E.K- so does rockband 2...but U HAVE to have a kick pedal to resemble the drums or it would sound good at ALL yes u may not realize it but u couldnt play drums without it
S.S- yes i do play drums in real life....i just bought Metallica songs sunday for Rockband and they are the HARDEST on drums...i can usually play expert on anything but im having trouble with HARD...what song are u talking about?

elve King: Actually, I just checked the website and it does. Did you hear about the new finger-tapping bar on the guitar?
Arya_an_Eragon_<3: No wonder. I wonder how I'll do. I've never had any experience with playing drums before in my life. The song was One by Metallica.
i have ...And Justice for all, Blackened, and Ride the lighting by Metallica. the drums are awesome for me but i also play the real drums. the foot pedal is the best part. if u have a sweet surround sound the bass kick is awesome. Rockband 2 is out!! im going to go buy it soon.
no not that i know of. you may be able to buy it tho. there are a lot of songs u can buy. i bought 15 this weekend. but no it dosent come on the game.

Ok, didnt really get a chance to read the whole forum but I have GH3. I am pretty decent. Beat Career on Expert. Only one song left with 3 stars in normal setlist...Raining Blood by Slayer, hate that song. (Playing wise, actually listening to it is not half bad.) It's really not "impossible", just takes practice =P

Wait, so did you beat Raining Blood and Through The Fire And Flames on Hard? You must be really good then!
Is it because of the drums and microphone? Because the newest Guitar Hero game is going to have those too. I'm not trying to convince you to get Guitar Hero World Tour instead of Rockband, though. lol
the only real dif tho is rockabnd has manny mannnnny more songs than world tout and usually a band tht allows there song to be put on rockband wont allow it to be put on guitar hero, and also the other way around..so it just depends on the bands u like

Actually World Tour has 2 more songs than Rockband 2...
By the way, World Tour comes out today! I don't know many people on here who are getting it though. I know we're getting it and so is elve King. forswornmonk/Kataraflower786 and airbenderaang7861/firebender786 might be getting it. The complete bundle is $189, which isn't that bad. I can't wait to play the drums!
actually rockband has 58 songs on the game..and over 120 sonds to download
i just bought the rockaband extension pack....four symbols....4 drums. and one kick pedal

Oh well, I was talking about the actual songs that you can get on the game without buying anything else. But technically, you can get any song in World Tour since you can put your own songs in their and make up the notes.
yea u get 58 in the first game and i think maybe like 60 on the second...not sure havent bought it yet
no its just and extension u on on

Re: Guitar Hero
I bought Guitar Hero: World Tour, needless to say...I am dissapointed.
The concept of the drum kit is a great idea, but unfortunately it doesn't work all the time. The red button seldom registers, you have to hit it REALLY hard for it to work, and half the time that doesn't help. Therefore, I get about 70 percent on the songs...I can't do better because I miss the reds.
I talked to another guy who bought it on my college floor...he says his yellow button doesn't register all the time.
Great concept, flawed delivery.

Oh, so that's the problem with it. But not every drum kit could be messed up, right? It could happen that one person gets one that's completely screwed up while someone else buys one that's in perfect condition. Does it work out like that, or are you saying that every package has a flaw?
sorry to say it but u should have bought Rockband...the kick pedal is perfect and all my color work even when u barely touch them. theyre super sensitive

We were about to buy the complete band set for World Tour today, but they only had the complete set for PS3 and XBox 360. They told us that they're going to get the drum set and the microphone for Wii on November 16, which means more waiting for us. Oh well, at least we have a set date.

My drums set works perfectly fine, as well as my guitar and mic. The guitar tapping feature is totally worth getting it over rock band 2..... And also this is just my opinion, but guitar hero seems to choose better songs to put into their games. overall I give it a 10 out of 10 as a rating. one of the best games all year
rockband u can get over 500 songs for it. and the new bass guitar has 2 pick things..not the notes..the thing u strum. theres two so u use ur index and middle finger. its fricking sweet

I have to respectfully disagree, it is nowhere near original enough to be one of the games of the year.
For example, Guitar Hero: World Tour brought in essence three new things to the table that are different from the other games.
a) Drum Kit - The drum kit was already done by Rockband for nearly two years now, yes they did improve it...but overall the concept was taken.
b) Microphone, same as above. Except it hasn't been improved from the Rockband version IMO
c) Solo Bar, as stated with the previous mentioned. It is carried out nearly flawlessly, but the idea was originally rockbands from a couple years ago.
Overall, it is just a polished version of a different developers work.

