Arnon had been following the soldiers for weeks. They had stolen something very important to him, his sword. He had been forced to make due with his skills in magic and in the dark arts of controlling shadows. He was very angry, indeed. The soldiers had surprised him and Tamar some weeks ago. They had swiftly attacked their small camp and had used magic to bind both Arnon and Tamar, then took the sword. He did not know why they had taken his sword, but he knew he would have a hard time getting it back. They were Galbatorix' elite, each a powerful magician as well as a specialist in their own weapon, which they held. Arnon looked from the camp of the soldiers to the small red dragon behind him. He stared into the caring eyes of Tamar, his dragon and only true friend. Then he looked back to the soldier's camp. There stood their leader, a tall, powerfully built man with a long flowing red cloak, and in his right hand, Arnon's sword. He had been the one who had placed the spell upon Arnon and Tamar, he had skills in magic that Arnon was amazed with, he had speed and agility like that of an elf, he had the strength of a fully grown urgal, Arnon hadn't seen one with his skill since he had been trained by the riders. He would be the one Arnon would have to kill to get his sword back. He sat back and leaned against Tamar and said, "Our work is really cut out for us, you know, we aren't likely to leave this one unscathed."

Tamar simply hummed in response. She had seen the power of the men and respected it, though she still feared them, not for her sake, but for that of Arnon. She knew that if it came to an all out fight, then she and Arnon would probably be beaten, they had to hit and run, because the tall man had something about him that was wrong, he had something about him that was not just evil, it was downright wrong, she had to find out, but for now she would sleep.

OOC: In what general location in Du Weldenvarden are you?

OOC: Sorry, I shouldv gone into more detail, we are on the edge, near the empire.

OOC: Thanks.

Jareth leaned against a rough boulder and looked upon the small camp spread out before him. Anger and blood-lust welled up inside of him for he knew that hese were Galatorix's men, and he had to kill them. He couldn't help smiling, however, for these were the mad king's elite, and if he slaughtered them, he would give the king a mighty blow that would be hard to recover from. The shade was annoyed as well. He knew that he couldn't defeat them alone, he knew that he neaded help, and he had to find this help fast. Jareth glanced around him, but suddenly his eyes stopped their roaming. He had seen the glitter of scales. He looked at the camp to make sure no one was watching him and tossed his blade in the air. The shade hoped that the dragon would see it, and he hoped that he could inlist it to help him kill his enemies.

OOC: BTW, I will be gone for a week, so please wait on me here, I know it is annoying... I will try to get back on, but I doubt I will be able to...

IC:
[b]"Only one problem with that, we havn't shown you all of our powers, so you are still in the "dark" as to what we can and cannot do, but I will leave you be if you can help us take back my sword from that gargantuian over there." Arnon indicated the huge man who was standing near a fire. "He is their leader, cut the head off a snake,"

And the body will die. Said Tamar to finish Arnon's sentence. She allowed the shadows to recede and said, [i]Swear not to attack us and we will do the same.

Jareth smirked, "Don't worry, I'm not trying to exterminate shades...yet." He turned his gaze to the large warrior whom he would have to defeat, and he smiled. It would be so energizing to defeat another of Galbatorix's chosen ones. This was the kind of thing he had been looking forward to, and it would be almost as rewarding as if he was killing the king's pet, Murtagh. He nodded his head. He'd have to get around to that sometime in the near future. Jareth looked back at the two before him, with an air of fake inocense about him, "When shall we pay the king's men a visit?"

OOC: It's fine. I can be patient.

"None, sorry, I was just going to use shadow magic to re-steal my sword then kill them with that, I hate using magic, its ... cowardly, I mean where is the honor, or the challange?" Said Arnon as he went ot lay down and go to sleep. He said, "We will talk ore about it in the morning, even shades like to sleep sometime."

Well, it would be alot easier if you two would SHUT UP! Said Tamar as he moved around in annoyance.

OOC: I am back & Pass...

Jareth shot Arnon a rather nasty look and shrugged his shoulders. "No, I can't fly, which means I will have to run," growled the shade. He then added with sarcasm "Or I could just wait here and try to find a portal."

OOC: Short. Sorry.

OOC: I don't think Jareth has a shadow form...

OOC: I think all shades can do it.

OOC: Really? Cool!

