Yeah, I think she went into it, but I don't think she would ever risk disgorging it unless she were giving it to Eragon. I'm not sure about her hiding it though...

But we're also not sure what happens to a dragon whose body is still alive when they're Eldunari is smashed. It's possible that they're mind and soul return to their body, or their body dies to.

Ah, but some dragons freaked out when they felt their bodies dying and went into their Eldunari on accident, sometimes without even realizing they did it.

When Saphira wants to hide something from Eragon, there's no way he's gonna find out what it is until she's ready to tell him. So she could transfer into her Eldunari and disgorge it without Eragon knowing. But I don't think she would disgorge it without telling him.

I never noticed that before but thats a very good point. Saphira is a great hider she hid things from Eragon about Brom many things.

Hmmm...If a dragon's Eldunari holds it soul and mind, but you can be far from it's Eldunari and still communicate with it if you're close to the dragon itself, does that mean that just a little bit of it's mind and soul are left behind so it can still communicate with it's rider when they're away from the Eldunari?

well, the rider would be holding the eldunari to communicate. The dragon still has physical and mental control over it's body because it is still bonded with telepathy like their rider is. They don't have to keep part of their soul out of it to stay in touch, i think.

Well, their minds were welded together down to the basest level. So their souls were involved somewhere. And I said if they were far away from the Eldunari, but still together.

Example: Eldunari in Ellesmera, Eragon AND Saphira in Surda.

No, once a dragon goes in, they can't come back out. Although, even Glaedr said the dragons didn't understand them fully, so who can say for sure... CP can...

Maybe if a dragon wanted to be back in their body fully, and their body was still alive, they could use a surge of magic to make it happen. Dragons can do practically anything when they use magic, so it could actually happen.

I guess its to protect herself from the dangers outside, like if they did take it away from her, at least she'd be alive, right?

She would also be able to talk with Eragon from long distances. (She would have to tell him that she transferred into it first though.)

Tecnically, saphira has every right to do what she wants with her eldunari. Eragon can have a say, but he cant stop her if she really wants to do it.

They can already function without one another, so there really wouldn't be a point now for her not to give it to him, aside from it would be to dangerous. She will probably wait to give it to him until he absolutely needs it, or she has no other choice.

If she doesn't have a choice, that would be a very bad situation, wouldn't it?

Yeah, that's true. If Galbatorix gets his hands on Saphira, the whole world would probably end for eragon and the Varden

Eragon is one of, if not the most powerful spell caster on the side of the Varden he also has access to Aren. I think he would give himself up to save Saphira.So I disagree unless you mean emotionally strong.

So it looks like it all comes down to him to try to defend saphira, glaedr, the varden, help out the spellcasters there, and stop galbatorix. Does anyone think he can actually do it? I mean, come on. He's only sixteen, right? He can't really do much, even if he is "of age". Suppose he beats galbatorix., Then what? Not trying to downsize him at all, but what im trying to say is that he needs, or is going to need, all the help he can get.

Keep in mind, gomenesigh, regular spellcasters are weaker than Dragon Riders to start with. And y'all are forgetting whatever is inside the VoS. Eragon has beaten plenty of Empire soldiers and spellcasters by himself since he was changed, so that statement wasn't really true. The problem is all of Eragon's main enemies are extremely powerful as well. It's kind of like the story of David and Goliath.

Yeah, and plus the spellcasters he fought are nothing like ergon, but he is a weak spellcaster like them if you compare him to Galbatorix, and maybe Murtagh. Remember, he almost defeated eragon though he was just a new dragon rider.

That was only because of the Eldunari he had and Eragon was tired when they started fighting. Then when the fought again he had even more Eldunari. Although Eragon was able to beat him with the help of Arya and the other elves. So I would guesstimate that Eragon would need one or two more Eldunari (besides Glaedr's) to be able to beat Murtagh without any help from the elves.

yeah, btu he can connect his mind to the eldunari and draw on its power, so a simple spell would have like 500x the regular effect if he has many with him. How many does Galbatorix have, though?

Nobody knows for sure how many he has, or that's what Oromis told Eragon.

I'd like to point out that Eragon spent months training with Oromis and that we don't really know all of what Oromis taught him just like we don't know how much Murtagh knows. any comparison between them is a rough at best.

I realized that Oromis didn't actually give eragon the words for the transportation spell that arya used to transport the egg. He never told him.

I think you'll find Oromis does paolini just leaves that bit out. Eragon actually casts the spell before leaving Du Weldenvarden.

He might not have put every second of his time in Ellesmera in the book, but anything important to that book or the last two he put in. So we get a pretty good idea of what Eragon can do.

Oh, cool. Do you think that eagon would use that spell in the next book to get the last egg from galby and then try to run away?

Maybe eragon will find a way to get to him and help him change his name, and whayt I meant about ruinning away, I meant going back to the varden and having the army assemble and attack the forces while eragon fights Galbatorix (w/ or w/out murtagh's help) and somehow wins. But has anyone thought about this? What if eragon doesn't win? That could be the reason he leaves. He is defeated and leaves so that no one tries to kill him again for failing.

I don't think that' s the reason he leaves.

And I don't think Eragon can summon something to himself if he can't see it. Someone would have to send it to him, and then Galby would know someone had stolen it. There are probably wards around where the egg is so nobody but Galbatorix can remove it or leave with it.

maybe someone will trick galbatorix into removing the wards around himself and then eragon will get inside his head and force him to give up the egg. Either that or Murtagh will know how to surpass the wards and send the egg to eragon. if he does that, though, galbatorix might kill him for it.

true. galby hasn't fought in hundreds of years, so he's probably a little rusty anyway. and if he does go off to fight the elves, he'll probably leave Murtagh to defend the castle and eragon will persuede him to let the varden in and take over. Galby will come back and be away from the eldunari and be weaker, then eragon and murtagh ride out to meet him and defeat him. lol what a fun thought.