Re: Guitar Hero
alright.... If you want to think of it that way, only the ideas weren't only slightly improved, they were drastically improved.... also the finger tapping idea was never rock bands.... yes they had the solo bar, but not finger tapping.... there two different things..... also remember rockband and guitar hero work on guitar hero originally together, so the ideas rockband had for the drums and such were also in red octanes head, but guitar hero wanted to get legends of rock released before stepping up to the plate with their kit, also they played it smart to let harmonix release the band kit first, which allowed red octane to perfect the kit which they have done in world tour......
to finish this off you forgot to mention many other world tour features such as character and instrument creator, and also the music studio ..... all this being said.... red octane took back its place over harmonix where they should be....

I'm going to have to agree with elve King. Although I didn't know that Guitar Hero let Rockband come out first so they can perfect it. But I do think that World Tour basically took Rockband's ideas and improved them, for some things.
Is the finger-tapping only for the solos, or can it be used throughout the whole song?

Re: Guitar Hero
Me too, elve King is right, Guitar Hero 1 and 2 were made by Activision (Rock Band's company), but GH3 was made by a different one (which I don't know the name of). And even though GH World Tour kind of used the same idea as Rock Band, it's a great game nevertheless, with many features of its own that elve King mentioned.
maybe so but Rockband 2 just game out and it completly beat all of world tours stuff. A-the drums were improved drastically by causin the sound not to be as loud and making a pefectly flawless steel plated kick bass. if you would lift the entire set up the drum kick will NOT fall like in RB1 it is completly firm. they are also coming out with extensions. you will be able to go out and by one symbol or more at a time to add to ur set. theyll be around the same price as regular symbols. now they are already 3 symbol extensions possible...along with the four drums.
B-the guitars are now made firmer, so no felxibitlity is allowed. the strum bar is firmer and now it is much easier to access the overdrive without accidently hitting it when its not wanted.

Well, that was annoying.... We went to like 6 stores yesterday and none of them had the complete band set for Wii!! >.< They only had it for PS3. But it's alright, we ordered it online ^.^ Now all we have to do is wait, lol. So excited!!!
Yeah, it should be arriving by mail soon! Can't wait to rock out on those drums, hehe. I think those are gonna be the coolest new part of the game. Though the guitar is also extremely improved. AND on Wii you can download your own songs into the game! Or so I hear...

Definitely! I think drums are going to be really great, since it's overall a brand-new experience for me. I don't drum often, but I'm used to the guitar from the previous Guitar Hero games, and well.... I've sung in the shower. Come on, I know you all have! lol
I'm not entirely sure if you can download songs into the game though. My teachers, Miss Iezzy ( ) told me that, but I still don't know if I should take her word for it. I don't know, we'll see in a few days.

Im going to get GH World Tour later this week. Cant wait, I did play it at Best Buy its SO fun. I really love the drum set. I'm decent at it but I am much better playing guitar.
Btw if any one manages to FC Hot For Teacher by Van Halen on drums....you are a god.
@whoever asked me if I beat RB and TTFAF on hard, RB- obviously if I have beaten it on expert lawl TTFAF- Yep, wasnt to bad actually. Still working on it for expert. (I hate trying to tap the begining...makes me want to kill myself.)
Although recently I just 5 starred One on expert- 400k roughly, that made me happy. Just got my highest score ever on a song-- Stockholm Syndrome(Muse Pack) 627k. Score may be impressive but its actually a pretty easy song...constant up and down strumming basically.

Yeah, same with us. We had the chance to play to play it at Best Buy, but it was actually harder than I thought it would be, to my surprise. I think they cranked all the levels up a notch on difficulty, since this game is a major hit so far.
You got 5 stars on One on Expert? :bows down to Daidrea: Wow, now that takes some skill! Good job. We still have to work on passing that song I think, along with Raining Blood and The Number of the Beast (GH3).
Yeah we still haven't beaten Raining Blood on Hard or Expert yet! Anyone like Daidrea or elve king wanna come over to our house and beat it for us? I joke, of course. But still, we gotta make Sokka do it! He's the only one who can! Actually, I bet Aang and Toph could do it too. I couldn't, though. I'm totally jenk at Guitar Hero.

