Marksmanship- Evensgard is deadly when using a crossbow. He can accurately shoot targets up to 30 yards away with his crossbow and he can shoot targets up to 25 feet away with his mini crossbow.

Survival- As an adventurer, Evansard can track and hunt animals, fish, identify edible plants, and live off the land. He also knows how to captain a ship and sometimes commands his father’s old ship, the Firehawk.

Trading/commerce: While Evansgard is known for his adventures and exploits, he is also a businessman. Evansgard is good at making deals and trading. He learned from his father how to trade and profit and how to spot scams.

Character Personality: Evansgars lives for adventure. He has always been inspired by the tales of great explorers and has always sought to be one of them. Evan owns Fort Trenton as well as two trade ships so he has plenty of resources at his disposal. Evan loves exploring and spending time in nature. He is very skilled at surviving in the wilderness. Evan has a list of things to do and his main goal is to complete the tasks on this list. Among them is to find the real Fountain of Youth. Although he has already had an exceptionally long life due to him being half elf, he knows that he will not live forever. Though Evan is 137 years old and still seemingly young, he knows that eventually he will grow old. Evan is just as much at home in a big city as he is in the wilderness, though he tends to avoid places like Urû'baen. Evan believes in always being prepared and will often haul excess supplies along even if he may not need them. He also never travels anywhere unarmed, so vicious foes beware. Evan likes to share his adventures with others and gladly allows others to join him on a quest. He often pays them for their troubles afterward. Evan is also very generous, taking after his elven mother. During the harsh winter months, Evan allows travelers to stay at the inn at Fort Trenton for a lower price and feeds them for free. Evan never kills without good reason. On a side note, Evan also hates to dress in fancy clothing, instead preferring the simple cloths that he makes himself.

Character History:

Evan was born at Fort Trenton to Ariana, an Elven dragon rider, and Garret, a wealthy trader. From an early age, Evan was taught by his father how to trade and how to do business. His mother taught him a few basic magic skills and a bit of Elven culture. During his childhood, Evan’s best friend was Razinir, his mother’s golden yellow dragon. Evan enjoyed riding Razinir with his mother. Unfortunately as the years went by, Ariana spent an increasing amount of time away from home due to her duties as a Rider. Evan’s father owned a vast network of trading posts throughout Alagaesia and even some in the lands beyond its borders. Someday, these were to be passed on to Evan. At the age of sixteen, Evan’s father brought him along aboard the Firehawk, the flagship of the trade fleet. During the voyage, Garret taught Evan how to sail and how to captain the ship. However, Evan was not interested in taking over the family business. He wanted adventure and as soon as the ship arrived back home, Evan set out on his own. Razinir flew Evan through the Boer Mountains to Fort Trenton, a remote fort trading post that his family owned. From there, Evan set off into the wilderness, bidding goodbye to Razinir. It was the last time he would ever see his friend alive. Razinir and Ariana set off to fight the Forsworn and both perished in The Fall. After more than twenty years in the wilderness, Evansgard acquired many new skills and learn many things about nature. Evan was fascinated by the he mighty herds of bison that roamed the plains far to the east of the Boer mountains and herded a small group of them back to Fort Trenton when he returned home. Shortly after his return, Evan’s father fell ill and died shortly afterward, leaving the fort and all his possessions to Evan. With nothing else to do, Evan spent much of his time managing his father’s trading network. However, as Galbatorix rose to power, most of the ships and trading posts were either seized or destroyed, leaving Evan with just Fort Trenton and the Razinir. Since then, Evan has gone on many adventures, whether it be aiding the Varden in their struggle against the Empire or fighting pirates at sea. He is still as adventurous as ever and always looking to the horizon.

Weapons:

1. A crossbow that he aquired during one of his adventures. It is very similar to Natagath’s crossbow and was likely build by the same weapon maker. The crossbow uses a lever action and a clip that holds five additional bolts, which attaches to the bottom of the weapon. When the lever is pushed forward it opens a slider and moves the next bolt into place. When the lever is pulled back, it draws the string back.

2. A miniature crossbow about fourteen inches long. Evansgard built it to use for close quarter combat. The limbs fold up so it can be concealed easily. They can be quickly sprung into place by pulling a lever on the bottom of the weapon. The mini crossbow can also be clipped onto Evansgard's belt. It fires small wooden projectiles about five inches long that he makes himself. The mini crossbow can kill at up to twenty-five feet, though it may take a couple of shots at that distance. It has a hand grip on the back behind the trigger so it can be fired with one hand, but works best when used with both hands.

