Can no one spell on this forum besides me, Firetongue, andd the mods and admins??? I h8 it when I can't read anything ppl say!!!!! Sry, just a pet peeve of mine.....

Well there's lots of people here who have learnt English as a second language, so you can't really blame them. I know I wouldn't always get spelling right in a different language. Plus, when I post, I re-read it, and if I notice a spelling mistake, I go back and edit it.

I guess you are right Firetongue..... but stilll.......it really sux ppl cant learn to spell..... even those who live in the U.S.

Why not???? It's easy to learn new words....i think so at least. Oh well, im too "pet Peevish" i guess.

I'm fairly good at spelling cuz my teacher (mom), thinks its like 1 of the most important subjects ever.

I am not good in English spelling becous in Iceland u use a letter for eavry sound like u use TH to make sound but we use þ or ð so we have some letters no1 eals has (Á É Ú Ö Ý Ó)

im just horalble at spelling tho sumtimes i just lik to shorten words

You can spell better then that. For me, depends on how fast I'm typing.

English is not my first language either,, I never use it in my daily life,, so it sometimes hard for me to catch someone's message (especially in jokes).. And it worsen by ppl who don't use proper spelling,, because it makes me wonder 'what is this guy really mean to say??' and ended up guessing!

Once I read a pretty long interesting paragraph in Book 3 section and it took me 10 minutes to put it to word processor and analyzing the possibility of dozens miss-spelled words until I can finally understand it.. It was really a terrible spelling I can't help myself not to meddle and edited the post... I'm sorry! lol

ooh, me! me! I did french for 4 years! lol- ego! But now I've given it up, I forget it bit by bit, and I'm learning more German now anyway. yay. I guess I was always taught to spell properly, so it just happens automatically

My spelling and grammar....better not to read it....not worth it.....(but I'm improving.....I'VE GOT A AT ENGLISH TEST )

My mom stresses grammer and English with me since I homeschool, and my sister also does too. I also get better at it when I write in my story on the computer, because it fixes most of my mistakes. I don't like it when people don't spell right, I can let people slip up on a little bit of grammer, but misspelling drives me insane.

Better not to see my stories then....you would freak out (special at the lates one.....)

"Even those who live in the U.S."? Sounds like you're implying people from countries other than the U.S. are less likely to be proficient at spelling. In which case I'd watch what u say, u might be offending people here.

He meant that even people who have English as their first language are sometimes not great at spelling. I know lots of people here have learnt English after another language, so that's why they can't be always blamed for mistakes. It would have been better to say "even those who live in English speaking countries"

Ohhh gotcha. But then you can suck at spelling in other languages too

I do in Spanish I think, most of the time I use my book.

For me Its speed over spelling. My average typing speed in computer class is about 75-88 Gwam, but only like 85% spelling. There are times I type slow because I cant afford making spelling errors in maps on warcraft and other programing things. Other times I type really fast when playing like counter strike or guild wars when you only have about 10 seconds to type unless you want to die.

I'd love to check my speed... perhaps someone know some good online typing test so we can test our speed and accuracy together??

Is lower better or worst on the WPM lol...

WPM is word per min. if you have higher then thats how many word you can type per min. (on average) its better if your higher

Yeah, because means you can type alot more than usual.
