OOC: ooooo, goodie. another Star/ Faefnir RP.

Faefnir continued walking through the small corrider. He found this secret passage in his mountain fortress and he decided to scout it out, despite the Stag's urgings. The Stag remained at the surface. With his golden scales glowing brightly, he could see that he was very deep underground, at least 30 feet. Suddenly he saw two figures and two horses lie on the ground. He started running towards them, although he didn't see who they were in the pitch darkness.

OOC: i'ts my turn? sorry, I thought it was Aeraldi's.

Faefnir chuckled. Well, trust me. I would have rather stayed behind at the mountain, but something told me that I should return to the desert. I'm glad I followed my instinct. By the way, Moon sends her best wishes and hopes that you are successful. She also wanted me to tell you that she's starting to fly somewhat. It's not very graceful yet, but it's flying nonetheless. She misses you and is sorry you couldn't be there to see her first flight.

OOC: ok, well, it's your turn now. so go ahead and post.

OOC: oh! i totally forgot. yeah, let's do that. I think the change is confusing me.

OOC: I'll join. With Emrhyst only.

IC: Emrhyst watched the group intently. She recognised the familiar purplish black flame of Reb's but she couldn't quite remember who the other one beside her was. She quickened her pace, intent on surprising Reb and the others.

OOC: Eriel, remember. We are underground.

OOC: I would post, but it looks like you guys have a good RP going as it is ^.^

OOC: of course you can join us. just remember we are underground.

OOC: Okay.

IC: Emrhyst ran forwards and stopped behind Keralin. Keeping as silent as a lion stalking its prey. The emerald on her head shimmered lightly as she caught the gleam of sword blades. She started to snake her head forwards. Her scales bumped against the ground so often Emrhyst was sure she would get bruises. When her head went as far as StarGazer, she let out a friendly growl.

OOC: Plz write more than that, try to go 5 sentences.

OOC: I posted that late in the night. Oo But I'll edit it...

What's the order.

IC: Eriel waved her hand in a gesture of friendship. "Of course we're here. Emrhyst here decided to take a little shortcut through Surda and she wouldn't listen when I told her to rest." She paused to let the words sink in. "She fell asleep in mid-air." Eriel laughed lightly as Emrhyst his her arm with her snout.

OOC: it's ur turn Eriel.

OOC: Congrats to ILS on getting Wise Dr status! And fyi I've already edited the post.

OOC: thank you. finally hit the big 1k. that's pretty special.

OOC: And now its Star's?

OOC: I think so. Star, is it your turn or mine?

OOC: OK. ummm... pass. I can't think of anything.

OOC: I'll post.

IC: Eriel laughed and fell back to Keralin. Her ears twitched as the dragon dropped afew feet infront of her. She nocked her bow and took aim before realising it was a dragon. She lowered her bow but did not lessen the pressure on the string. She sent her arrow shining with a silver light which illuminated the dragon even more.

OOC: Star, Aeraldi, you need to post.

OOC: pass. I can't think of anything.

Emrhyst growled at the creature and lunged at it, pinning it to the ground, her neck arched and ready to strike, her rider already taking aim.
OOC: Don't know what creature it is so pass..

OOC: Sorry for not posting here for a bit it was hard to get my mind back into this one. Also can't think of much so pass...

IC: Keralin ran up to the beast and pressed his blade against its neck. He saw the creature and realised that it wasn't a Letherblaka. Keralin backed off, never in his travels had he seen a creature like this.

OOC:-Pass

I wouldn't exactly say evil but i do enjoy the suffering of others. Not to mention everything about fights that get me glad. Aeraldi laughed lightly at his own joke. He looked back at Faefnir,
I could be, then again I could not. I hide many things from the likes of you. What's to say I'm not just hiding the fact that I killed caravan of men before I came here?
Aeraldi had heard enough, if this continued something bad was really going to happen. There was no caravan only the rabbits, heck he had only descended from the mountains a couple of hours ago.
Aeraldi's body shook slightly, each side fighting. His scales faded to white, then back to black. His claws gripped the ground making a rend in the floor that had its own darkness about it. Finally Aeraldi's scales turned to white again, this time keeping it's glow. His scales lit up, bringing a little more light to the darkness.
I apologize greatly for my actions, and my words.

