Post Illusia and Morpice
Name: Illusia

Age: 113

Gender: Male

Skills:

Advanced Magic: Galbatorix has taught Illusia magic so powerful that the Elves themselves fear its power, and it is much more powerful than the Ancient Language. However, it is a form of dark magic, so Illusia fears that the power might corrupt him, so he only uses it when he has to. It generally uses more energy than the Ancient Language, but being a Shade, it takes away his portion of energy like the Ancient Language would an elf.

The three steps of Matter: Illusia's old master taught him how to manipulate matter in various ways. In other words, manipulating objects. The first step was examining the matter and build-up of an object. The second step was destroying the matter, and the third step was rebuilding the matter. When Illusia rebuilds it, he can only rebuild it as something of equivalent or lesser mass. He can stop at any three of the steps, which allows him to rebuild, destroy, or simply examine matter. This however, takes a large amount of concentration, and even though he has the power of a Shade, it uses a large amount of energy to destroy matter, and the larger the area or object he is manipulating, the more energy it takes. Because it uses so much energy, Illusia will usually only use it on small projects, such as a door that may be magically sealed, or harnessing matter and manipulating it to his own will.

Example of rebuilding: Illusia is running in an alleyway, and manipulates the matter on the wall to the left and/or right of him and stretches it to form a wall in the middle of the alleyway, blocking entrance.

Release: A form Illusia goes in whenever he has to complete a feat that his current powers can't handle. A small black barrier outlines the form of Illusia's body, greatly increasing endurance and strength, as well as giving him a boost to speed. It only benfits his magic by making him more concentrated and stable. This form drains energy very quickly, and the longer he holds it, the more energy it drains.

Race: Artificial Shade

Hair: Spiky black hair

Eyes: Before he was captured, they were a lively and great shade of sky blue. When he was captured, the liveliness had been replaced by a slight dullness. When his master died, they turned into the eyes of a man who has lost hope.

Home Village: He believes he was born in Osilon, but he hadn't been there for long.

Parents: He can't remember the names of his parents. They were ripped from his mind by Galbatorix.

Siblings: Same as Parents.

Personality: Pre-Imprisonment: He had been lively and active, like any normal elf before the war. He had occasionally played pranks, and he trained when he became a dragon rider at age 9. He had a hard time following orders and had always gone with his better judgment, despite the fact that it may go against what the higher-ups have told him. All in all, he was a good kid.
Post-Imprisonment: He had resisted Galbatorix with every fiber of his being, but it was no good when Galbatorix found out his true name. After that, he had the will to live lost, probably buried within all of the orders Galbatorix had given him using his true name. If it hadn't been for Morpice and an order from Galbatorix that Illusia couldn't kill himself, he would have done so. The Forsworn were cruel, and he had often been forced to train with them when he was young, and he usually lost because he hadn't been trained by Galbatorix, unlike them. However, his master, Forid, gave him hope. Forid had been kind to Illusia, and like Illusia, he was a name-slave. When Forid died, Illusia and Morpice were on their own. Illusia had lost most of his positive emotions at Forid’s death, and now he closely resembled a robot in personality. The only being he opens up to is Morpice. He never shows emotion to anyone else, and remains in a robotic-like state when conversing with Galbatorix or one of Galbatorix’s servents.

History: Illusia's life started out as a happy one. He had loving parents and had lived a carefree life, often pulling mischievous pranks. However, no order from anyone had gone against his better judgment. When they had allowed Elves to touch the dragon egg to see if it would hatch for them, Illusia had snuck in and touched the egg for himself, despite the fact that he was too young. The elves had argued over whether Illusia should be punished or not for breaking tradition, and he might have had the egg not hatched for him. The Elves had wisely come to the conclusion that if the dragon chose him, then he was destined to be his Rider. Illusia had reluctantly gone into training with his young dragon, whom he had named Morpice. Then, the war had started. All Riders and Elves of age had gone into battle, and Illusia had been ordered not to participate in the battle, but he had hated the feeling of helplessness he had felt when those of age had went into battle and he had stayed behind and trained, so he and Morpice had entered the battle as well. If Illusia had known what lay ahead of him, he would have never placed a foot on the battlefield. He had quickly locked into combat with a Forsworn, and had lost and been captured. He couldn’t remember the look the Elves had given him when he and Morpice were pulled, by magic, through the air, but he was sure it had been disbelief and extreme sadness. He has always regretted his rash and illogical decision to fight in that battle.

