niliki. " I don't believe I asked your opinion now did I. " Niliki just shrugged. " No you didn't but yelling at Reb for being dumb when you yourself are not the paragon of genius seems a bit ironic don't you think?" |

Re: Wolf Warriors Liam flinched and looked at the pregnant woman, Zantya, with a look reminiscent of an owl with ruffled feathers. His eyes wide, he watched the mother-to-be loose an impressive tirade against her other half. She was quietly shut down by the other elf in the room, Niliki. He had been so quiet Liam had almost forgotten he was there. "It might be possible to get out of here without a fight, though I can't promise anything," Liam said loudly, over the commotion. He flicked a finger at Fin. "In case you didn't notice, Fin has quite the talent with moving rocks. He can make us a tunnel out of here, if we can get close enough to the outer wall of the cave system," he said, then paused and looked at Star. "I don't know if he'll be able to make it big enough for you to accompany us," he said hesitantly, sizing up the ancient dragoness.
HE, Fin said, placing an annoyed emphasis on the word, does not appreciate being talked about as if he is not in the room. And he couldn't possibly make a tunnel through all of this rock big enough to even have the dragon squeeze through. However, I can make one that will take the rest of us. Star Gazer will just have to wait outside, or in here until we call. He stood up languidly, his tiny claws scratching his perch as he stretched. He held up a tiny paw and showed the group a piece of stone he had pierced with his talon. See that? That's granite. It's kind of like me. Stubborn, doesn't like to be disturbed, and mischief just waiting to happen. That's going to be what I'm knocking out of the way. I expect much praise and a lot of food when we get out of here, he said, sniffing disdainfully. Darian listened to the black dragonette's monologue, and had to turn her laughter into a coughing fit when he was done. She couldn't believe two such tiny creatures could be so prideful and demand such attention. She saw the aggrieved look on Liam's face, and thought she knew why he was wearing it, although she suspected the tiny gold was less of a reason for it. "You mean you couldn't make it big enough even if one of us supplied the energy for it?" she asked the black. From what she knew of magic and abilities like his, she assumed it was the lack of sufficient energy resources within his body that was stopping him from attempting it. No, if one of you tried to supply that energy, we'd still not get through. Star couldn't even do it, she'd burn him out, Vix said. She had seen her brother wear himself out more times than she could count from using his gift. Our gifts aren't magical, they're more like a muscle. And muscles can be strained or torn. His is a physical gift, which puts him at that much more of a risk for being burned out, unlike myself, she said, holding out a paw. An orb of light formed over her paw, twirled around her ivory talons for a moment, then faded away. Light is insubstantial, and requires very little energy to manipulate, for dragonettes anyway, she said, shrugging after giving her little mini-lesson in dragonette abilities. No, our best chance is to do what he suggested. Get as close to the outer wall as we can, then start trying to break through. Re: Wolf Warriors Reb listened to the plan before shaking her head. "I go no where without Star Gazer. If she can't fit then neither can I. Ya'll may go, and take Zantya with you. Her dragon Moon shall be here in a moment to pick her up, as will her husband and his dragon. Eu'am will no doubt wish to fight along side Star and I, so we will be much safer with a White Knight/rider than should we actually be alone."
Star Gazer looked at her rider as if to argue, then let the matter go. She knew she would feel the same if Reb was to be left unprotected. |

While you may not really be in any shape to fight, I'm pretty sure your dragon is sufficient to protect you, I see no reason to hog-tie you and drag you with us, he said, licking his talon where it had grit on it from the rock he had speared with it. When it was clean to his liking, he stood up lazily and fell forward off of his rock ledge, spreading his wings a few feet from the ground and soaring up to the roof of the cave. He circled a few times, surveying their group, then swooped down and landed beside one of the rocky tunnels. We'll go this way first, he said, looking at them all with his beady black eyes.
Liam looked at Vix, still seated on Star Gazer's head. "Are you staying or going? We may need your healing abilities, and your light-casting would definitely be useful," he asked her. Vix trilled at him, then walked down Star's face, taking off from her nose. She landed gently on the elf's shoulder and preened. I'm coming of course, she said, half-way closing her eyes so she could discreetly eye the pregnant woman. If Zantya was going, there was no way she was staying here. She was too heavily pregnant not to have a skilled healer around while she wandered through caves, not that she should be in dark, dank caves in her condition in the first place. "Fin seems confident enough that the two of you will be alright on your own, but are you sure you'll be fine once you get outside of the caves?" Star Gazer could hear them as well. The scraping of claws was loud to her ears, and soon Moon dropped down into view. She was smaller than Star , but still as powerful. She was the blooded princess to the same Mountain population that called Star their queen. Moon was bright white, her scales shocking in their color pattern. Her wing span impressive, but not overly amazing. All in all she was a lithe dragon, and Star Gazer was duly impressed with the speed in which Moon made it from the top to bottom of the cave. Then again, one didn't fool around when one's rider was in trouble. Hello sister, it is an honor to see you again. Star prummed before bowing low to her sister. Hello my dear queen and sister. I do believe you have something of great value to me. Where is my little lunatic? Moon bowed as well, but her whole focus wasn't on Star Gazer. Her eyes searched the cave wildly for Zantya before settling on the obviously pregnant figure. Her upper lip curled into a snarl that revealed all of her teeth. You have some explaining to do little one. She looked to her rider with annoyance, but love at the same time. She had been worried sich since Zantya came up missing. She too had felt the danger that Star and Reb faced, but unlike her little lunatic she hadn't rushed head long into danger, and she wasn't even the pregnant one! Moon shook her head before looking around her for the first time. She had been aware since landing that there had been others in the cave, a dragon was never so fully occupied that they weren't aware of their surroundings. Two elvish creatures, one could be a human but she wasn't knit picking, and Niliki occupied the cave. Along with them were a whole slew of creatures and two dragonettes. Not your everyday house pet but still moody, obnoxious beasts. She inclined her head to her audience. Hello. |