Keralin listened to the conversation between Aeraldi and Faefnir. They seemed like two opposites trying to get along, but each knew the other's reactions. Eriel's question almost went unnoticed. Keralin quickly regathered himself before answering.
"Beings of shadow. I've only read about them and thought they only existed in some madman's ravings or a talented writer." Keralin said. But he knew the real reason he couldn't relax and it had nothing to do with the creature stalking them now.
"All I know is that when some animals live in the darkness for too long without any source of light they change, often into something evil.

Faefnir smirked, then let Star's tail loose. Just stay together, alright? Aeraldi, you lead the way.

OOC: pass turn.

"I didn't say always, I said often. Though I apologise if anything I said was insulting." Keralin said back. He looked at his hands in the dim light, he still had four fingers and a thumb on each hand. He initiated a breathing technique he learned when he was still living in Du Weldenvarden. It helped calm his nerves but it still didn't allay his fears.

Aeraldi looked at Faefnir and lowered his head slightly.
Gladly. He let his scales shine a little brighter, giving light to this never-ending darkness. He looked at Keralin and said to him,
Don't be afraid of the darkness, it cannot harm you. Aeraldi looked back to the tunnel and walked forward.

Humph. Then you haven't seen me in one of my tantrums, Faefnir thought to himself. He heeded Eriel's words and kept a sharp eye out for anything that may come from the darkness.

OOC: pass turn.

"I think Keralin would know more about this creature." Eriel said simply then placed a ward behind Reb's. She opened her mind slowly, just in case the creature was able to attack to magic. As she brushed against something, a mental attack came in swiftly, causing Eriel to wince slightly. Emrhyst roared in surprise then welded her mind with her rider's, bolstering Eriel's already powerful mental defenses with her strength.


OOC: caterpillar, i'm so nervous. I'm getting my exam results back... today! *scream*

"Well from what I've read, these creatures adapt themselves to their environment. Their eyes no longer require as much light as ours do to function, so bright lights cause them pain if they look at it too long."Keralin ran his lessons through his mind again, remembering his time in the librarys.
"Their bodies however, become misshapen and..." Keralin's words faded away.
And can do anything to shrinking, growing larger, massing limbs, massing eyes. Aelir continued for Keralin. Sometimes they can develop their senses to be more acute, and rarely can use magical abilities.
Keralin looked at Aelir, he had never told him about these things yet Aelir was talking as if he himself had read them. Privately Aelir told him; We live together as one, and as such our memories are linked.
"That's about all the relevant information I can remember."

So as long as my scales shine bright, you are safe. Aeraldi said.

"There was one other thing, a footnote in the books. It said that the minds of the creatures can be extremely dangerous. Their thoughts twisted and corrupted by the silence."

OOC: No, it's urs. You go after Aeraldi, then I go after you.

OOC: Hmmm... that's not the way it was before, but whatever. This'll be a pass turn.

Faefnir absorbed all this information and saved it for use later. Are they a threat to our mental defenses?

OOC: Its forte btw 'ƒ ' in music.

IC: Eriel frowned. "Guys, does anyone seem to care, that I've got some freak-show attacking my mind now?" Emrhyst roared and stood still, lending her rider energy to bolster her wards and defenses. Emrhyst growled. I can't take this. She walked into the darkness and roared. A second later, Eriel heard fighting. The mental attack was gone but there was a lot of pain coming from her left arm. "Emrhyst..." She thought softly then ran towards her dragon, sword in hand and lit ablaze with green flames.

OOC: Yeah, I'll say Keralin in scared in his mind and passes.

Aeraldi stopped walking when the others started fussing.

Keralin was almost out of his mind. He kept thinking that the darkness around him was slowly creeping up and grabbing his limbs. Pulling him away from the light. He closed his eyes and held them shut as hard as he could. He put his hand up to his head as if trying to block out the never ending silence. The groans of Eriel increasing his fear until suddenly, something in his mind just snapped. He opened his eyes and peered into the darkness, watching what wasn't there. Anyone who looked at Keralin's eyes would have seen nothing but terror in that instant, slowly transforming into a sense of peace. He roared out a battle cry that pierced the silence and reverberated along the walls, bouncing all the way down and back amplifying his original cry. He lost all control of himself at that moment and charged into the blackness.