Heh, NO WAY AM I GOING TO BEAT THAT SONG. Unless some day my fingers magically obtain super powers so they're able to move with extreme speed and perfect accuracy.
Update: Never mind guys, we can't get any song we want in GH4. There's only a list of songs you can download into the game, which I think is pointless. But oh well, it's going to be a great game nevertheless. I'm definitely looking forward to playing it!
Of course you could do it! You'd need to dedicate at least 4 hours of your life to it, but you could do it! You have the abilities.
What?! Aw c'mon, that's a rip-off! Actually, not really, the game still rocks nonetheless... Ah well, it would've been cool. Maybe in a later version of GH.
i just played the expansion pack on drums on RB2! im sorry but i was totally better than RB1 and GHWT lol. it had 4 symbol and 4 drums....im in love with it!
--by the way...so we have any other epxpert-playin RB or GHWT players? lol i need someone to talk to about certain songs!

@Arya: I definitely wouldn't be able to beat it either. I bet Aang and Toph could though. It's just too hard! Besides, I'm still working on One right now.
@Arya/Aang: I think it would be better if we could get our own songs in there, but oh well. The game's still gonna be great. The songs would be hard to make the notes for and sing anyway.
@arya_an_eragon_<3: Nice. That's a lot, isn't it? 4 symbols and 4 drums?
Well, we're getting GH:WT soon, so we'll be able to talk to you about it. Wait, you have WT?

Arya:LOL, 4 hours of my life dedicated to a video game isn't worth it, no matter how fun it is. And don't worry, the game's still got two of our favorite songs in it, so it's all good.
Arya_an_Eragon<3: It has 4 symbols? Wow... That seems challenging.
Sokka: Heh, no way, not me. Besides, I'm not even going to try anymore, considering we're getting a brand new GH soon with about 80 brand new songs. What's the point, you know?
True. Putting in all those notes could become kind of annoying. We should just be grateful for what we have lol.

Whoa dude, you're really good! That song is really hard, too, since it's so long and all. Don't you get tired? Lol. And the part with all of the green frets... you barely missed any! I wish I was as good as that.

Yeah man, you're amazing! At the end, when it starts with the whole death bridge stuff, that's where I do okay. I can hit most of the green notes in that tightly squeezed row, but I usually miss about 3 of them somehow. I need to figure out the rhythm better. But anyway, nice job! I've never seen someone get that high on One on Expert before. Keep up the good work.

BOOYA! We opened the game yesterday, but I didn't get the chance to get on SF because we ended up playing until midnight! The game is sweet, trust me. The only flaw I noticed in the game is the text. When playing a song, I can barely read the title or the band name, much less the lyrics when singing. It's really annoying...
thats cool. i wish i could play it on expert. right now ive been focusing on the drums. which i can play expert on lol.

Drums are really hard for me. Maybe it's because I have experience with guitar from GH3 and singing isn't really too difficult, but drums are a completely new thing. I guess I just need to keep practicing until I get the hang of it.. whenever that is.
Some of the song in GHWT are nearly impossible on guitar lol. Like B.Y.O.B. and Trapped Under the Ice or something like that. The solos have become even more insane than in GH3.

I think you're right. WT is like the ultimate Guitar Hero game now. I don't know if it's going to be the last, but right now it's definitely the best. Some players out there are looking for a challenge, and if they buy WT their search is over.

I'm going to buy WT soon, but only the software because I already have a guitar from GHIII and I can't afford the entire band (£130 for the PS2!!!! *faints*) but I'm so excited, I love loads of the songs on there, and I'm so happy that they included BYOB- never thought I'd see a System track on it and that's a gooood one.

Sweet, you're going to definitely love GH4, trust me. It doesn't even matter if you don't get the whole band set, because just the guitar is amazingly fun by itself.
Yeah, I didn't expect them to get a heavy metal song like that in the game lol. By the way, they completely block out the curses in it. Just to let you know lol.
In WT the guitar difficulty is harder then rockband
hard on WT = expert on rockband
but the drums are totally opposite.
hard on drums on WT = expert one guitar hero
so it just depend on the challenge ur looking for. if ur a drummer, rockband has more of a challenge, but guitar hero is for the ultimate guiter players.

We're on the last gig in World Tour, but I can't pass most of the songs on Hard drums on my first try. I just can't get the beats down. But strangely, I can pass B.Y.O.B.. And I passed a couple of songs on Expert so far, haven't really tried any others.

At least you can play good on Hard. I definitely need to play some more drums lol. B.Y.O.B. is hard on every instrument, but it's fairly easy to sing. They basically repeat the fast verses, so it's not too difficult.