Re: Wolf Warriors I wouldn't go so far as to say you could fight like you may normally do, but yes, Reb, you are capable of taking care of yourself in a minor altercation, Vix said, looking at Darian with her tiny golden eyes, trying to placate the spy. If we hurry, we can reach them before they have time to find trouble, she said to the spy. She blinked when the blonde haired girl looked at her and frowned. I can sense emotions, it's part of the healing thing. I can tell you're worried about her, she said simply.
Great, now the little critter can basically read my mind, even when it's closed off, Darian said privately to Lyssand, her voice dry. "Fine, I may not think you're up to scratch, but I know Star wouldn't let anything eat you. If it did, she'd reach down it's throat and pull you back out again. If we're really going, we should go now," she said, looking up towards the clattering sounds from above. Before long another dragoness dropped into the midst of their group, this one a startling white. Darian assumed this must be Zantya's bonded dragon, from the peeved look she gave the pregnant woman. "I think you're in trouble," she whispered to the woman. Fin swatted his tail against the ground in annoyance. He had heard the new dragon call his kind "obnoxious beasts" just as she opened her mind. I heard that, and dragons aren't much to call other beings obnoxious, he grumbled, staring up at her, totally unafraid. Liam had heard Moon's words as well and had to hide a smile behind his hand at Fin's words. He loved dragons as much as the next elf, but even he had to admit the black dragonette had a point. Stepping forward to avert his tiny friend's next, ruder comment, he introduced the unknown members of the group. "Greetings Moon, I am Liam. My companions are the golden dragonette Vix and her brother, the black dragonette Fin. The blonde with the tendency to slap you with water is Darian, and her faithful steed Lyssand. I think you know the rest," he said, smiling up at the dragoness. Vix whistled and twirled through the air, landing on Liam's shoulder again when he called her name. Re: Wolf Warriors Reb was half amused, half offended. She was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. "I am perfectly capable thank you very much, and Star Gazer has reached down one to many throats for my taste. I will never forget what the inside of a dragon feels like." Reb laughed, only partly kidding.
She climbed upon Star Gazer, the motions automatic. She had performed the acts for so long, Reb was detached and unaware of the motions, she just acted. She trusted her dragon wholly. Star Gazer launched herself upwards, her tallons digging deep into the rocks as she climbed towards the surface. Zantya IS in trouble, but I am unable to act upon my anger at this moment. She must go with you, and I must go with Star. She may be pregnant, but Zantya is strong, and powerful. Do not hesistate to take advantage of that. Moon nodded once at the group on the ground before going after Star Gazer. Eu'am looked at his wife with love in his eyes. "I have just found you, but must go again. Be safe my love." A man of few words, he wasted no time in climbing upon his dragon. The two launched in the air after the other dragons. Niliki drew his sword, he knew that as soon as they went back into the forrest, his senses would be dulled by it. He took a deep breath to brace himself and then began to walk. |