Aeraldi watched the others as they tried their futile attempts to stop the incoming darkness. He increased the light coming from his scales and lit up the surrounding area. Aeraldi didn't see Keralin running until he was past him.

OOC: I'll post

IC: Eriel's eyes widened as a massive creature appeared in front of her. She breathed slowly and clutched her sword. The moment she did though, pain radiated from her sword arm, causing her to drop it. The sword hit the ground with an ominous Clang. Emrhyst growled weakly at the creature, she could hear Feafnir's voice but was in too much pain to respond. She slowly placed herself in front of Eriel and roared out, Don't touch her fiend. I swear upon the great dragon himself, I will kill you if you touch her! She growled, her eyes burned with anger. Eriel looked at her dragon in surprise, she noticed her limbs trembling. "Don't Emrhyst." She said softly. Her dragon snarled. I will kill it if it touches you my rider, I will. She roared and gently placed Eriel under her.

"Get off me!" Keralin struggled furiously in Star's teeth. His panic rising to a new level, he saw nothing but enemies. He looked at the ivory bars that were his prison, and the beast attached to them. He brought the hilt of his sword, as hard as he could, down on Star Gazer's nose.

Aelir was afraid of touching his rider's mind. Even though he had shut off his mind, he could still feel Keralin's terror. Aelir felt it corrupting every sane thought running through his rider's mind and felt it affecting his own thoughts.

Aeraldi watched events unfold.

Emrhyst looked back then grabbed her rider and raced back towards the others, her heart beating quickly,too quick for most to measure. She stopped as she heard Feafnir's roars of pain and the beast's claws hitting scale and flesh. Eriel shut her eyes and nudged her dragon forwards. Emrhyst growled softly and started to glide somewhat, using the air in the cave to do so.

OOC: -Pass turn

Keralin grabbed the inside of Star Gazer's mouth and tried unsuccessfully to open her grip on him. His fear was overwhelming, his breathing was irregular, adrenaline coursed through his system. Nothing mattered to him anymore, only his own safety. He gripped his sword in his hand and turned the blade downwards. Keralin aimed at Star Gazer.

Aelir decided to end his rider's suffering and make sure that nobody was hurt. Aelir forced his way into Keralin's mind and amidst the panic and fear, Aelir could tell there was something of his rider still in his mind. STOP NOW! He took control of Keralin's body and forced him to drop the sword, then he stopped Keralin's breathing until he was unconscious. Aelir regretted doing this but he knew that if any progress was to be made, it would be easier without a panicked elf.
Star, put him on my back. I'll make sure he doesn't wake. Aelir said slowly.
After Star put Keralin on his back he turned to the more serious matter at hand.

Aeraldi saw the rest, saw Faefnir lose his glow, saw Emrhyst (sp?) grab her rider from harm. He needed time to think, needed time to regroup, needed time for everything. He increased the light shining from his own scales ten fold. It brought light to mostly everything around him. He regretted it instantly. The walls were smeared with blood, as if the creature wrote with it. It made Aeraldi sick to his stomach.
As for Aeraldi, he enjoyed every second of it.

OOC: Oh, sorry.

Faefnir didn't flinch as the light from Aeraldi swallowed the entire corridor. He didn't mind the blood smeared on the walls. Then he quickly found a sight he never before had seen. There was a huge, hairy beast clinging to the walls, apparently blinded by the light. Faefnir swiftly lunged at it and broke its neck. Then he brought the corpse to the rest of the group. What do you make of this? I've never seen anything like it before. Star, can you identify it?

OOC: I love the new sig Eriel!

Keralin lay unconscious on Aelir's back. It was best for him as he was panic-stricken. Aelir hated doing this to him and when they got out, he planned to ask Keralin why he was so afraid.

Aeraldi sighed. I can't give much more, the more I give the weaker I become. If I lower my light I can do more, at this time though I'm giving the maximum I can. Sorry. Aeraldi kept hidden though that the more time he spent with his scales giving light, the faster his time moved for him, which meant that Aeraldi would be coming back soon.