It hadn’t started off as bad as Illusia had thought it would. He had been given a kind and caring master, and he and Morpice had been given a good sleeping quarters in the castle. Despite the Forsworn being cruel to him (while they were still alive), he had lived a better than expected life there. He had been trained by his master, Forid, and he hardly ever saw Galbatorix. However, he has several scars from when he had tried to resist being brought in to the castle, but to Illusia’s disbelief, Galbatorix had figured out his true name within a couple of days. So, his life wasn’t bad, except when Galbatorix had realized that Forid was giving Illusia a dangerous inspiration. By then, Forid had already imparted the knowledge of changing one’s true name to Illusia, but Galbatorix hadn’t known this. He did know, however, that Forid was much too kind to Illusia, and to make sure Illusia hadn’t been taught things Galbatorix wouldn’t approve of, Galbatorix had scanned Illusia’s mind once more. Fortunately, Forid had thought ahead and gotten Illusia to implant his memory of when he learned how to change one’s true name into an enchanted bottle hidden under Illusia’s bed. However, before they could retrieve the memory, Galbatorix had murdered Forid in the night. The only reason Galbatorix did so was because Forid gave a bad inspiration in Illusia, motivating Illusia that he would one day escape Uru’baen. Illusia had been devastated by Forid’s death, and if it hadn’t been for Morpice’s support, Illusia would have lost all hope in life. Galbatorix however had told Illusia that Forid had died of a powerful illness. Now without a teacher, Galbatorix had carefully implanted a spirit into Illusia’s body, making him a Shade and giving him the power of a Shade, but not changing Illusia’s personality. This was because of the fact that Galbatorix didn’t trust natural Shades, and had never even trusted Durza. Now, Illusia has almost lost all hope in any escape. The memory of one changing his or her true name still, to this day, lies beneath Illusia’s bed, unknown to everyone and waiting for someone to uncover it.

Weapons: A black sword given to Illusia by Galbatorix. It was taken from a Rider Galbatorix had slaughtered, and is in very good condition, with no scratches or marks of use, despite Illusia’s constant sparring with it. Illusia is very skilled with his weapon. When in the “Released” state, a powerful glyph forges itself into the blade, increasing its sharpness and strength as well as improving its cutting ability. It also increases the weapons affect against destroying wards. Using Illusia’s own energy, he can infuse the blade with an element, causing it to burn, freeze, or strike harder.

Dagger: A black dagger with purple trimmings. Illusia wields it in a reverse grip, and relies on this weapon should his sword not be available to him currently.

Likes: Morpice

Dislikes: His own hopelessness and imprisonment, as well as Galbatorix with every fiber of his being.

Fears/Weaknesses: He is afraid that he might never escape Galbatorix and spend the rest of his life in Uru’baen.

Animal Companion: Morpice, if you count a dragon as an animal.

Physical Description: Illusia has a slim and lithe body, but don’t let this give you the impression that he is weak in strength, because he is not only an artificial Shade, but his physical strength have increased over his training, making him very strong. He has black spiky hair and lifeless blue eyes. He wears a black and white cloak with a high-open collar. He also wears a necklace of six red crests.

Dreams for the Future: To break free of Galbatorix.

Reasons for Dreams: He has been in Galbatorix’s service for over a hundred years, and he is quite frankly tired of it.

Alignment: The Varden.

Name: Morpice

Age: 104

Gender: Male

Parents: He doesn’t know.

Eyes: A strong, determined, deep green.

Personality: Morpice, being Illusia’s only motivation, maintains a strong will despite the imprisonment and always helps Illusia emotionally whenever Illusia loses hope. Morpice has hope that one day, he shall break free of Galbatorix and resume his life as a free dragon, along with Illusia. He is very defiant, and the only thing restraining him from lunging at Galbatorix and tearing him apart is that Galbatorix has his true name under his control. He also abides by nearly whatever Illusia decides, shown when he went with Illusia’s plan to enter the war and fight. Of course, he regrets the decision, and if he had known how terrible the end result would be, he would’ve stopped Illusia from entering the war. He is wise, and the only living being he shows compassion for is Illusia. However, he too was saddened when Forid died, and has always held suspicion of Forid’s “death,” and if Galbatorix may have been involved in it. Morpice has strong courage, and some think he’d be a good leader.

History: The first couple of years of Morpice’s life were, without a doubt, the best. The elves honored him, and he met many fellow dragons and gained many good friends. Then, the war had started. Several friends of his went off to fight in the war, and he had been restricted from entering the war. He had felt great sorrow, but had regretfully obliged. However, his Rider had wanted to enter the war even more than Morpice, and eventually, he realized that nothing would stop Illusia from entering the war, even if Morpice didn’t enter it with him, so Morpice went with Illusia, and they joined the battle. Many Elves were stunned to see their appearance, but their looks were nothing in comparison to the ones they had showed when Illusia and Morpice had quickly become captured. Their looks then were of extreme regret, sorrow, and downcast. Morpice had expected what lay ahead for him and Illusia, but nothing could prepare him for it. However, there was a glint of hope left, and his name was Forid, Morpice’s and Illusia’s teacher. He was kind and compassionate, something Morpice would never expect from someone who had worked for Galbatorix, so it made sense when Forid had told them that he too was a name-slave. Later, Forid had mentioned how changing their true names would break their ties to Galbatorix, so Morpice pushed strongly towards that goal. But Forid died soon, in an ominous accident that had left Morpice quite suspicious, though he mentioned nothing of it to Illusia. Now, Morpice works hard to keep Illusia with at least some hope. (Remember, the memory of changing one’s true name is still sealed in that bottle under Illusia’s bed)

Weapons: Everything he was born with.

Likes: Illusia, and the thought of escape.

Dislikes: Galbatorix, his imprisonment, etc.

Fears/Weaknesses: Same as Illusia that he might never be free.

Physical Description: Morpice is extremely strong in physical strength. His growth has been accelerated by Galbatorix, and he is also a very bulky and strong dragon, but don’t underestimate his agility. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for with his flexibility and agility. He is black all around except for his eyes, which are green.

Dreams: To be free.

Reason for Dream: He desperately wants to break out of Galbatorix’s control.

Alignment: The Varden