Jareth quickly changed himself into a formless shadow and, in no hurry, started to walk through the forest. He passed numerous elves, barely restraining himself from attacking them. He knew that he had to hurry before he completely lost control of himself and started ripping them to shreds. Just as the thought crossed his mind, the shadows sent by Tamar found him, and he followed them to the cave where the others were waiting. Jareth entered silently.

"I'm not foolish enough to stay here to get killed," said Jareth, "No, I'm going to go with you." With that the shade followedArnon and Tamar deeper into the tunnel, hoping that they would catch up to Galbatorix's men soon. The wait was getting very tiresome...

OOC: Short (and like two days late) sorry.

OOC: Sorry, RoD, I am still grounded, so please wait untill I can get on regularly.

OOC: its fine. i went to the bahamas anyway.

OOC: His sort of friend? lol.

Jareth nodded at Arnon and Tamar with a somewhat appreciative look on his face and said, "Shall we leave?"

OOC: Short...

"Agreed," said Jareth. "But we will have to go at double speed when we do leave or else we will lose them all together."

OOC: pass.

"Agreed." Said Arnon as he slumped down to rest. He fell into a fitful sleep.

Tamar too fell into a deep slumber, her rasping breaths echoing avross the small clearing.

OOC: Short, sorry, and pass.

OOC: Maybe we should have a short time skip to get things going.

OOC: Ok, you do it.

Jareth ducked under a low branch, barely missing it as he studied the ground for footprints. The shade growled under his breath. It had been almost a week since the elves attacked them, and still their targets somehow avoided them. Sure, there was the occasioal piece of torn clothing or barely visible marking, but other than that, there was no sign whatsoever of their quarry. It was as if they knew exactly how fast the two shades were catching up, and then quickened their pace to out-do their persuers time. Jareth was geetting very annoyed. This was hopeless.

OOC: Will we be finding them any time soon?

OOC: We will run around after them untill we corner them in an old fortress on the edge of Du Weldenvarden.

IC:
Arnon though the could sight a sweeper (a backward guard, to make sure the soldiers were not being followed) while on Tamar's back. He flew down to a nearby river-bank and sent Jareth the location. There, he waited for Jareth, and to explain why they could not catch the soldiers.

OOC: Pass overall and with Tamar.

Jareth gazed at the dragon and rider as they disappeared over the horizon. Now it was time to put his plan to work. Not only would he have fun accomplishing his main objective, but he would be able to wipe out the elves that still followed them.

OOC: I want to wait for you to get to the camp so pass.

OOC: I'm moving so this i going to be my last post for a while.

Jareth covered up the last of his little weapons and slowly stood up. The whole place was a death zone so he would have to move carefully, and to do that he would have to remember where he had put each and every one of his 121 "bombs". This was going to be a hard task. The trees would have helped him in his retreat had they not been enchanted as well. Jareth could not use magic either, or the area would suddenly be destroyed. The shade had a plan though. He took out his knife and plunged it into his neck.

Afew hours later the shade was back at the camp, where he found that Arnon and Tamar.

After Arnon had finished his tale Jareth sat for a while in thought, contemplating what would be the best way to take down their foe. Suddenly, his face lit up and he said to his companion, "Your first idea seems like a good one, but it will have to be a little more complicated in order for it to work. It will also take luck, for I am hoping that this sweeper is either superstitious, or just plain prideful." Jareth sighed as he began his next words, "Here is what we will do...

OOC: Just play along here.
Time skip!
They are about to face the sweeper.

OOC: RoD, it is your turn.

An arrow flew through a gap in the trees and whizzed passed Jareth's head. The shade didn't flinch. He narrowed his eyes staring strait in front of him waiting for the fist attacker to dare show himself. And show himself he did. A huge man came rushing at him, a large battle axe gripped tightly in his hands, his knuckles white with the strength of his hold on the weapon. Long black hare covered his face the ends of it on fire, adding a menacing evil to his grotesque features. The giant of a man bellowed in rage and rushed directly at Jareth. The shade was tense as an arrow on a bowstring, ready to leap out of the way at the first stroke of the lethal axe. He stayed still till the last possible second, and then just as the weapon came down toward his head, and just as a look of triumph crossed his enemy's face, he jumped to the side impossibly fast, did a back flip, and landed on his opponents back, driving his knife into the base of his neck. He lept off just as the beast of a man toppled to the ground screaming and clawing at he wound as the knife's poison did its work. Jareth looked at the man in the eyes and ginned. Then his next enemy was upon him.

OOC: Sorry if the man's description doesn't fit what you had in mind. I'll change it if you want.
