I am in Civil Air Patrol in the U.S is anyone else here in CAP or some other kind of Air Cadets. Military Cadets, or just plain militaru

Just a topic to discuss it

I know someone from army cadets. But that's it. Nothing to do with air really.

I think I will change the topic name a little for a more variety, part of civil air patrol is all about "cadet programs" which involves rank, drill competitions, encampment" and other things that the army does.

p.s what are the army cadets

On topic, I love CAP we do search and rescue, disaster relief, aerosspace and aviation things and military things too

i almost joined the CAP but then saw they didnt do that much flying and decided to stick to my glider plane lessons

In CAP they have flight academy once a year, and you can get you glider wings for about 1/2 to 1/3 of the price it takes for normal flight school. And if you want to get a career in aviation in the future CAP looks REALLY GOOD on a resume.

yea but being a licensed glider pilot looks good too

It all looks good, but if I was an employer and saw a civilian glider pilot or a military auxiliary pilot I would choose the military one over it.

There are different kinds of squadrons and I guess if you want to go into it for aviation and the squadron you are looking into doesnt do much aviation than you have a problem.

this is an aviation squadron thing i think, but they dont have any airplanes or airfield to fly out of

than that shouldn't even be a squadron

i know, they are really dumb, so i didnt join them seeing as i get more flying out of my glider lessons

How much do your lessons cost

it depends on how high my tow is but about $13 for a 3000 foot tow and like $6 for a 1000 foot tow

In Cap they have $800 for a week long flight school, they feed you give you housing and give you a solo wings and licence when you are done

yea but seeing as i only go on weekends it takes a while
