"Small chance of succes, certainty of death. what are we wating for?!" *gimli return of the king*

and the one where the hobbits run out to frodo at the meeting, and pipping say you need people uf intellagience on this quest thingy, then mary says "well that rules you out, pippin."

and when legoslas kills the elephant and gimli says it only counts as one

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. You preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runneth over. surely goodness and mercy shall follow mee all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the lord forever.

I had to plow through them. I hate to start reading a book and not finishing it. This trilogy had me begging for mercy. I much rather watch the movies.

You cannot pass... I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor. The Dark Flame will not avail you, Flame of Udun. Go back to the shadow. YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

Need I say any more?

lol, a true fan. Can you believe that LOTR were books tolkien originally made for his little kids? They have such an adult style really.

Maybe that’s why its done so well? After all, sometimes a kid WANTS to feel like an adult - and giving a child a book that presents things to him or her in an intelligent way makes him or her feel good and makes him want to read that book again

yes, but not if they're too young to understand it and get bored with it like I did the first time I tried to read it when I was quite young. Now, I think it's great obviously, but I see the point you're making :D

Yeah it may be boring for some kids, and some kids (like my when I was nine) may become addicted to it. But either way, the re-read value of the series is quite high

Is always bugged me how all of the LOTR movies and cartoons kept the Return to Hobbiten out of the story