Well I just beat the career on Guitar Expert. The songs at the end were a bit of a pain...especially Satch Boogie. I might look at doing the Bass career if I am bored. I dont really like bass...especially now with the open strum note but meh I'll try it. Overall, pretty good setlist and some fun songs. For the most part I think they toned it down a little for difficulty from GH3 for the setlist. Also GH3 had alot more diffcult songs from bonus and downloaded in my opinion. But that's just me.
Hopefully in a few weeks or even on Christmas I'll get the drumset. Cant wait for that.
Yeah, bass isn't as challenging as guitar, though on some songs it can be fun, like Beautiful Disaster. Drums are pretty fun, too, except sometimes the foot pedal gets hard. Overall I like this game better than GH3. I think the songs in this game were better for the most part.

Re: Guitar Hero
Very nice, I did BYOB only once, got the strumming down ...just the timing of the notes I need to work on. 5 star satch boogie, geez, I got only 4...the solo at the end really killed my hand
HFT, got the solo down pretty easily, its just the part that threw me off a little bit whet it goes R, G, R, Y, B, O, B&O, and Y&O (Da Dada Da Dada Da Dut Dada) <---Lol
I still need to work on the solo in Carzy Train, its kinda tricky...the begining of it is some what similar to "Red Snake" in TTFAF...but a little easier. I can get through it but I would like to bump up my score >_>
**Also as a side note, you guys see the video for Guitar Hero: Metallica even though WT just came out, this looks like this could be really fun. Metallica is one of my favorite bands(probably not my all time favorite but very close.) They will probably do the same thing they did with Aerosmith, majority of the songs will be by Metallica with a few opening bands or featured people. I wonder if they will use previous Metallica songs like One on GH3 or Trapped Under Ice on WT. (I thought Master of Pupputs was on GH2 but it was a custom lol.) Anyways I'm psyched for this next one.
(There were rumors on for a game for ACDC but its unlikely.)
i officially beat the hardest songs on Rockband on Expert...im so excited. they were so fricking hard....i figured id post a youtube video of the one i stuggled with the most. I didnt do as good as this guy but i got a 98%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The beggining is easy, but it gets tougher trust me (=
also the other one i stuggle with is....Blackened by Metallica...but i got a 96%..if any one else can play this song let me know... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC6TP9Z-Kug

Re: Guitar Hero
Just an update: Well things have been going good for me on GH3, mastered intro to TTFAF, beat it (got achievement finally). Working on upping my score on it now, currently about 400k. Um, on One got over half a mil, 503k. I probably could get it higher if I didnt miss anything right before the fast strumming parts. Got only a few misses in that section so If I improve that and dont miss anything can maybe bump it up to maybe 520k. After that it will be a LONG time before I can improve on it. Because the only thing left really is Fast Solo A (and transition afterwards). The speed to tap it is just ridiculous. Best I could get so far is slower in practice mode. Anyways I'm vastly improving on all my scores all around. Biggest one I had to say is The Number of the Beast, jumped from about 312 to 421K.
I might be doing more videos to put up on youtube, for runs of songs mostly but I might do some to help with diffcult parts of songs.
With skills like that it's necessary to show off Niceness.
The only update I have is that I really dislike the GH WT drumset because the orange cymbal doesn't work anymore unless you bang on it with all the force you can muster and one of the drumsticks broke in half. Also the yellow cymbal gets unplugged about 4 times during a song and you have to keep re-plugging it. And sometimes the red pad has sensitivity issues too. Though this is probably my fault. I probably shouldn't have brought the drumset to my cousins' house.

Re: Guitar Hero
I actually like the drumset, the one I got for my cousin's works fine. Been working that way for a few months now. Some are just manufactured weirdly, makes them not work as well as others...they need to figure out the bugs and fix them so that all of them work fine.
Another thing I would like to add is that Jameslikecoulters(or Jameslikecrazy) youtube page was just taken down I am so POed. I actually made a video discussing it. I am unable to post the link right now by my youtube username is kyuubi1212 if you want to look it up. Youtube has gone too far on that one, James is so amazingly awesome, had over 32000 subscribers, huge amount of fans and millions of views on his videos. He had about 250 videos or so. Apparently playing modified songs on a game is fine but recording you playing with clicking sounds, you possibly talking in the background and the game sound effects in that video is copyright? Complete crap if you ask me. Go check it out. (And support if you wish, it would be nice if we can send a message to youtube to maybe reconsider....doubt it but hey I'm trying anyways.)
I just got the Rock Band Expansion Pack, and i absolutley love it. I love it way more the GH's Drumset. Its very senstive and there for it doesnt take much force at all. The pedal is so perfect and not hard to kick at all. i'm officially rocking expert on every single song (i dont mean to brag at all) and im waiting for a third rockband hopefully with more challenges. I've actually been taking what I learn off of Rock Band and transferring it downstairs on my realy drumset and it works well . The notes are right on.