He irritably spat a ball of black fire at her, not even caring that it missed. Before Vix can attack me again, is this everyone? Yes? Good, let's go, he grumbled, walking towards the wall. He slowed a few feet in front of it, then the rock simply melted away, creating a doorway into one of the other tunnels.
"This shouldn't take very long, provided we just walk straight out and aren't forced to take any detours," Liam promised Zantya, taking it upon himself to be her right-hand man until they were out of the caves. "That's good, because these musty old caverns were starting to get crowded," Darian said, staring at the hole the black dragonette had basically willed into existence. She walked through the entrance, stopping briefly to run her hand over the smooth side of the hole. It felt like the rock had been melted and then molded to create it, so smooth were the sides. Dropping her hand back to her side she moved out of the way so that Lyssand and Ranor could follow her through. Re: Wolf Warriors Now that she was alone to herself as Star climbed, Reb admitted if only for a second that she wasn't as strong as she had been before Leth had gotten to her with that cursed blade!
She wasn't feeling weak, just aware of the fact that she wasn't at her highest level of ability. To distract herself, she listened to the area around the cave entrance, trying to find anything different than when they went in, or anything that gave off an aura of danger. Zantya smiled at the elf, but mentally groaned. She appreciated the gesture, but concidering she had managed to climb down a cave alone, she figured walking through the cave wouldn't prove to great a challenge. She was a tough pregnant lady. She was realistic though, and knew the risks she took were dumb, and would probably haunt her for a few years to come. Her humor, ever near her heart, decided to rear its ugly head. She now began to think of how humorous a story it would be to tell her child many years down the road. " Oh look child, your mother managed to climb down this all alone while heavily pregnant with you. She is somewhat of a badass don't you think?" Niliki secretly wished they could avoid the forest all together. He was a skilled warrior but that forest would be the death of him. It messed with his ability to ''see'' his surroundings or any potential threat. He would soon be relying soley on the vision of his beloved horses. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Vix followed behind the others for a time, swooping through the holes her brother made in the rocky walls and lighting the way for the others with her sparkling golden scales. After a time she got bored of flying endlessly and looped around to land on Zantya's shoulder. Do you have any idea when you're due? she asked, chirping curiously at her round tummy.
Vix's words had broadcasted to the entire group and Darian glanced sideways at the newest member of the group. From the size of her belly, Darian felt like it couldn't be too much longer, but she had never been very good at judging such things. She felt a twinge of apprehension when it occurred to her that the baby might try to come while they were still walking through the dark mountain. Re: Wolf Warriors Zantya laughed at the small creature. "Pregnancy isn't an exact science, so no I do not know the exact date, though if I had to calculate it is either this month or the next." She pat the adorable creature on the head, and then concentrated on walking. She knew how dire the situation was because of her pregnancy, but she refused to dwell on it. No one wanted the kid to pop out anytime within the next few days. That would surely put a cramp on their fighting.
Niliki shook his head. Zantya should never have come. If she gave birth within the next day, their whole fight would be stranded, and left to defend rather than attack. He prayed for God to keep the child where it was. Reb withdrew her sword as Star Gazer climbed the last few feet to the surface. She felt the muscles coil as Star Gazer waited for the others to catch up before she launched into the sky, therefore giving all semblance of surprise up. The plan was to lure the army away from those on the ground, and finish the fight. The sound of Moon and her mate climbing right behind Star Gazer was all the signal needed. The black dragoness launched out of the cave, unfurling her wings as soon as they were clear of the entrance. She shot skyward, spinning as she went, trying to make it to cloud cover before they were seen. |

"Vix, stop that. I'm sure the last thing Zantya wants is you standing on her belly and poking it, she's probably uncomfortable enough as it is," Liam said sharply. He made shooing gestures with his arms, knowing full well that the dragonette wouldn't move unless she wanted to. Yes Vix, quit making an absolute nuisance of yourself, Fin said irritably, melting away another wall. "Let's just hope she can hold it in til we get away from here and leave it at that," Darian murmured, not really intending for anyone else to hear. Lyssand whickered softly in amusement and agreement. I don't think you have to worry Darian. A mother is a wise creature, and she knows her own body. If she says a month or more, then it's a month or more, Lyssand said for everyone to hear to stop the worrying. "This little creature will not make me uncomfortable. I ride a dragon while pregnant, a little poking will not have my child popping out." Zantya laughed at their horrified expressions. "I must say, you need to experience pregnancy. Delicate like a flower? Ha! More like angrier than a bear. You are moody, hungry and utterly exhausted all day long. I'm as delicate as a stampedeing horse. Remember that." Niliki laughed before scooping Zantya up and setting her atop Beauty. The small mare was short enough that Zantya's head wouldn't hit any of the low hanging rocks. He didn't doubt that she thought she was strong enough, but the last thing they needed was for Zantya to trip on a rock and fall. Reb would kill him. Litterally. |

Re: Wolf Warriors Vix trilled brightly, her version of laughter. There, you see? I'm not bothering her, she said, insolently flicking her barbed tongue at Liam. She tilted her head to the side and listened as her brother stalked forward to make another doorway. I'm not sure, but I think the wind is louder here. We're getting close to the outer wall, she said to the group, still listening.
Darian chuckled at Zantya's words, watching as Niliki swept her off of her feet and set her on the back of his horse. "It wouldn't surprise me if we were, little dragonette. We've been walking for a goodly amount of time and with your brother opening the ways for us, it shouldn't have taken as long as it would have it we'd had to trek through the tunnels," she told the golden female. "You'll be reunited with your dragon before long, and we can all get out of these musty smelling caves with their weird sounds. Re: Wolf Warriors Reb's eyes protested at the quickly changing light, but she ignored the pinpricks of pain. She let her senses fly to the forest around them, searching for any signs they were spotted. She knew that the king's men were close, too close for her comfort. As for whether or not they were spotted, there was no cry from the army indicating so.
Star Gazer gave two more giant flaps of her wings before she was high enough in the cloud cover to not be seen. She leveled out and circled around so she could watch the other two accend into the skies. Moon was blinding as she flashing into the skies, her white hide glinting like glass, her mate's red even more distracting, but thanks to the thick trees and clouds, they went undetected. Let us not tarry here over long. We need to get to the back entrance of the caves quickly to pick up the others. Keep your eyes peeled for danger. |
