Hi I'm Max ShadeSlayer. I've got some theories on book 3.

Theory 1. In case you haven't heard their might be a new rider in Alagaesia in book 3. I heard that the new rider is either Arya (the elf) or Roran (Eragon's cousin). Think about it. Roran is related to Eragon so he might have some of the same characteristics has him. He also single handedly led an entire village frolm the far north to Surda wich is way down in the south. That sounds like some dragon rider material. Arya because she's strong, an elf, fast, and, smart. Also she's expereinced with magic.


Theory 2. Selena (Eragon's mother) is still alive. I mean Christopher Paolini never said that she was dead.

I fink that the new dragon rider will be a new character, a girl who eragon will fall in love with(not Arya).
I mean why have three male riders. thats old, boring and sexist.
Think about it arya is of noble birth as Angela said but she said there would be a romance. That means the person who eragon loves also loves him weather or not the love ends good or bad.

Also since the first book was called Eragon then the third should be the name of the third rider. An example is Emilia[lame name i know] but don't u think i have a point.

no. AND the prophesy has already been fulfilled. According to the prophesy, the love can still be unrequited. There is also evidence that Arya loves Eragon, but that is a debate for another time.

that's a rather silly idea for a type of title. and it would be too obvious if it was a name. that's not very imaginative on CP's part, which isn't like him.

i think it will be the dragons name not the riders because the rider is either roran or arya and those would make a stupid title

that and it has to start with an "E" and it has to have 6 letters. It doesn't have to be the dragon's name though. It could be Empire.

unlike most i really doubt it will be empire. besides eldest and eragon could only be a coincidence

it was just an example. and it is confirmed that it will start with an "E".

she could like eragon but may nto show it or say it for a few reasons
1. it could interfear with training
2. could interfear on the battle field
3. she may think that she is betraying her last lover who died when she was caught by durza
4.is afraind what other people think though not likely however may not want he mother to have any extra power over eragon
5. does not want to have eragon put in the situation where she is kidnapped and the ransom is for eragon to give himself and saphria up.

ok 1 i think your crazy and 2 i put it in because it basicly compiles what alot of people are thinking and it makes alot of sense and gives the most sensible theory for most of them also he does not claim that they are his theorys just what he has come across. also people that are looking for theories and other thoughts on theories may come to this site and the link will send them to a good source.

Back on track now, I think the title Empire is a pretty good bet on the title.

No... i mean eragon(first book) is the name of the main character, eldest (second book) refers to murtagh being eragons older brother.
So naturally Empire would be a great name for the third book because it refers to the final battle with galbys forces.

Theory- next book;Empire. Christopher Paolini is Togira Ikonoka, not a fool;He would not create a mere coincidence. The name of the books is an alliteration.Also The next Dragon is supposed to be Saphira's mate, Do you really think Eragon could fall in love with someone besides the next rider. For one it would not be proper with Saphira or the generation and second I don't think Eragon will fall in love with a male, especially his cousin at that.

Totally random thought, so I skipped over the last couple of posts to post this. What if the elven girl who was singing to Eragon when he, Saphira, and Orik left for the Varden becomes the next Rider? We don't know who she is, and it sounds like she loves him, which would solve his love problem.

(Did someone post this theory already? Like I said, I skipped the last few posts.)

I think that that is the elf "with cherry lips" that we heard about twice. maybe at least. Maybe it is just coincidence that she was singing that twice when he came and when he left. It probably is because she is just an extra.

It was a different elven lady singing when he arrived at Ellesmera. And that lady was singing a different song. The song that elf was singing was the one she composed for the Agaeti Blodhren.

no. the one that was about a dragon leaving or something like that wasn't composed for the Blood-oath Ceremony. It was sung before and after. I'm sure of it.

No, it wasn't. I distinctly remember reading about that elf singing that song during the Agaeti Blodhren, because it was on those pages were the typing fades out you know: blahblahblah.....blahblahblah. I think it's supposed to show a time lapse. Eragon was dancing with the elf one moment, listening to her sing the next.

I'm like like positive that no one has said this. This is a crazy idea and not very likely, but it just might happen. What if Selena (Eragon's mom) is the new rider. No I'm not crazy. I was just brain storming when this hit me.

Aya having green magic isnt a very strong evidence ,the other 2 reasons u gave are right and i think those are most likely to happen in book3,atleast in my opinion.I mean what are the other possibilities,
Orik is a dwarf ,dwarves have had bad realtionships with dragons and orik himself admmitted he didnt like flying on saphira.I dont think CP is gonna add a new character in the story.
