I believe that while he isn't a marshmallow-loving, tree-hugging, pacifist kind-of-good, he knows where the line is drawn. I think that once Galbatorix is killed, or perhaps before, he'll return to being a nuetral warrior-rider.

I really can't tell what he will do but i am more than sure that before the end of it Murtagh will prove how good he really is

I agree with you there. Just because he spared Eragon and Saphira doesn't mean he is good and can be redemed. He could have killed himself when Galby got his true name..but he did say that he values his life. But if he lives after Galby is killed what kind of life will he have after everything that he has done.

murtagh is one of the main characters. he's eragon's brother. Paolini wouldnt kill him off unless there was absolute need. if eragon must break the spell put on murtagh by slaying him, so be it, but i'm with dragon fan on this one. murtagh either turns back to good or dies, and i have a feeling he'll turn back to good.