3. A survival knife with a serrated edge on one side and a sharpened edge on the other. It is carried in a leather sheath on his belt.

4. A one handed 28 in. short sword. There is nothing remarkable about it other than it was a gift made for him by his father. It is also carried on his belt.

The Razinir: Evan’s three mast frigate. Originally called Firewawk, the ship belonged to Evan’s father and Evan inherited it when his father died. Evan renamed the ship after Razinir, his mother’s dragon who was killed in the Fall. The Razinir is a mighty ship, measuring 220 feet long and 45 feet wide. The three masts from forward to aft measure 190 feet, 220 feet, and 175 feet respectively. The Razinir was formerly a navy ship that Evan’s father bought after it was decommissioned. The Razinir is panted a dark green color and has a figurehead of a gold dragon below the bowsprit. It was one of several ships owned by Garret as part of his trading company. However, after the rise of the Empire, most of the ships except for the Razinir were conscripted into Imperial use along with Garret’s trading posts. The Razinir is capable of hauling a large amount of cargo, having been refitted as a cargo ship. However, it also has a special armament. The ship is armed with six ballista: two on the port side, two on the starboard side, one on the stern, and one on the bow below the bowsprit. The ballista are mounted below the main deck and are concealed by trap doors on the side of the ship. The weapons are capable of launching either steel tipped bolts or explosive bolts with a fuse. The Razinir also carries exploding barrels that can be used against pursuing ships. They are filled with explosives and detonated by lighting a waterproof fuse before dumping them over the back of the ship. Evan’s personal cabin is at the rear of the ship and has several windows lining the outer bulkhead. The windows can be covered with tin plates to protect them from damage in battle. Though the ship is large, it can still travel relatively fast for a vessel its size.

The Eagle: Evan’s newest ship is the Eagle. Unlike the Razinir, the Eagle is small and fast, perfect for running blockades and smuggling goods. The Eagle has two square rigged masts. The forward mast is 112 feet tall and the aft mast is 80 feet tall. The Eagle is ninety feet long and twenty feet wide. It is armed with four ballista mounted on the main deck. They are smaller than the ones on the Razinir and can only fire steel tipped projectiles. The ship also carries a few exploding barrels that can be used against a pursuing ship. The Eagle is not elaborately decorated like the Razinir but it has a figurehead of a mermaid mounted below the bowsprit. The captains’ cabin is very plain with only four small windows across the back for allowing light in. The ship is faster than the Razinir, with a maximum speed of up to 12 knots with favorable winds.

Dislikes: Being bored, politics, self-righteous creeps who are always trying to rule the world/destroy everything, the Empire.

Animal Companions: Helios, his pet bison who also serves as his means of transportation. Helios is the size of an average bull bison. Evan controls him using elven skills learned from his mother. Despite his seemingly gentle nature, Helios is very much a wild animal and Evan is the only person who has truly earned his trust. He is defensive of Evan and will attack anyone who threatens his master. Helios has a long, dark brown mane of extremely shaggy hair on the front half of his body and legs, and he has shorter, lighter colored hair on the rest of his body. He several beaded braids of hair on his head which Evan added as decorations. Helios’ horns are about two feet long each and very sharp. The bags on the saddle that he wears hold Evan’s supplies. Due to his immense strength, Helios is capable of carrying a lot of weight.


Character's Physical Description: Evan is six feet tall with long dark hair that comes down to his shoulders. Being only half elf, he lacks the pointed ears of a regular elf though he still has sharp elven facial features. Evan normally wears tanned buckskin pants and shirt and leather boots during the warmer parts of the year, similar to what Paito Grimm wears, and a heavy bearskin fur coat during the colder times. When he sails on his ship sea, Evan wears different attire. His sailor attire consists of long black pants, a loose fitting white puffy shirt and an olive colored captain’s coat with several deep pockets. His headgear usually varies from adventure to adventure, ranging from a simple rag tied around his head to a knitted cap or even a wide brimmed hat. Evansgard is intimidating with his wild, rugged appearance, and his big survival knife and mini crossbow strapped to his belt only add to that image. He also wears a backpack and has several pouches on his belt for holding supplies.

Dreams for the Future: To find the Fountain of Youth, to continue his adventures and to explore the lands beyond Alagaesia.

Reason for Dreams: He does not want to grow old and he wants to see new places.

Alignment/side: Neither, although he has no love for the empire.
